So I went to install windows and during the installation process I got a "no drivers detected" message. The SSD didn't show up on the menu.

@@hamzaalktiesh2126Grab a Silicon A60 or Teamgroup Mp33, which ever is cheaper at 1tb. Both are good cheap budget drives that work fine. Faster speeds dont really matter in games and only in production related tasks.
If you want to spend a little extra, the Intel 670p or Silicon a80 are faster and have dram which will make the drive last longer, have faster speeds, and better sustained speeds, but have no noticeable difference in gaming

not needed, but highly recommended
For modern games 512 gb isn’t really enough for a lot of people, my gaming laptop has 512 and I keep having to uninstall and reinstall games because I like playing larger games. Hell, the main reason I’m thinking about doing a build is so I can customize it as my needs change

12400 (non-f) + A750 is my favorite mid tier combo for gaming and editing. Drivers have come along nicely, plus AV1 encoding, and the option for hyper encode with the 12400's integrated graphics.

8:35 there is a better way to see if the CPU is lined up, ther is an arrow on the bottom left, which machtes the arrow on the mainbaord

I personally would save up a little bit more and get a Arc A770 with 16gb of vram, alternatively an rx6700 xt with 12gb vram for better longlivity. Will serve you better in the long run.
You can always sell the gpu then upgrade.

what air cooler would you recommend for a pc like this?
This is a very good build. For anyone looking to stream however, I would recommend checking out the rtx 2070 super as it is very similar performance to this 6650xt and also has an NVENC encoder for streaming and obviously the other perks of an Nvidia card.

There will be a +- 20% bottleneck with the 6700XT but I'd still recommend getting it for the extra performance and vram.

Great deal, very similar to my 1st pc build i did in December 2022 i went with a rx 6600 , wd black gaming m.2 and 2 crucial 1tb ssd cards. I definitely wish i went with the 6650xt though... at that time the cost more than today.
My projected 600 dollar build turned into 1100 when all said and done lol

Followed everything, with the exception of the graphics card--we used a GTX 780TI. We plugged in a monitor, turned it on, and it said the graphics card needed the PCI E cable, but we already connected it. There is a slot for another cable, 2x3, but there isn't one there. If anyone knows, let me know :). It's my 11y/o son's first build...I am helping him out.
I ended up with it being 1k but I did opt for a higher graphics card so I can play some vr titles and went with a different case that had more airflow But overall excited to build this

@Marcus Disse so far so good. Just played through dead island 2 at max and it hovered around 60 to 70fps. No over heating issues. Playing bf2042 right now and it's running good also

No it wouldn't hurt it, it would help incase you do upgrades down the line.

Nice video but you mention using the 12400f without integrated graphics but your video has a 12400 which does have integrated graphic.
It's probably what he had in hand, there's no performance difference between the two anyways

if you have a little bit more money to spend, say $900, I recently built a pc that is really good for that price. here are the parts:

@2:27 the 12400 does actually have integrated graphics, its the 12400(f) that doesn't. so quicksync is available on the one you picked

gpu: msi ventus 2x 3070 (used)

very decent frame rates on 1440p max/ultra settings 100++
if you dont mind spending 50-60 dollars more you could get a 13400 f instead which is what I gots and it does great

Hey everyone - When I was younger I was very much into PC's. Too young to build any of my own, but enjoyed digging through them and learning what does what. In high school, we were given MacBooks, and I have essentially only used Mac products since (about 13 years straight). Long story short, I want to get back into PC gaming, and would really enjoy building my own. I stumbled on this video, and know that I can easily manage everything I'm seeing.
My question - This fits the budget I have set aside almost perfectly. My gaming is pretty modest. Old School Runescape, and basically anything I stumble across on Steam that I find interesting. No streaming, no editing. Maybe some light school work. I'm getting the impressing that this build is sufficient for my needs, and that if I need to in the future I'll be able to make upgrades with ease. Can anyone confirm or deny? I have this entire build in my newegg cart, and want to pull the trigger. Thanks in advance!

You lose PCIe 4 support and your 6-cores aren't quite as powerful, but you're using a Gen 3 drive anyway.
You get lots more graphics power in exchange. This is a proper PS5 killer, while your configuration isn't.

Something to note with up to date divers the 6650xt davinci resolved will not work.
