Can you call Resident Evil 3 a successful remake if it failed to fix any of the issues with the original and cut out a third of the content and gameplay? Take a shot everytime Nemesis has a chance to kill Jill, but doesn't. You won't survive.
Gotta love grabbing her by the head, not crushing it like a grape, tossing her like a rag doll, and then slowly, slooooooooowly, aiming the flame thrower........ And then not pulling the trigger until she's out of range. Fuck this game.

Honestly, original Nemesis actually tried to kill Jill. He'd toss her too, but then immediately try to grab ya to finish her off with the same tentacle attack he used to kill Brad.
I died a lot in RE3 1999. Barely died in the remake. Even Mr. X was a more worthy opponent.

the same thing literally happens in CoD: Modern Warfare 2 where you can yeet the knife either at Shepherd's chest or arm but it always lands on his left eye
that's what happens when the aiming mechanic is control by nokia.
You missed a few sins:
1) No Barry Burton cameo.
2) Nemesis Stage 2 looks like a Xenomorph juiced on steroids.
3) Nemesis Stage 3 looks like the love child of a Xenomorph queen and the Thing from the 1982 film.
4) no Mercenaries mode.

The last sin in the video is actually somewhat false, if you don't shoot Nicholai you can get a "secret" death
Also Jill's "So long, RC" line weirdly trivializes her motivation to help the UBCS in the first place, making the nuking of a whole city just a passing event
Lets be fair the whole game was mercenary mode just a mindless shooter

how about in the opening section when Jill closes the apartment door on nemesis and he actually couldn't get through it.

I kept saying that several times when she closed a door or barricaded a path. I also find it funny how Nemesis always knows where she is and somehow can't kill her.
I expected a sin like: Even though Jill hears Brad extremely distressed and she already went through a lot of shit, his call barely alarms her at all. She's like "wait I gotta get my purse and my hat and I meet you at the bar in 20 minutes".
I always assumed she was going to say something like, "All right. Let me grab my keys." or "Let me grab my gun.".

They also cut 1/3 of the herbs, this remake doesn't even have blue ones.
And gave the green herbs a similar role, but just as abortion medicine for when the Brain Deimos rule34 Jill, in just ONE 10 minutes portion of the game.
Its cause there's no poison so not really any need for blue herbs
I'm glad though, getting poisoned was annoying and didn't really add anything to the game neither did the blue herbs

@@xxvaltielxx1789 In RE2 Remake, the only ennemy that had the potential to poison you were the G-adults (I'm not counting 4th survivor and Ghost survivor as they are not the main game) and there is a "staggering" 7-8 of them in the entire game, all of them being entirely and easily avoidable and exclusively in the sewers.
I got "parasite" more than I got poisoned overall. And it's far more annoying to go through my green herb supply, especially on nightmare/inferno difficulty, than MAYBE using 1 blue herb. The only way to avoid using a green herb is to do the entire Deimos section while being "parasited" and leave (which is ludicrously hard/suicidal at anything higher than standard since you're slowed down to a crawl and can't run, and lose health over-time).

Actualy in Belarus this is a common thing to use first name as a surname. So i guess both Mikhail Viktor and Sergei Vladimir were both from there. That or Capcom didn't really cared at that point.

when he is looking, he dodges. It's why I never shoot the rockets to him, but to the ground he is standing on.
Jill asked how is it that no one in the hospital ever noticed this? My kind sir I've worked 10 years at a place, and they're spots I've never ever been to. Never seen at all, not because I wasn't allowed in that area. Just had no reason to go, so it's possible hospitals are huge! I can understand a small business worker saying this, but when you work for a place the size of 5 warehouses, you CANNOT see it all or have any reason to. You stay where your job is.
not to mention there is files that say that it is a secret room that nurses aren't allowed in , i'm sure doctors knew because they worked for umbrella
I work in a massive manufacturing plant (almost 1000 employees) and other than the very first day I started when the new employees took a tour, I've never been inside certain departments since. I've been there 15 years now.

Especially if it's a place I'll be revisiting daily. I really wanna know all exits and shortcuts, and how to access the roof and shit, not because it might be useful, but because it interests me.

Besides, if we go by your logic, let say there really is a biological weapon being secretly developed in your hospital you're working at, you wouldn't get allowed to get there. Even if you manage to find the secret lab, you wouldn't be alive telling the story about it either way.
Jill only survived every encounter with Nemesis because she had her plot armor on.
I know! and it pisses me off! at least in the old game if Jill survived its because you learned how to fight nemesis but here the creators decided to take a hot steaming dumb on this game as a giant middle finger to us. That's right the Capcom creators gave us the Paul WS Anderson treatment.

The problem is that Nemesis has a personality. Namely, arrogance. Jill is his prey, and him the hunter. So while he could end her easily he also plays with his food quite a bit.

The game was in development for 3-4 years, is incredibly short, and costs $60. If you can't see the problem with that I don't know what to tell you

The miniskirt makes sense over the lara croft 2019 cosplay since Jill was unaware of the virus and that's just her casual wear.
Actually no. In the original, she was fully aware of the outbreak and decided to escape the city, which is why she had her gun with her. You can see this in the intro. It wasn't a casual outfit, it was a costume she chose to wear for her "last escape", so a sleeveless top and a skirt is the most impractical choice a special forces soldier would choose.
In the remake it would make more sense since she was just chilling in her appartment, if it weren't because very few women wear tight leather mini skirts unless they are going to a party or a date.
Jill's dream on the hospital could have been a nice moment to add the clock tower section, a chopper gets there to save her, she goes inside the clock tower and fights the gigant spiders or the remake "Drain Deimos", so she goes to the rooftop, she's safe.....and the chopper gets destroyed by nemesis --"DONE"--

May I remind you that this is the series that had you shoot a bug woman with a lightning/plasma gun, a climax where three people have a gun and fist fight in a volcano without immediately dying and a city built in the middle of the sea being burned down thanks to a satellite focusing sunlight directly on it. Resident Evil has always been incredibly stupid like that. That's part of the charm.

Original RE 3 had you pushing chargers to load a random giant laser cannon placed in the middle of a thrash disposal facility... I can't believe how a laser rifle in the heart of a B.O.W.'s research facility with the last technology for creature control can be a so big deal compared to that.

How is a 4 year development cycle rushing? Modern gamers have no idea how long it takes to make games I guess. Plus if people love this game so what? They are entitled to their opinion just like you.
We get it. You prefer endless fetch quests to give you a fake sense of actual playtime. Anybody that played the original knew this was going to be a shorter experience than other RE's. Plus we already knew months beforehand that Mercenaries was going to be removed for Project Resistance, so that would shorten the replayability. But, people will still make excuses to hate on a game because they can't think for themselves and just parrot what others say.
I don't think Capcom particularly rushed this game (atleast purposefully) though I imagine that was a small element likely so they could capitalise on the success of RE:2. However I think the Development team behind this one was just less capable overall. Whilst I have no evidence It seems as though they were failing to hit deadlines and had no real cohesive plot or solid foundation for this game which is why so many assets, sounds, a.i and more were re used and so much more was cut. Likely so they could accelerate dev time in a bid to make it profitable after losing so much to an inexperienced team.
Ryan Venter No, not fetch quests. Actual value for money would be nice. It's a €60 game. I'd like to see a AAA developer reflect that price tag. To let that go unchecked means that Capcom will think it's fine to do this, which it isn't. The complaints are valid. The game has key areas cut and lots of plot holes, more than even the original. It's laziness and I don't get why people are defending a multi million dollar company, as if they're paying your bills. They did a bad job. The game is way too short and the post game content is non existent. That's not OK for a full priced game.

You could have a separate sin counter for how many times Carlos, a trained Umbrella Agent, points a loaded gun at Jill with his finger on the trigger.
It's BADLY directed, cuts lots of content, completely misses the tone, it's too expensive for what it is... Was made quickly, uninspiredly, without respect for the original nor the fans, for a cash grab... Such a waste! Sad we got this “remake” for RE3 and we likely won't get anything better for a decade or maybe ever. No need of a remake seeing this, tho, the original will always be much better, so... Even more puzzling coming from the same company that made the best remake ever (RE1)!
No one's getting this. This will be the Enigma game by CapCom. You're right though, now they can't make a better than the original RE3. Great first 4 games.

Better advice would be to ask everyone to evacuate to that parking garage from the beginning of RE3 and which, by the way, is right in front of police station. Garage has multiple levels, so it could accommodate plenty of people and you can proceed to evacuate them in groups by helicopter from the rooftop. Also, the building itself contains only one entry point and it could be easily defended against any enemy (that is, unless Nemesis shows up, but he is ordered to chase after S.T.A.R.S members, not civilians).
To take shelter*. There was no evacuation plan in place for Raccoon City. UBCS’ “plan” was an excuse to deploy soldiers into a BOW infested area so Umbrella could gather combat data.
Another sin: After Jill apologizes to Carlos, he tells her that she rescued him first. Carlos is calling back to an event that never happened.
@Aidan Ward That still happened after Carlos saved Jill. He saved Jill when they first met and again just before this scene.
You missed a part...When Carlos trapped Nemesis with the Claymore..He didnt tell Jill about the claymore so she could walk into it instead of Nemesis.
Gökhan Yes and also in the RPD, how does Tyrell get to the Stars office? The steam is blocking the way Carlos got in, and the other sifeyis blocked off with loads of debris, with the library being locked anyway.

Watch the scene again. He doesn't activate the sensor on the claymore until Jill runs past it.
Yeah that part bugs me off too. The red lasers sensor that trigger the explosion is suddenly turned on after Jill walk pass over it.

The biggest sin was not having Shinji Mikami work on the RE remakes. I noticed when he is not working on it the quality of the game drops. That's the problem
To date, while I enjoyed RE2 Remake 2019, Resident Evil 1 Remake 2002 is the best one. Losing the original creator has greatly affected this franchise negatively.
Heck, Shinji Mikami actually got the 1999 original team to add content to RE3, content completely cut by this hack outsourced team.

The Evil Within kind of disproved the Mikami myth. It was an alright game but hardly a masterpiece.
@@Sifer2 Well first impression is "Ah Mikami san at work again, smells alot of RE" the settings and subtle hints to RE are there, I liked it but was frustrating at 1st playthrough, but after that NG+ are fun as hell, that is because now theres more balanced in weapons and ammo, at start you are limited and the sneaking arent the best in the game.
I like the idea of TEW, 1 game is a prototype. I love both 1 & 2.

@Pieces109 the problem is your own white blood cells would destroy the antigens in the vaccine too fast before your body has time to trigger a proper immune response and produce antibodies. there may be exceptions, I'm not sure and it's been a while since immunology.

In the original game...
1) The rail gun wasn't developed by Umbrella. It belonged to the US Army who sent it in along with a squadron of Delta Force. Delta Force was sent in to obtain the G-Virus and the Rail Cannon (named The Demon Sword of Paracelsus) was dropped in to fight against any G mutations they encountered. They were ambushed by 5 T-103 tyrants (5 Mr. Xs) sent by Sergei to wiped them out. Both parties killed the other and the Rail Cannon went unused until Jill, who had once trained with the Delta Force used it to kill Nemesis
Edit: The loss of a Delta Force team was what caused anti-biohazard training in the USSTRATCOM (where Leon & Krauser worked) as well as the formation of FBC from RERevelations
2) Carlos and Jill learned oof the missile strike only after the missile had already launched. Carlos saw the missile on radar systems in the Disposal Plant's Tower and that's how they found out. They were saved by Barry Burton coming to pick up Jill after Nicolai stole the last helicopter.
3) Nicolai served directly under an Umbrella executive named Sergei Vladimir and, under Sergei's orders joined the UBCS as a secret Monitor too, alongside other Monitors, collect Combat Data from the Outbreak and kill any survivors they may come across as well as other UBCS members. Nicolai decides to kill off other Monitors to increase his paycheck. While never officially confirmed that Nicolai survived the outbreak, Capcom has hinted and it is generally accepted that he did survive.
Edit: 4) The outbreak started on the night of the 25th. This game opening takes place on the night of the 28th which means Jill was ignorant for THREE DAYS! In the OG she was trapped in her apartment by chaos during the early hours and when she attempted to escape she was overwhelmed and hid in Dario's warehouse until the 27th.
All of this (except #2) is talked about in other games as well as other different media but all in the RE continuity. ALL of this is removed in the remake.
*sigh* how many sins is that worth? I'm gonna say at least 12 in total.
Thank you , Fuck this garbage reboot of RE3 , it has 0 replayability unlike the masterpiece of the original RE3 Nemesis , This trash Remake also has ,,,, No gas station , No restaurant area when you meet Carlos and fight Nemesis with multiple choices , No park , No graveyard , No clock tower , No giant spiders , no giant brain suckers that has 2 forms , No crows , No grave digger boss , No blood worm leeches , No mine launcher weapon , No freezing rounds , No custom shotgun aka level gun , No eagle handgun that can fire so fast with critical hits , No reloading tool , No upgradable enhanced ammunition , No different choices when facing a boss or a dangerous situation which added huge replayability to the game and changed the play through , Nemesis is scripted and worse than mister X , No epilogue stories after finishing the game , No multiple costumes that you unlock for free , No multiple endings , No mercenary mode as well ,,,,,,, FUCK ,,, THIS ,,,, GARBAGE ,,,, CASH GRAB ,,,,, And fuck Crapcom 🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻.
Correction on 4; If you read one of the notes in Jill's apartment, it states that the force has been keeping an eye on her, and she hasn't left as a result.
@@shintenku Dude, you have anger issues. The game was fun. It was just a bit short with bits removed. Maybe they're holding out with DLC. BTW, one of the ammo types for the grenade launcher was a mine that could literally stick to enemies.

4:47 It's my guess that the Mikhail chose to rescue civilians; the actual orders were to eliminate them (anyone escaping the city would whistleblow umbrella). This is the reason why they had no proper plan to get civilians out of the city.
This decision is also why the higher ups of umbrella sent the T-103's to do what the UBCS wouldn't as tyrants aren't clouded by human morality.
The general rundown in the original was they sent a platoon in to save civilians. That's what all the regular mercenaries like Carlos and Mikhail thought they were there for. There were a given number of supervisors, like Nikolai, who had all the necessary info on what to expect and were to gather combat data to understand how effective they were. Everyone else were just guinea pigs.
Upon gathering as much data as possible they were to ring the bell at the clock tower to signal a rescue chopper and get out. And a chopper did come in the original, but was shot down by Nemesis. Presumably, if any civilians were actually picked up, or even just one of the regular mercenaries, they'd interrogate them to see if they knew the truth of the outbreak or who was behind it, and then decide whether to execute them or just let them go.

I recall they sent a message to Leon to not go to RC but Leon decides to anyways. So it's more of the fact Leon wanted to help out but didn't know things were already out of control long ago.
The outbreak not being public knowledge makes even less sense in the remakes. The original implied that communications had been cut and the city had been quarantined. Claire made the impulsive ride to Raccoon City because the phone lines had been cut and she had already been unable to reach Chris. I always imagined the National Guard was turning people away and Leon/Claire just got unlucky.

The original set it up that it happened so fast that people couldn't even report on it in time. This opening conflicts with the game itself. If these news reports show rioting (why would people riot anyway), then how has Jill who lives in RC, not seen or heard it? How did she not hear all those cars pile up, or police set up road blocks? Or yano just the chaos a viral outbreak like that would cause?
It was, like everything in this game, a lazy decision that makes little sense.

I think the only sin I disagree with is Nemesis being melt in acid. It's made pretty clear that the acid destroyed the body but not the parasite controlling Nemesis like a brain. Nemesis can only be truly killed once the parasite is gone. The parasite then managed to control the melted chunks of meat and the acid around them to become Nemesis phase 3. Jill then puts the rail gun into Nemesis' mouth to obliterate the parasite directly, so Nemesis can't rearrange his body. Apart from that, I *think* I agree with all the other ones, but then again, I'm good at suspending my disbelief, so I don't really care.

Yea. There isn't anything I would change about the original RE3. In fact the huge map was great. The game felt like it was unfolding over and over. In fact I recently watched a WALK THRU WALLS MOD video of RE3REMAKE, and it is obvious that the game was going to be like the original, but I don't know what happened. Is the barrel really the worst of your concerns?
Dragonaut111 to be fair, it’s not really too big a deal. Grenades aren’t that common in RE2, and you don’t exactly tank the damage the enemies give you, you’re actually pretty fragile. So maybe it’s a fair trade off?

I have a theory about why Nemesis went after Jill instead of finishing off Brad. Think about it, they also wanted combat data, Brad wouldn't exactly put up that much of a fight now would he? I think Umbrella changed his orders to go after Jill instead, it's mentioned in a file she was investigating their activities so it would make sense.
It also explains why he plays with her instead of finishing her off on the spot, besides plot armor. I think Nemesis loves to play with his food. The more he combats her, the more he learns until the very end when he probably ends up just getting angry and tries his all to end her. That's my theory!
Then just make that a story point. It's that easy. That's my major issue with this game. So many easy fixes and they just didn't bother.
why the fuck would you need combat data, if you have a perfect situation for Nemesis? this is what he's useful for, give him the arsenal he needs and he could kill half the city if he actually tried

Another sin is the Nemesis transforming into a beast... Seriously he shouldn't become one, as there is no "beast" DNA within the Nemesis parasite or the Mr.X model that he is.

The parasite causes him to transform after receiving heavy damage, in almost the same way Birkin does after every fight.

Where I don't deny Nemesis's lore. The game devs should've used a revamped version of Nemesis's original transformations, instead of what we got.
My issue is mostly with Nemesis's second form. Due to its size it is unable to pursue you throughout the game, post Jill's recovery.
This alone contradicts what the core game play of the original game was about.

Fun fact: the line that Jill says about the radio (which by the way is one of the lines I hate the most from her) was actually an idea of the voice actress, it isn't scripted. The director simply went along with it.

I am a musician too, leaving the conservatory at an advanced stage of my studies there. I think the only reason Jill was being unnecessarily hostile towards Carlos in the beginning was because he worked for Umbrella, which Jill hates with a passion. I don’t think it had anything to do with sexism, just hatred for Umbrella and anyone who wears the logo.
I feel like i have to defend the length of this game a bit...I played Re3 on PS1, it was actually the first RE game I ever played, and I loved it. But, it was a short game, the shortest in the RE series, in fact. One speedrunner finished it in 40 minutes. Just think about that. If you're complaining about the 4 hour length in this game, i think you're too focused on the puzzles that were purposfully hard and confusing to make it seem longer. The remake is short because the original was short. Its mainly the cutscenes, lore finding, and fights that make this game longer than its original. Bullshit, stop with the excuses. The remake is short because Capcom rushed the game so they could release it early. Also, since you're comparing, the original had more areas, multiple narrative paths and was released in fucking 1999. Games have evolved since then.

Mercenaries was a fun way to unlock infinite ammo. RE3 2020? Boring grind.
They could've expanded it, not cut it.
Definitely didn't need the 60$ price tag, another thing is that, compared to re2 this one has almost no replayability, re2 had the leon and claire paths + 2nd run giving it about 4 campaigns, and it also had the time attack modes like 4th survivor and the tofu runs, and later the 4 dlc mini campaigns. Re3 doesn't even have mercenaries like the original and instead comes with that online multiplayer gamemode, which, albeit fun, nobody asked for it and it aint all that great.
@@35antonio Sure, but this is a remake. Re2 did the exact same thing, the problem is that RE2 had more replayability and a better story. The original RE3 was also made in a year and wasnt even supposed to be the third RE game. The original was short, and so is the remake, simple as that. Both games have problems, but they were still fun to play in their own ways
Reggie Loaiza Those 4 campaigns in RE2 Remake have little differences with each other and have continuity issues as well, like Annette dying twice in the same story. They’re not as good as the B scenarios from the original game. RE3 Remake’s Nightmare and Inferno difficulties offer better replay value IMO.
Leon eats vehicle crashes (planes, trains, and automobiles) like Jill eats explosives (explosives, barrels, Nemesis rockets, NUKES)
As short as the game is, I still adore it

It was the original 6 shot, revolving 40mm of the 80's.
This one is a newer, (but very similar looking) copy, made by Milcor.
The only improvement in tech since the 80's here, is IN the modern grenade rounds, in terms of chemistry & explosives..and microtech failsafe fuses.
So you are quite correct in that sense, it IS ACTUALLY just old 80's tech, re-made to look 'new' again, to those with short memories, or just way too young to have a clue either way..

@@bjlewis5431 The Milkor MGL launcher was actually firstly used by the South african defense forces where it was entered into production in 1983 and improved version was then raised in 1996 which was designated as the Milkor 40mm Muliple Grenade Launcher Mk-1, Also making the Sin incorrect as the Launcher was in use and available prior to 1998 Where as the Arwen 37 Launcher was designed for the British Army as a none lethal launcher for Riot control.
I was confused when he said that grenade launcher was made in 2014.

I'm not absolutely certain, I've not played with or researched much on 40mm grenades since my discharge from the Army over a decade ago..
But I believe Milcor created a modified version of its MGL to take the longer casing 40mm 'Hellhound' rounds, about that time.
Similar to thermobaric warheads, but for 40mm.
Some research would be required before I could call that fact though..
My prior knowledge & training in this area has highly likely been superseded in many regards in the last 15 years or so.
Companies like Metal Storm & Raytheon were doing amazing stuff even back then..

Before the game was announced, I tweeted that I hope Capcom could give a better explaination on how Leon and Jill missed each other in the police station. The plot that Jill fainted for three days in origin RE3 was too far-fetched. Never could I foresee that they solved this problem by utterly deleted the police station scene.
This remake is arguably worse as Carlos pretty much cleans house at the RPD before Leon and Claire show up.
In the original the RPD waa used to give Nemesis a badass introduction, a little RE2 fan service, and to get a random weapon drop.

Concerning the “cash grab” sin: After the success of the original RE2, Capcom did nothing to further the plot in any major way with any of its releases, and ended up going too far with plot advancement by shoehorning in Umbrella’s demise in the opening of RE4. RE3 did more to further/conclude the Raccoon City arc than Veronica did, honestly. The end of Umbrella could have potentially shelved a lot of fans’ interest in the series so they tried to abstain from doing so until the overall creativity steadily declined.
I feel like they did a good job with remaking the 3rd game considering what it was meant to be and how it was to play in the first place, though yes, the original did some things better than the remake did. I’ve not played RE7 myself (nor do I really have much desire to) so I can’t really comment on it, but compared to 4-6 and the fact that some modern gameplay approaches have replaced classic elements that a lot of people hold in higher regard, I’d say the last two releases are superior to what preceded them going back to Code Veronica. The RE2 remake is more in line with what I had anticipated 4 to be like (the ‘Hookman’ version) and I hope that they will continue the series forward with that balance.

The only difference is when you do nothing. Then Carlos will be killed and Jill gets a knive in the head.

1. Claire and Leon went to Raccoon City one day after that, when nearly everybody was already dead, or a zombie.
2. Jill was asleep and woke up to the hell of the outbreak and we clearly see it. She literally questions Brad as to how it happened so fast.
She was asleep while her building was on fire...

@@bryanna8850 Well looking at how the fire has gone in her apartment building, looks like its been going on more than 20 minutes. And no smoke or smell of it, since the fires is from below.
Someone should count all the convenient things that were placed throughout the game to allow the plot to move along. So far I can think of three:
1. Finding the pistol off the dead cop
2. Finding the car that Jill uses to ram Nemesis off the building.
3. The final Nemesis boss fight that just so happens to have a giant railgun built into it. Looking at the room itself, the railgun has no reason to be there. Without Nemesis, there's nothing to shoot at, and the final shot puts holes through the back wall, and multiple other walls after it, which seems rather impractical to say the least. Also Jill immediately knows how to operate said railgun.
5:18 i think Jill is not supposed to be the "strong woman" in this case. She picks on Carlos, because he is Umbrella, she likes him. Her interactions with Kendo show that she is written more like a normal person, who is good mate and not the "strong women" who shittalkes everyone she meets. I really liked the scene and thought it showed her "desire" of Carlos, but she has to hate him because of Umbrella.
@Games No reason? Jill just found out Carlos works for Umbrella, the same company that destroyed Raccoon city and killed off most of the population. Now she's having to work alongside them to save the passengers on the train. I'm pretty sure her attitude is justified.

@@Evilsilentresident I'm talking about her attitude when Carlos gives her a radio to keep in touch. The way she talks to the injured Russian accented guy on the train. She may soften over time, but that's no excuse for a terrible "I'm a bad girl" attitude. Also, most guy would be as "perfect" as Carlos is for Jill. Any sane guy would think she's a witch that doesn't get a second chance.
Jill being a nemesis from the beginning to explain how she survives so much shit and how she uses the railgun so easily would have been neat.
