I am really sorry that you had to suffer through that ordeal brother.......lol Thanks for the shout-out, I really do appreciate you and all of the support you have given me. I love you like a brother from another mother! "It's Donut Time"
After struggling to get all the carb gaskets and packings in place, I came up with a simple improvement. Make two long studs ,same length as the bolts from 6mm threaded bar. Screw these into engine. The gaskets and carb can be assembled easily in order, and fixed in position with 2 nuts in air filter.
it could be an air leak between the carb and the block, they often run like this when this is the case, the engine idle suddenly drops and then they stall when theres a very lean mixture. could try new gaskets and nipping the 2 carb bolts up gently until it runs smoothly. This has always worked well for me with those gcv135/160 engines
Does the carb float pin part to pin facing up or down? Also my lawnmower HRX 426 , the self drive works but it’s very slow, and when the lawnmower hits the floor it don’t work. When I move it up to check if the drives turning it is turning fine. Any idea ? Chain on and belt looks strong.
What causes the blockages in the carb jets? Is it lack of fuel filter, varnish type material in the fuel or a mixture? Shame you couldn't get it running completely sweet after a cleanup.
Excellent video. Followed it carefully and used all new gaskets but every time I switch the fuel on I'm getting leaks from the carb area. Tried refitting 3 or 4 times and same problem. Any ideas? It never leaked before the carburettor cleaning..
I have been struggling with this damn mower carb for 3 years since new. Thanks for the video - I have been cleaning this carb twice during the season for 3 years. Surely this is a design fault by Honda. I am hopefully getting a free new carb from my supplier soon and I'm going to run it on Aspen fuel only. Its definitely due to the size of the jet not being correct and it needs to be bigger for more fuel.
I don't know how the engineers at Honda were able to design a mower that coats the whole deck and engine in dirt...but they did...I have one, and am surprised by the amount of debris and dust in the air cleaner after a single mow. I clean the filter after each use. The oil seal installation on the governor shaft helped keep the oil drip from adding to the mess.
Honda air filters are a tad fatter than the square Briggs filter. I just learned that on youtube a couple of days ago. The Briggs kind make an imperfect seal.
One Thing I Have Noticed On Here ( TH-cam ) Not Many People Put Fuel Filters On Their Push Mowers. Every Mower That I Do, I Always Add A Fuel Filter As A Habit. It Keeps A Lot Of Junk Out Of The Carburetor And They Are Very Cheap. CRAZY..
Krispy kreme is the best donut, they are god awful delicious when you get them hot off the plate! They kind of lose there awesomeness after a day. Still good but not sensationally good! )
@@themowerman Hi, I'm having the same problem, had the carb off and on 3 times still surging, where's the cheapest supplier Mick? seen them at Just under £100 is that the norm?

Yeah I hear ya.. I stuck a new carb on it the next day and now runs sweet as a nut
@@themowerman what carb did you put on? Genuine honda seems to be around £90?
@@dhutch2000 well you can't beat a genuine.. a copy is like £20..
@@themowerman which do you fit?
@@dhutch2000 depends on the mower.. if it's a small one and cheap.. a copy. If it's big and expensive a genuine

Also after giving the carb a full clea. , the lawnmower is now surging and revs are going up and down in idle
Then the carb will need cleaning again

It's bad fuel.. and the carbs do wear out over time
