You might need knock ins so that the hinge and door sash doesn't catch the inside walls which are narrower than outside!!!

im not so sure about the lock. could the lock not be snapped after taking the handle off. just under lock there is a screw or rivet which could be drilled out if need be. and whats with the big hole under the barrel of lock. i guess you could hit the top of lock and it would just break into the space below. looks so weak around the lock

Why would seal the door before taking the protective tape off and cleaning any dust off, lad also needs to get them sealing skills fixed

Doors should be on a sand and cement bed. Gives a solid durable base. Clear silicone is good for fishtanks. Clear silicone turns grey. 'White is Right'
Hi my space where door has to go in is 2 inches to small or door 2 inches bigger any suggestions how to sort this please.
You could make the width opening wider 10mm wider than the door frame. Draw a vertical line with a spirit level from top to bottom of the height. Then cut with a wizzer

a don Carlos knife , possibly one of the most dangerous of tools 2 be using 2 remove old silicone? good job tho apart from the sealing of the door outside that was shocking decent silicone gun needed and throw the masking tape . and I know I know that ever bugger is a critic and always quick to find fault . I guess its easier to find fault than praise, good installation overall

Reason y siliconing so bad is these chaps have 3 days in a warehouse to learn how to fit doors n then chuck straight on to site work any problema occur they got a professional team who come out n do all adjustimg ans stuff putting things right
Y not just make the blokes learn how fit properly n longer then three days
as a site carpenter i'd get paid £30 for fitting that door set...on my own too...the silicone job isn't that bad to be fair to them, i've seen much worse done by time served silicone pros.

knock ons or addons are not used as the door has been measured wrong are you been serious ??? its for the internal reveals or in some cases skirting boards that can manipulate the door opening . dont ruin a good video with stupid comments
A addon should allways be used on the hinge side also in some cases on the head as the floor hight can be high

Poor skill- silicone job could be done better insulation which is critical in a winter - foam first , silicone later- sometimes is better to made bigger gap beetwen wall and frame and apply foam for full frame thikness and In UK only couple companies who made full internal metal door frame - it prevent twisting doors and keep doors square ( not falling down one side ) -why? lets say : sharp sun or -20 out - 20 + insde.In case fully glassed doors proper packing prevent falling down one side
you are wrong ...silicon in winter is poor barrier to freeze and cold wind and foam improve soundproof as well ....
again you are wrong spacer are for adjustment and level a door frame....not every door frame are plumb and not every door frame hole are plumb and level.....
this days external doors have many locking system points so proper installation are key for proper working locks for years.....what if door hole is not level and plumb? and your door frame are same size as hole?
why the pvc knock onns cant off beat a good fit.

Heh, this window technology is not even close to 1990s in europe. I remember isoplast 4000 started in the 1990. 4 chambers frame and metal frame all around compare to uk products available in 2021 isoplast from 90s was better heh.
From the window installation technique drilling frame is absolutely incorrect, can and will bow the frame. You didnt used low expansion foam to fix the frame all around. This silicone bullsht you did will delaminate and cause blowbacks through the cracks.
Awful job typical uk quality. I assume you have no clue what is warm install technique LOL, using butyl tapes inside with self adhesive perimeter trim and breathable tapes outside.... not mentioning fixing anchors..
Next time send out a fitter who can measure the door,rather than use knock on.and beading in the head of the door, jack the door up or use better packing.

+Andrew waterhouse you are right i noticed he cleaned the door after he siliconed he should have cleaned all surfaces first. some times you have to use a knock on if the inside reviels are smaller than the outside.
Add on is to ensure hinges clear inner reveal and skirting. Sorry
The amount of times I've been to fit a door which someone else has surveyed and measured the opening indicating the hinges would be buried into the plasterwork is untrue, add ons are used for many different reasons and isn't a sign of mis-measuring
