I asked my R congressman after a town hall (when they were trying to do away with the ACA) "why is it more important to give tax cuts to the rich than to make sure people like me can afford health insurance? He SNEERED at me and said "life is cheap" and scurried away. The problem starts with them. And their identity is republican.

That CEO was worth 43 million that he’s not going to enjoy. Imagine working that hard to hurt people instead of helping people overcome health conditions or at least alleviate the pain caused by illnesses. I hope ppl focus on helping others and not on getting rich off of others. Thank you Vic for your videos. 🙏

Can bet that his focus was on increasing his net worth to $50 million and then $100 million and then to $500 million. Because that is what the corporate mindset does to people. It corrupts their minds even while they claim to be Christians. I’ve worked in enough different corporations around the country to know that is generally true.

Here's the truth, what Luigi did was absolutely wrong, but his sentiment is correct. What we have now, is that the obscenely wealthy own over 80% of all outstanding stocks. What they do, is put in the most sociopathic CEO's that they can find. These CEO's screw the workers to the max, and screw the customers to the max in the name of "Maximizing Shareholder Value". That gets the obscenely wealthy higher profit margins, higher stock prices, higher dividends, bigger stock buybacks. So in that sense, Luigi is spot on with who our enemies are. As Warren Buffett said in 2006, and it is much truer now: “There’s class warfare, all right, but it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning.”

  • @Anne805blue

I'm with you on this, Vic. Most of us decry political violence. But our institutions have failed us--Congress represents wealthy donors, the courts don't hold the rich and powerful accountable, and the corporate media main interest is in their profits, not factual reporting. Frustrated citizens have few options left. Better a nonviolent statement as you suggest than more drastic measures like Luigi's actions.

Vic, I was thinking this morning about your previous posts about taking action, taking action to plan for the future in 4 years.
First of all, we should hold this new administration accountable for all of the promises made for votes. We should follow those promises to success or failure
Next, we should assemble a list of goals that we want our elected leaders to lobby for us over the next four years and beyond. Items such as pro choice, minimum wage, lgbtq rights, fair tax for all incomes, a balanced budget, universal heath care, minimum wage requirements and common sense immigration.
For congress:prohibit stock trading, establish term limits, and election campaign fund reform
To accomplish any set of goals a list must be made and the items on that list must be reviewed over and over again so the country can stand behind a candidate who supports our list
As you stated, now is the time to start this journey
    . Establish term limits

Where have you been for the last several decades? I live in Minneapolis. The biggest worldwide riots ever occurred because of events this city saw.
Did police reform occur because of that?
      I'll wait...
Walking around the street isnt going to do it. The entire reason protests work, is the implication of what would occur to those in power, if they try to repress the majority.
Screaming "Bigger Cages! Longer Chains!" over and over at each other, has failed. As intended.
I suggest it is time we follow different template now.

Drinking brews with my geezer friends, some were saying that the problem is the government is involved too much in our healthcare system and needs to get out of it. Contrarian that I am I asked them if they like their Medicare. Everyone agreed that it made their retirement easier. When I pointed out that the administrative costs of Medicare were 3% and the same costs in private insurance companies averaged 22%, my question to them was how much of that 22% went into curing sickness and how much went into the yachts of CEOs of the health insurance companies? Murder is always wrong. As educated as Luigi is, he could have expended his brainpower helping the cause for Medicare for all. Tragedy all around.

Luigi is a hero. We've tried to have this conversation and have been ignored. Tools still are happy with health insurance companies robbing them. Luigi FORCED this conversation, which the powers that be are STILL IGNORING. GEE... think that they are profiting from the dysfunction? I know they are!
