I’m new to bourbon (started trying it about three months ago), I feel like Four Roses small batch is the one that got me hooked. I really like Four Roses, some of the best nose on bourbons; even their single barrels. I want to try a bottle of small batch select next but for the price I could almost get two bottles of regular small batch.
These are great staples in any collection. My personal fave is the Old Fo,. I would add the HH6 Green label, but I understand why it isn’t up there. Great lineup

Old grand dad 114 would be my favorite from these. Another great value under 30 is the new Costco Kirkland small batch by Bardstown 1792. 20 dollars for a 1 liter and its pretty good.
Old Forester 100 and Wild Turkey 101 are not allowed to run out here. Still have half a bottle of Elijah Small Batch, most of a Buffalo Trace, and I have an Evan W. BIB, but it seems to be bit too much nut for me most of the time. Old Granddad 114 and 1792 Small Batch will likely join the shelf by this fall.

When I was younger I always respected a bar that had the even cheaper ET in the rail, despite the fact it’s not really bourbon 😂 114 and 101 all day long. 1792 as well. I just missed the Westport full proof pick because I sat on it for a week 😢 The bourbon thing is crazy these days. Thanks for helping me understand what I’m up against

Evan Williams BIB, EC Small batch Store Pick., Sazerac, Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, Wild Turkey 101, high West Double Rye, Old Forester 100 are some of my picks for under 30
Buffalo Trace is my bourbon of choice, however lately it getting harder and harder to find and rhe price is over $40. with tax. I need to find a new favorite.
I have most of those in my collection, a couple ET BOBs because they're hard to find here in Illinois, Love my 1792 everything even the high proof VOBs always WT 101 ,JTS Brown getting some well deserved attention these days and I would have included a new player in the lineup MPGs Eighth and Sand, sadly what I thought was on the top of my under 30 list was Henry McKenna 10 year but that went to hell with the SF Spirits award a few years back and I don't mix with the exception of an occasional rye old fashioned or a mint Julip on the big day so all of these juices are fine just the way god intended. Rare Breed is my favorite but it’s 60 by me. Of these I love 114, it’s close to my favorite in many ways but half the price. Strongly recommend OF 100, WT101. In NJ hard to find Early Times, EW BIB, of Buffalo Trace. One store had BT for 55. I have a bottle I got for 35 and I think it’s below the ones recommended above. EW single barrel is appealing because I like EW 1783 but it’s not available in NJ this summer very easily. I definitely dislike Elijah Craig compared to others, something funky on the palate and taste for me that is less evident in Evan Williams. I have had 1792 in the past and recall liking it, looking to try full Proof.
I mostly skip the sub $30 bottles and buy Rare Breed as a “budget” shelfer. Not as cheap as these but I don’t mind paying the +$10-15 - probably my favorite all things considered bourbon

Nice list, guys. I have many of them. Can't find Early Times or OGD 114 in NY for awhile now. The OGD BiB is available tho and I prefer it much more than the WT101 w I find thin and harsh. Will chk out the EW Single Barrel. Never heard of the JTS but doesn't look widely available. (Totalwine shows only KY). And just an fyi, prices in Kentucky are much better than other parts of the country. Good stuff though, thx.

Love 4 Roses small batch too. It's very underrated IMO.
Elijah Craig small batch, especially some of the store picks, is great and Old Fo 100 is also an excellent pour!

Got me a bottle of J. T. S. Brown In Bardstown, Kentucky on January 27 for only $10.95! What a bargain!
My personal favorite is Heaven Hill Green Label 6 Year. Great bourbon and a bottle will usually run $10-15
Had a few from that list but for me 101 is my favorite. Great flavor and consistency! Early times is also great!
JB Double Oaked is great for the price. One of my go to neat pours.

Good line up. I think Evan Williams has some of the best bourbon for the money from the bottom shelf all the way up to the 23 yr.

I have a bottle of Evan Williams BiB, haven’t opened it. I tried their single barrel and wasn’t a fan.
With it being a SiB I wonder if it might be a bad barrel? Also next time you are out if you can EC BiB I would give it a shot!
