I would like to point out that, Xebec probably named his son to be the true “Dragon”, unlike those normies who named themselves celestial dragons, whom Xebec despised..
Oda said Luffy's mother isn't really important to the story. But I call bs, whenever authors say that a certain character isn't important, they might be lying.

Actually Dragon being Garps son is brought up quite a bit by the marines, especially by Sengoku, who talks about how problematic it is with dragon being Garps son.
@@BeeTheBee i mean if he was married to Garp's daughter they would say Son in law (or whatever the Japanese equilivent is, idk if they even have that). one thing i do know (or at least i think is true) is that Garp wanted him to be a marine like he did wanted Ace and Luffy to be marines . so i am leaning towards the fact that Dragon is either Garp's biological son that he doesn't like talking about because he is their number 1 enemy or that Dragon was Garp's daughter and that he doesn't like talking about it because he is old fashioned and doesn't like that his daughter changed sex (like some old fashioned old ppl in real life that don't like having gay or trans children/grandchildren), i am leaning more towards the 1st option.
@@FuryousD you did watch the video right? If a man marries into a bigger family in Japan he can be adopted into the family when marrying his partner. So he is, without a doubt part of this new family as an adopted child is the same as biological child. Garp has a big name, even if Dragon wasn't trying to hide his last name he could've done the very common Japanese thing to ensure that Garps grandchildren would carry the Monkey name.
@@BeeTheBee yes i watched the video but that was a while ago so my memory of it is not the best, i also have a terrible memory so if it was stated in the video i have most certainly forgotten by now.
I just want to add: If Garp really did adopt Xebec's son, then Roger KNEW about it. Remember, the two fought together against Xebec and his crew. That would add an extra dimension into Roger asking Garp to adopt Ace. Roger knew that Garp would've treated Ace well. Because Garp doesn't believe in the same "sins of the father" BS that the World Government does.
This whole theory is just shit as hell. Why the hell would Dragon be Xebec's son?? He can simply be Garp's son. These people are just complicating things for no reason and to gain views.. That's all
@@los_pollos_hermanos_ Idk, but I had the same theory, before I seen this 😹😹😹 but people do be overthinking One Piece, always thinking that Oda has a surprise for everything or that everything is a foreshadow 😹😹😹 the smallest things have to be a Foreshadow
@@los_pollos_hermanos_ That's not really the main point she's trying to bring across though because if you watch til the end you'll see that even if Dragon is Garp's biological son, the other side to it is that Luffy's mother is a Rocks. So the point is Luffy would be from both sides of the D clan.
I think that once someone started the idea that shanks was Rock’s son and everyone took it for a fact that there was a child left in God Valley and than all the theories started
@@Luffy-zj6vm thats a good theory cus it is stated that roger took shanks and buggy while they were 9 year old they were abandoned on an island that island can very well be god valley
I would like to talk about something that never gets mentioned regarding lineage. Roger had a kid on purpose to fulfill the role of heir apparent so that his journey would be a full circle. But this truly meant Ace was doomed from the start, we know that Momo inherited voice of all things ability from Oden but it was never confirmed that Ace had an inkling of having the voice. But this is where it gets a little crazy and I'm probably crazy for thinking this but it's Oda and logic is not part of the discussion, by prolonging Ace's birth Rouge could have unintentionally taken Ace out of the running. Which also makes the theory in this video a little crazy accurate, if Dragon is Xebecs son and Luffy's mother is Garps daughter Luffy basically has indirect connections to every major character in OP. But let me go even further- -Shanks went out of his way to keep Luffy alive (kind of fulfilling a Garp role to Roger) During Marineford Luffy gains Whitebeards respect nearly instantly...I can't stress enough how crazy that moment where WB dies he yells the one piece is real. As a former crew member of Xebec would realize that Luffy is his formers captains grandson and seeing the similarities Luffy had with Roger- that message was for Luffy. But what convinced me the most is when Luffy met Rayleigh- Rayleigh says "that straw hat of yours really fits a fearless man like yourself, I've been looking forward to meeting you Monkey D Luffy" Roger disbanded his crew in order to ensure he had multiple people he could trust that whoever presented themselves as the candidate to fulfill whatever prophecy that they found about would have help, but what set Luffy apart is when Usopp asked about the one piece- it almost convinced me that the prophecy says the one to fulfill it must find their own way.
Ace would have never found out. He was way too rapped up in being a subordinate officer then a king. Maybe if Whitebeard died and he didn’t he might of found his peek. But for how he was he was still just a hot head. That jumped first and thought while fighting.
I feel so bad for Ace, his existence is a big question for him. He went to sea looking for purpose for his life. Then he met WB who treated him like a son when he attacked WB for 3months to "defeat" him. A character that never had closure with his dad nor died to honor his other dad.
I mean, shanks isn't even that mysterious himself, like We know a fair bit about him by now, we just miss a backstory on how he got on roger's ship and a couple of details here and there, but we know him quite well actually While we don't know shit about dragon basically lol
I’ve talked about this theory with some homies before, and I love the idea that Roger knew Garp would take Ace in because he had seen him do it years before with Dragon at God Valley
@@rolla5815 ok. Then explain why would Helmepo refer to Dragon as the “Vice Admiral’s Son” when Garp told the Straw Hats and his Marines that Luffy’s dad is dragon?
@@AngieCarr bro are you fucking serious. Why tf would helmeppo know if dragon was garps son, that's the same conclusion ivankov made about ace and dragon
@@rolla5815 2 things, Calm down the intensity dude, I’m just asking a question. Also, I’m referencing what happened in the anime when Garp caught up with Luffy and the Straw Hats. He was with Coby and Helmeppo.
I’m still waiting for Kaido to say “You remind me of that man” and mean Rocks. Everyone else compares him to Rodger, so it would be eye opening if Kaido said he was more like Xebec
It's often implied that Xebec would've had a dark aesthetic power like Blackbeard's devil fruit, but looking at his hair and how Luffy looks in the recent chapter, I'd say there's quite a connection to makes there
@@marcialopez7228 It also makes sense from a thematic standpoint; Xebec aimed at toppling the world order and inserting himself at the top, even if it meant taking on the Celestial Dragons. Luffy isn't as evil or destructive as Xebec, but Luffy _ALSO_ has a very similar "rebellion against order" theme as Xebec. Heck, Luffy punching out a Celestial Dragon without thought is just like Xebec attacking the Celestials on God Valley.
"dragon who grew up as a son of rocks falls in love with an alligator and through mukuyoshi becomes a monkey" honestly, if I show this statement to any people who have never watched one piece, I will be deemed as an insane person
This theory actually pulls an interesting double duty of clarifying another scene in the series. When Rodger told Garp about his newborn son, and asked the old man to take care of him, this theory actually establishes that the reason Rodger knew Garp would do it was because *He'd done it before*! Garp spared the son of his worst enemy, and even adopted him to hide Dragon's true heritage, so Rodger knew that he would be able to ensure Garp did the same for Ace.
So if this is true then Luffy is the grandson of the greatest marine, and the worst pirate, son of the worst criminal and an alligator and sworn brother of the Pirate Kings son. Now let's just wait for someone to theorise family connections with luffy and the gorosei and it will be perfect
So let me get this straight, Luffy's Family now consists of: Sabo, Ace (Pirate King's son), Dragon (Most wanted criminal), Garp (Most Famous marine), Rocks (Most notorious Pirate). Bro if they were all alive, he could solo the whole verse
You seem to like theories that are false. So here is a false one of my own. Those sillouhettes of the yonkos is how kaido actually looked like. He in reality was ugly af. That's why he is an alcoholic suicide candidate. Big mom goes from beeing hell of ugly as a child to beeing quiet good looking in her youth to looking ugly af again now and resembling kaidos original shadow in quiet the big way. The favour that kaido owes big mom is actually a switch of their looks. She turned ugly af like kaidos original shadow and kaide (even tho still ugly af) not isn't that much ugly af anymore........oh and insama is the father of luffys mother and fake whitebeards son is the son of whitebeard and one of sengokus goats. Thats why he is such a cripple and why sengoku always looks after the goat so deearly as the the goat has post traumatic problems
At the time oda probably had the story planned out, just not the designs yet, so he just drew something for kaido and bigmom also the silhouettes look fairly generalized, the one for rocks however seems to me more detailed and fleshed out so i guess this time it will be more accurate
The thing that always confused me before this is why it's never brought up that the son of the hero of the marines is the world's most wanted criminal... which makes a lot more sense if Dragon isn't actually Garp's son.
BRUH, THIS. Even Sengoku calls Garp out when Luffy and Ace start doing pirate ship and in the War. 2 possibilities: withers this theory is correct and no one actually knows that Dragon was a Rocks before marrying in the Garps family, or they actually just wiped that out of respect of Garp. But the thing is, EVERYONE knows that Dragon is MONKEY D. DRAGON, and that Garp is Monkey D Garp
Dragon being Xebecs son would be even more interesting if Shanks is also a son of Xebec (and Roger finding him on Gods valley). It adds a duality to both sons of Xebec being father(figures) of Luffy
All of them are adopted. luffy, ace, sabo, and dragon. Garp beat the sh*t out of their fathas(including/except roger of course). Garp sure did played his role to make sure the prophecy will play out as it should.
Might have been the exact reason rodger knew garp would take ace. Because he watched garp take dragon at God valley. Brings more light to the you know a child shouldn't pay for the sins of his father.
I like the idea of Rocks daughter being Luffy's mom. I would think that the government would have found her and killed her since she was Rocks' daughter and that's why Dragon was motivated to start the revolutionary army. Brings back the point that the government would want to kill Ace for being Rogers son 🤔
Very very convincing! Add to this Luffy's remarks when he saw Dragon for the very first time - "he looks nothing like me". This has been in front of us the entire time!! Very Oda-ish thing to do!
Something that adds to this in my mind is even though Luffy is a pirate Garp is constantly shown to be proud of him but we never see him talk positively about Dragon and never in a way were he's bragging about him. If Dragon is a son in law instead then this makes a lot more sense.
this line makes me think u never watched the show like ever, garp always hated pirates or those that were against aka revolutionary hence y the first thing he does to luffy is to beat the shit out of him and then throws massive cannon at his ship, the guy was proud only in one instance and that to when sengoku was mad at luffy being his grandson
The theory that his mother might be Xebecs daughter would also make sense. Luffys mother might have been killed by the World Government because of her connection to Xebec, while Dragon was left alive as the son of Garp. This would explain why Dragon hates the World Government and founded the Revolutionary Army. And it would explain her absence from the story as she might have been killed right after Luffys birth. It would be a perfect tragic backstory for Dragon
I think Shanks realized who exactly Luffy was when they first met and gave him the Straw Hat to help shape his destiny away from his 'fate'. And Shanks probably warned the Gorosei about whi Luffy is.
Really enjoyed this theory! Also, Xebec is the name of a mediterranean sailing ship and Drekar (dragon) refers to a viking ship. Luffy's actual paternal figure would arguably be Shanks, whose ship is... well, a Drekar and he himself has been linked to Norse mythology in more than one theory now. Adding my two cents here. Ps. Imagine a Monkey D. full family gathering... The Gorosei would have a collective heart attack.
It could mean he's referring to himself (Garp) having the Conquerer's Haki and having passed it on to Luffy... This would also mean Garp's kid, whether Dragon Or unnamed daughter, could use the Conquerer's Haki
Coupling this with the theory that Blackbeard is carrying Xebec's soul (or something) around would make this *especially* awkward. I guess Xebec's blood could have gotten into Luffy any number of ways, if we're going this route. Maybe Xebec had a daughter that Garp married, or perhaps Xebec had an especially attractive sister. Or Xebec implausibly IS Dragon and was being squirreled away with memory loss by Garp in some elaborate prank. One Piece!
No no, you're really stretching it. The whole reason this theory thought dragon wasn't garps son is because he looked more like rocks. How would luffy resemble garp if both his dad and mom resembled rocks?
I think the reason that luffy being from Garp and Dragon's family works so well is because he's kind of against both of them. He doesn't agree with the marines or revolutionary army, he thinks everyone should be free
This reminds me of when you yourself were greatly under the radar with a couple of thousand subscribers. I remember saying I look forward to you catching up to the big one piece youtubers and I just checked. Congratz on overtaking Tekking! You really blew up fast these last few months. Well earned!
Can’t wait to hear more about rocks. He’s giving me the same vibes as when I first saw Roger at his execution in the old episodes: mysterious, menacing, and cool as hell
This theory was dived quite nicely. Loved the two D coming to create a full moon. Although I would say this isn't a theory I heard for the first time. Dragon's & Xebec's similar appearances were brought on reddit i believe. But not so throughly. Great job Australian Liam & Australian Dawn
It could also give Dragon a reason for forming the Revolutionary Army. His love, Ally D Gator being killed/enslaved/etc by the Celestial Dragons. Garp can’t/won’t do anything about it despite his pain, and Dragon takes his wife’s name out of memory as he sets out to enact his revenge.
I rewatched this one after 1044. The inherited 2 D's could make a Sun. I'm still holding on to the theory that the D, if it doesn't stand for something like devil or demon, is a smile :D
I think the reason Luffy having everything going for him works so well is because he really couldn’t care less. Luffy might have this illustrious family history and the secretive Will of D, but he’s still so unapologetically himself and shrugs off his lineage because he only cares about the dreams he and his nakama have
@2:39 “you’re just my kid’s kid” I was watching the Sub video of that episode when they were naming their ship and the subtitles says “you’re my Son’s son”. I read the original chapter 439 and it is the same as you have here. The color manga says “you’re the son my my child”
At this Point, I just want to know more about luffys mother. Oda sadly stated once, that he never thought deeply about the identity of luffys mother. She probably will get the same treatment aces mother got. Sorry about my poor english
Two details I noticed: 1) Roger being SO CERTAIN he would save and take in Ace makes SO DAMM SENSE if we consider that Roger likely knew about Rocks' child and how Garp took him in! 2) perhaps Dragon chose his revolutionary way instead of following piracy EXACTLY because he didn't want to straight up follow the path his biological father created while also trying to take down the WG? We have no idea when the Revolutionaries were formed, so perhaps that's linked as well with Roger's death? Also Hi, I've been subscribed for a while now but I never commented, love this channel!
I’ve thought about this Dragon theory before Rocks was revealed, he doesn’t look like Luffy nor Garp and it’s not unheard of for a man to inherit the wife’s name
I think this actually puts more pieces in context than it causes more questions, which is what good theories should do. It answers questions about why Roger would have trusted Garp beyond an honorable rivalry in a way that doesn't just cause a bigger pile of questions that need answering. At least not for me.
As far as we know, the WG, old marines (especially Senkogu) knows the whole stuff about Xebec, so I doubt Garp could have gotten away with adopting his 13 years old son lol. Dragon is probably his legitimate son.
@@tyleranderson3290 Or perhaps they’re estranged because Garp fights for the Marines and Dragon directly opposes not only the Marines but the WG itself. They’re 2 opposing moralities
Maybe Dragon's existence was a secret to most, much like Ace's heritage was until Sengoku announced it to the world. Or Garp made it a condition to adopt him for staying silent about God Valley since he became hero of the marines there There's ways and means here and secrecy is an often used trope in OP
What difference would it make? Goku knew that garp took Rodgers kid. Goku isn't akainu he knows just as much as garp that they do fucked up stuff. And honestly do you think garp gives a fuck what goku had to say about it? It's not like son goku could ever really order garp around. In marine Ford when son goku starts to nag at garp when he's walking up to ace garp straight tells him to be quite.
Maaaaan Garp being the maternal grandpa is something I've been telling my friends for years! I'm glad to hear someone agrees Clearly this Dawn person is of high intellegence
I heavily like the idea of both of Luffy's parent's having the fated "D", especially because it ties in with something I've been arguing against other fans about for a while, that Luffy is not "the" chosen one, but rather "a" chosen one. My defense of which being that actually, Roger and Ace were both also "chosen ones", they just failed due to various circumstances - Roger developing a terminal illness, and Ace developing a terminal hole. And how, many characters in the series that are aware of the more worldly secrets point out these blatant connections - such as Rayleigh, Whitebeard, and Shanks. And now for a new theory I just thought up- The D clan is destined to fulfill two fundamental objectives. The first is that of the "Pirate King" route - getting the One Piece; the second is more akin to the "Revolutionary" route - actively undermining the Celestial Dragons as Xebec and Dragon have done. Both of these different, yet similar, paths ultimately combine to form the path which Joyboy may have followed. This also lends itself to Dragon being among the chosen, plays into the "Two Ds make a moon" speculation, and credits itself towards the subtle theme of multiple chosen ones and failed chosen ones that I believe exists in the series.
Just to the point why ace failed, maybe it was due to his hate againt his father like he was destined to be great but ended up hating the Pirate King position so much he left his "destined" path and therefore died and like whitebeard said passed his flames on to the next one.
The two Ds that make the moon would be the dusk and the dawn imo. The Ds who appear to have an evil approach like Blackbeard may form the Dusk side of the D clan... could be why Blackbeard isn’t the one Roger is waiting for because his methodology of taking down the celestial dragons doesn’t live up to Joyboy’s way of doing things. So the only “chosen ones” will be the members of the D clan who appear to have a kind heart
I'd like to see an Isakai where a super powerful op character gets put into a regular world where there are no powers. What would they do and how would they handle it.
This is low-key mind-blowing. And makes me rethink relationship ties in the series completely. Like I didn't think about dragon being Garps son in law.... It's kinda f's me up.
Ngl, when I saw Rocks one of my first thoughts was that he kinda looked like Dragon. So this theory makes a lot of sense to me. And taking Rocks' child under his wing isn't a crazy idea since Roger trusted Garp that he would do the right thing with Ace. Dragon always looked evil to me. So my guess is that when Garp took him in he already had his daughter and dragon was always down and angry looking or a rebel maybe... he had to be if he was raised by Rocks. But Luffy's mom made him change because she's like luffy, always smiling. Her light was brighter than the darkness in his heart. My second theory is that the story we were told might've been wrong or Garp told Dragon he had no choice but to fight and kill Rocks, the world government forced his hand. And that's why dragon fights against the world government, creating his own path leading to the goal he wants to achieve. As far as I know there isn't much knows about Rocks so who knows, Dragon might have the same powers Rocks had. And when they reveal Rocks' power that will be showcased. Also Dragon is nicknamed "world's worst criminal"... fitting title for the child of Rocks.
I really like that it actually fits perfectly with my own humble theory, which is that the reason for Dragon to abandon Luffy and wage war on WG, or tenryubito is that they killed Luffies mother, in this compilation, we have an excellent explenation on way she got killed: relation to Rocks son, and we get may 2 more reasons for name change, one honring his lover and two protecting Luffy from his accursed name
It makes even more sense when u think about the end of enies lobby. Luffy didn’t even know he had a dad, what if that’s because garp only told luffy about his biological child alligator
and Vivi be like "I bested You! (with Straw Hats but whatever, I am one of them!) and You cant challenge a Sayyadina!!!! I win." XDDDDD am sorry, my poor mood is broken XD
I have always had this crack pot theory that Robins dad was dragon and Luffy and Robin were secretly half sibilings. Which is why dragon got along so well with him.
Another thing we can theorize is that luffy’s power was limited by Vegapunk, if you think about doesn’t he have a pretty small power for being the grandson of garp and xebec, maybe garp went to talk to vegapunk limitate the enormous power luffy had even as a child? And maybe in the future we could see him awakening is power?
I believe it. Id also like to point out that this theory relates to Luffy's belief in nakama. Despite no blood relation, family are those who you care deeply for. Probably something that he initially inherited from Garp.
I love that in a world as vast and goofy as one piece, these seemingly obvious facts can get lost and its not until 500 chapters later we look back and realize these crazy connections
I have a theory about the "Will of D" Will is being inherited by one from another person (called the Testator) When the testator dies, they are called "decedent". Decedent is the giver of the Will, hence, the Will of Decedent. If you have the D in your name, you are fated to inherit the will of the dead. I would like to point these out... -Monkey D Dragon, present in Roger's execution, inherited his will. -Monkey D Luffy, present in Ace's execution/dying moments, inherited his will. -Trafalgar D Water Law, present in his family's murder, inherited their will. Also, present in Corazon's murder, inherited his will. -Ace given birth by his mother, Portgas D Rouge (dying), inherited her will. etc. The only questions are what is that specific (original/root of the) will? and Who are those decedents really?
This would all be very cool if Oda hadn’t already stated himself that he has no interest in introducing Luffy’s mother to the story. Also, Garp is from Goa Kingdom, which is also Dragon’s place of birth and is most certainly old enough to be his biological father.
Goa can just be a simple relic of the old times, and proves nothing. It's a theory worth entertaining until we know more. And a new perspective. Let's also face the fact Oda's words don't always stand true, re: bounties.
@@Sertifi sorry, it was just the way you phrased it that I didn’t get. You’re right, it doesn’t but that would then why would Oda bother making his official place of birth in his Vivre card Goa instead of just “unknown” like other characters? There’s also the age difference between not just Garp and Dragon but Shanks as well because there’s also the theory that Shanks is the son of Rocks and was adopted by Roger at God Valley, which I personally feel is far more likely.
@@Cookieprolurker It's nearly impossible to make two theories fully compatible. As you said it's a personal preference which is more believable, but Vivre cards may just inform you of data that is known in the One Piece worlds, and not the whole truth.
@@liam-398 I do agree that the more special a character's bloodline is the more it takes away from thier awesomeness... Characters that become great for themselves are better than characters who have great lineage. But its not like Garp or Dragon have done anything to help Luffy on his journey so really One Piece is pretty good with that even though Luffy, Sanji and Zoro all seem to have important lineage
@@liam-398 yes it will. How many times has luffy got his ass completely handed to him and just refused to give up. His genetics didn't give him the unwavering will that's all luffy. Garp, nor xebec have really helped luffy in all of this. You can say dragon did save his life once but other than that its all luffy and the people that he have drawn to himself.
Love it, never noticed it before but this feels like a solid theory. At least as far as Garp taking Dragon to stop him being executed just because of his name it's defienetly on brand for Garp and would make sense why Rodger asked him.
As far as genetics goes, I look exactly like my grandfather and almost nothing like my father. Who he himself looks like his grandfather. So it’s not unheard of.
Luckily for my friend group, we pretty much came to this conclusion a few years back on Garp never referring Dragon as his son. It’s definitely a shocker and GOda could be messing with us but regardless it’s stick a shocker.
3:57 It is actually a real life common thing that a lot of hereditary traits including, facial features, diseases, looks, etc skipped a generation and you tend to look more like your grandfather than your father. That's why a lot of people when they see younger pics of their grandparent or in some cases great grandparent it tends to be a spitting image
Honestly this is the most credible theory I've heard that has nothing but speculation to back it up. Like I would've never thought it but it presents no completely flawed focal point. Kudos, I'll be thinking about this for some time 😅
I heard this theory ages ago. But in the theory was garp looking after rock’s son that being dragon, that’s why roger knew garp would look after his son.. then you get the name monkey d dragon. Garp could of already had a daughter and that landed in some weird jojo incest relationship.
while i don't completely came up with this exact theory i always for some reason doubt if dragon is actually garp son and always wondered about luffy side of the mom more
an _ luffy probably more of dragons side.. it wouldn’t be far fetched for garp to take in rocks kid... sengoku took in x drake when he was 19 with the same maths applied dragon would of been younger than xdrake during the battle of god valley..
Its possible that Dragons mom is Xebecs Daughter. We dont know how old Xebec is but it’s possible that he was in his 40-50s when Roger and Garp fought him in the god valley incident leaving plenty of time for an of age daughter of Xebec to meet with Garp by chance. How they meet? Idk... Happenstance?
I just saw a theory about Blackbeard that was super interesting that I personally haven’t heard before The theory is that Blackbeard has 2 brothers and he used his yami yami no mi to consume them which allows him to wield more than one fruit And that’s why there’s 3 skulls on his Jolly Roger Cool idea would love to see someone expound on it more
You should read wikipedia about blackbeard real pirate story..all about blacbeard related there and you will be surprised.. includes his 3 personality/vessel..
This would offer some explanation as to why Roger asked Garp to look after Ace. He already knew he was looking after Xebec’s son. It would also explain why Dragon is trying to liberate countries as well, kind of atoning for his father’s sins. Let’s be honest though, we would all love another Monkey family scandal reveal. On another note, perhaps Garp publicly announcing Luffy’s dad was to further cement the illusion of Dragon not being Xebec’s son. Maybe this was his daughter’s will, to not only protect Luffy, but Dragon as well. This would help give understanding to Robin’s reaction after Garp revealing Dragon. Dragon being so mysterious and unknown, yet the WG knew nothing about him. Furthermore, what reason would Garp have to out his son’s identity unless there was some threat? That threat reared its ugly head when Big Mum and Kaido allied themselves together, and people were talking about the return of Rocks. This would make Garp one of One Piece’s most fascinating characters.
Garp-“ Why is everyone asking me to take care of their kid?!? i couldn’t even take care of my kid”…..”that’s why they asked you to take care of their kid, they saw how much you loved yours”

one thing i do know (or at least i think is true) is that Garp wanted him to be a marine like he did wanted Ace and Luffy to be marines .
so i am leaning towards the fact that Dragon is either Garp's biological son that he doesn't like talking about because he is their number 1 enemy or that Dragon was Garp's daughter and that he doesn't like talking about it because he is old fashioned and doesn't like that his daughter changed sex (like some old fashioned old ppl in real life that don't like having gay or trans children/grandchildren), i am leaning more towards the 1st option.

No one looks at his female partner
But let me go even further-
-Shanks went out of his way to keep Luffy alive (kind of fulfilling a Garp role to Roger)
During Marineford Luffy gains Whitebeards respect nearly instantly...I can't stress enough how crazy that moment where WB dies he yells the one piece is real. As a former crew member of Xebec would realize that Luffy is his formers captains grandson and seeing the similarities Luffy had with Roger- that message was for Luffy.
But what convinced me the most is when Luffy met Rayleigh- Rayleigh says "that straw hat of yours really fits a fearless man like yourself, I've been looking forward to meeting you Monkey D Luffy"
Roger disbanded his crew in order to ensure he had multiple people he could trust that whoever presented themselves as the candidate to fulfill whatever prophecy that they found about would have help, but what set Luffy apart is when Usopp asked about the one piece- it almost convinced me that the prophecy says the one to fulfill it must find their own way.
This makes a whole lot of sense
🤯
😳
Ace would have never found out. He was way too rapped up in being a subordinate officer then a king. Maybe if Whitebeard died and he didn’t he might of found his peek. But for how he was he was still just a hot head. That jumped first and thought while fighting.
I feel so bad for Ace, his existence is a big question for him. He went to sea looking for purpose for his life. Then he met WB who treated him like a son when he attacked WB for 3months to "defeat" him. A character that never had closure with his dad nor died to honor his other dad.

Oda won't do the same thing now
This theory actually pulls an interesting double duty of clarifying another scene in the series.
You see their aunt’s uncle’s brother’s daughter’s neice’s babysitter’s dog walker is Luffy’s third cousin thrice removed.

At the time oda probably had the story planned out, just not the designs yet, so he just drew something for kaido and bigmom
also the silhouettes look fairly generalized, the one for rocks however seems to me more detailed and fleshed out
so i guess this time it will be more accurate
Maybe someone in the government killed luffy’s mother and thats why dragon started this entire thing about revolutionary army.
Dragon being Xebecs son would be even more interesting if Shanks is also a son of Xebec (and Roger finding him on Gods valley). It adds a duality to both sons of Xebec being father(figures) of Luffy

Two details I noticed:

Wait... if we combine the two theories, would that mean Crocodile is Dragon's grandmother???
I heavily like the idea of both of Luffy's parent's having the fated "D", especially because it ties in with something I've been arguing against other fans about for a while, that Luffy is not "the" chosen one, but rather "a" chosen one.
My defense of which being that actually, Roger and Ace were both also "chosen ones", they just failed due to various circumstances - Roger developing a terminal illness, and Ace developing a terminal hole. And how, many characters in the series that are aware of the more worldly secrets point out these blatant connections - such as Rayleigh, Whitebeard, and Shanks.
And now for a new theory I just thought up-
The D clan is destined to fulfill two fundamental objectives.
This also lends itself to Dragon being among the chosen, plays into the "Two Ds make a moon" speculation, and credits itself towards the subtle theme of multiple chosen ones and failed chosen ones that I believe exists in the series.
very believable theory and something that would reflect struggles in the real world. I could definitely seeing unfolding this way.
Just to the point why ace failed, maybe it was due to his hate againt his father like he was destined to be great but ended up hating the Pirate King position so much he left his "destined" path and therefore died and like whitebeard said passed his flames on to the next one.

Luffy's Mom and Dad are the most mysterious characters.
It makes even more sense when u think about the end of enies lobby. Luffy didn’t even know he had a dad, what if that’s because garp only told luffy about his biological child alligator

And maybe in the future we could see him awakening is power?
nah one piece doesn't usually automatically give its characters boosts because lineage but it does increase the potential
@@imlit3725 well maybe he can unlock that after a training
When everything about Dragon gets revealed, the fan base will split like the sky
But not with Haki, with screams.
The screams of theorists being proven wrong or right.
@@sirapple589 yesss!
I do really love the idea of Luffy being the inheritor of Rocks' genetics and Blackbeard inheriting Rocks' will and them clashing over the One Piece
Really
@@kejekelly690 ... yes?
I believe it. Id also like to point out that this theory relates to Luffy's belief in nakama. Despite no blood relation, family are those who you care deeply for. Probably something that he initially inherited from Garp.
I love that in a world as vast and goofy as one piece, these seemingly obvious facts can get lost and its not until 500 chapters later we look back and realize these crazy connections
I have a theory about the "Will of D"
Will is being inherited by one from another person (called the Testator)
When the testator dies, they are called "decedent".
What about Whitebeard and Blackbeard?
That'd be cool if Garp took care of both his enemies son's and they're all Ds too!
@@Sertifi your first point makes zero sense.
@@Cookieprolurker Maybe you just didn't think it through? 2 people being from the same place does not prove relations.
I laughed so hard when u said a dragon from the rocks marries an alligator becoming a monkey LMAO.
This theory(if true) would just make Luffy's bloodline even more stronger which just feels awesome!!
Quite the opposite, nothing he does will be particularly special anymore
LoL! The theory of Luffy and Black Beard being related makes Black Beard a literal Monkey's Uncle!
Oda drawing that strange tattoo in his face in 2004 thinking "I will make something up in the future"
Love it, never noticed it before but this feels like a solid theory. At least as far as Garp taking Dragon to stop him being executed just because of his name it's defienetly on brand for Garp and would make sense why Rodger asked him.
Dragon don't seems to have the "genetic disease" of instant sleep that Garp, Luffy and Ace (before Oda change his background) have.
It's called narcolepsy
Garp literally says my kid's kid to luffy, which is almost the same as saying, "Son
The way Liam laughs at meatwad betrays his lack of ATHF exposure

Luckily for my friend group, we pretty much came to this conclusion a few years back on Garp never referring Dragon as his son. It’s definitely a shocker and GOda could be messing with us but regardless it’s stick a shocker.
He's right. I guess his name might actually not be Liam and we could never know.
Kudos, I'll be thinking about this for some time 😅
But shouldn’t sengoku know dragon isnt garps son? They know each other for a long time after all
Yes my dad walked in as I was pulling my hands up and he said "I don't wanna walk into the house and hear belts buckling up"
I heard this theory ages ago.
If dragon is xebec's son then luffy's dad isn't dragon because garp is luffy's grandpa but according to this theory xebec is luffy's grandfather
Left Swerve • 2 years ago garp was aces adoptive grandfather…
Next up Luffy's mother was also adopted by Garp and after marrying Dragon they couldn't have a kid so they adopted Luffy whose real dad is Shanks.
Tbh,this is a pretty old theory that came out ever since Rocks was introduced
I just saw a theory about Blackbeard that was super interesting that I personally haven’t heard before
The theory is that Blackbeard has 2 brothers and he used his yami yami no mi to consume them which allows him to wield more than one fruit
And that’s why there’s 3 skulls on his Jolly Roger
Cool idea would love to see someone expound on it more
You should read wikipedia about blackbeard real pirate story..all about blacbeard related there and you will be surprised.. includes his 3 personality/vessel..
I've actually heard this theory quite a few times before. As a massive Luffy fanboy if this turns out to be true I think I would die of hype
Garp-“ Why is everyone asking me to take care of their kid?!? i couldn’t even take care of my kid”…..”that’s why they asked you to take care of their kid, they saw how much you loved yours”
