Thanks worked first time. Also just double tap the sync button to return to xbox control, no need to re sync.

Is it an xbox controller? If you are talking about a Nintendo Switch pro controller it won't work

My Amazon fire tv picks up the Xbox wireless controller as an option to put but it will not pair! Pairing unsuccessful every time! Any idea what’s wrong?
My fire tv is doing the same thing. Shows up as a controller then selecting it shows... Pairing the controller.... Then I get pairing failed message.

Yes BUT it depends on which controller the regular or pro and you can use the 3.5mm headphone jack to do so .

Sorry, don't have one on hand.
It's not going to work the same. Xbox One controllers use Bluetooth, while the 360 used a WiFi connection, which is why it needs a dongle to be used with a PC.
Can't get this to work with a Series X controller, any ideas? Completely stuck.
