red squirrels copulate while inside wooden nest box

This nest box was built for screech-owls, but some American Red Squirrels (Tamiasciurus hudsonicus) have moved in, and now they are interested in having babies! The video shows a male enter first through a hole in the bottom of the box. This is not a hole we made; it was gnawed by the squirrels. The female enters from the same hole right after the male. Then the two do what the birds and the bees also do. It's more fun if you listen with the sound on!
