I now get it why they are so good together... they are two of the most intelligent, intellectual, and educated comedians who give and take proper funny and actually witty vibes!! Thats what separates them from others..
I don't know how he does it, but Conan NEVER fails to make me laugh. He could be filiming on a potato in a tornado talking about leprechauns and I would watch the crap out of it.
(Also, these two bicker exactly like brothers. Their humour melds beautifully together.)
I think he knows the essence of comedy. Most comedians need to work up to it, Conan just knows what comedy is at the end of the day. I think it might be because of all the dry British humor that inspired him.

Well there's jokes and there's humor, and Conan has proven time and again he doesn't need to speak the language to make people laugh. Well, some of the people, anyway lol
Conan makes shots like an older brother would to his beloved younger brother, and Steven absorbs those shots and has a way of firing it right back at him. Their relationship is adorable lol.
What about the scenario you described is supposed to sound uninteresting ?
I love these guys, two of the best late night hosts of all time: fast on their feet, silly but deep, and hilarious. Both have adapted well to doing shows from home, and they'll forever be joined at the hip as the only two hosts to replace Letterman.
They are definitely the most intellectual hosts in late night, seems like they would always be the smartest guys in most rooms
colbert isn't good enough of an interviewer to be classified as the best host of all time.

Is it just me or do they have their own language? Like I kinda understand what they're saying... but they fully understand what each other is saying... like twin toddlers talking to one another. (Point is I love their brotherhood.)
you should listen to Stephen Colbert's episode of Conan's podcast. they really do have a unique kinship with one another
They also both know exactly what it's like to do these shows, and it's like they're just skipping all the things they don't like about doing interviews. It's very entertaining
This is the funniest I’ve ever seen Colbert, which just pays tribute to the fact that Conan as an interviewer always brings the best out of a guest. He makes Fallon look like a middle school morning home period student ran announcement show.
It may be really who he is, but I can't watch Fallon. His over the top responses to guests just comes off so phony.

Trevor Noah or Seth Meyers are almost the same than before, but Colbert, at the beginning of covid,... that was sad, he had lost all his mojo and was just boring.
Now I suspect he gets his wife or staff high or drunk or some reason to be happy - often - to make sure they laugh at each joke, because some laughs seem unnatural honestly.
I like Stephen Colbert but man we need him to go back to normal, I'm tired to feel his pain.
I WISH TV was like this. These guys are so intelligent and have to settle for basic cables cheap thrills to entertain the lemmings.
When things return to "normal", these two should have a new reoccurring segment where they interview each other. This is gold!
Conan doesn’t have to be doing these shows from his home I think he genuinely likes entertaining people and isn’t doing it for the money or anything like that which is why I think that makes him the best talk show host of our generation

Colbert is so subtly from Charleston. Relaxed but hair still coiffed perfectly. A Boykin Terrier (SC state dog). He looks like he could be enjoying an old fashioned at a moments notice.

Stephen and Conan are crushing it these days, broadcasting from their respective homes, and the two Jimmys are failing miserably. They seem totally out of place and uncomfortable. Stephen and Conan manage to pull it off, despite the circumstances. I think it's because they have DECADES of experience as comedy writers, and they're experts at improv comedy

Maybe they had to or maybe they did it out of an abundance of caution. Pretty crazy world if you can get sued for reading some lines you wrote and suggesting you wanted to put them to the tune of a song but didn't.
I dare Conan to ask Stephen to show his copy of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
If there's one good thing that's come out of this quarantine, it's Conan's episodes. I hope he could continue this format because his humor and personality translate so well on TH-cam. I'm not really one for watching celebrity channels on here but I would rush in to subscribe to Conan's channel.

I don't know about other TH-cam viewers, but I'd love to hear about these two guys' ancestors. I have the utmost respect for people who have history in the U.S. Much love to you all in the U.S. who are isolating yourselves to stop the spread of the coronavirus. I hope this pandemic can at least bring us all around the world closer as one people.

Two really good comedians tagging eachother back & forth always kills. On stage, TV, TH-cam or on Zoom. Say, like Attel & Ross? But Colbert & Conan are improvising this - while self censoring for CBS & TH-cam.
