- Today I got a new PC and attempted to get the highest FPS physically possible in Minecraft. It got a little ridiculous.
"But Nullzee, if you power cycle the PC twice, overclock the cpu, disconnect your internet, change the power settings, attach a fan to the pc and turn on your bitcoin miner you can get 5% higher framerate, WHY DIDN'T YOU DO THAT????"

With Amd gpus (rx6000 mostly), you can actually reach 3000+ fps in the game bc they released an OpenGL update for the drivers last year, without sodium, it works pretty well with rx500 too
And if you go higher, the fps will be PHYSICALLY LIMITED by your cpu speed.

I own a RX 6700 XT and managed to get around 6000 FPS on the bedwars bridging practice on hypixel (I have an i5-13400, 10 cores, 32 GB DDR5 ram)
On my RX 7600 oc edition I got 1085fps on Minecraft medium settings and 200fps in war thunder movie settings
@@user-ek3yr4yh1gmy rx 6700 xt gets 1381 fps in Minecraft with 40 mods loaded on 6 chunks of render distance. It is OC tho
To explain why the low res texture pack lowered the FPS, minecraft is still in itself rendering it a 16 bits, it then uses the Xbit(s) image over the prerenderd 3D modle. Therefore the FPS wouldn't go up and its going down most likely because of the prosses of swapping images.
The reason it goes down with higher bit texture packs is because wilse the blocks geometry is being rendered in 16 bit, a HD photo is still gonna take some horse power to render.
Totally didn't get jebaited by that loading screen.

Sodium and most other modern performance enhancements work by adding checks to skip things that are expensive to render or lumping things like draw calls together, so they won't be as performant when rendering nothing at all but will be insanely better at playing the actual game

Wait till you realize it’s slightly considered normal for 5950x to run around 85° with water cooling and once you get into PBO or manual overclocking, maybe around 87 or even 88 also depends if you get a bad chip and room temp but then again, they are rated for 95° as long as there’s no thermal throttling you’re good

You can increase your fps by ANOTHER 200-500 by just going to Lunar Client and turning on lazy chunk loading and setting it to lowest, turning off shadows, and last but definitely not the least, Turn on Particle Changer mod and turn on "Hide Particles" for every particle.
So you can get 6000 fps with a good pc

by the way, minecraft by default only uses 2g of ram. You can change it in advanced options on the versions window. Adding more ram makes for example, running mods better

Thats what I was looking for! I recently bought my 7000hz monitor and I had to find a way to push my calculator to its maximum, my avg FPS after your video is around 5800-6500fps on my 12 digit calculator, I had to upgrade from my 8 digit because it was running with only 4000fps.

Optifine speeds up rendering, game logic and the light engine. Sodium's *renderer* is faster, but for those other two parts you should have Lithium and Starlight. You will definitely see better performance than Optifine with that combo!
Also java 16 helps too

On that really old version of Minecraft you were showing at 9:27 I was also getting over 4500 fps with a mid range pc with an Intel Core i3 10100f a gtx 1050ti and 16 gigabytes of ram.
This dude got a whole ass new computer for a block game, what an absolute chad. Love it.
He makes Minecraft mods and videos for a living so it's not unreasonable. If he didn't get a nice discount, I don't think it's a struggle with a $19K monthly income. Respectfully at least he doesn't charge people for his mod(s).

6:40 I remember this was before I understood how much the ryzen 9 5950x over heated lol
in 2023, optifine adeed something really nice for people like him, called "resolution settings". if you go on 12.2, and go to the "other" settings, you see the resolution customization. If you bump that down to "McDonalds resolution"(200x300) you get just a few more performance increases. On my 2008 pc, that cant even run the minecraft launcher without crashing 3-4 times, i managed to get 350 fps. Somehow. The fps was fluctuating from 30 to 350 (after i jumped in the void).
Lowering the resolution is another great way to increase the performance, I play on 640x480 resolution and runs 60+fps on my crappy 11 years old pc

if you want the cpu cooler , change the aio to 360 for lower temperature
For maximum single-core performance, use an Apple SoC like the M1 Pro or M1 Max. I get far better performance on my 14-inch 2021 MacBook Pro than I do on my relatively high-end gaming PC from a few years ago. This is because single-core efficiency is a lot better on M1 CPUs, and the most recent JDK version is likely more optimised on ARM. The only issue is that you can't overclock the SoC (why would you) or do other ridiculous things to it to increase the performance, which is kind of the thing with this video.
EDIT: I do have to note that the in-game FPS counter in Minecraft is definitely inaccurate on special hardware like the M1 CPUs by about 30-50%. But it does run very well, despite Minecraft claiming that its running much slower than it really is.
Idea: Get NASA to let you use one of their PC's and play Minecraft.
Their general PCs use RTX Cards
nasa may have the most powerfull pc's but they arent designed for gaming which means it will run shit on minecraft

i used to get 6-9 fps on 1.16(optifine) so i decided to change to 1.8 (optifine) which gave 16-20 fps then i minimized all the settings gave me 30-35 fps then i started using salwyrr now i have 89-95 fps on 1.8

its because your pc is loading a lot of blocks and players try playing on a lower populated server with less blocks at the hub
Yooooooooooo this video is really nice. In addition to the video's main goals, the attention to detail, script, editing, and audio balancing are VERY well done! I especially loved the end part where you show your true geek side by hinting at LTT. Because I know I'd do the exact same thing if I were given the chance.

yeah I have a whole folder of fabric qol / performance mods. with optifine I only get about 60-70fps and with those I get 300+
