I just enjoyed Burning White for the second time and I found the late stage reveal of pertinent lore was not a problem when the experience is a reinvigoration of understood plot developments. Corvan Fuckin Danavis. "Honor, Privilege. All the shit."

Knowing nothing about Brent Weeks when coming in, he seems like a pretty cool dude. Don't think he has to worry too much about not being a good speaker or good at the media circuit. I need to check out his books.
You really should, honestly one of the best fantasy books I've read in recent times, complex characters, even the bad guys are sympathetic, and the good guys are flawed, and the magic system and world building are brilliant.

@@barrynzay I'd disagree. I'm a huge fan of Lightbringer but Night Angel bored me to tears. Didn't get past book 2. I wouldn't have read Lightbringer at all if I didn't do it before Night Angel.

Brent Weeks is such and good author and an interesting guy. Lightbringer is such a great series I am excited and sad to see it end.

Brent is the man. Night Angel trilogoy is one of my favorite series of all time.
Lost my composure for a second when I saw Brent weeks was who you were interviewing. Night angel was my introduction into more mature fantasy (had previously only gotten to read YA) so I was excited to watch this. Also I know some people think you will review Sanderson if you do.....well prepare for a swarm of new subscribers.
An interview I have never expected but is excited to watch.
*Edit:* 50 minutes in and I thought this interview could not get any better and then:

i'm at the half of the interview, where Brent Weeks start asking questions he collected, and now i realize why Daniel switched the positions of the author and himself in this video. this is basically Brent Weeks interviewing Daniel instead of the opposite. and i find it hilarious.
His series is on my list after I catch up WOT and Malazan
I've put Malazan on hold after book 3. I haven't read Lightbringer yet, but Night Angel is a pretty quick read and I really enjoyed it

@@dudewhat9329 I'm going to move my Calibre library out of Dropbox and redo it probably on a self-hosted Calibre server. I don't wanna be mod book when it happens, that's one reason.
The other is I'm just too busy to put that much time into it.

@@dudewhat9329 Calibre is a program to manage ebook libraries, so instead of having to make a Kindle collection called Wheel of Time and putting the 14 books in there in the right order, I just pull down Metadata from Goodreads (or any other source) and it tags the books as Series: Wheel of Time, Series Number: 1-14, so when I download my books into a reader app like Marvin for iOS or Moon Reader+ for android, and sort by Author > series > series number, Wheel of Time will be in J in the right order.
I did have my Calibre library in Dropbox, but since Dropbox has now limited free users to only 3 devices, I'm moving all my stuff out of Dropbox and onto my NAS.

Hey Brent asked my question about trends!!! 😄. Lol but great video man. Brent Weeks is a genuinely good dude. I read night angel back when I was like 13. I was so upset with it ending that I sent him this almost page long email telling him how much i love his books and asking him if he'll ever return to night angel. I didnt expect a reply, or i thought if i got one it would be some generic response from his secretary or something lol. But his email was just as long as mine, and he responded to almost every question I asked. He recommended the first light bringer book which i immediately bought and loved. Night Angel has diminished somewhat as ive read so much good fantasy over the years, but it will always have a special place in my heart (and on my bookshelf) ❤. Love ya Brent, keep killin it

I'm only about 28 minutes in to this video, but I just had to pause to come and comment that I'm totally loving this video. I'd have to say that this is probably my favorite *long* video (over 20 minutes) on your channel yet. I haven't yet read anything by Brent Weeks, but he has skyrocketed to the top of my TBR list (well, second on my list, right behind the newest Raymond E Feist novel, one of my long time favorite authors). *The* *only* *question* *is* , *what* *of* *his* *should* *I* *read* *first* ? This guy is charming and funny, and I love how engaging he is, and the manner in which he is actively asking you questions. And it is apparent he's done his homework and has watched a number of your videos.
Daniel, I've only been subscribed to your channel for a short while, a few months at best, but it as become one of my favorites, and your videos are one of the highlights of my day when it comes to my TH-cam content. You're also part of the impetus for me to get back into my own writing, for which I'm grateful, my stuff had been sitting dormant for too many years and it was about damned time I started working on it again. So thank you, young sir, for lighting a fire under this middle aged ass, without even knowing you were doing it. Best wishes with your own writing and with the future of your channel. This was such a great interview! I loved that you (Daniel) let him speak all he wanted at the beginning and that he, in exchange, asked you too. It was very easy to watch and follow and Brent is such a nice and funny guy.
*I have an idea for you Daniel:* A new section, where you make a summary of a book. I need to catch up, I think I read the first two books, but as the third wasn't written at that moment, I (logically) stopped and forgot to go on. I don't really want to read it again, so if you did a summary (for other books of other series too, ergo a new section), you would make it so much easier :D

I love Mr. Weeks book; I've bought several. Really love his main protagonist. I will be so caught up in his story that my heart is beating rapidly and suddenly he breaks out with something so funny that I laugh til I have tears. His books take your emotions all over the place. So happy to see that the author is such a nice guy! He fits my image of him. Thanks for producing this great interview. The Lightbringer series is awesome! I look forward to more books by Brent Weeks.
