    Composite doors make such a big difference, we had Rock doors fitted, look brilliant!

      Have you had any issues with the rock door?

    • @Chanesmyname
      @Chanesmyname 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ajayb2478 No, we have had five fitted in different houses and they have been fantastic for us! The original fitted door from years ago still looks like new. These doors were all the Ultimate model. The best tip for them is to make sure whoever you have fitting them is experienced in fitting them.

    Nice handy work lads. Here in the north of Ireland we have to fit from the inside because of the reveals sit out passed the inside and can be a proper nightmare at times...all the best keep the great work and videos up...much love

      big Johnny boots same in Scotland. Wrestling the window/door to get it in. The cheating way is to do it to the outside skin and put on facings and 6 tubes of silicone!

  • @fireblaster9961

    I find if you foam up behind where the screws go in and gently screw in, it doesn’t bend the frame in and the foam acts as a packer to bridge the gap....Hold tight

    In the usa we prep concrete paths knock of all the snats and the we install tap cons in and the bonding agent then we aplly compro set
    .. and it hardens in 45 plus but really quick then u save it to where u need it... keep up the good work man

    Excellent job, to your usual high standards Stu. Really enjoyed that! =)
    One can see that that lintel really ought to be replaced. It's got a crack right-through, over the door. And the brickwork around is also shifting. Shame that the home owner doesn't see that as a priority! :O

    I have to ask I notice you remove a lot of pvc doors and windows and replace them again. Is their a reason eg past is use by date? Or just customers want a different colour.

    Just watched your video with the house that had the arches! Smashed it first time with that architrave! I'm fitting a upvc composite door tomorrow with a mate. I'm all set and fairly confident but we had an issue with the clearance inside compared to outside as my mate wants laminate layed after. My question is can you fit a FRAME EXTENDER on the bottom of the frame. There is no cill being used either as there is a concrete cill already in place. We were offered a lower threshold but decided that would not work so stuck with the normal height (I think 60mm). So I'm guessing all should be fine and the extender is for the top of door? The vertical frame extender is already attached on the hinge side so it was just the horizontal one I was unsure of. Any answers welcome. Thank you. Great channel. I have subscribed.

    Hey Stu love watching you vids. I see you siliconed the cill to the step. When you lifted the door in is that fitted dry to cill ? Just had a door fitted and looks like mine is fitted dry to cill like you did in the video ? Is that normal or is it meant to be siliconed to cill ? Tia

      not over a door pal, dangerous if they fall off - plus the customer didnt want to spend a lot and we would have to chisel more out of the lintel which would make it weaker because you cant have them sticking out like a sore thumb, thanks for watching

    Silicone silicone everywhere. Looks like in UK no one heard about insulation to make it a bit warmer. Unacceptable way to fit the door in the other European countries.

    @lukenfoci 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am really sorry, because I like your building work a lot, and I would not hesitate to do some building work for me. However, in case of the door installation, I must admit I am disappointed. Why? Look at the gaps, they are uneven. Builder who fitted my door did the same plus he messed up the frame. Got to this video because I was checking videos about composite door adjustment :).

    Hey Stu, watch alot of your videos, just abit of advice for fitting windows and especially doors (this is coming from a UPVC installer) don't use those screws for fixing. They're unreliable and don't fix properly over time with doors slamming etc those screws come loose. Use frame anchors like these
    www.toolstation.com/phillips-window-frame-anchor/p25635

    • @Stucrompton1
      @Stucrompton1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks but that’s nonsense the concrete screws never cone loose if you use the right size drill bit and drill in the brick. Brilliant invention. Those old fixing are dated and fiddly the can also get stuck so you have to re drill the plug out and waste time. ( also from a upvc installer ) 👍👍

    • @bloggs692413
      @bloggs692413 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I say the opposite i see them screws coming loose all time and have to fit concrete screws to secure the frames instead perhaps it's how they're used
