    This looks far better than the original Romeo Zero. I only had mine mounted for like a month because the plastic lens scratched so easily it was crazy. Replaced it with a Holosun 507k and haven’t looked back. About time they finally have a glass lens.

      They have definitely stepped up the Romeo zero a notch, but they are still way behind Holosun in the features they offer for their optics.

    @dellenrules 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    If you plan on keeping the shroud on, the optic will block your front sight. Recommend the XS F8 Sig sights. That solves the issue.

    I just ordered the Romeo Zero Elite for my P365XL. From this video, it looks like I made a good decision. Thanks for the review!

      It's a good optic that does what it needs to. Hope it serves you well. Cheers.

    the glow paint on that elite should be standard on all red dots. awesome idea

    What's your opinion on the Elite now? Holosuns are so expensive! The Spectre Comp is beautiful with the gold accents.

      It’s a pretty good optic. I took the shroud off and have not had any problems with durability. I ended up buying another one for a friend and no problems. No loss of zero thru 600 rounds. It works, it doesn’t have some fancier features, but once you learn how to work it, it does the job it’s intended to do. A great low-mid price optic imo. Holosun still gets my money for certain set ups I have tho.

    Love sig they just need to upgrade their qc... I seen 320 specter with hood wear brand new out the box. Not something that should really happen on a tin barrel.. My shadow is pushing 400 I know not much but their ticn finish has litterly not 1 mark in it anywhere

    I don't get the protective shroud on optics when people say it will bang into stuff..every shot taken slams that optic back and fourth and it keeps its zero. Leave the shroud off IMO...good vid though dude

    • @g-cast2106
      @g-cast2106  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, at first I was hesitant to crack the polymer housing on some tables I work around at work, so I tried the shroud out for a few months. Eventually got to where I took it off to test durability and it has taken a few bumps to the side of the housing on some table corners here and there, no cracks and stayed zeroed no problems. You're right, way better shroud off. Cheers man.

    You think they’d make the battery accessible without removing the sight. Glad I watched some reviews before I bought the Romeo Zero. I opted for the Holosun 407k instead.

    • @g-cast2106
      @g-cast2106  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wish they would get on board with the easy battery removal as well, but you made a great choice with the holosun. The $300 is well worth some of the better features of the holosun vs $200 the zero elite. If budget allows, I'd always go with holosun, but the elite isn't a bad choice for a $200 optic minus some of the cooler features and durability offered by others without having to put on the protective shroud. Holosun 4 life, but the elite will get the job done, depends on the choice of gun and budget.

  • @PocketDrummer

    Can you do a follow up review on the RomeoZero Elite? I'm looking at getting an optic, but I really don't want something made in China, so I'm hoping it's comparable or better than the Holosun 507k.

    • @g-cast2106
      @g-cast2106  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am working on a follow up video coming out soon, but I can tell you that if you have the budget for it, invest in a 507k. For the features and durability, holosuns far surpass the zero elite in my opinion for an extra hundred bucks. Now the zero elite is a good $200 optic on par with some crimson trace and vortex offerings. It is a decent optic, but a holosun it is not. I do wish Holosuns were made here and not overseas, but the quality has been spot on so far.

    My Romeo zero elite seems very blurry when it first turns on until it warms up.. is that how yours is? Also mine seems a lot more shaky than yours. Is yours the 32MOA circle with 2MOA dot?

      This one has been my go to for most projects lately. It has a good variety of sizes for each type of bit. Really helps to have the right tool for the screw at hand to help keep from damaging fine finishes. I also use a heavier craftsman set for higher torque applications.

    I wanna try the elite for my sig x carry. Been doing reviews on Holosun, now I thinking 497k/507k. Same footprint. ( shields/rmsc). Holosun is a bit more, which is fine. I really do t like spending another 60/80 bucks on a filler plate. Sheesh!

    • @g-cast2106
      @g-cast2106  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea, holosun is a better optic for the extra cash, but the elite has been good to me, no problems here.

    Don't bother buying if you have plans on mounting this on a Smith and Wesson Shield Plus. They don't include the screw for the Smith.

      So far, I'm not hating the 0 elite for what it is but I do have some Holosun optics on my glocks that I like more for sure. I wanted to try the smaller footprint and see how it works on the xl, a few more range trips to see how well it holds up in the near future.

  • @jerstolp1
    @jerstolp1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Way too small for reg sized glocks.. For a single stack sure.. For anyone looking at one.. If u have a double stack glock pass on the 0 go with the 1 or 1 pro... Or even better a holosun 507c

    • @g-cast2106
      @g-cast2106  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      At first I was lightly tapping with nothing happening with the shroud on, then I tapped it harder with purpose and found it to work just fine. It might work with light taps with the shroud off, but I have not removed the shroud yet, still deciding which I like more...shroud on or off.

    Can you toggle to just a red dot without the circle or does have to be circle with red dot? And if you can toggle to just red dot, is it a 3 MOA? Hard to find this info anywhere

    • @g-cast2106
      @g-cast2106  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you toggle the circle dot, it combines the 2 MOA dot with a 32 MOA circle. You can toggle the red dot only option and it uses a 3 MOA dot when using the dot only.

    I don't see a good reason to use the Zero if you're going to use the shroud. Just use a better optic if you're ok with a bigger size RDS.

    • @g-cast2106
      @g-cast2106  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I was testing it out for a bit. I’ve since taken the shroud off and have had no issues. It’s good for what it is, as soon as I’m done with the battery life test I’ll probably swap it with another optic I have.

  • @SoapsAreStupid

    Was it fairly accurate straight from install?

    • @g-cast2106
      @g-cast2106  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was close, but it also depends on what type and weight of bullet you are shooting, this can affect the point of impact on any gun. I'm running 124 gn NATO 9mm for range ammo and +p for defense so I had to adjust a bit.

  • @I_ammm_mojojojo

    how does it compare to the 407/507K in reference to size?

    • @g-cast2106
      @g-cast2106  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The zero elite without the shroud on is about the same size as 507k. I think I would go with a holosun for a few features lacking in this zero elite, like battery life/change out ease, plus overall, holosun for me has been durable from the start. I don't really like the shroud needed on the zero to increase its durability. With the shroud on makes it 1.2 inches wide with noticeable overhang on the slide sides (roughly the same size as the bigger 507c x2).
