The D-Pad on the grey has horizontal and vertical grips while the new one's have an arrow in each direction. I think that's different and wish you would have compared that difference.
I love my sn pro+ , its workimg great. But i dont see a reason to upgrade to pro2 or even this one. Here is one problem (or maybe not) when a product was so good, it makes little reason to upgrade their new model when changes were not too significant. I will continue using my older model with joy
I think you are correct to not upgrade. I brought a pro 2 for my PC and I have not actually used the software or back pedals. It's a great controller and I would always recommend it over the SN30 pro+ but not as an upgrade to it.
I made the jump from pro+ ...and there aint no going back to not having back peddles, i fully use the custom software for android, setting up profiles, mainly pressure on the sticks and trigger presses etc...and one thing that dont get mentioned enough is the actual grip on the back of the controller housing...game changer for sure...i dont know if i should double dip in order to future proof my controller needs, incase anything were to go wrong with my current pro2, or wait for a pro3!
Hello can I ask you a question about yuzu? I downloaded Pokémon legends arceus 3 days ago and completed it and now want to update it to newer version. I downloaded the update, clicked in yuzu on “file” and load N… but yuzu doesn’t see that file. It’s .nsp file (
In case if you (or anyone else) don't know, 8bitdo released in April an updated version with hall thumbsticks, but at least in Poland they're pretty hard to get because they are sold out everywhere.
I'm a really stingy person when it comes to controllers. The thing I care about the most, is the input delay. I really like the shape of this controller and kind of want to try it, but is the input delay better than the pro controller on switch?
I’ve had mine for about a week. I don’t see any noticeable difference from the pro controller in terms of input lag. The only thing I noticed was controller connection issues when using Bluetooth audio via AirPods (audio quality sucks anyways so just don’t use both at the same time)
I like it, but I think the bluetooth on this thing sucks. I mean, I have my Desktop tower under my desk and if I play having the controller ABOVE said desk, it disconnects lololol. It only works when I put the controller down : S (my other bluetooth devices work just fine)
Sadly it shouldn't be so strongly purple. The Atomic purple on N64 was quite a bit lighter. And the buttons should have colors / dpad should be black. That just looks better.
The one thing I really want is a proper wireless xbox version. I mainly use my 8bitdo controller on PC, so the ABXY layout doesn't match. Plus I'm not a fan of the snes styled Start/Select buttons. They DO have an Xbox styled controller with that ABXY layout and Start/Select buttons, but its wired only since Microsoft doesn't share their info on connected wirelessly to Xbox. But honestly I just need one for PC.
Wow both of them looks amazing. And the quality is one of the best, something that would last some years. When you are going to do an international giveaway hahahaha.
I have the original but it's drifting again after I've cleaned it twice because of previous drifting. Going for that gulikit Kong 2 with those awesome joysticks
I really enjoy the 8bitdo pro 2, except for the fact that the controller, for whatever reason, disconnects from my switch so much that it's unusable. I don't understand why or how to fix it
thumb grips is a must for 8bitdo, the rubber on their analog sticks are very soft and wear very fast, i replaced mine for the dualshock 4 ones (needed to scrape a bit of plastic from inside the little holes underneath)
On my pro+ the sticks rubber utterly broke off after a month of use, turns out the material used was not optimum, 8bitdo said themselves the issue was common and have indeed changed there stick recipe...the pro2 has been fine since launch for me, no issues.
@@seeker2657 i play a lot of rocket league (bought it for this game) and this game destroyed mine, but it took about 5 months, on normal usage it should last a lot longer
@@vdfritzz Sorry to hear that man, sometimes its a lottery with certain mass produced products...for those lucky enough to receive a well manufactured pro2, it truly is a superb controller.
I picked up the smokey grey version and it's pretty nice, but the center of the thumbsticks are way too smooth for my taste. Does anyone know what size or type of stick they are? I want to get some covers for them but can't find what size they are.
I like the regular pro 2 and all but is there a way I can swap the buttons for an xbox X Y A B layout since I mainly use it on xbox settings or stickers even?
I have a couple of 8bitdo controllers, the original 30th Anniversary version and the SN30 Pro. I thought about getting the Pro 2, but felt what I have is pretty good. However, maybe in the future there would be room for another.
Cool video Alan! I'll actually check out the controller since it really is nice! Regarding the stained fingers, you should try some diluent/paint thinner, that does the job most of the time!
Does the vibration motors in these controllers vibrate when playing PS2 games through Aether SX2 or PCSX2? I would love to experience the nostalgic DS2 haptic feedback when playing GOW2 or DMC3 if it does support it. Otherwise, my PS4 controller is working great!
I can confirm working vibration on most emulators used and its great, however when using the 8bitdo usb adapter the vibration would not work at all with some emulators and current games...im still waiting for a firmware fix, so i just use bluetooth connection right now.
@@seeker2657 hey thanks for the input. So if I'm using 8bitDO when playing PS2 games on Aether SX2 it does support rumble just like the Dual shock 2? If it works then I'm definitely buying it! 😃
@@sadatrashid7438 I have not ever used Aether SX2, i have tried PCSX2, and the rumble works great...what i will say is, for some reason the pro2s rumble is often very subtle on normal pc games, not all...even with the vibration cranked up in the software and in gaming menus...its never bad, emulators have been a true showcase from light to heavy rumbles imo. Don't overlook those thumb grips, they are the very comfortable and not easy to fall off, I'll be using them to avoid my niece and nephew digging their nails and chipping away the analog cap like they did for my brother's controller XD
Honestly, I love these controllers! I already have 3 (SN30 Pro+, not Pro2) and I'll probably pick both of these colours up as well! My ONLY wish is that they would come out with a variation that had offsetting control sticks! (Yes, I know the Xbox controller is fully compatible with PC). When playing retro titles using the Dpad is fantastic, but in modern games where the primary method for things like traversal is the control stick, I find it's just a little bit uncomfortable to reach over for the control stick. For this reason, I use the aforementioned Xbox controller for these types of games, but I would LOVE to use an 8bitDo Pro2, if it had a variation with offsetting control sticks.
8bitdo pro 2 is a great controller with great compatibility. Three things that bug me a little are the the sticks being slightly too close together, the material of the D-pad could be a little softer and the ergonomics of the controller when pressing the L and R buttons, my fingers sit naturally between the these buttons and the triggers and it's a bit of a stretch to press them.Solid buy though 8.5 out 10 👍
Thanks for sharing, yeah they are exactly the same, if you were waiting and love the colours cool, otherwise I'd take the opportunity to get one of the previous ones, I've got the black set and I swapped the buttons with a wired 8bitdo that had the same buttons as the grey controller, not a fan of buttons without legends (on them).
The price bump for these different colours isn't worth it to me; you spend 99% of the time holding them playing games, not staring at them. Having said that, I'd be tempted if the price goes down :)

The 8bit pro 2 makes playing Luigi's mansion 3 a dream with the two back paddles. The controller is so customizable. Only wish it worked on PS4.
you can with a wireless adapter, like the Mayflash Magic S Pro.
~$30 and you can use any modern controller on any recent system
I have the DMG coloured one, man that purple one is tempting though. Best D Pad on the market at the moment in my opinion
