people in the comments don't know about the legacy of Linear Arithmetic Synthesis...this is basically how Omnisphere and Roland D-50 make their lush digital tones that sound like instruments.

Step 1: grab an instrument
Wouldn't say this sounds very real but it definitely is very cool and useful. I wonder how this would work with something like synth stabs or Tonal One Shots.

If you want to make it sound more realistic, it has to sound slightly different everytime you play it, so it’s better to use 5 different samples of the same note on the same instrument and have it randomized each time you hit a note. Also velocity plays a huge part if you want it even more realistic, make sure you have different samples for different velocities, so even more samples, in the end you need a huge amount of samples for just 1 note, and even then, nothing compares to a real instrument.

@@hamm8934 Actually, Tracks Of My Tears was released after All You Need Is Love. POT is an upgraded version of it. And All You Need Is Love is not even 1% as good as Promises Of Tears.

yeah... no it doesnt sound like a real instrument. It loses some of its characteristics when wavetabled, and even more when playing different registers.
It might still sound pretty good on its own right though.

PLEASE STOP THAT! I‘m a string player and producer. Sth like this doesn’t sound like real strings at all, if you’re not a beginning producer you’ll realise that immediately. Just use real strings if you want to have of sound of strings, be authentic!

At least put effects that don't destroy the realism. If you're going to make a "real instrument," don't try to make a synth that's not even close to real. Otherwise, your title was misleading.
