coopers craft barrel reserve 29.99 in Ohio. my new daily drinker
$35 at Virginia ABC so it qualifies--it would be my #1 pick in this group. Wish this were available in CA; had to ask a friend to bring me a bottle from Ohio! Good blind as always, you two.

You can use that in place of OF 1910 to create a "Poor Mans" 1915. I love Coopers Craft.
Just wish it was more widely distributed. It hasn't made it into my state yet.
Haven’t seen it in Illinois yet but I had it recently down in Louisville and thought it was excellent especially for the price
Loved the episode. Can you believe I walked into my beverage store last week and they had Russel's 10 sitting on the Allocated table. They had 3 of them and told me if I wanted one, I better grab one. Did not sound right to me.

Russells 10year on sale at one of our local bottle shops for 22$ can't beat that....although commonly found around here between 25-30
Makers 46 is extremely underrated(imho)...I think people just like to hate on Makers for some reason....
That's a good price. It's $37.99 at Ohio retail. Buy a case now at that price.

Those all sound like good choices. I'm ashamed to say that my favorite of that batch is 1792. I'm not sure if any of those are findable in my area though. A year or more ago and I could find Russells Reserve and Elijah Craig but not anymore. I've never seen 1792 or JD Bonded on the shelves here, I've found 1792 in another state when visiting friends. I think Makers 46 might be the least hardest to find here although I don't recall when I last saw it in my nearby stores. Unfortunately I think that means I'm in a bourbon wasteland, stores dominated by bottom shelf bottles or expensive bottles that I've never heard of. And never heard of is really saying something because I watch a lot of videos.
I'd put Knob Creek 9 year Small Batch up there. That and Russell's Reserve 10 year are tops in that bunch.
Knob Creek 9 year is easily my new favorite daily drinker. Hoping to try the 12 year soon!
And it's readily available in the half gallon size. I try to keep a handle, then fill my pint bottle with that all the time to take places.
@brentworls8509 yep, I get it at Costco. Used to be $47 per 1.75 ltr, but two price increases in the past year puts at $57 now. Still good at that price even.

@brentworls8509 yes sir, I've got multiple 1.75s of the Knob bourbon and rye in stock. I like them better than a number of the fancy (expensive) craft stuff that I've bought.

There are so many great bourbons under $40! Since Buffalo Trace has changed distributors, I have seen it so much more in Northern Illinois in January and February. I have been able get 8 bottles of BT and 6 bottles of Weller Special Reserve in the last 6 weeks. So I would add them to delicious bourbons under $40, since they are more available. I also think Early Time BIB, OF 100, WT 101, Larceny, and Evan Williams Single Barrel could be on the list.
As an older guy now (48), the $35/fifth range is where I start, and where most of my day-to-day drinking bottles come from. Elijah Craig small is now my "usual" mixer since it is about the same price as Bulleit, but better, and a good bit cheaper than Woodford. I also really like 4R small at about the same price! Always love the vids that feature stuff you can find easily in VA!

Russell Reserve 10 year is a gem! Great on nose, pallete and smooth finish. To me it's Wild Turkey 101 without the holy cow at the end. Works for me. 😁
Elijah Craig is the only one of the 5 that I have tried and it's my one of my daily drinkers. (other bottle is OF 100)
Looks like I've got 4 more to try.
OF is a good one in this mix. It's on my buy list when I find it for a daily.

Love RR10... It's a go-to, but those are all in the game. I thought the 1792 might come out higher.
I wanted to like JD Bonded so bad, but it is difficult to drink neat, on the rocks, or even in a cocktail. I still have over half a bottle left and got it back in January.

Under $30. It's creeping up. Earlier this year, it was $22.99, now it's $29 where I've been able to get it.

So many other channels were saying 1792 small batch is the best at $30 but I was really disappointed with my bottle. Maybe that red fruit profile just isn't my preference in bourbon, because I'll take just about any decent bottle over it.
I say Russell’s #1, Elijah Craig #2 and the rest are not on my shelf anymore. Great job!

No surprise to me. Elijah Craig is incredible! That's why I chose it for my wedding day. It's a very traditional, but solid bourbon that never lets ya down

Good selections. Problem in PA is availability. The more I see posts from folks in other states, the more I realize how screwed we are with finding good moderate bottles. I have a Russells 10 but its tough to find. 1792 and Elijah Craig is usually available. 46 is rare and I have yet to see JD Bonded.
you cant find r10 in PA? I live in a tiny city of 6,000 people in PA (near Erie) and they have it. they also get bookers which is weird, even the employees at the store think it's weird.

You guys probably know that the FWGS site is like playing slots. Some times you win, most times you don’t. The bottle of R10 was found in a smaller store, not a Premium Collection store. Sometimes I think it’s actually better to be in a small town in PA. If a few bottles get to your store, chances are they will stick around.
Walked into a store today. It’s was delivery day. BT, R10 and JD Bonded all in stock. Would have had Eagle Rare had I gone in earlier. Completely hit or miss.
