I remember when I first watched the finale I was in such shock that I couldn't cry at Penny's death. But as soon as this song started and I realised what it was about, I broke down in tears. And like many rwby songs I still cry every time I hear it

Thinking that she will at least be with the one person who treated her like a human being and showed her what it means to have and be a friend. Poor penny, now Jaune has to break the news to Ruby. Ruby lost penny once and now she has to live through that again :(
Penny’s friendship with Ruby is the most wholesome one in the show. Most people ship Nuts & Dolts but honestly this song (to me at least) just shows just the pure friendship they had together, they care about the other. And it’s all just really wholesome
“Protectors of each other” really says it all because isnt that what they did throughout the entire time they knew each other. Truly a beautiful friendship.
Most people didn’t realize it was a penny song until the hugs line but I knew as soon as the piano started playing the protector of mantle leitmotif. Probably my favorite leitmotif in the entire show alongside the arkos one. No surprise then that my favorite 2 rwby songs are forever fall and friend
they did play that entire song during the credits. And I believe one reason she was good with her sacrifice is because she had already lost Ruby. And she had not been real long enough to get attached to it. And she had already died once and then got another life, so she truly felt blessed.
Yes, Sirs and Madams are very cool, and you had to work very hard to elevate yourself above the Cheryl Watch Party from them, but you did. Thank you very much.

I just had a though for whatever reason this just came to mind what is Ruby’s reaction when she finds out that Penny is gone again and how it was all Cinder’a fault AGAIN oh boy that’s going to be interesting cause if we think about she just got one of her closet friends back from the dead cause at the time they and we didn’t know it f penny could come back as our penny the penny that we knew and loved the robot that’s could generate an aura that had a soul to do so than to her being killed for an example than being able to meet her again as the same penny after like a year maybe (can someone clarify if possible) and to go on mission and to grow there friendship stronger now for Penny to be mortally wounded by Cinder cause that power hungry brat wanted the winter maiden powers and for Penny to turn to Jaun to mercy kill her so the power can go to winter so Penny dies again by the hands of someone close to Ruby AGAIN (this case Jaun last case Pyrrha) caused by Cinder A FCKENING AGAIN I can’t wait for Ruby loose her mind and go nuts on Cinder that would be amazing to see

what makes her death even WORSE (somehow) is that her father never got to see her as a 'real girl' and that she died thinking Ruby was dead.
