2002 Toyota RAV4 L AWD Tour and Test Drive

The second gen. Rav4s were the best Rav4s as Toyota used a timing chain in the 2.0 engine and the front and rear door skins and font and rear wheel flares were ABS plastic (which helped tremendously on keeping down rusting). Aside from that the Rav4 had the same parts as the Corolla and Camry so parts were cheap and widely available (even in 2022). As well, the computer in these Rav4s is very basic and only used to control the engine and transmission. If anyone is in the market for a second generation Rav4, the vehicle's mileage can be ignored as these engines and drive-trains literally last forever. If the vehicle's overall condition is in good shape cosmetically then the Rav4's mechanicals will be also fine. My 2002 Rav4 is still going strong after 20 years..... and I have only had to do very minor repairs on my 2002 Rav4.
Both Toyota and Honda got smart after 2005 and started to make the Rav4s and Element less robust as the vehicles were overbuilt for the average consumer market and the second gen Rav4 and Element had the potential to last way past 15 years with basic to moderate vehicle maintenance.

I have this exact car, with a little over 41,000 miles on it
Super clean in and out
just has a couple dings no other damage
just cloth seats not leather
has been a great car I hate that I have to sell it but I can no longer drive due to MS
at least it’s staying in my family I’m selling it to my twin sister and brother-in-law
