    Another great video. Why would someone vent a upvc door top and bottom like that?? Surly it defeats the object. ;-)

    Another great video Stu. Is that expanding foam you put the door sill onto?

    Ours is like this where the original had no packers. I never understand why the 2nd fit door has to be smaller with packers when the first didn't

    Hi matey,
    Did this door have a low entry entry threshold? I cant quite make it out, looks like a metal low entry threshold that then sits on a normal cill?

    Lovely job, Stu.
    One question from an ordinary bloke,......D you use screws that go straight through the frame into brick?
    And, if so, what brand and name? (As in ::brand name:: masonry screw for direct fit......)
    Thanks for all the tips you give out, purposely, and during your work!

    Cracking job Stu! Old door was suited better i think. Personal opinion and preference! Any reason for change mate?

    • @Stucrompton1
      @Stucrompton1  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      old door was knackered, wobbly and drafty, new door is modern, solid and draft proof with a rated energy saving glass, no brainer really stephen lol but everyone has different taste :)

    Stu, what size hole do you drill in the frame for the concrete screws? I'm assuming they would be clearance on the thread

    • @simomilosic7345
      @simomilosic7345 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For the brick 6 and for the concrete 6,5 mils drillbit because the screw is 7,5 mils and it will make its own way afterwords.

    Nice job stu 👍
    I've never seen a sill stuck down with foam, I just use silicon. You reckon there's some advantage to using foam?

    • @Stucrompton1
      @Stucrompton1  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      either or paul ive used both but kc likes the foam gun lol

      Foam is better as silicone will crack and spilt over time which creates drafts that’s why we in the trade foam and silicone ,top job stu keep up the great work rebuilding a good name for window fitters and trades man

      @JohnnyMotel99 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Paul McFadyen I understand there are two types of foam, one expands a lot to fill those big gaps, the other doesn’t expand so much. My guess is Stu uses the latter type.
