Sir Lagsalot lol xd my 970 used to have coil whine..but it went away.i can still hear it while fps is above 300 or smth stupid like that.in a way i miss it :(
I have the non extreme version and I'm perfectly happy with it, I have no problems with it. It IS flimsy but once you get it in the case then it really doesn't matter too much unless you're someone who likes to mess around with your parts a lot.
well, company don't send reviews products to dishonest reviewers, jays does his job well,I would not bet that exposing the truth about a faulty product mean loosing future reviews samples, it's the opposite! ;)
mb 67 Well maybe they should improve there build quality. I recently upgraded from a Gigabyte Z87x-OC which had fantastic build quality to the new Aorus gaming 7 motherboard and can tell u it felt like a down grade, the plastics on the board feel cheap and the BIOS is uglier and worse then my older Z87x
Gigabyte has been going down the drain for some years. Not only their build quality but software and bios are also buggy pieces of shit compared to how well MSI works/feels. Especially on low/mid tiers the difference is huge.
funnily enough that case came out after the xtreme gaming with the dual internal hdmi's. Either way they made the right decision to ditch it, kinda pointless to have it there
unfortunately that will only work if you have a 5:25" bay, and most modern cases have been ditching them completely, with the exception of the much larger cases
First Gamers Nexus calls MSI out for their bloatware, then Jay just straight up breaks a piece of his 1080 from Gigabyte off.... It's like these guys are just trying to lose their sponsorships! Lol, jk. I really appreciate the honesty and what you guys do, knowing it could potentially cost you some revenue.
Yota_Ninja dont forget Linus chopping up a mini 1080 and having them rush him another, or when he dropped a z270 mobo and broke it in 5 days... and yet they had another set aside just for him because they expected him to break it lol
Backplates radiate heat. Doesnt mater what linus said, simple thermals. Cant get around that fact. Yes it doesnt directly effect the gpu core temp but that isnt the only thing on the card and people tend to forget that.
Ugh.. Linus has to be one of the largest spreaders of misinformation out there. Exactly what Alexundre said, It's simply impossible for it to not effect temps.
Yes. I will gladly pay extra for the aesthetics of a back-plate. But I dont want to admit that so I am going to insist its to save in temps. Now... if only I had a temperature sensor with enough precision to measure hundredths of a degree...
The only honest and precise review I have ever watched for this card. I bought a desktop (3.6K dollars) and when it arrived, one of this cards' fan was not rotating!! It was stuck!!! I sent the card back for replacement...I cannot believe such a mistake from Gigabyte. I ordered on 16/06/2018 and I cannot still use my desktop since they just sent me a new card which all the fans rotate.....
It's made of plastic because it's light. And when you put in a case, you don't touch it. Why would it break if you installed the card carefully and made sure to take care while installing? When I was installing my own card, I was very careful. It's not a piece of wood you throw around.
Zulhardy Rahim he's showing the pathetic quality material in the shroud. It's super thin metal, should be better so that it doesn't get ruined if there's any kind of pressure on it during shipping packing.
point is it costs a damn fortune, and forums are filled with 200+pages of people RMA their aorus cards because the fans cant turn when the shrouds bend during shipping. to have this kind of flimsy bullshit on a 750$+ card is an insult. imo
That's like taking a card with a plastic shroud, beating it on the table, then saying "GOD! LOOK HOW FLIMSY IT IS" - nobody with a sane mind would ever do that.
I have gigabyte rx 580 with the windforce cooler (plastic shroud), first one of the corners broke off (one of the 4 screw holes connecting the shroud to the heatsink), then one of the fans died, then the other 3 corners broke and the shroud came off completely. Gigabyte needs to step up their build quality in the gpu department
It's not a piece of the cooler, it's just a piece of the cover, it's like breaking a piece of your smartphone's cover. The phone works great, it just doesn't look as great anymore
epicwarding that is a smart decision, hows it holding up as a whole for newer titles? i have a regular 1080, ive debated it. but i cant jusrify it to myself. even got a 165hz pannel 1440 p also.
well i came from GTX 780 wich ive had for years now. needed upgrade, waited several weeks after 1080ti's release to get the prices in my country to go down from 950 Euros to 850 Euros and then finally went for it. the performance boost compared to my old Card is so nutty, that i dont regret it at all. even thou my previous card costed 679 Euros and lasted only 4 and half years for me. couldnt wait longer. 780 started to be too out dated for my monitor but this ... oh my... it quite literally destroy's any game you throw at it . with few expections like Metro series where you turn Super sample AA on, you kinda drop too much frames for my taste. i rather have 144fps all the time (limited to 144 by Gsync), Card goes aloooot higher in most games The thing i like most is that theres alot of older games i can ramp up now to 8x AA at 1440p and everyhting max settings i played thru BF3 BF4 , Metro 2033 Redoux and Metro last light redoux all over again past few days. and they look so crazy at ultra with AA and 144fps at 1440p... man...i just cant help to think that "this is how you really should play games" heh i could only play older games with my GTX 780 =/ it was a 2013 card afterall
boyoboy I can't believe I almost went 6 years... on midgrade hardware. That upgrade back in December last year felt great to finally be able to game at max settings again.
four years? i feel outdated when new gpus come out and end up making a loss each time for having the best to push for 144hz at 1440p. I've recently sold 2 1080s to buy Aorus 1080ti and will be selling this once volta comes out (hopefully to go with 4k 144hz monitor)
Dennis Rigdon Do u think a regular 1080 like yours could hold 144fps on 1440p? Maybe not on all titles at ultra-maxed out but on high-ultra with some tweaks?
well, it seems the 1m subs would be doubling soon if this quality of content continues. I can't find another channel with such PC porn. love for you and your family from India Jay.
I have a Aorus Xtreme, and have to say personally speaking build quality isn't an issue when you water cool your GPU. EK just released there full cover blocks for this card so good things coming.
Jay reviews every card and variant under the sun. Why exclude a new card? Also its not just 10% faster. I own it and it's on average 15-20% faster with an overclock. I just wanted to see his opinion on it.
Mine is the same, I can't get over 2000 MHZ using default aggressive fan curve. My only complaint is how loud the blower style fans get. Witcher 3 and Crysis 3 are 2 games I have ran across with the card where I can't do 4k 60. GTAV though at 4k 60 maxed is great with the card.
Had to return this card, it caused irritating popping sounds on my system during gameplay, TH-cam, MP3...basically everything. I have a MSI 1080 Ti now and no sound problems.
Only it wasn't the 1080ti you broke shroud on, that's the 1080... Points for dramatic effect lost. Yea i get they probably the same or nearly identical. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Kay Gech from my under standing you reomve the shroud and my need to push it back flat if it doesn't do it by it's self so any one that shows how to remove the shroud, I don't have a video off the top of my head but it should be the back plate screws and maybe a plug or 2 just keep in mind that you should replace the thermal paste if you do this
It may sound like non-sense for some, but if you put the computer inside a case, the noise is amplified alot, same reason why listening to music in a small room sounds so loud and listening in a big room, sounds way more silent. You need big speakers to hear them in an open area, because sound is not bouncing around, like in a closed case.
VR ready tempered glass That's an amazing idea! Someone should make a sketch out of that. I think Kyle would be able to do that. No wait, modular tempered glass, with RGB backplate and usb C
Thanks for showing us the fragility. That shroud was designed by marketers. Looking cool was more important than functions well. I hope the company saw this and gives their design engineers more respect.
For some reason I get recommendations of all your 1080 ti reviews from 4-5y ago , might as well watch all of em. 1080 ti was the best thing ever imo. And honestly it still is.
Vuln3r0 Vidz I use it with an adapter to connect my Oculus Rift, since I have a DVI to HDMI Adapter and my TV is only HDMI, and the last time I tried a display port adapter it fried the ports on my 1080.
The inside HDMI is meant to plug the front panel HDMI of the Case, if it has one for VR, into the card easily. Don't know why they'd put two on the inside though.
Definitely good review Jay, and what I especially liked is that you did an actual review of the card, rather than just doing benchmarks for most of the video, and that's something I noticed lately with card reviews on YT. Reviews actually turn into a 2 minute speech about the specs of the card, and 5-15 minutes of benchmarks, and I have to say, that's not a review of the card! It's a benchmark run, and it should be labelled as such. Anyway, thanks again for the review.
2:46 If I remember correctly, the inner HDMI ports are ment to be connected to an internal 5.25-inch drive bay adapter, a pass-through to the front side of your computer case, so that you don't need to inconveniently plug / unplug the cables into the back HDMI ports of the graphics card every time you want to use your VR headsets. It's meant for convinience. To relocate one of those two internal HDMI ports (GTX 1080) back to the back bracket (GTX 1080 Ti) is kinda against the intended purpose of those internal connectors, in my opinion. It's stupid.
So senpai can notice them.... Idk, just let them be, my theory is that it gives them a sense of accomplishment or victory in life. Let em be happy bro.
Thanks Jay. I recently got an Aorus Extreme GTX 1080 and had the fan issue. I ended up returning it and getting an EVGA 1080 FTW Hybrid after watching your video on it. Keep it up, love the videos!
I've got the Aorus RX 580, and it has a plastic shroud, and it feels much more robust than that flimsy piece of metal that you broke off. They made the right move for the RX 580. I still cringed when you broke that piece off, though. Haha. Thanks, Jay!
So I bought an open box item from Newegg about a month ago. It had a 1080ti Strix. After a month of studying and occasional gaming, the computer display went black. Restarted the PC and it worked, but I still felt there was something wrong. After opening the case there was water/liquid in the back plate of the card and inside where you plug in the PCI-e power cables into the graphics card. There also seemed to be some sort of calcium buildup-looking between some free prongs on the mother board. Once I cleaned up with alcohol and dried everything, the GPU just refused to work no matter what I did. I have never been so heart broken and confused in my life. As random as my comment is, what the hell do you guys think it was? No liquid cooling, and desktop is placed on my desk and no water exposed to it at all.
So true!!! The quality of the shrouds needs to be better. What's cool though is that a high quality plastic shroud can be both high quality and incredibly light. Lets take my Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 6GB G1 Gaming as an example, incredibly light (no GPU sag whatsoever), but the shroud is pretty strong in my opinion. Flex isn't bad at all.
Bought a 1080 with a bog standard vapor chamber cooler for 390 bux from ebay. don't really care for the fancy cooling systems nor a back plate. she shifts some air at full flight but that sound is sweetness to my ears when pushing my games to the limit so the noise doesn't bother me one bit.. It's not like annoying whine or anything, Just that sweet swoosh knowing she is rocking ;)
The ending was worth it! Thank you Jay, I had the 970 EGOC and it was a great card even had better RGBness with those halo leds on the fans. But when I upgraded to the 1080ti I stayed away from the Aorus line for the very reason you demonstrated! Thanks for the great vids Jay!
I love the new outtro. "Thats been my two cents, take it for what it is" Its great! Some channels have the same catchphrase they use at the end of a video and that one is perfectly fitting for you. Keep it!
I just bought the Aorus extreme. These cards are do close together that it doesn't really matter. I choose the Aorus because I thought it looked the best.
I have the Xtreme Gaming G1 1080 and its actually held really well. I recently reapplied new thermal paste and its good at 1440p but already seeing a big of age not noticable. Hopefully once 3080s become more available to actually upgrade.
Wow, thanks for breaking that off. I really mean it, was considering getting an Aorus card, but if they use this flimsy stuff and that's the only deciding factor, I'll take the competition.
Can't lie, this card still has my attention. Do you think a 1080 ti OC would be bottle necked by the i5-7600k without over clocking the cpu? I'm building my list for a 4k rig.
You seem much more relaxed lately Jay. Loving the studio eh? I love the somewhat informal tone of this video. Feels more like one hobbyist talking to another, than a scripted presentation that some reviews feel like.
MSI really brings the heat with mid-high end components. I've never even heard the fans on my 1070, it stays so cool and has the lowest price point and higher end performance for the group. It appears the same with the 1080ti On the downside most of their cards come in any colors you want, as long as they are red and black.
Good video Jay, I like that you mention how slight the differences are in between different versions of the game GPU. It is something that seems to be over dramatized a bit in the community. However, I personally like to see the slight differences in between the cards.
Thanks jay for the honesty! That's why I watch them videos! Also ftw3 produces a lot of heat! More than what I'm use to on my 970. I know it's a whole different thing but I felt my glass and it feels very warm.
Basically the same cheap construction as the 1080 xtreme gaming card. Looks good but as soon as you pick it up you can see how cheaply made it is. Its like they used the thinnest metal possible for the shroud, probably a few recycled coke cans in there.
Jay. Thank you. You've got +1 subscriber now. The ending was...shocking, because as far as I understand, to break off a piece of a sponsored (assuming) product is against your future interests. Correct me if I'm wrong about the sponsorship part. Otherwise, this was a lot of useful information. I am going to switch my initial pick of MSI 1080 ti to a EVGA equivalent now.
Jay, since your so big (no pun intended, promise) on watercooling, wouldn't it be better if you focus a bit more on the stuff that would make a difference once you swap the factory cooler for a waterblock?
I'd still buy one if I were in the market, have a 980ti on custom water loop... Have yet had to drop video settings on 2k. Cheaper than most of the other cards and with the pittance saved (in comparison to the cards cost) would put a water block on it.
Science appreciates your contribution Jay ;)
Now glue it back on!
Could i use chewing gum to glue aluminium?
I have no idea, ask Jay he'e the science guy. I just came here for the back boobs.
qwer ty yes but keep it wet and fresh. dry gum doesnt work
awesome thanks for the help.
qwer ty No problem. feel free to ask any time
I cant hear any coil whine in the video over the coil whine from my 970.
Sir Lagsalot lol xd my 970 used to have coil whine..but it went away.i can still hear it while fps is above 300 or smth stupid like that.in a way i miss it :(
Same here, and mine's a Gigabyte one, great products! /s
Well it is 3.5 times louder...
Sir Lagsalot I couldnt hear the coilwhine over my tinnitus
rekt = √
oh wait D:
the 3.5 jokes will NEVER die
I have the non extreme version and I'm perfectly happy with it, I have no problems with it. It IS flimsy but once you get it in the case then it really doesn't matter too much unless you're someone who likes to mess around with your parts a lot.
But if it stops working like mine and you have to ship it then it will be a night mare for you.
There goes any future Gigabyte product reviews.
well, company don't send reviews products to dishonest reviewers, jays does his job well,I would not bet that exposing the truth about a faulty product mean loosing future reviews samples, it's the opposite! ;)
if he would loose product reviews because he's Honest then it wouldn't be a product I want !
actually jay slammed them harder before, when they had the idea of a 3 WAY SLI watercooled =VllbwbeGS7s
mb 67 Well maybe they should improve there build quality. Especially on low/mid tiers the difference is huge.
10/10 for going as far as ripping that piece off to make your point
Thank you; We appreciate that you listen to your subscribers. Coil whine is a big problem with my current setup.
The Internal HDMI port is meant for cases such as NZXT's S340 Elite which has an HDMI port included in the case's front panel IO.
but not 2, there's no case with dual front HDMI (yet).
I have that case and I always wondered how you're supposed to connect that HDMI port, now I know
funnily enough that case came out after the xtreme gaming with the dual internal hdmi's. Either way they made the right decision to ditch it, kinda pointless to have it there
Pointless to *most*.
unfortunately that will only work if you have a 5:25" bay, and most modern cases have been ditching them completely, with the exception of the much larger cases
When your crappy laptop can't handle 1080p but that's all there is
But you keep watching the slideshow because of your dedication.

Literally came from that video. I was thinking the exact same thing :P
Yota_Ninja dont forget Linus chopping up a mini 1080 and having them rush him another, or when he dropped a z270 mobo and broke it in 5 days... and yet they had another set aside just for him because they expected him to break it lol
Yeah but can't one just easily delete the MSI Bloatware if they wanted to?
It has to do with their monitoring software for laptops, not MSi Afterburner.. Yes you can remove it.
If anything it should be helping the companies to improve themselves and their products.
You guys dont realize this but, EVGA pays Jay a lot more that Gigabyte. Thats 100% real too.
It's 01:30 in the morning in Croatia. The best time to watch cards you can't afford :D PS: Don't sleep at 19:00, you will wake up at midnight :P
Same here in Hungary, but I woke up at yesterday 9:00 :)
PS.: I need to sleep after this :)

That ending...... Damn. :/
I'm not a Gigabyte's fan but this is.....um.......I don't know. This broke my heart. :/
He did it in the name of Science, sadly Science will never appreciate his sacrifice.
$700 this should not happen.
Don't be sad, hes probably going to put a waterblock on it, it is Jay we are talking about here.
HAHA
the quality is garbage thats what he meant
Didn't Linus do a video debunking the Aorus Xtreme's backplate's effect on temps?
GN did
Han W both did
Backplates radiate heat. Doesnt mater what linus said, simple thermals. Cant get around that fact. Yes it doesnt directly effect the gpu core temp but that isnt the only thing on the card and people tend to forget that.

"VR ready" is like the tech worlds "Gluten free".
More akin to ianything or HD paint.
DESTROY A GPU COOLER (it is for sience) liked the sentence so much :D
Rodired he didn't destroy it...
he broke off a piece
It's not a piece of the cooler, it's just a piece of the cover, it's like breaking a piece of your smartphone's cover. The phone works great, it just doesn't look as great anymore
i know i know but it was just cool or funny combined with the senttence
That's why i prefer Asus and EVGA GPUs, so durable, even MSI did a better work with the coil whine and the build
JakeOcowell I love asus strix but if your card randomly dies you're screwed.
@@tf2excession agreed, evga has awesome service
You guys haven't even watched the whole video yet. Are we all down here to say hi to one another? Hi.
1spaghetti32 Hi
1spaghetti32 Nah, we're here to talk about sweaty back boobs
1spaghetti32 h0i
Hello :)
Come for the cards, stay for the science!
i bought the MSI Gaming X version of the GTX 1080ti few days ago and im loving it
i bought it for 1440p 144fps gaming, not for 4k 60fps gaming
epicwarding that is a smart decision, hows it holding up as a whole for newer titles? i have a regular 1080, ive debated it. but i cant jusrify it to myself. even got a 165hz pannel 1440 p also.

The thing i like most is that theres alot of older games i can ramp up now to 8x AA at 1440p and everyhting max settings
i played thru BF3 BF4 , Metro 2033 Redoux and Metro last light redoux all over again past few days. and they look so crazy at ultra with AA and 144fps at 1440p... man...i just cant help to think that "this is how you really should play games"
heh i could only play older games with my GTX 780 =/ it was a 2013 card afterall
boyoboy I can't believe I almost went 6 years... on midgrade hardware. That upgrade back in December last year felt great to finally be able to game at max settings again.

FSP have made a water-cooled Power Supply Unit, which Jays has to get and do a test set up.
that ending, but nice to know if you are looking for a new gpu
This is such a lovely card. Temperatures look pretty good, but the RGB makes it... cooler.
well, it seems the 1m subs would be doubling soon if this quality of content continues. I can't find another channel with such PC porn. love for you and your family from India Jay.
you should check out singularity computers then. he builds the most beatiful comüputers ive ever seen
Check out Hardware Cannucks for camera porn
true lol, Dimitri and Eber are the king of B-roll, Jay is the king of watercooling
rajendra bisht Hardware Unboxed is bae aswell ^^
SingularityComputers and Desclasified Systems, you're welcome
I have a Aorus Xtreme, and have to say personally speaking build quality isn't an issue when you water cool your GPU. EK just released there full cover blocks for this card so good things coming.
Can you please review the Titan Xp (2017) model?

For science... meaning he gets free samples so yeah. Win win for him.
My ASUS GTX680 FTW was built like a tank. Still running actually with zero issues.
...I meant GTX680 DC2U (not FTW)
They make it so that you HAVE to download the software in order to set it to OC mode, that is the main reason why they do that.
Tech Showdown for manual oc i prefer the gaming mode is more stable the frequency ...
the ending did it for me ... very much appreciated to see that
You broke it for science, now you should send it to me and I'll fix it. For science, of course!
Before anyone gets angry about it Jay's the type to watercool his cards. That cooler was probably not going to be used anyway.
can you plz do a review of the zotac 1080ti amp extreme
This is the flavor of 1080ti I bought one hell of an upgrade from my Radeon 7850. Good stuff.
Only it wasn't the 1080ti you broke shroud on, that's the 1080... Points for dramatic effect lost. Yea i get they probably the same or nearly identical. ;-) ;-) ;-)
JoniBoy Chi he used the 1080 because the fans wouldn't turn
at 8:45 you can see it is the 1080 not the 1080ti, good catch but they both have the same shroud material
The card (1080) worked perfectly fine after removing the shroud and re aligning the fans, as shown in a previous video.
"Yea i get they probably the same or nearly identical".
Kay Gech from my under standing you reomve the shroud and my need to push it back flat if it doesn't do it by it's self so any one that shows how to remove the shroud, I don't have a video off the top of my head but it should be the back plate screws and maybe a plug or 2 just keep in mind that you should replace the thermal paste if you do this
The most honest, straight-forward and dedicated person on TH-cam as far as computer parts are concerned. Really, thank you Jay :)
LOL, EVGA is still the TOP choice!
If EVGA started selling RGB video cards people would only buy from them. (Exaggeration but a lot of people would)
Default Profile Picture Wait, what do you mean? EVGA does RGB GPU's ;o
Default Profile Picture lmao um they do already
Kyle Morton yeah around 40 c or a bit higher I have the ti ftw3 around 59 c 50 percent fan
or if u have founders card already add the hybrid cooler. the ti one also works with titan xp if u have it.
It may sound like non-sense for some, but if you put the computer inside a case, the noise is amplified alot, same reason why listening to music in a small room sounds so loud and listening in a big room, sounds way more silent. Vr ready doritos

VR ready tempered glass
That's an amazing idea! Someone should make a sketch out of that. I think Kyle would be able to do that.
No wait, modular tempered glass, with RGB backplate and usb C
Why have we not seen "VR Ready" VR yet? i think it'll be the next game changer
Already a thing, google "Doritos VR Battle"...
VR Ready Chair!
Thanks for showing us the fragility. That shroud was designed by marketers. Looking cool was more important than functions well. I hope the company saw this and gives their design engineers more respect.
He scienced the shit outa that.
Thanks for the shroud test. Please check if they can withstand a 50 cal and if they survive the hydraulic press.
haha, Gigabyte will never send Jay a card again!
For some reason I get recommendations of all your 1080 ti reviews from 4-5y ago , might as well watch all of em. 1080 ti was the best thing ever imo. And honestly it still is.
does anyone still use dvi on cards like these?......
Vuln3r0 Vidz I use it with an adapter to connect my Oculus Rift, since I have a DVI to HDMI Adapter and my TV is only HDMI, and the last time I tried a display port adapter it fried the ports on my 1080.
It's big in Asia apparently, specifically Korea I think.
Filip S no, a lot of 144Hz monitors are G-Sync and G-Sync requires displayport.
The inside HDMI is meant to plug the front panel HDMI of the Case, if it has one for VR, into the card easily. Don't know why they'd put two on the inside though.
inb4 jay doesnt get cards to review anymore because he breaks them XD
Definitely good review Jay, and what I especially liked is that you did an actual review of the card, rather than just doing benchmarks for most of the video, and that's something I noticed lately with card reviews on YT. Reviews actually turn into a 2 minute speech about the specs of the card, and 5-15 minutes of benchmarks, and I have to say, that's not a review of the card! It's a benchmark run, and it should be labelled as such. Anyway, thanks again for the review.
I'm a simple guy. If I see JayzTwoCents, I click.
Why do people always want to be first in the comments
Jordan lee123 Makes em feel special. Usually just a preteen trying to get attention somehow
So senpai can notice them.... Idk, just let them be, my theory is that it gives them a sense of accomplishment or victory in life. Let em be happy bro.
First reply!
It's just a thing that dates back to before Google started fucking with TH-cam.
I have no idea. Makes them feel special or something?
I have two of these and a 1080 in a mining machine, absolute monsters in Skein.
That card might be broken... Id still take it in a giveaway xD ahaha, great video though. #JustAJoke
There is no joke, I would take it as is.
I agree on my 1070 Gigabyte card I had to bend it so the fans would stop rubbing right out of the box.
The surprise is that the ending is past 10 minutes.
$$$
Thanks Jay. I recently got an Aorus Extreme GTX 1080 and had the fan issue. I ended up returning it and getting an EVGA 1080 FTW Hybrid after watching your video on it. Keep it up, love the videos!
#BreakThingsForScience
really appreciate the increase in quality Jay (quality of the videos)
no one gives a shit about the 1080 ti anymore
And why is that some people still love the 980 series
germgoatz What are you taking about? They just came out..
to be this weak for $700 you have got to be crazy. If I pay $700 I want a tank.
Antoinne patton This isn't the only 1080 TI..
Go Ca They use the same material in the shroud.
I know this video is old but I would like to compliment you on the lighting it is perfect.
You can buy 5.25" front panel with HDMI and connect it to card's front HDMI. Nice idea.
Jay Broke that piece off like a BOSS!!!!! no nonsense Jay FTW
I'm glad that you pointed that out, thank you.
That's 9:25 was really unexpected, i love it.
Man Steve hammers on MSI, Jay hammering on Aorus, all in the span of a few minutes. I love it, keep these companies in their place.
lovely video. great info. and the Cherry on top breaking that flimsy piece of hardware and showing how brittle the metal fins are.
Can't lie, this card still has my attention. Do you think a 1080 ti OC would be bottle necked by the i5-7600k without over clocking the cpu?
I'm building my list for a 4k rig.
Same story with my Aorus RX580, some pretty significant coil while
Some editing issues. But you are clearly getting much better at this "full time youtuber" thing. Great job
The end was Awesome! For science! The entire video was great!
You seem much more relaxed lately Jay. Loving the studio eh? I love the somewhat informal tone of this video. Feels more like one hobbyist talking to another, than a scripted presentation that some reviews feel like.
new favorite computer tech youtuber keep up the good work jays
MSI really brings the heat with mid-high end components. I've never even heard the fans on my 1070, it stays so cool and has the lowest price point and higher end performance for the group. It appears the same with the 1080ti On the downside most of their cards come in any colors you want, as long as they are red and black.
Hey Jay. Thanks for acknowledging the lady!
Good video Jay, I like that you mention how slight the differences are in between different versions of the game GPU. It is something that seems to be over dramatized a bit in the community. However, I personally like to see the slight differences in between the cards.
its nice to see you improved your graphs design..
I didn't hear the coil whine at all, but then again it's also really hard to pick up with a microphone
Thanks jay for the honesty! That's why I watch them videos! Also ftw3 produces a lot of heat! More than what I'm use to on my 970. I know it's a whole different thing but I felt my glass and it feels very warm.
😂😂😂loved the end.
Its EVGA for me all the way. The cards are much thinner but with better cooling and just as good if not better performance.
Basically the same cheap construction as the 1080 xtreme gaming card. Looks good but as soon as you pick it up you can see how cheaply made it is. Its like they used the thinnest metal possible for the shroud, probably a few recycled coke cans in there.
Bought this second hand in mid 2018 for 550 Euros or so.. Maybe goes down as the best purchase I've ever made, as far PC components are concerned.
Vega Founder Edition and Vega RX would be nice as soon as you can get them....
That looked like a really clean break too.
Though, any chance that new hole in the shroud could helped improve the card any?
great reviews Jay, and thank you for talking about the shrowd, they need to change it
Jay.
Lets make our own fan shroud from old computer cases with tank aluminum sheets for the graphics card coolers and recycle
totaly agree I had Aorus 1080ti- horrible coil whine, as a result exchanged it with MSI gaming X 1080ti.
