I found your channel maybe about a month ago & for real it’s been dope going back to watch all the episodes. Honestly, I wouldn’t mind the podcast being an hour long, because I’ve learned about many different types of gear from y’all that I wouldn’t of even knew existed. Keep up the great work guys

I use MPC studio then when I'm done I open it in protools and print everything, then off I go recording extra parts.

Devon you should check out PHYSICALLY MODELED Instruments;

Audio Modeling: SWAM Instruments
Then get an Erae Touch MPE Controller
Then you might reconsider your position; they might not replace physical instruments completely, because of NOSTALGIA, but they may arguably be better.
Think Realism, Efficiency and Convenience all in one.

Y’all it is here! Melodyne can literally take audio and give velocity and phrasing. I don’t think it’ll ever replace instruments but I think it’ll be more popular.

I would say in order for it to get close to the instruments the producer must study the feel on the bass and guitar to mimic it.

AVID NEEDS A REBRAND OF BEING A REASONABLY PRICED RECORDING SOLUTION. ALMOST EVERY OTHER DAW IS MORE AFFORDABLE. THEY NEED TO DO THAT TO GAIN REVENUE TO UPDATE WITH MORE INNOVATIVE STOCK PLUGINS, DRAG AND DROP CAPABILITY VIRTUAL STACKS OF PRO TOOLS SESSIONS & NEWER MUSIC PRODUCTION INSTRUMENTS & FEATURES.

Instrument vst defiantly will replace hardware but when it come to vocal chains I think hardware is unmatched

Speaking of vsts replacing real instruments, have you guys ever heard of SWAM Engine - Audio Modeling? If not, you've GOT to check that out. It's crazy.. 🤯
Not sure if you guys know this, but all of NI guitar instruments are actually played by actual people. I have all of Native Instruments guitar VSTs and they sound AMAZING! You can drop midi chords in your track to trigger VST, but it doesn't feel organic. You have to actually play each chord on your keyboard with guitar player timing in order to get that real human feel. You can also play with the timing and pitch to give it a more realistic feel. It's dope bro! Just a heads up though. The R&B patterns suck ass on all of their guitar VSTs. Other than that, I think their guitar VSTs sound great in the mix of a song that only requires rythm guitar.

I love melda productions Plugins but their interface and GUI are atrociously hideous . If I could compare them to a lord of the rings character it would be gollum after a face altering car accident. They are way overdue for an update IMO . I love these discussions and podcasts!
