If we’re counting smile devil fruits, they are technically the best tasting fruit as everytime the manga and anime shows a person eating a smile devil fruit they show no disgust after eating it and often are quick to take a second bite. In contrast, every person in the manga and anime shown to eat any other devil fruit show disgust after taking a bite of the fruit. 😁
Oda himself confirmed your theory back in the SBS of volume 95, and I believe his words in the official english translation were: "It's been said before that Devil Fruits taste disgusting. Somehow, SMILEs take on the flavour of normal fruits. However, it can also be said that it's because of this that the tragedy of Ebisu Town could occur." I have left a comment as well and explained why I still came to a different conclusion though, and would appreciate it if you considered giving it a look as well, to let me know if you agree or not
I had a thought about Kaido's fruit. There's never been another example of a fish-fish fruit of any kind, and I always assumed that it would be non-existant or useless because of the whole devil fruit-water problem. At the same time, I've always wondered why Kaido, with his massive desire to die, never just dove into the sea to drown. Makes me wonder if Kaido is still able to swim because of his fruit, and maybe if all fish-fish fruits carry that bonus

I think that’s unlikely. We’ve seen Jack at the bottom of the ocean, who was immobile, but wouldn’t die. He would lose his ability to swim up to the surface, but he wouldn’t be able to die. It’s possible that he can breathe underwater, but I don’t think he can swim.

Also, he mentions that Roger and Whitebeard died the RIGHT way so he wants to die in a grand fashion so while jumping from the sky is grand and cool looking, just walking into the water to drown isn’t (at least in Kaido’s mind)
Given their origin, I think devil fruits' notoriously bad taste stems from them tasting like seasalt and I imagine Yuki Yuki no Mi's snowy quality would by extension make it taste like seasalt ice cream, which is a suprisingly tasty combination, so that would be my response.
Robins fruit is AMAZING. Imagine if Garp had her fruit. Imagine Tons of King Kong size hands imbued with haki on the battlefield. Garp alone could've cleared Marineford, including the Yonko Commanders, EASILY. Let's not forget that in one of the One Piece movies it gave credence to Robin creating even larger limbs, Gran Fleur. Then the fruit gives you psuedo observation haki, duplicating eyes and ears across the battlefield. You can fly (it was only limited by Robin's stamina). You can create clones. You could probably teleport as Robin kinda did that in Wano. And this is ALL WITHOUT Awakening. Robin has one of the most powerful and underrated Devil Fruits of the series. I never understood why her devil fruit didn't have a bounty on it like Law's. Heck, if Oda wanted to, he could allow it to sprout limbs inside an opponent's body. [Update] : She could probably create a chainsaw using armament haki like when she blocked the hits from Yama and Gecko Moria. She can also probably create a shield, similarly to how she did against Trebol with that Rock, but rather with a big hand using armament haki. Imagine Garp with all that power and utility. Pirate King for sure.
Also she's hold on enemies is automatic when they enter her range, no matter how fast they are. That's the reason she was able to subdue likes of Hakuba who was so fast he was particularly invisible.
Compare what she did with it before she joined the Straw Hats to after, and you see a pretty significant difference. She went from an extreme threat capable of dispatching hundreds of enemies to someone who almost never actually uses it's potential again.
What holds it back the most, for me, is how strong someone has to be to be strong with it. Learning to use it wouldn’t be that bad. It is fairly diverse, but you have to be a powerful person to make the fruit powerful. Whereas there are other fruits that even weak idiots can be powerful.
People are forgetting that the World Government was guarding Luffy's fruit extremely closely AND the Red Haired Pirates specifically went after it. It has more powers yet to be revealed, something that makes it extremely valuable/dangerous.
I think the strength of the toki toki no mi comes from the fact you can send not just yourself, but others into the future as well. For example, you're fighting someone way more powerful than you. You send them 5 years into the future. You now have 5 years to train, strategize, recruit allies, set traps etc, all while knowing exactly where and when your opponent is going to reappear. Alternatively you could just send your foe a thousand years into the future and just make them someone else's problem.
Better yet, send them to the end of the universe Or if it's a devil fruit user, send them some time into the future and put a large pool of water on where the devil fruit user will be
I actually think sakazuki’s fruit is even more broken than aokiji’s fruit, while aokiji could temporarily freeze the sea, sakazuki could theoretically create a whole island! Hell, he could create a whole new Redline! In a world made up of mostly ocean with a few islands, the control of lava is too OP
I definitely see Sakazuki doing that. If he can easily fling dozens of huge magma into the air like it's nothing he can surely fling a ton of magma into the ocean to create an island while evaporating the water.
@@Amira-rg3sk he was a decent user of his fruit but he completely lacked any fighting experience since his Fruit made him a literal god. he had no competition, no one to fight or train against, and was never really threatened so while his usage was good that was it. I like to see it as some guy training against a punching bag for years and polishing his technique but has never been in a fight.
Luffy makes good use of his fruit powers, but it's his haki that actually makes him strong. I feel like a lot of people forget it took him years of training to be able to throw an effective punch again. Compared to other fruits that give a ton of utility or make an average person a powerful combatant right after they consume it, the only immediate benefit of the Gomu-Gomu No Mi is immunity to blunt force trauma that doesn't involve haki or sea-stone. Definitely not a useless power, but easily outclassed by a ton of other fruits. Also, Sakazuki could pour magma into the ocean and wait for it to cool, allowing him to walk across the resulting rock formation. Definitely not as good as freezing the ocean and biking across it, but it's better than nothing.

I tried to make sure I wasn't knocking the character, but if we're comparing getting to be made of rubber to stuff like limited teleportation, turning people into toys and erasing all memories of them, being made out of fire/ice/magma/sand, invisibility, etc, it just isn't very good.

@@bucascameron Yes. I think that having above average strength is a Monkey family trait. Some of Luffy's overall strength comes from the added momentum his attacks get from his rubber powers, but I'd says it's like an 80/20 split between his natural strength and the boost from the gum gum powers. If he never ate the fruit and still trained hard and fought all the tough opponents he has in the series, he'd be about as strong as he currently is. I'd say the only obstacle he couldn't have overcome with the Gomu-Gomu No Mi powers was his fight vs Enel, but that's nothing to be ashamed of since Enel is basically impossible to beat without that specific set of powers or (maybe) insanely high endurance and conquerors/armament haki 2.0 (what they call Ryuo in Wano)
@@bucascameron this might be a bit of a hot take, but I'd take almost any other devil fruit power over the Gomu-Gomu No Mi. There's just almost no upside for the average person, though I guess you could become a professional wrestler (WWE style wrestling) and not have to worry about injuries.
I’ll be honest, I was surprised that Robin’s fruit was within the top 20 at first, but as we went on I found myself picking it over most of the higher ranked fruits - I guess because utility seems far more useful than most of the fight based fruit

This just occurred to me. Everyone have been speculating that Kaido's devil fruit had an underwhelming pre-evolved stage; that of a fish. What if the reason Vegapunk deemed the fish-fish fruit of his creation a failure because it skipped that pre-evolved stage to become the dragon directly? The assumption being that he is a perfectionist and wanted to replicate the fruit exactly.
fish fruit is actually op cuz it should be able to negate the water weakness since fish live in the water, which would actually make sense why kaido doesn't jump in the water to die

The best tasting devil fruit would be the Baku Baku No Mi for two reasons: -the first bite won’t be so nice, but once you gain the ability to eat anything, you won’t be put off by the taste anymore -secondly, after that first bite you’re given an insatiable hunger and things often taste better when you’re really hungry
I think that for the tastiest devil fruit there is gonna be a tie as well' 1- Mochi-Mochi No Mi ( Katakuri)- because its literally mochi 2-Tori-Tori No Mi (Model Phoenix) (Marco) because it was so tasty that it turned him into a pineapple

I'm really surprised that the Bari Bari No Mi didn't make it to the video. It's user is quite literally impenetrable, and we have yet to see a single flaw in it's powers. Beside the supreme defense, one could even use it to conjure a unbreakable weapon! It's also incredibly utilitarian outside of the battlefield (Barto even made stairs out of it - you could, for example, make some sort of platform and walk above the sea). In a warlike position, it's user could provide defense for a SHIT TON of people, and it was shown in Oden's flashback how it could be used as a political move. If you have someone to protect, or your foe is aiming a particular ally of yours, you could provide the perfect strategy!! If Barto was in marineford, Ace could very well be alive. In Ennies Lobby, Robin could have tactical advantage. In Wano, Momonosuke could be chilling!
There is a flaw. In Dressrosa he had to body-block for Robin because he was holding the stairs he made for her and couldn't conjure a second one. But yes, other than that it has insane utility!
Yo know what I realised if the Bari Bari no mi created a sword and clashed with zoro swords even if zoro used haki wouldn’t his swords break because the Bari Bari no mi is impenetrable so hitting it with the force of zoro strongest attack will surely break zoro swords but not the Bari Bari no mi swords are unbreakble so it would be like a fist punching titanium I wonder what is breaking

You forgot one Devil Fruit - Zoro's Lost Lost no mi allows one to warp space and time to change ones position in comparison to others giving the illusion of getting "lost". When fully awakened I hear it can stop time itself.
The quake quake fruit is kinda useful for everyday life, assuming he can make and control vibrations, he can actively remove any sound creating a perfectly peaceful home. Alternatively if something got stuck like a nail in a wall you could vibrate it out. Not to mention what else you could vibrate that would give you a good time...
The thing about Sugar’s fruit is that it doesn’t seem to have the same restriction of law’s fruit as she’s actively seen using it on people with conquerors Haki like chinjao & it was also implied that if Usopp failed to knock her out she also would’ve been able to turn Law & Luffy into toys… so it’s either she doesn’t have that restriction, or that Sugar has insane conqueror’s Haki for some reason.
Im fairly certain the reason she can use her fruit on powerful people is because they dont suspect it, and thus dont use any haki to defend theirself. And if they do use haki to defend themself she would have to have stronger haki or something idk. She would never be able to do anything to katakuri (since he will just protect himself), or Big Mom and Kaido (since they are somehow always protected presumably by their conquerors haki or something, except for extreme emotional instances with big mom, then it might work lol).
It doesnt work on characters with a constant haki flow like Big Mom, Kaido, Shanks, Whitebeard, etc. These monsters are constantly using haki even when asleep.
Im glad that other people also think so highly of the Zushi Zushi no Mi. It is my favorite fruit, there are so many usages for this fruit honestly. I think if you play gravity right, you could fly. I thought all the fruits tasted like garbo, but if I had to pick, Id pick the Candy Cany Fruit because it probably taste like candy, but if thats the case, the mochi mochi fruit would also taste similar.
When I was rating this list, I was always thinking to myself “okay, but can I actually use this thing in real life?” That’s no matter how “cool” they were, generally I’d be more willing to take my chances with the paramecia class then any of the logias. I don’t think the ability to turn into mud or fire sounds particularly good on a resume in my line of work.

If bootlickers were ever asked to pick a superpower they would pick it based on whether they would use it during their paid slavery time. SAD and UNBASED
Fire has many job applications: helping to melt metals, temperature regulation of buildings that can get too cold (and possibly too hot if you can absorb the fire), steam compatibility, anything requiring fire to ignite, etc. Mud can be used to help build barriers, help cheap free homes, etc. Its all down to the creativity of the user tbh. So it might not usable in your line of work, but you could be paid more by changing lines imo.
The Swamp-Swamp fruit, on the other hand, would be an incredibly useful logia to have. Infinite storage space for anything water-proof (including people if they’re fine with being submerged in goop) is incredibly useful, especially considering very large items can be stored with no added weight to the wielder. One could carry backpacks full of tech, expensive or delicate items like rare figurines or trading cards, or large things like appliances or tables anywhere they went without worrying about a limit or breaking/damaging any of it! All one would need is a hose or washcloth to wipe the items with afterwards, and even that might be able to be gotten around with enough training. Plus one would have all the normal logia advantages like the ability to squeeze into any given space and immunity to almost all non-haki-based damage.

Sakazuki's lava fruit does actually have more uses besides destroying everything. It creates molten lava, which after cooling down, is basically matter lying around. You can create things that way, perhaps not as sophisticated and detailed as the objects one can create with the wax-wax fruit from Mr 3, but you could still use it to create a whole island for example, or a giant wall, or simply raw material to use in order to build other things later on (houses etc). There's a theory that the red line is artificial and I'd argue that one of the possible scenarios of how it was created, is that a previous user of that fruit created this enormous mountain with his powers of lava.
After going through the comments and allowing a certain "Jon Doe" to influence my decision ("Given their origin, I think devil fruits' notoriously bad taste stems from them tasting like seasalt"), I think I would go for the mochi mochi no mi as the best tasting devil fruit, as it's already a dessert, and the seasalt flavor which supposedly inherently lies in devil fruits would add the flavor that we all need in order for it to make it as the best tasting devil fruit of all time.
Realisticly speaking, kin'emon's DF is the best. Imagine not having to waste money on clothes ever again, not having to change clothes, and always looking fashionable 😅 heck, you could become a fashion icon and make billions... that's the fruit you'll want! Also, you could dominate every costume contest.

I think the Mera Mera no mi tasted the best. Remember when Sanji said on the Baratie that the first meal that you eat after you’ve been staved for a long time will obviously taste great. Well, in the Ace novels. Both he, and Masked Deuce were stranded on an island for days before finding the Mera Mera and decided to split it. And IMO that must be the best a devil fruit has ever tasted.
Well, the best tasting devil fruit would be the Hague Hague fruit, it would taste like Cheesy and fishy goodness, simultaneously. A combination not many would want to try out, but one that turns out quite delicious!
If you think about it, the Magu Magu no Mi has the amazing ability to make your own personal Island. Also if there is a Fishman who can throw water on top of the island, you can make many detailed structures out of rocks.

My answer to the question, given I myself have never eaten a devil fruit, I would possibly say Katakuri's Mochi-Mochi no Mi is most likely the best tasting, given its dessert-like nature, it could taste less bitter and a bit more sweet, but still not pleasant
I’m glad Enel’s fruit got 1st how it works in the anime, it’s basically kizaru’s fruit but way better. It can move in a non-straight line, massive death beams from the sky, power technology, electricity can chain and hit multiple opponents. I mean sure light is faster, but at what point are you so fast that it doesn’t matter, you still look like you’re instantaneously moving to an outside viewer.
yep i agree. It's much more versatile than what kizaru's fruit has shown so far. a really big one is that it can fuse with your observation haki, it's nuts!
the lightning fruit is arguably the best fruit in the series because of how versatile but still over powered it is and as long as you don't run into a rubber man you're pretty much going to dominate with it
I'm really surprised the Horo-Horo no mi didn't crack the top 20. It allows you to fly, astral project + manipulate your body with astral projection, and lets you create and control ghosts that can depress people or explode. The Strawhats absolutely would've lost Thriller Bark if Usopp wasn't a direct counter to Perona and her fruit.
A smart user of that fruit could do some serious damage with it and they would be at zero risk so I agree they don’t even have to worry about getting hurt as long as they keep their body far away and protected by trusted allies
The most underrated and the most useful devil fruit in real life is the one that cp9(i think his name is blueno) use. Its the door door nomi. Imagine never being late plus you have your own dimension when you are inside of it.
Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Bake-danuki held by Pato Best fruit of all. Can summon objects or people even yonkous or admirals.(including their devil fruit powers)
QOTD: The best tasting devil fruit has to be the Yami-Yami No Mi because it made Blackbeard the first One Piece character to go out and seek more devil fruits to eat.
Assuming that the flavour of DFs has something to do with the abilities that the fruits grant, if we were to cook a Zoan fruit before consuming it, we could argue that it's flavour would end up being somewhat tasty. With that said,it is possible that a combination between the Ushi Ushi no Mi and Tama Tama no Mi could be considered as the greatest meal ever, that only Blackbeard would be able to enjoy and defy if what I said is truth or not.
I like to imagine devil fruits taste like really bad versions of whatever power you get. Like Luffy's Gomu Gomu would taste like burnt rubber and Buggy's fruit would taste like the concept of getting your woohoo chopped off. So I think the best tasting fruit would be a pizza pizza fruit cause even the worst pizza is still pizza.
I think Gravity would be better than light tbh (following physics). If both had no limitations I’m pretty sure gravity could out do light by bending space-time etc Black holes bend light with gravity alone too
It really depends on the reach of the Goro Goro no Mi I mean, if we think of physics, light is just an specific movement in the electromagnetic field, so... how deep can the Goro Goro alter the field? Could it override the Pika Pika no Mi effects or, in the other hand, can only produce electrons/protons (alter the charge)? Following "One Piece Rules" I'd say in a basis Pika Pika > Goro Goro (default speed of light > default speed of anything with mass), but practice would give the win to the Goro Goro

Hobi Hobi no Mi is a hard one for me to rate because it’s undeniably powerful but also one of the powers I would least want to have myself. To utilize it at all, let alone for basic day to day utility purposes, you have to be a sociopathic monster. And that’s not mentioning the under-explored butterfly effects you would be creating every time you wiped the entire world’s memory of someone’s existence.
This devil fruit is stupid and highly dangerous and complicated I would never want this fruit only good thing is aging is stopped . Just think of removing someones existence form world it's horrible

I’m really sad to not see the barrier barrier fruit on here because as far as we know the barriers cannot be destroyed no matter what as long as the user is crossing both of his fingers so in theory the user could also trap any opponent inside the barrier and then crushed them inside it and they would be left helpless or he could permanently defend himself sure right of now the barriers that the user crates is set to a certain size but if the user improves maybe you can even make them bigger or what could possibly be the awakening of it
I was about to write the same. It is SO underrated. It is probably the best defense Fruit with the Capabilities of being extremely strong in offense too. We have seen that it can be shaped, so imagine a bari bari no mi sword or smth like this. Also its awakening could make it even more powerful

Paw Paw fruit should be higher. The ability to remove abstract concepts from things and add them to other things has literally limitless potential. Add lightspeed travel, perfect attack reflect, and infinite lightspeed projectiles on top of that and it's really just no contest.
It's interesting that Enel looked like he was in gear 4th at the end of Skypiea. He's already based on the Japanese God of lightning. What if gear fifth is roughly based on the Japanese God of the Sun with a bit of Nika mixed in? He's already got the fire to make her fiery halo! It's possible, even if not probable! lol
I definitely think gear 5 will be luffy heating up and hardening his own rubber using the friction of his own rubber, perhaps during his fight with king.

Question of the day: Id say the best tasting devil fruit would have to be Strusen's devil fruit the Kuku Kuku no mi. Its said that nothing he turns into food with this ability tastes good, but does provide nourishment. Since devil fruits are all described as being awful tasting, i could see this one possibly tasting good since it also has the negative side effect of making all food made from the fruit's ability taste bad. The Worst tasting devil fruit would easily be Blackbeard's yami yami no mi. It just screams " I taste EXACTLY like black licorice"
Robin's fruit is usually very underrated, and I'm really glad to see it made into the top 20 at least. It's so ridiculously versatile and potentially so broken. If the fruit taste like (maybe spoiled/off) versions of the powers they give, I can see why everyone thinks they taste horrible. However, Perosopero's Pero Pero no Mi would still taste pretty damn good. I've had some odd candy and enjoyed them, so maybe that fruit would be the best tasting one.
Robin's is both the most underrated and also the least explored. Like her main weakness from her power is that she feels whenever her copied limbs take damage and those copied parts still count as part of her for abilities that effect her whole body like the Hobi Hobi fruit. To counter her main weakness she should just study with Chopper a little and instead of copying her entire limb, build limbs out of a few skin, muscle and bone cells. Would it be more complicated? Yes but think about it, if Robin copied the same say 2 inch by 2 inch patch of skin to cover an entire replicated limb instead of copying all her arm's skin and the copy got attacked by Akainu she would just feel burns on that 2 inch by 2 inch patch instead of her whole arm, the pain would be exponentially more bearable. Plus we can't discount copying bone cells, bones are pretty durable and if you can grow bone cells into any shape you want you could make blades or spears out of them for your copied arms to use, Robin could literally grow an arm on someone's shoulder, grow a bone knife in its hand and have the arm slit their throat before they could react. Plus if she did some anatomy study with Chopper Robin could potentially grow limbs inside her opponents too, Robin's limits on her limb growing is she mainly needs to know where in relation to her the limb will sprout (that's why in a movie she had trouble locking down a really speedy character since he was moving really fast in the shadows so she didn't know exactly where she needed to grow her limbs), so there's no reason she couldn't grow an arm in someone's throat to suffocate them, or in their lung to rip apart their lungs from the inside out, or going back to if she learns to grow bone blades/spears she could grow bone spears inside the chambers of an enemy's heart for an instant kill. We know Robin can grow limbs to displace air and fluids no issues since she can grow them underwater or in open air, she just can't grow inside solid objects so if she knew a person's anatomy there's no reason she couldn't grow something inside their body cavities or other fluid filled spaces to cause massive internal damage.
I was watching the Mochi mochi ranking part and thought how I would use it if I had it. Then it occurred to me if that mochi had dairy or egg in it, considering I am very allergic to it. Then that thought made me think of what if Oda, did a gag character that had like a super overpowered food devil fruit, but they could never use it because they were allergic. Kinda like a reverse foxy. It seems really cool and useful but as soon as they use it they are out for the count. Double as funny if Oda would treat it like the DFU strawhats jumping in the water to save people joke where its recurring and they forget it.
I don't know why but I could see aces devil fruit actually being one of the best tasting because think about it you get both sweetness and spiciness at the same time and who doesn't like that I can understand if you don't like spicy foods but that's the only problem I can see about Ace's devil fruit
The best devil fruit would have to be the model phoenix, BUT only when it was eaten by Marco. With himself being a fruit, he would be able to connect with the fruit emotionally allowing the fruit to taste like however it wanted to taste because it liked Marco enough to change for him
I thought Magallen just got sick because he eats poison. His devil fruit seems to be the most OP. He defeated everyone he encountered. He alone controls Impel Down which has prisoners so dangerous even 1 can threaten the world. It doesn’t just poison it can melt things, it makes him untouchable, as Haki doesn’t protect you from poison. And he can travel across the ocean with it as we saw how he used his Hydras. The only thing that may stop him is Kuma as I’d he can remove pain from someone I’m sure he could remove the poison. But he’s still have to touch them. Keep in mind he is so strong he didn’t use his awakening until after they got to the top floor. Imagine if he used it right away. He may not be a logia, but he just needs to use Haki to catch someone. But his poison spreads on inanimate / no living objects. It’s insanely OP. Even those that are immune to poison get burned / melted with his awakening. Perfect fruit placed perfectly. Originally I hoped he would become one of the new admirals. As he was a pretty nice guy & fair guy who believed being a marine doesn’t make you judge Jury & Executioner punishing and locking up his partner. But his strength is required to keep such dangerous people in check.
I'd like to use this opportunity to say that Mangelan is by far the most underrated character in Onepiece, when it comes to power, because every time I see a conversation about who are the most powerful characters in that universe, I don't remember seeing him pop up. Everyone talks about the yonko and the admirals, but I don't hear a peep about this guy. Mangelan defeated Blackbeard and his entire crew, nearly killing them (they would have died if Shiriu hadn't deux ex machinaed his way in) without breaking a sweat. Now remember, Blackbeard is a yonko! He might have not been back then, but the only difference was that he simply didn't have the title of a yonko yet. Power-wise, there wasn't much difference (other than having a second devil fruit) since he was crowned a yonko right after that arc. So it's not like he met Blackbeard twenty years ago or something, when he was a wee lad who couldn't fight, before he had haki or a devil fruit or anything else. Basically this guy solo-beat a yonko AND his entire crew. I'd argue he's up there with the admirals, if not even higher. I don't know if it's him or just his devil fruit, but it seems like the job was primarily done due to the devil fruit, which makes it insanely powerful. I only wonder why isn't Ceasar as capable, since he has the same power, plus his is a logia. I guess Mangelan as a person should be praised then because apparently it's not just the devil fruit on its' own that did the deed.

I think the barrier barrier fruit would be a top contender seeing as it makes a literal invincible barrier. Yes the drawback is that 1) you have to cross your fingers and 2) it can only be 1 barrier with limited mass/space, but if used as armor with hinges so the barrier is always touching, then you would be invincible
A lot of the devil fruit powers seem to be based on the creativity of the user. Luffy is a great example of that, even if being made of rubber isn't the best power in general. He used the rubber, not just to bounce, but to inflate his bones, and muscles, to increase his circulation to move faster. To generate heat and fire, and so much more. To the creative mind, almost any devil's fruit could be the best.
well true, but luffy's devil fruit is a much stronger fruit than we initially thought. We still don't know exacly why, but it was heavily guarded by the marines before shanks got it. There's still plenty we don't know about the fruit

Kuku Kuku no mi (Streusen, Big Mom's chef) is the best tasting devil fruit. I mean, if this devil fruit is supposed to give you the ability to turn anything into food, it must have some sort of differing food taste from the other devil fruits. If most devil fruits taste abhorrently bad, this one would possibly have a neutral taste, a devil fruit that's neither good or bad.
The best tasting Devil Fruit is hands down the Jake Jake no mi, since the power it gives is so useless and detrimental that it's taste is mind blowingly delicious to compensate for it, therefore tempting you in the same way an actual devil would. Moving on to the video I've been so hyped for this video ever since I took that survey and I'm pleasantly surprised by the results. I expected the Goro Goro no mi to get first place but I never expected there to be a tie. Also say what you will about the Mera Mera no mi and it's users but I'm happy that it ranked so well out of all Devil Fruits

The Kuku Kuku no Mi is easily the tastiest Devil fruit. May not be super tasty initially for the user but anyone around after is most likely going to reap the benefits of its tasty use.
Honestly, if I had to choose a single devil fruit to eat IRL, it would have to be the Goro Goro no mi. Mainly because lightning is my favorite element, and it can travel at a speed comparable to the Pika Pika no mi, but has directional control instead of a straight line. Toki Toki is WERIDLY high, like yes it lets you jump forwards in time with no drawbacks EXCEPT for one HUGE one: you can ONLY go forwards. So basically you can spring forwards in time to leave your problems behind, but all your loved ones will age with you just kinda missing until you reappear however many years down the line you jumped forwards to.
I already knew it was going to be Goro-Goro no mi at the top. It provides so many benefits and turns you into a literal god being. Even though it has one natural enemy (Luffy). However, I am surprised that the Stone-Stone fruit and Sand-Sand fruit didn't make it too the list. As they are both overpowered fruits also.
Even though it wasn't in the top 20 at all, I still love the Baku Baku no mi. Being able to eat anything, and gain it's powers essentially gives you access to thousands of devil fruit powers, albeit it in a more limited form. The fact you can also combine other people, or combine objects permanently, also is extremely valuable. Not only does it let you perform spur of the moment adaptations to any enemy, but with the ability to create items, someone who wants to go a more batman approach and very tech and prep oriented can also thrive here. Though the best part imo is how great for civilian life this is. I mean, Wapol went from a homeless bum to an international celebrity that was given his own kingdom thanks to this fruits ability to create completely new materials. Also the cost savings you can produce from this are absurd, since you can always make your own products by just buying the base materials, and skipping all the middlemen.

Or is it just a mild amount of hunger that can be easily ignored? Remember that Wapol is extremely selfish and greedy. At no point in the story is he shown to be someone who has restraint. If he wants something he immediately goes for it, regardless of how it impacts others. So judging the downside based solely on Wapol is a bad idea imo. It's not as if we've ever seen Wapol starve and wither away for not eating constantly... he's just complained about being hungry.

...just had a thought but could the Magma Magma fruit be used to make land/islands? if so that would make it way more powerful, doubly so if its awakened form allows the user to control magma/lava they don't generate. Additionally, depending on if they have to breathe or not it might allow the user to go into the planet/be immune to magma/lava, which is kinda terrifying given they could just make volcanos at that point. Also, the magma fruit user should also be immune to the sea as the cold cold user, but in a much much more devastating way. Hot magma + water = steam, steam is not a body of water as defined by devil fruits so...as long as the magma magma user stays hot they should be sheathed in a suit of steam and not touching the ocean directly, its the same principle that allows people to dip their hands into liquid lead. of course steam is also many times the volume of water so...it could/would also result in a massive steam explosion depending on how much juice the user puts into it. So really tossing Akinu into the ocean is probably suicide via steam explosion.

There's never been another example of a fish-fish fruit of any kind, and I always assumed that it would be non-existant or useless because of the whole devil fruit-water problem. At the same time, I've always wondered why Kaido, with his massive desire to die, never just dove into the sea to drown. Makes me wonder if Kaido is still able to swim because of his fruit, and maybe if all fish-fish fruits carry that bonus

I think that’s unlikely. We’ve seen Jack at the bottom of the ocean, who was immobile, but wouldn’t die. He would lose his ability to swim up to the surface, but he wouldn’t be able to die. It’s possible that he can breathe underwater, but I don’t think he can swim.

Given their origin, I think devil fruits' notoriously bad taste stems from them tasting like seasalt and I imagine Yuki Yuki no Mi's snowy quality would by extension make it taste like seasalt ice cream, which is a suprisingly tasty combination, so that would be my response.

Robins fruit is AMAZING. Imagine if Garp had her fruit. Imagine Tons of King Kong size hands imbued with haki on the battlefield. Garp alone could've cleared Marineford, including the Yonko Commanders, EASILY.
Let's not forget that in one of the One Piece movies it gave credence to Robin creating even larger limbs, Gran Fleur.
Then the fruit gives you psuedo observation haki, duplicating eyes and ears across the battlefield. You can fly (it was only limited by Robin's stamina). You can create clones. You could probably teleport as Robin kinda did that in Wano. And this is ALL WITHOUT Awakening. Robin has one of the most powerful and underrated Devil Fruits of the series. I never understood why her devil fruit didn't have a bounty on it like Law's. Heck, if Oda wanted to, he could allow it to sprout limbs inside an opponent's body.
[Update] : She could probably create a chainsaw using armament haki like when she blocked the hits from Yama and Gecko Moria. She can also probably create a shield, similarly to how she did against Trebol with that Rock, but rather with a big hand using armament haki.

What holds it back the most, for me, is how strong someone has to be to be strong with it. Learning to use it wouldn’t be that bad. It is fairly diverse, but you have to be a powerful person to make the fruit powerful. Whereas there are other fruits that even weak idiots can be powerful.
People are forgetting that the World Government was guarding Luffy's fruit extremely closely AND the Red Haired Pirates specifically went after it. It has more powers yet to be revealed, something that makes it extremely valuable/dangerous.

I think the strength of the toki toki no mi comes from the fact you can send not just yourself, but others into the future as well.
For example, you're fighting someone way more powerful than you. You send them 5 years into the future. You now have 5 years to train, strategize, recruit allies, set traps etc, all while knowing exactly where and when your opponent is going to reappear. Alternatively you could just send your foe a thousand years into the future and just make them someone else's problem.
Toki toki is lame fruit. We are all moving forward in time all the time.

Luffy makes good use of his fruit powers, but it's his haki that actually makes him strong. I feel like a lot of people forget it took him years of training to be able to throw an effective punch again. Compared to other fruits that give a ton of utility or make an average person a powerful combatant right after they consume it, the only immediate benefit of the Gomu-Gomu No Mi is immunity to blunt force trauma that doesn't involve haki or sea-stone. Definitely not a useless power, but easily outclassed by a ton of other fruits.
Also, Sakazuki could pour magma into the ocean and wait for it to cool, allowing him to walk across the resulting rock formation. Definitely not as good as freezing the ocean and biking across it, but it's better than nothing.

@@bucascameron Yes. I think that having above average strength is a Monkey family trait. Some of Luffy's overall strength comes from the added momentum his attacks get from his rubber powers, but I'd says it's like an 80/20 split between his natural strength and the boost from the gum gum powers. If he never ate the fruit and still trained hard and fought all the tough opponents he has in the series, he'd be about as strong as he currently is. I'd say the only obstacle he couldn't have overcome with the Gomu-Gomu No Mi powers was his fight vs Enel, but that's nothing to be ashamed of since Enel is basically impossible to beat without that specific set of powers or (maybe) insanely high endurance and conquerors/armament haki 2.0 (what they call Ryuo in Wano)

What if the reason Vegapunk deemed the fish-fish fruit of his creation a failure because it skipped that pre-evolved stage to become the dragon directly? I'm really surprised that the Bari Bari No Mi didn't make it to the video. It's user is quite literally impenetrable, and we have yet to see a single flaw in it's powers. Beside the supreme defense, one could even use it to conjure a unbreakable weapon! It's also incredibly utilitarian outside of the battlefield (Barto even made stairs out of it - you could, for example, make some sort of platform and walk above the sea). In a warlike position, it's user could provide defense for a SHIT TON of people, and it was shown in Oden's flashback how it could be used as a political move. If you have someone to protect, or your foe is aiming a particular ally of yours, you could provide the perfect strategy!! If Barto was in marineford, Ace could very well be alive. In Ennies Lobby, Robin could have tactical advantage. In Wano, Momonosuke could be chilling!
There is a flaw. In Dressrosa he had to body-block for Robin because he was holding the stairs he made for her and couldn't conjure a second one. But yes, other than that it has insane utility!
I mean there is a limit to the total volume he can conjure, but given that it is truly umbreakable, I have it a 10.
Yo know what I realised if the Bari Bari no mi created a sword and clashed with zoro swords even if zoro used haki wouldn’t his swords break because the Bari Bari no mi is impenetrable so hitting it with the force of zoro strongest attack will surely break zoro swords but not the Bari Bari no mi swords are unbreakble so it would be like a fist punching titanium I wonder what is breaking

The thing about Sugar’s fruit is that it doesn’t seem to have the same restriction of law’s fruit as she’s actively seen using it on people with conquerors Haki like chinjao & it was also implied that if Usopp failed to knock her out she also would’ve been able to turn Law & Luffy into toys… so it’s either she doesn’t have that restriction, or that Sugar has insane conqueror’s Haki for some reason.

Im fairly certain the reason she can use her fruit on powerful people is because they dont suspect it, and thus dont use any haki to defend theirself. And if they do use haki to defend themself she would have to have stronger haki or something idk. She would never be able to do anything to katakuri (since he will just protect himself), or Big Mom and Kaido (since they are somehow always protected presumably by their conquerors haki or something, except for extreme emotional instances with big mom, then it might work lol).
It doesnt work on characters with a constant haki flow like Big Mom, Kaido, Shanks, Whitebeard, etc. These monsters are constantly using haki even when asleep.

When I was rating this list, I was always thinking to myself “okay, but can I actually use this thing in real life?” That’s no matter how “cool” they were, generally I’d be more willing to take my chances with the paramecia class then any of the logias. I don’t think the ability to turn into mud or fire sounds particularly good on a resume in my line of work.

Fire has many job applications: helping to melt metals, temperature regulation of buildings that can get too cold (and possibly too hot if you can absorb the fire), steam compatibility, anything requiring fire to ignite, etc. Mud can be used to help build barriers, help cheap free homes, etc. Its all down to the creativity of the user tbh. So it might not usable in your line of work, but you could be paid more by changing lines imo.
The Swamp-Swamp fruit, on the other hand, would be an incredibly useful logia to have. Infinite storage space for anything water-proof (including people if they’re fine with being submerged in goop) is incredibly useful, especially considering very large items can be stored with no added weight to the wielder. One could carry backpacks full of tech, expensive or delicate items like rare figurines or trading cards, or large things like appliances or tables anywhere they went without worrying about a limit or breaking/damaging any of it! All one would need is a hose or washcloth to wipe the items with afterwards, and even that might be able to be gotten around with enough training. Plus one would have all the normal logia advantages like the ability to squeeze into any given space and immunity to almost all non-haki-based damage.

Sakazuki's lava fruit does actually have more uses besides destroying everything.
It creates molten lava, which after cooling down, is basically matter lying around. You can create things that way, perhaps not as sophisticated and detailed as the objects one can create with the wax-wax fruit from Mr 3, but you could still use it to create a whole island for example, or a giant wall, or simply raw material to use in order to build other things later on (houses etc).
There's a theory that the red line is artificial and I'd argue that one of the possible scenarios of how it was created, is that a previous user of that fruit created this enormous mountain with his powers of lava.

After going through the comments and allowing a certain "Jon Doe" to influence my decision ("Given their origin, I think devil fruits' notoriously bad taste stems from them tasting like seasalt"), I think I would go for the mochi mochi no mi as the best tasting devil fruit, as it's already a dessert, and the seasalt flavor which supposedly inherently lies in devil fruits would add the flavor that we all need in order for it to make it as the best tasting devil fruit of all time.

I’m glad Enel’s fruit got 1st how it works in the anime, it’s basically kizaru’s fruit but way better. It can move in a non-straight line, massive death beams from the sky, power technology, electricity can chain and hit multiple opponents. I mean sure light is faster, but at what point are you so fast that it doesn’t matter, you still look like you’re instantaneously moving to an outside viewer.

I'm really surprised the Horo-Horo no mi didn't crack the top 20. It allows you to fly, astral project + manipulate your body with astral projection, and lets you create and control ghosts that can depress people or explode. The Strawhats absolutely would've lost Thriller Bark if Usopp wasn't a direct counter to Perona and her fruit.

Hobi Hobi no Mi is a hard one for me to rate because it’s undeniably powerful but also one of the powers I would least want to have myself. To utilize it at all, let alone for basic day to day utility purposes, you have to be a sociopathic monster. And that’s not mentioning the under-explored butterfly effects you would be creating every time you wiped the entire world’s memory of someone’s existence.
This devil fruit is stupid and highly dangerous and complicated I would never want this fruit only good thing is aging is stopped . Just think of removing someones existence form world it's horrible

I’m really sad to not see the barrier barrier fruit on here because as far as we know the barriers cannot be destroyed no matter what as long as the user is crossing both of his fingers so in theory the user could also trap any opponent inside the barrier and then crushed them inside it and they would be left helpless or he could permanently defend himself sure right of now the barriers that the user crates is set to a certain size but if the user improves maybe you can even make them bigger or what could possibly be the awakening of it

The Kuku Kuku no mi is the best tasting one, because you could eat one piece of it and turn the rest of the fruit into any food, with any taste.
You don't need to eat the rest though, since you already got the power.

Question of the day: Id say the best tasting devil fruit would have to be Strusen's devil fruit the Kuku Kuku no mi. Its said that nothing he turns into food with this ability tastes good, but does provide nourishment. Since devil fruits are all described as being awful tasting, i could see this one possibly tasting good since it also has the negative side effect of making all food made from the fruit's ability taste bad. The Worst tasting devil fruit would easily be Blackbeard's yami yami no mi. It just screams " I taste EXACTLY like black licorice"
Robin's fruit is usually very underrated, and I'm really glad to see it made into the top 20 at least. It's so ridiculously versatile and potentially so broken.
If the fruit taste like (maybe spoiled/off) versions of the powers they give, I can see why everyone thinks they taste horrible. However, Perosopero's Pero Pero no Mi would still taste pretty damn good. I've had some odd candy and enjoyed them, so maybe that fruit would be the best tasting one.
Robin's is both the most underrated and also the least explored. Like her main weakness from her power is that she feels whenever her copied limbs take damage and those copied parts still count as part of her for abilities that effect her whole body like the Hobi Hobi fruit. To counter her main weakness she should just study with Chopper a little and instead of copying her entire limb, build limbs out of a few skin, muscle and bone cells. Would it be more complicated? Yes but think about it, if Robin copied the same say 2 inch by 2 inch patch of skin to cover an entire replicated limb instead of copying all her arm's skin and the copy got attacked by Akainu she would just feel burns on that 2 inch by 2 inch patch instead of her whole arm, the pain would be exponentially more bearable. Plus we can't discount copying bone cells, bones are pretty durable and if you can grow bone cells into any shape you want you could make blades or spears out of them for your copied arms to use, Robin could literally grow an arm on someone's shoulder, grow a bone knife in its hand and have the arm slit their throat before they could react. Plus if she did some anatomy study with Chopper Robin could potentially grow limbs inside her opponents too, Robin's limits on her limb growing is she mainly needs to know where in relation to her the limb will sprout (that's why in a movie she had trouble locking down a really speedy character since he was moving really fast in the shadows so she didn't know exactly where she needed to grow her limbs), so there's no reason she couldn't grow an arm in someone's throat to suffocate them, or in their lung to rip apart their lungs from the inside out, or going back to if she learns to grow bone blades/spears she could grow bone spears inside the chambers of an enemy's heart for an instant kill. We know Robin can grow limbs to displace air and fluids no issues since she can grow them underwater or in open air, she just can't grow inside solid objects so if she knew a person's anatomy there's no reason she couldn't grow something inside their body cavities or other fluid filled spaces to cause massive internal damage.
I was watching the Mochi mochi ranking part and thought how I would use it if I had it. Then it occurred to me if that mochi had dairy or egg in it, considering I am very allergic to it. Then that thought made me think of what if Oda, did a gag character that had like a super overpowered food devil fruit, but they could never use it because they were allergic. Kinda like a reverse foxy. It seems really cool and useful but as soon as they use it they are out for the count. Double as funny if Oda would treat it like the DFU strawhats jumping in the water to save people joke where its recurring and they forget it.

His devil fruit seems to be the most OP. He defeated everyone he encountered. He alone controls Impel Down which has prisoners so dangerous even 1 can threaten the world.
It doesn’t just poison it can melt things, it makes him untouchable, as Haki doesn’t protect you from poison.
And he can travel across the ocean with it as we saw how he used his Hydras.
The only thing that may stop him is Kuma as I’d he can remove pain from someone I’m sure he could remove the poison. But he’s still have to touch them. Keep in mind he is so strong he didn’t use his awakening until after they got to the top floor. Imagine if he used it right away.
He may not be a logia, but he just needs to use Haki to catch someone. But his poison spreads on inanimate / no living objects. It’s insanely OP.

As he was a pretty nice guy & fair guy who believed being a marine doesn’t make you judge Jury & Executioner punishing and locking up his partner. I'd like to use this opportunity to say that Mangelan is by far the most underrated character in Onepiece, when it comes to power, because every time I see a conversation about who are the most powerful characters in that universe, I don't remember seeing him pop up. Everyone talks about the yonko and the admirals, but I don't hear a peep about this guy.
Mangelan defeated Blackbeard and his entire crew, nearly killing them (they would have died if Shiriu hadn't deux ex machinaed his way in) without breaking a sweat.
Now remember, Blackbeard is a yonko! He might have not been back then, but the only difference was that he simply didn't have the title of a yonko yet. Power-wise, there wasn't much difference (other than having a second devil fruit) since he was crowned a yonko right after that arc. So it's not like he met Blackbeard twenty years ago or something, when he was a wee lad who couldn't fight, before he had haki or a devil fruit or anything else.
Basically this guy solo-beat a yonko AND his entire crew. I'd argue he's up there with the admirals, if not even higher. I don't know if it's him or just his devil fruit, but it seems like the job was primarily done due to the devil fruit, which makes it insanely powerful.
I only wonder why isn't Ceasar as capable, since he has the same power, plus his is a logia. I guess Mangelan as a person should be praised then because apparently it's not just the devil fruit on its' own that did the deed.

I think the barrier barrier fruit would be a top contender seeing as it makes a literal invincible barrier. Yes the drawback is that 1) you have to cross your fingers and 2) it can only be 1 barrier with limited mass/space, but if used as armor with hinges so the barrier is always touching, then you would be invincible

A lot of the devil fruit powers seem to be based on the creativity of the user. Luffy is a great example of that, even if being made of rubber isn't the best power in general.
He used the rubber, not just to bounce, but to inflate his bones, and muscles, to increase his circulation to move faster. To generate heat and fire, and so much more. To the creative mind, almost any devil's fruit could be the best.

well true, but luffy's devil fruit is a much stronger fruit than we initially thought. We still don't know exacly why, but it was heavily guarded by the marines before shanks got it. There's still plenty we don't know about the fruit

Kuku Kuku no mi (Streusen, Big Mom's chef) is the best tasting devil fruit. I mean, if this devil fruit is supposed to give you the ability to turn anything into food, it must have some sort of differing food taste from the other devil fruits. If most devil fruits taste abhorrently bad, this one would possibly have a neutral taste, a devil fruit that's neither good or bad.
The best tasting Devil Fruit is hands down the Jake Jake no mi, since the power it gives is so useless and detrimental that it's taste is mind blowingly delicious to compensate for it, therefore tempting you in the same way an actual devil would.
Moving on to the video I've been so hyped for this video ever since I took that survey and I'm pleasantly surprised by the results. I expected the Goro Goro no mi to get first place but I never expected there to be a tie. Also say what you will about the Mera Mera no mi and it's users but I'm happy that it ranked so well out of all Devil Fruits
I'm glad the Goru Goru No Mi got 1st place because it is my favorite fruit. I personally think Eneru is the most underrated villain in the series, but all of my fellow One Piece viewing friends think that Eneru and his powers aren't anything special

My personal fav is marco's devil fruit not only that u can use it on transport for flight, it can in theory make you immortal as this devil fruit constantly heals u, can heal your love ones, comrades etc. I think with that kind of healing, u can even try to fly to space haha

I've always held the thought that the Hobi Hobi no mi freezes your age because... well... Hobbies take time. A dedicated hobbyist will spend years on their hobby of choice. Eternal youth would certainly aid with the time you'd be able to invest in said hobby
Also, a utility of the magu magu no mi is to make islands. He can offload magma to create land masses. Mayhaps that's how they were able to relocate Marineford so readily
The Kuku Kuku no Mi is easily the tastiest Devil fruit. May not be super tasty initially for the user but anyone around after is most likely going to reap the benefits of its tasty use.
Honestly, if I had to choose a single devil fruit to eat IRL, it would have to be the Goro Goro no mi. Mainly because lightning is my favorite element, and it can travel at a speed comparable to the Pika Pika no mi, but has directional control instead of a straight line.
Edit: I think that the mochi mochi no mi would be the least disgusting devil fruit to eat.
Toki Toki is WERIDLY high, like yes it lets you jump forwards in time with no drawbacks EXCEPT for one HUGE one: you can ONLY go forwards. So basically you can spring forwards in time to leave your problems behind, but all your loved ones will age with you just kinda missing until you reappear however many years down the line you jumped forwards to.
I already knew it was going to be Goro-Goro no mi at the top. It provides so many benefits and turns you into a literal god being. Even though it has one natural enemy (Luffy). However, I am surprised that the Stone-Stone fruit and Sand-Sand fruit didn't make it too the list. As they are both overpowered fruits also.

Even though it wasn't in the top 20 at all, I still love the Baku Baku no mi.
Being able to eat anything, and gain it's powers essentially gives you access to thousands of devil fruit powers, albeit it in a more limited form. The fact you can also combine other people, or combine objects permanently, also is extremely valuable. Not only does it let you perform spur of the moment adaptations to any enemy, but with the ability to create items, someone who wants to go a more batman approach and very tech and prep oriented can also thrive here.
Though the best part imo is how great for civilian life this is. I mean, Wapol went from a homeless bum to an international celebrity that was given his own kingdom thanks to this fruits ability to create completely new materials. Also the cost savings you can produce from this are absurd, since you can always make your own products by just buying the base materials, and skipping all the middlemen.
But you need to eat all the time so...

Remember that Wapol is extremely selfish and greedy. At no point in the story is he shown to be someone who has restraint. If he wants something he immediately goes for it, regardless of how it impacts others.
So judging the downside based solely on Wapol is a bad idea imo. It's not as if we've ever seen Wapol starve and wither away for not eating constantly... he's just complained about being hungry.

...just had a thought but could the Magma Magma fruit be used to make land/islands? if so that would make it way more powerful, doubly so if its awakened form allows the user to control magma/lava they don't generate. Additionally, depending on if they have to breathe or not it might allow the user to go into the planet/be immune to magma/lava, which is kinda terrifying given they could just make volcanos at that point. Also, the magma fruit user should also be immune to the sea as the cold cold user, but in a much much more devastating way. Hot magma + water = steam, steam is not a body of water as defined by devil fruits so...as long as the magma magma user stays hot they should be sheathed in a suit of steam and not touching the ocean directly, its the same principle that allows people to dip their hands into liquid lead. of course steam is also many times the volume of water so...it could/would also result in a massive steam explosion depending on how much juice the user puts into it. So really tossing Akinu into the ocean is probably suicide via steam explosion.
My favourite devil fruit is Ceasars fruit. It just seems so amazing to be able to control all types of gasses
His fruit is interesting because it's only as strong as the person is smart. You can go from cleaning the air to Agent Orange within seconds.
