RE2 & RE3 should have just been combined into one game for the remake. That would have been pretty awesome, seeing as Nemesis takes place before & after RE2 anyway.

It was fun for the first 20 minutes - then I realised that most people were level 100+ and it made it impossible to get some trophies. Getting 4 downs with traps I only got because 3 of the survivors were low level. I’ve not played reverse but don’t really want to go near it. Need to complete RE0 then RE1 then will do RE2re which I’ve never played. Only played all the originals on N64, Dreamcast and GameCube.

Jill "having the virus" was only a nightmare. Kendo the Gunshop owner's secret was revealed in the RE2 Reamke, it was his daughter who was infected. RE3 takes places before and after RE2 Remake.
Man, I remember grinding the shit out of the Mercenaries in Resi 3, O.G. To get 9999 points so I could unlock the unlimited ammo perk. That made the game even more enjoyable. I didn't hate the remake, but in terms of playability, two playthroughs and I was done. There was nothing to pull you back in after that.
I'm with you on that! Here's where I stand with it: it's a fun game but as a resident evil Nemesis remake It really doesn't hold up. Plus it's a decent game to just kill time with cuz it's not that long.
I never pay more than 30-40€ for any game. I always wait for price drop for a physical or sale for digital and bug fixes. Triple-A games are never finished when published
That’s fair. It’s clear that those in charge at Capcom prioritised short term profits by rushing the remake. If they’d have played it smart, allowed their best and brightest more time and resources to work on it, then they could have created a product that takes on a life of its own, guaranteeing legacy sales, a lot like previous entries that get ported to and resold for years and years. They’ve sh@t the bed and they realised that when they went onto remake RE4. - Branching story paths would add incentive to replay - RNG deciding which enemies you face in certain areas keeps things interesting - Expand on ammo crafting. The original nailed this without all the miracles of modern tech - Make Nemesis a stalker enemy. Less scripted crap. Build up his intro. Again, the original used him perfectly to create a tense atmosphere, 20+ years earlier without all the alleged advancements that Capcom now has. - Get rid of that pathetic lab section at the end. It’s supposed to be small town america in 1998, not the starship Enterprise. Maybe have an aesthetic that hearkens back to either the RE2 lab, or the Arklay mansion lab. Not something that looks unremarkably and generically futuristic ffs 🤦♂️ - Get rid of the tedious “hold UP” sections followed by cutscene, followed by hold UP again. It’s not exciting or engaging. It’s boring and frustrating. If that’s the only way you can do an escape from Jill’s home then it’s not worth doing. It’s as though those sections are designed for people who’ve never played a videogame
Its successes stem from what its borrowing from RE2R, which is a very good foundation, but it fails at everything new it adds. That's where the issue lies. Plus Nemesis was practically the face of RE for a long time, only reason he stopped was lacking relevance. Then RE2 takes his OG game design and improves on it in Remake's Mr X, and its such a massive success that MR X became the newest super popular enemy (especially as newer fans were not familiar with nemesis) basically emulating Nemesis' success for the new generation. When it came time for Nemesis to retake his throne, its completely botched! Not only is he worse than MR X, but he's even worse than his OG version somehow, basically designed like OG Mr X. On top of this, he is regularly made fun of in the game and not taken seriously by Jill, and despite being able to break through walls is easily blocked by Ikea products, and can be killed in seconds and then ignored. He's a complete joke in the game. Even his transformations aren't as good. Though I like the look of his "dog" form, I don't think its fitting for him, and at the very least comes too early in the game (need an inbetween form like what the OG would do). But his final boss fight is one of the worst in the series. Considering also that the game is filled with Zombies that are barely a threat, and then everything else is an insta-kill, and its a very poorly balanced game. Not to mention the Main Character being incorrectly named Jill Valentine, even though that is already a name of a character in this series, and definitely isn't the one in this game because she doesn't resemble the real Jill in any way. These things really set the game back a lot. There's fun to be had, but its not a consistent game, so there is a lot of annoyances to trudge through as well.
I'm really glad you feel this way. A lot of my friends tried to shame me for not liking 3, despite loving 2's remake. They kept trying to say "Well 3 was just a side game that got changed to be 3 so it was never supposed to be a big game." Well, the remake didn't need to do that too. The game was just way too frustrating, and Nemesis was just not nearly as creatively used as Tyrant was in RE2Make.
Resident evil 3 reminds me of my dead mum. When I ought the original I also bought Ghostface Killahs 2nd album, Supreme clientele. I remember playing that album in my room while playing this game. It was a stormy night which helped with the survival horror atmosphere. But everyone else was out except my mum that evening and it felt reassuring her being there... whenever there's a reference to this game or I hear a song off the Ghostface album, I think of her and that night...
That’s a good memory! The original RE1 and 2 both bring back strong memories of a few different things. Nostalgia is neat .. I just can’t play videogames that much anymore - I miss being enthused about playing them and really diving into them
Where and when Nemesis showed up was never random in the OG. Its based upon where you are, and if you fought him previously. But no matter how you slice it there are 7 Nemesis encounters. There are things you can do to change his spawn points (like fight and beat him), but he will still ONLY show up at set points. They made it feel random by just having him run on screen without giving him a cutscene a couple times... But it was not random. But it truly speaks to how well implemented and executed Nemesis was in the OG RE3 if 25 years later and LOTS of people still think he showed up randomly. The problem with the remake's Nemesis is two-fold. 1. He's on screen too much. You can't show the monster for too long, because then it stops being scary and becomes "camp", or God forbid funny. And rather than have several short Nemesis interactions like the OG RE3 did... The RE3-Make went for longer interactions... And that was the wrong way to go. By the third time you see him you're not even afraid of him anymore... But that also has to do with the 2nd Nemesis issue. 2. The even bigger problem is how almost every time Nemmy shows up, the game devolves into contextual quicktime events and it feels like watching a cutscenes with minor player input, rather than an intense showdown that you are actively choosing to engage with or run away from. They constantly snatch control away from the player during the times when we should have had the most control... I think the length is definitely an issue. RE3 is already break-neck paced, and the Park and Clocktower did an excellent job at helping to pace the game... So on top of shortening an already shorter game, it also hurts the overall pacing and removes 2 unique areas that help break the city up visually.
The way Nemisis works in OG RE3 still felt random and unpredictable though, especially on first playthrough...which is not something I can say for the Remake.
I'll never forget when you go to start the car up with three different rev sequences, if you look at the third rev when Jill looks up and Nemesis is actually further back than he was the first two times coming towards you. I cannot believe how horribly made this game is..
This is how I felt about Mr. X from the RE2 "remake". He wasn't scary or threatening, just tedious and annoying. Of course the whole game was just tedious and annoying so I guess it lines up.
@@jovenc4508 Agreed. It was cool to see the idea of a stalker enemy built upon and expanded, but it doesn't take long before Mr. X becomes more of a 'dynamic environmental obstacle' than a 'threatening force' closing in on your location at all times. There comes a point where he almost stops being a character, and becomes a game mechanic that you have to account for. And the biggest reason why it becomes less effective as the game goes on is because at a certain point you aren't even scared of Mr. X... or dying at his hands really. And that should be the whole point of his inclusion.. The best they can hope for is to build tension by inserting him in areas where there are other threats... But even that starts to feel shallow and more 'tedious' than 'tension filled' as you have more encounters with him. And Nemesis is even worse because his implementation is more area/set-pieced-based, and less about throwing him in environments and letting him act/react dynamically to how you respond to his insertion.
It was when I went to replay for a 2nd time that I realised “Oh….This is it” 🤷🏻♂️ A boring, hollow experience. Nobody’s gonna be looking for that to be ported in future the way RE4 got put on absolutely everything
@@Bijo69I'd still say the original has a lot going for it. And the combat is great even in that. Some players just might need some adjusting to its quirks.
It is kinda funny how the Resident Evil remakes have been received about the same way as the original games were back in the day. 1 probably gives the most unique and most Resident Evil of Resident Evil. 2 expands on it, giving new perspectives and giving us the real zombie apocalypse. Then 3 trying to be a big climax and kind of tripping over itself, losing focus on what made the previous games as beloved as they were.
That’s faint praise for what is supposed to be a video game. I didn’t care about the story or the characters in 1999 because the game itself was so engaging and exciting. This time around the game is an on-the-rails borefest that almost pushes you along towards the end, until you reach what looks like a 2020s iPhone factory Edit: when I say “this time around” obv I’m referring to the remake
i had resident evil 2 on N64, it had this randomizer setting where the locations of key items and random pickups were shuffled allowing for limitless replayability as long as you played in a careful, methodical way.
Unpopular opinion, but I LOVE this remake. It’s my favorite RE game. It’s perfectly paced, the perfect length, and super charming. Not too many pain in the butt puzzles, and tons of great action. 10/10 for me.
Yea, this game is great. I really enjoyed it a lot. I actually think it's WAY more fun than the RE2 remake. I was not all that impressed with the RE2 remake.

I didnt k kw what DEI was either, but now that yiuve explained it, why is that a bad thing exactly? I havent watched Joe in years mind you. The costumes were a nice gimmick but ive grown tired of it. I am glad you mentioned the railgun. That shit bothered me so much. The weight, the light, the heat and recoil was way too much for a single un protected 5 ' 3" woman And one thing i didn't hear you mention were the individual character epilogues you could unlock in the original. That was huge, i think.
Jill is the real subject umbrella should be studying. She gets hit by a nemesis rocket in a cutscene nearly point blank, and all she has is a few cuts. 😅
@@vodkavecz I disagree. Resident evil is about people beating the odds while coping with psychological trauma and body horror, not meta humans overcoming minor challenges
I thought the part that was in the demo was actually really good, where you're going around the city progressively unlocking things, solving puzzles, etc., while being chased by Nemesis. If they kept that up throughout the game like in the original instead of turning him into a cutscene/qte machine, it would have been much better.
I remember playing the OG RE3 and getting stuck in the diner with Nemesis Tyrant, hiding in the basement area behind the narrow counter and dying either to: A) Flooding B) Tyrant waiting in the narrow diner area LOL I loved how random those encounters were, that game was fun :P
I loved the original RE3 because Jill had her own game, there had never been any pursuing enemy like the Nemesis, the destroyed city was cool, and it expanded on the lore of the Raccoon City outbreak/Umbrella accident. Even though the pathways were weirdly narrow, it was fun to visit new parts of the city.
Thank you drinker for making a dedicated gaming channel. I've subbed to your other channels so you got another outta me. Good to see ya still loving the re games. I also love that you with your drops from your film reviews into your having reviews! Cheers mate! And happy Saint Patrick's Day!
Yeah, it's short, but I enjoyed it because it was on sale. Ugh, I still didn't beat the last boss. It's so hard! I may come back to it one day. Excellent review, Drinker+
"so hard" hmm you see that's funny cuz on my harder difficulty i managed to blitz the final boss of the game and felt robbed and bored on the RE3make but on the OG Re3 i got my ass whooped by nemesis like 10x even in the final boss and i enjoyed his ass kicking cuz of the encounters and he is just so badass on the OG than the remake.
As pretty as the new RE games are, the originals will never be replaced for me. I see these new remakes as an alternate timeline RE series, which it practically is anyway. The only remake I accept as canon is the 2002 Gamecube remake.
I had such a good time with this game. Actually kinda enjoyed that it was short. The cut content was disappointing though, I agree with that. But the graphics and gameplay were great. It took me 37 hours to get the platinum trophy and I had fun from start to finish. 8/10
I think ppl need to visit re3. Its essentially a budget title, and as a complete package with re2 (like how ys 1 and 2 are often collected) its great value and a great way to kill a weekend
Everything you just said is exactly the truth, also I just wanted to say I was really annoyed when I realized that crimson heads were missing, they had lickers so why not crimson heads?? That would’ve mixed up combat and added a whole other level of terror, imagine like 5 extremely aggressive crimson heads sprinting at you while nemesis is also on your ass or walking down a dark hallway and a random corpse jumping up and running at you full speed, that would’ve been terrifying and fucking awesome, also I wish they had different types of animals and more of a variety of pet type enemies because a horde of zombie alley cats would be so scary and epic I think
I got RE3 for Christmas as a kid. Had it beaten before bed time. Great game. But this remake... Ugh. Oh and shit, remember being able to go to the boutique and switch to the dino crisis gal, and old Jill? That was amazing.
As I've said before, if there's one thing the remake of RE3 did better than the remakes of RE2 and RE4 and the new installments RE7 and RE8, it was the performance of Jill by Nicole Tompkins. She clearly cared about her role.
She wouldve done much better with a good writer and better character direction. Shit talking nemesis while only being 5'3 and getting beat up all the time is a goofy thing to do for Jill.
I'm not trying to point fingers or be sarcastic, but the directors for Resident Evil 2 and 4 were Kazunori Kadoi and Yasuhiro Anpo. For Resident Evil 3, the director was Kiyohiko Sakata. While Sakata is a talented programmer and engineer with an impressive resume, his work as a director did not turn out well for Resident Evil 3. Although he may have learned from his mistakes, my question is why take the risk of changing directors when the previous ones did an excellent job with Resident Evil 2 and the new one butchered Resident Evil 3? I apologize for any spelling or grammar mistakes, English is not my first language as I am from Argentina.
It was a wasted opportunity for sure. Too short and too easy and too action oriented, no puzzles at all, Nemesis is a mear shell of what could be....and yet the game is fun to play and I love the dodge mechanic. When you know what to do and where to go, with the Rocket launcher in your hands, it becames a cinematic experience that you can complete in very short time. And I love this Jill model :)
I played this at launch and loved it. It came out early 2020 just as the lockdowns began. RE3 reboot is just like RE3 1999, a short addition to RE2 with less puzzles and more action. It is what it is, not everything is always the best or better some times stuff is just more and I appreciated this at the time.
I beat RE1 on PS1 back in the day, and I played Re2 on PS1. I recently been going through the series trying to platinum all the games so far platinum zero and one I’ve got four trophies left to platinum two. I wanted to take a break, so I started playing three. I was able to just beat this game without using a guide to figure out where to go or where to find this key or that item or that piece. And then every time nemesis would jump out I was like this guy again?! I liked when the bosses were kind of puzzle sort of than just throw all the ammo you have out until he’s done that was really annoying. The part where he’s in that circle and returns like amphibious looking and he runs on the buildings and you gotta know that you had to bring the mine grenades with you to shoot the mine to blow up for him to fall and shoot them in the chest. I beat it and then I was like yeah I’m not wasting my time trying to platinum this. I can’t play it more times.
Not at all. RE2R (now dethroned by RE4R), for me is THE masterpiece. But RE3R was the most replayable. The only one I got to play multiple times and actually speedrun.
You can escape from Jill’s apartment by holding up. That leaves your other hand free for stroking yourself. It stands to reason that some people want their hand held
@@CursedWheelieBin I’ve beaten most entries in the Dark Souls series, so I am no stranger to difficult games and I don’t shy away from them. RE3 just has better pacing for me personally. Nothing to do with “hand holding”. Weird comment.
I'm just glad as an Aussie you call it, RESI... love ya work. Beers up. U nailed this video coz the game was fucked compared to the original. That's it....
I think wishing for more characterization of RE characters now that we have escaped the PS1's limited days is definitely a valid wish. Your point about not getting to see Jill in the RPD building is a good one. I did enjoy seeing Raccoon City in a state of active collapse, as opposed to after the collapse occurred in RE2. I wish they had done more with that and the UBCS extraction effort. Maybe showed us the police trying to make a stand and do something. RE3 original had a intro cutscene showing the cops trying to stop a zombie horde that one of those shit Wes Anderson films actually did as well.
Except it wasn't the same team that made RE4, or even RE2, so they theoretically should have had more time. It was just rushed for some reason. Like Capcom wanted it out by a certain date, but didn't want them to start working on it until RE2 was finished, rather than side by side, leaving it to have like 1 year of development at most. I bet they expected the games could come out yearly, and didn't want to push off any of the other REs to give this one more time, and definitely wouldn't have 2 RE games competing in the same year (since RE8 was coming out soon, though that one would also have benefitted from more development time).
I will say one perk of the extremely condensed story is I actually got into speed running it and unlocked a lot of the achievements around that... usually I don't bother but on this one it was easy lol
I’ll give nemesis this, in inferno he is hard and there’s that 1 singular section where he follows you. It shows some good ideas I liked the sections individually but they cut puzzles and shortened it. The ptsd scene would have been fun to of been expanded, tbh a ptsd induced dream where she fights yawn would have been a nice tutorial for the dodge mechanic and a fun fast paced intro. The rcpd section was too short, the hospital was fun and atmospheric but ended with cod zombies. They had a chance to make Jill’s parts more action based with nemesis chasing her and Carlos’ scenes atmospheric and creepy ex the hospital. The theme of re3 is instead of a city or police station it’s a whole city, the game would of been brilliant if it had open world exploring scenes like re4 remake added maybe a few side quests to help survivors ( it’s within Jill’s personality )
Love the drinker reviews. Why can’t we get a REone, RE-0 style remake of 2,3 w the rendering power of modern consoles !! Those already hold up so well. It’d be amazing.
this game on it’s own is decent, but if you’re like who grew up with the original and love it to death you’ll be pretty disappointed and butthurt for years playing this game, awful remake, completely shits on the legacy of the original, huge cut that the more you play the more you realize that half of the fucking game is missing, Nemesis is a pussy goes down with a single grenade, there are no icons puzzles, only 2 streets, icons lines being put into weird places, the change to the hospital is good but becomes RE6 later with the Bs horde rush, anyone who love the original and think this is a good remake is delusional, and many more issues that makes a the original a masterpiece compared, great stuff as always Drinker
**During his intro** “…is…is he talking about walking through San Francisco…? 🤔” 😂 I liked RE3 remake (it was more RE content with the newer engine; that grabbed me immediately), but it was basically at the scale of DLC for RE2R. I’m really glad I bought it at a seriously discounted cost.
I enjoyed it for what it was and hate it for what it tries to be and what it tries to replace. Honestly, while I do agree that RE 3: Nemesis was a bit more on the forgettable spectrum of early RE titles. Simply known for "being more action focused," I find that the game still added new layers to the early RE formula that fans who played those early titles would pleasantly be surprised by, and later sing the praises of. In-game story choices, multiple endings, Nemesis spontaneously following, being able to defeat him during your encounters, and more. The fact that this game plays more as a movie and they didn't include the story choices and multiple endings is crazy to me. Especially after RE 2 and RE4. You can tell that they just wanted to rush through this game just to get to the more lucrative, ambitious, fan favorite RE4 remake. Which is a damn shame. For what it was worth... i loved the short Nemesis encounters. If you play stupid. By not playing efficiently or using the hilarious one hit kill grenade. Him jumping and rushing you in a street full of zombies can add fun tension for a moment; and the hospital can also be fun if you play with limited resources, and slow pace. It requires a lot on your part. But its worth it if you wish to play the game with the imagination and expectation you were looking for in the first place.
I liked the RE3 OG and remake, but didn't love it like I did with RE2. One thing I really regret them dropping(other than the choices,) were the parts Nemesis would drop whenever you killed him that could be used to make badass weapons. I remember replaying it a few years after it came out and saving every scrap of ammo so I could smoke Nemesis every time he popped up.
I really enjoyed the RE3 Remake, but I admit, I skipped the original game back in the 90s, so I had no preconceived expectations on the remake. To be fair, I'm a simple man and I like simple things, so just watching Jill's butt wiggle as she runs around is enough to keep me happy. 😂
0:57 I will have to disagree with you here. The original RE3 wasn't a "balls to the wall action", If you play on Hard mode you only start with the pistol and your resources are much more limited than Easy mode (which from that clip, you seem to be playing on Easy since you have the machine gun at the start. Besides, the game has huge emphasis on puzzle solving and the Nemisis adds most of the survival horro with that formula. The series went to balls to the wall action with RE4. Also many people will disagree with you about OC RE3 being a "forgettable adventure", to me personally it is the best in the series and the most unforgettable.

This was my very first Resident Evil game, and I did appreciate it's simplicity and length. Have now played Origins and 2. Good intro for a newbie, but I can understand the anger and frustration of og fans.
I still had a lot of fun playing this, mostly because I just loved RE2 Remake so much. But it absolutely was rushed and felt like a DLC rather than a standalone game. I was regretted asking for this as a birthday present.
Although someone in the comments already mentioned that Jill being zombified was a nightmare, I think we can agree that Capcom missed out on exploring the subplot of Jill experiencing PTSD
Comparing RE3 remake to the original is like comparing a fresh-of-the-conveyor tin of Pringles to a bag of late stock Great Value chips. It's a husk of what is could have been. Such a disappointment, especially considering the treatment RE2 was given. 3 deserved better!!
Quick comparison. The original RE4 has been ported to countless systems because it has a lasting legacy. Time, resources, blood, sweat and tears went into it and now its guaranteed legacy sales. That’s something that RE3 remake will never have. They made a quick Buck from pre-orders. Whoop-Dee-Doo. Nowadays it costs about £12 (maybe less) because it has such little value. I feel sorry for the poor bastards that had to work on it, knowing they weren’t being given the time or resources to make something good.
Nicholai sucked the most in this game. He did nothing to cover his tracks, acted like a complete dipshit throughout the entire game, he hypocritically mocks Jill by telling her that she is unreliable to pull triggers even though that's all she does throughout this game while Nicholai hesitates to pull the trigger every time he points a gun at Jill. Such a FUBAR representation of an iconic OG secondary antagonist.
The original could be completed in short order. But it had good replayability. There was a clothes shop that unlocked new skins on each playthough. With the need for microtransactions that simple feature disappears.
Have you tried The Evil Within? It's not perfect and pretty janky but it's probably my favourite Survival Horror game with a great story and some real tense moments.
He should try both of those games if he hasn't yet. The Evil Within 2 in particular is what I believe the RE3 Remake should of been more like as far as Raccoon City's level design.
Resident Evil is really lucky. I dont know many other franchises that could withstand 1 *heavily* chopped down remake and two forced multiplayer games, both of which no one asked for, and come out smelling clean. A lesser franchise would get dusted certainly

Honestly, if you buy the game for like $20, it's a really good time imo! I had a ton of fun with this game!!!
I'm with you on that! Here's where I stand with it: it's a fun game but as a resident evil Nemesis remake It really doesn't hold up. Plus it's a decent game to just kill time with cuz it's not that long.
Yeah I got it for 10 bucks on a discount and I was a huge fan👌
Same here, really enjoy re3 remake but I never played the original.
I never pay more than 30-40€ for any game. I always wait for price drop for a physical or sale for digital and bug fixes. Triple-A games are never finished when published
I said this when the game was released, "The fact that a PS1 game has more content than a PS4 game goes beyond my comprehesion".
The game is good as long as you don’t pay more than 20 bucks for it
wrong
I got it for $10 at a pawn-shop and feel like I paid $15 more than it was worth.
Got it for 10 at Best Buy and is always on sale for that much on steam!
@@Cha4k kind of this. Would make it a lot easier to swallow the cut content. Definitely think 2 and 3 should have been released together
I wouldn't get it for free! What a waste of space!
Definitely prefer the original, but I didn't think it was that bad. Their other remakes are definitely much better, though.
- Branching story paths would add incentive to replay
- RNG deciding which enemies you face in certain areas keeps things interesting
- Expand on ammo crafting. The original nailed this without all the miracles of modern tech
- Make Nemesis a stalker enemy.
Not something that looks unremarkably and generically futuristic ffs 🤦♂️
- Get rid of the tedious “hold UP” sections followed by cutscene, followed by hold UP again.
It's trash stop the cap
No
I'm really glad you feel this way.
How would they “shame” you? 😂
Are you one of those sensitive guys who thinks you’re being “shamed” when somebody disagrees or takes the piss?
@@CursedWheelieBin I mean, I was just making light of the situation. If shame is too strong a word for you, then fine.
Bless u man, props on the ghostface album love the track "one" on that album great memories we got ❤️
This is the right take. I agree completely.
Completed this recently, felt like a 45 minute game that could’ve been dlc
It was when I went to replay for a 2nd time that I realised “Oh….This is it” 🤷🏻♂️
A boring, hollow experience.
Nobody’s gonna be looking for that to be ported in future the way RE4 got put on absolutely everything
@@CursedWheelieBin RE4 is a masterpiece but playing the original will be hard to adjust to after the remake did it justice
The Jill's modded costumes is a nice touch :) , i'm surprised you didn't use the tentacle scene for your video
The official alt of her classic outfit from the original game looked like ass, though.
Which mod is he using?
Carlos was the biggest upgrade from the original. He’s cool, funny, and actually has chemistry with Jill this time.
That’s faint praise for what is supposed to be a video game.
I didn’t care about the story or the characters in 1999 because the game itself was so engaging and exciting. This time around the game is an on-the-rails borefest that almost pushes you along towards the end, until you reach what looks like a 2020s iPhone factory
Edit: when I say “this time around” obv I’m referring to the remake
Not to mention I would grab his hair like crazy if he was railing me hard!
Hospital was good too
I'd like to see him back, maybe Revelations 3? Also, Barry Burton in RE9.
You didn't mention his awesome hair my dude.
i had resident evil 2 on N64, it had this randomizer setting where the locations of key items and random pickups were shuffled allowing for limitless replayability as long as you played in a careful, methodical way.
Unpopular opinion, but I LOVE this remake. It’s my favorite RE game. It’s perfectly paced, the perfect length, and super charming. Not too many pain in the butt puzzles, and tons of great action. 10/10 for me.
If you are serious then that’s awesome. This series has a game for everybody
Yea, this game is great. I really enjoyed it a lot. I actually think it's WAY more fun than the RE2 remake. I was not all that impressed with the RE2 remake.

Ahh damn I have great memories of the GameCube .. super smash bros and RE4
_Code Veronica_ deserves way more love than it gets, I hope that game gets a PC release one day.
I am glad you mentioned the railgun. That shit bothered me so much. The weight, the light, the heat and recoil was way too much for a single un protected 5 ' 3" woman
And one thing i didn't hear you mention were the individual character epilogues you could unlock in the original. That was huge, i think.
Jill is the real subject umbrella should be studying. She gets hit by a nemesis rocket in a cutscene nearly point blank, and all she has is a few cuts. 😅
I think Jill is badass enough that we can let this slide. Finishing off Nemesis with that gun was really cathartic.
I remember playing the OG RE3 and getting stuck in the diner with Nemesis Tyrant, hiding in the basement area behind the narrow counter and dying either to:
A) Flooding
B) Tyrant waiting in the narrow diner area
LOL I loved how random those encounters were, that game was fun :P
Actually, yo do learn about the dark secret of the owner of Kendo Gun Shop, you just missed it.
Maybe he didn't play RE2 Remake yet.
@@vodkavecz he did, he mentions it
Remember unlocking Mercenaries Operation mad jackal after beating the O.G RE3 back in my day. I miss those days of great gaming days.
The deep respect I have for the fact, he kept the same tone as the other reviews!
Thank you drinker for making a dedicated gaming channel. I've subbed to your other channels so you got another outta me. Good to see ya still loving the re games. I also love that you with your drops from your film reviews into your having reviews! Cheers mate! And happy Saint Patrick's Day!
I know you're moving the gaming content to the new challenge, but I'm still going to binge the videos.
Yeah, it's short, but I enjoyed it because it was on sale. Ugh, I still didn't beat the last boss. It's so hard! I may come back to it one day.
Excellent review, Drinker+
The final boss is broken. I went mad completing it on the hardest difficulty as a “f**k you” 😂
"so hard" hmm you see that's funny cuz on my harder difficulty i managed to blitz the final boss of the game and felt robbed and bored on the RE3make but on the OG Re3 i got my ass whooped by nemesis like 10x even in the final boss and i enjoyed his ass kicking cuz of the encounters and he is just so badass on the OG than the remake.
Yeah, this was a lettdown. Jill was my introduction to both the franchise and the genre.
I would have loved more.
Thank you for taking on this remake drinker! You hit the nail on the head with how the remake fell short.

Just like this was posted on after hours when the game launched.
@WayStedYou Yeah I realized it after a minute lol.
Calling RE3 forgettable is kind of insane, given the iconic status of Nemesis.
She was horrible and swore too much.
@@ericrhodes5174 Horrible? I could see someone considering her performance to be just okay, but horrible? That’s very unfair in my opinion.
For me its not running around like a headless chicken
She wouldve done much better with a good writer and better character direction. Shit talking nemesis while only being 5'3 and getting beat up all the time is a goofy thing to do for Jill.
@@TheJackmilla To be fair, Leon, Claire and Ada struggled in the remakes they appeared in.
I liked the analogy that Carlos used for the stick and the dog and the master throwing it.
I still haven't unlocked the Rocket Launcher. Do you get it after you complete Inferno Mode?
I own all the remakes. But I waited till 3 was on sale. Best decision I made. Fun, short, and it only cost me 20 bucks
I don't care, I paid $30 for this game and played through 3 times I love it.
I’ll get crucified by RE fans for saying this, but I’d rather play RE3 remake again before I’d play RE2 remake again. I love it 🤷♂️
I would to
Biggest thing they messed up was not having Jill say “ I’ll give you stars” as she shoved the rail gun down his throat .
I'm just glad as an Aussie you call it, RESI... love ya work. Beers up. U nailed this video coz the game was fucked compared to the original. That's it....

So excited for your video game reviews, drinker!! Love your movie reviews so this is a welcome addition!
RE3 original had a intro cutscene showing the cops trying to stop a zombie horde that one of those shit Wes Anderson films actually did as well.
i just started replaying this game like an hour ago
absolute perfect timing
Seems like they wanted to get this out of the way to get to work on RE4 sooner.
I'm addicted to RE games too lol. Especially the remakes.
I will say one perk of the extremely condensed story is I actually got into speed running it and unlocked a lot of the achievements around that... usually I don't bother but on this one it was easy lol
RE3R is amazing.
It’d be amazing.
i agree with re0. re1 doesn't need one in my opinion
@@redman836 I agree, I meant an re1 style (GameCube) remake of 2 and 3.

this game on it’s own is decent, but if you’re like who grew up with the original and love it to death you’ll be pretty disappointed and butthurt for years playing this game, awful remake, completely shits on the legacy of the original, huge cut that the more you play the more you realize that half of the fucking game is missing, Nemesis is a pussy goes down with a single grenade, there are no icons puzzles, only 2 streets, icons lines being put into weird places, the change to the hospital is good but becomes RE6 later with the Bs horde rush, anyone who love the original and think this is a good remake is delusional, and many more issues that makes a the original a masterpiece compared, great stuff as always Drinker
**During his intro**
“…is…is he talking about walking through San Francisco…? 🤔”
😂
I liked RE3 remake (it was more RE content with the newer engine; that grabbed me immediately), but it was basically at the scale of DLC for RE2R.
Game is solid and I enjoyed it, having played the original on PS1 and Dreamcast. Hopefully they code Veronica the same
Love.
RE2:R went to their heads and RE3:R paid the price for it.
I had fun with three, definitely not my favorite but still a fun quick play.
The game is not bad, but it definitely could be better.
Lol those bipedal monsters in the sewers look like the aliens from the 80's remake of Invaders from Mars! 😂😂 DAVID GARDNER!!! ILL GET YOU!
😂😂😂😂😂 u out of pocket
Of of the Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 remakes the third is the best1. I am sure most agree.
Highly recommend trying the Half-Life series drinker, if you hadn't already. Both games still hold up!
Half Life 2 is still one of my favorite games of all time
0:57 I will have to disagree with you here.

7:24 The Drinker is most certainly a man of culture. Well done boyo!
Although someone in the comments already mentioned that Jill being zombified was a nightmare, I think we can agree that Capcom missed out on exploring the subplot of Jill experiencing PTSD
they may have messed this remake up a bit, but they smashed it out the park with the RE4 Remake
I need RE2R review from this man ASAP
I loved RE3R.
Resident Evil 3 is a PS1 classic! Resident Evil 3 remake was disappointing and it's Nemesis was lame too!
Have you tried The Evil Within? It's not perfect and pretty janky but it's probably my favourite Survival Horror game with a great story and some real tense moments.
that game made me shit my pants so much i went broke buying new clothes. great game.
Really enjoyed both of those games
@@ReReNoodlethat’s a serious *code brown* predicament….
He should try both of those games if he hasn't yet. The Evil Within 2 in particular is what I believe the RE3 Remake should of been more like as far as Raccoon City's level design.
I love that Drinker is a RE fan. RE2 will always be one of my faves, but RE3 is also right up there.
Resident Evil is really lucky.
I dont know many other franchises that could withstand 1 *heavily* chopped down remake and two forced multiplayer games, both of which no one asked for, and come out smelling clean. A lesser franchise would get dusted certainly
Never played the original but enjoyed the remake. But it was quite short.
Hey Drinker, I expect a name as big as you to offer crisp 1080p 60fps video quality when talking about games. Thanks and good luck with your gaming journey
Wasn’t the gunshop owner’s secret already revealed in the RE2 remake. His daughter is infected.
You think the original RE3 was a bad side project? Really? I thought it was amazing and surpassed RE1 and RE2 in every way. Still my favorite Resident Evil game to date.
I'm glad you are showing the sexy mods.
30 seconds in and I’m already laughing too much, well done drinker
I love how at 6:32 the captions change, "Licker" to *Liquor" 😂
The resident evil light gun game on the ps1 wasn't too bad
