If this and nothing else seems to work natively, I used ES FILE EXPLORER. It’s an app on fire stick tv. Open the app, scroll down and click Network, then click Bluetooth. Put controller into pair, and hit Scan on the app. It should find Wireless Controller. After it finishes searching, click Wireless Controller and it should pair (even though there might be an error). Worked for me at least!
Isaac Medina if you go to my fire stick in settings they’ll be two similar looking options reset to factory settings (don’t click that) and restart. Restart will basically reboot/refresh your firestick (without losing all of your apps and stuff) usually for me it fixes many issues that my firestick runs into

Making it unusable for most games. The official Amazon controller doesn't even work on the Fire Stick 4K thanks to Amazon. It's not hardware related. It's specifically the programming on the Fire Stick 4K.
@@reginaldpenn7490 as of the latest update you can pair the newest PS4 controller with the lightbar visible on top, but you get varying intensities of horrible lag while trying to play games. I messaged Amazon and posted a review with pics and videos. They immediately contacted me trying to get me to change my review. The problem is with their programming. What's interesting is that the Fire Stick 4k has a button in the games section that takes you to the Amazon store to buy the official Amazon controller, but when you click on it, it won't let you buy it, and it states in the page that it doesn't work with the Fire Stick 4K. Amazon crippled their own device.

There must be a difference between older and new DS4 controllers, because I can indeed pair my DS4 controller to the my Fire Stick 4K, but it has major lag issues, which get worse over time. It is pretty much unusable even for clicking through the menu. I hope somebody can help me with that.

Well yeah, Sony is D-Input & X-box is X-Input.. you need mapping software or a controller EMU dongle on a device with actual USB ports to enjoy the glory that is the DS4 as I do on PC.
ETA could you please test N64oid if you can map the c buttons to the right stick on a controller, cause i've got no luck on my other android devices with this...
I'm still having issues with seeing roms on the firestick. I put the roms into a folder and then put the folder on the root of the sd and nothing showed up after I loaded up the snes core. After that I tried putting the folder into the android folder and I was able to see the folder but no roms, do I have to extract the rom files or can they be played from the zip? Also can you plz list the correct path for playing roms on the firestick?
Does anyone else have a distance issue when pairing their controller? If I am right up on the firestick the controller works fine. The moment I am like 5ft out or more it acts crazy or stops working

I have the normal PS4 dualshock controller (actually 3 of them) from the time when the PS4 came out. They do NOT work with my Fire Stick 4k. The method ETA describes is kinda fool proof so I do not see what I am doing wrong. It shows as a wireless controller and I can pair it successfully but then no buttons work.

Gil Cortes it works fine with Bluetooth controllers. I literally just got done setting up PS3 controllers on my 4K. Amazon made a video themselves detailing how to do it(PS3 requires the sixaxisis app and a pc to retrieve the address you have to enter) everything eta just did in this vid worked fine for my ps4 controllers. The last Amazon update expanded the amount of controllers it can automatically accept. They have to be Bluetooth though so even some Amazon branded controllers will not work with the 4K
I got a gamesir controller and it's been almost unplayable. Keeps disconnecting and when is working sometimes there is delay. So the Xbox should be the right choice? Any feedback?

DS4 V1 dosnt work with the FireTV. Only the DS4 V2 (Light in Touchbar, grey buttons) works with FireTV.

8bitdo controllers work fantastically, and you can pair them in dinput mode for the fire stick and keep xinput mode pairing with your pc or whatever.

I haven't tried it myself but there's an app called bluetooth auto connect that has been know to help with connection issues.

My issue with the PS4 controller is it mutes my audio, as the TV box thinks all sound should be coming out the 3.5mm Jack on the controller
