My New Way of Shooting Car Rolling Shots! DJI Osmo Pocket 3!

- With the DJI Osmo Pocket 3, the quality of recording rolling shots of a vehicle just got simpler! No more hanging out a car or crazy complicated setups. Best of all, you don't need a friend or spouse/girlfriend to drive your car... you can do this completely solo! The following are the two required items and you can also add more safety features to protect from losing your gear:

Basically mount the Pocket 3, use the DJI Mimo app with your phone, drag and select your car to activate active tracking, shoot amazing rollers! Cheers!

Great work I just did the same video but I screwed up the shutter speed so there's no motion blur lol. Lessons learned....doing it again this weekend.
And if you use ND filter + 24fps & 1/48 Shutter

any issues with wind at speed? looks nice just wish it was 35mm as its wide for rollers

Definitely safer! Yeah still kinda risky but I think it's worth it. Just lmk and we can shoot lol

@@CruisinCaptures Yup. With the old pockets, i had some that had good magnets and some that would just fall right off. So I would have to mess with the brands to handle the rolling shots. Luckily most of them are pretty good but I still haven't received mine in the mail so yeah...

No idea it just didn’t show up. When I had other cameras, jitters showed up. I think the way the pocket 3 was built along with the suction mount absorbing things.

How safe is the snap on the tripod mount? I know for the 3 the tripod screw mount isn’t there unless you plug in the smaller battery pack
Well so far I think it's great. No issues. I also bought the official DJI adapter that wraps around the Osmo Pocket 3 itself that has an "action camera" mount. That way, you can connect on two different points. I'll do a video about that this weekend. Wrapping back to your question, the DJI Action has these snap on mounts and I guess if it's good enough for a "gopro like" camera, then I guess it's good enough for the Pocket 3. I just wouldn't be doing a Mint 400 or Baja Style racing with this this on...
You also buy a tow hook and clamp it on to the hook with a GoPro attachment
I think I use to do something like that back in the day. Only problem is that you are "stuck" in that position only. I love the suction cup mount as you can pretty much put it anywhere that is a flat surface. I do recommend mounting it on clean glass though...

Is the wind from rolling cause the gimbal motor overheating? I am concerned about this issue.
Hmmm never had any issues but most of my shots are from the rear of the vehicle. Which has little to no wind. Shooting from the front, I’m not in that position too long. Nor am I on the fwy or anything. I would just not go past 40 of you want to be safe. But honestly I feel like it isn’t an issue.

@@Motormouth... Yes i've used the original back in the day and still have it. The tracking is on another level and will definitely help you. I just love how I don't need another person anymore to drive or shoot. Yeah maybe on a larger shoot but this does the job for me on most...

What’s that mount you used for the dji pocket 3?
Used a Neewer 6” camera suction mount. And I took another old mount to act as a tether with a shoe string. Just in case. Plus I can see the camera via my phone so if it falls or dangles, I’ll pull over and fix it. I added a link in the description
@@definitionxmk how was the weight balance with your method? Did screwing it in at the very bottom make it top-heavy, or did it work okay? or do you think something like the DJI expansion holder ($19) is a worth it?

Auto tracking. It’s incredible
something off, it looks grainy and over sharpened, and possibly shutter setting off as well. unless you have some weird settings on im wondering if its the builtin digital stabilization not suited for cars. action 2 works good

Yes I am waiting on them now. The DJI ones are sold out everywhere until December.
