Construction is dangerous and work shouldn't be undertaken if not suitably trained. I do not take any responsibility for any injuries that may have occurred from what I have illustrated in the videos
Always the same when you schedule in doors. Had that a couple weeks ago when I was fitting Pvc doors.... Absolutely chucked it down!!
I think we’re cursed 😂
Love the videos, i live in yorkshire and i start my apprenticeship on monday good to see some of the stuff i will learn and lots of useful tips 👍
Congratulations! Hope it goes well for you!
Just spent all day framing n trimming out french doors and come home to watch u do it Jason..😁
It's a sickness 🤔🤔
It’s uncannily similar…….
SO helpful Jayson. I've got to replace my old wooden back door with a upvc one. Explained in terms I can grasp. Much appreciated! Should the hinge be on inside or outside or doesn't it matter providing it shuts properly?
nice and tidy job.
Nice vid taa. The cill. How do you fix it down ? Drill n screw or stick with silicone. I’ve seen different methods on yt.
Good video, Thanks
Noooice!
You know the only thing I’m confused about is toe and healing. I get the idea of the toe and healing but where you got me confused was where do the packers go is it in between the frame and the door or you take the beading off and the packers go inside before you put the panel back on?
Nice safety glasses! Which brand are they?
Very good thank you
Well done Jay excellent video mate ,i wonder if your apprentice sees you as Mr Miyagee lol.
Erm.... no, no he definitely doesn't :D
Good work. How would you do the toe and heal if there are 2 windows attached to the door frame(not the full length of the door frame,it's 9 courses brick then a window either side of the door)?
Exactly the same way 🫶
Nice job mate 👍🏻
Cheers pal😉
@@jaysonfaircloughjoinery8985 I also think you need a bigger van or trailer 🤣
I prefer to silicone the frame and then fit a 20mm upvc trim but only because I hate how the silicone looks against the brickwork! Also cut the jambs at an angle it’s stops them pinching when you bar them out👍🏻
Ye I completely get you! I think next time I’ll be trimming around the outside because I didn’t like the look of it!
@@jaysonfaircloughjoinery8985 small tip but usefull when using the crowbar against brickwork put a piece of 9mm ply between brickwork and crowbar ,less chance of brick shattering
Hello , my frame from a upvc window is not firm on the upper side, and the screw won't come off, can a make two holes on the PVC to screw to upper wall??
Bridging packers are a pain just something else to buy. That or cut a grey in half.
No plastic packers behind the screws? No clear silicon under the threshold?
Don’t necessarily need packers behind the hinges when you’re foaming really. I did silicone the threshold as well probably just didn’t show it🤷🏻♂️
how much does a job like this cost ?
How do you know if your door is fitted correctly not inside out and to the correct hight
I actually broke my toe trying to run in my new back door and smashed the threshold or bottom part of the door 😭
I've got at least 50mm to step over now from inside my kitchen to back garden
Level!!!
Jesus that was tight for the hinges against the internal wall. You will find it easier to cut your old frame at an angle
Ye I should’ve included a plant-on on the hinge side but I thought it’d be fine
This was helpful. Appreciate the upload. Did you do another more detailed vid? You should do mate you got a good style
Did I miss the bit where they put in the dowels?
try find a good chippy that wount rob you is like finding a pvc company that charges the same for one window as all the house
Paldies par informaciju 0:23
Something to consider for the future for your customers is that you won’t be able to offer the fensa guarantee certificate. In my experience it’s far better to get a registered glazing company to do these jobs for you and earn a little on top. Also there super quick and normally the finished product trimmed out and caulked is far better than we can do.
Can tell you watch Scott brown with those safteys ha he mentioned them in his Ppe video. Addicts mate addicts
Yano I actually saw the clear glasses on a female chippy on instagram and I thought they looked really smart without looking like a 5 year old child😂
Jayson Fairclough Joinery 😂😂 I get you. You seen his vid though right ? They are mad specs and they have sunglasses versions too. Maybe they are in fashion now ? ( fashion in the building industry ! I like it 😆) looks better than my racing style glasses 🤓
sorry way to explain toe and healing is to transfer weight to the hindge side not free swinging side from a glazier
I did say that😂
Should of had an add-on on the hinge side, doors catching the skirting. Should of also had packers next to fixing points, should of used a low upvc threshold not a full. Take it from a window fitter mate stick to internal doors.
Ye I should’ve added a plant on on. Doesn’t necessarily need packers behind fixing points when foaming as that acts as the packer. I did use a low like threshold.
Window fitter😂 it’s not hard, and you forget to mention using brown silicone 🥱
@@badsmell4009 another have a go hero. Let me guess handy man who thinks hes a jack of all trades.
Brown silicone is a northern thing, white down south. 🤡
@@badsmell4009 so just as I said cowboy builder that thinks he can so everything. Keep bodging jobs, ripping customers off and leave the window fitting to the professionals 👍
@@scottmason2635 professionals 😂😂 the king of drilling holes and swinging a mallet 🥳
If my drill bit touched the don Carlos I would be fuming 😡 nice idea tho
The don carlos😂😂
😂😂thankfully I don’t think it was gen
No add on to hinge side !!! schoolboy error
we used to do them like that now we square it plumb it pack it foam it let the foam go off open the door then screw it 👍
I’ve tried that before and didn’t like it😖
Best way
do you have a trick to stop the jamb/centre hinge from bowing in when doing this? My firm uses duraflex and it’s like a chocolate teapot.
What jokes😏
You with the specs, quit fooling around and get on with the job.
