That is my favorite Soundgarden song. The lyrics... the feel... Thayil's magic... the power of the second half compared to the first. This is a master class.
This was a great reaction! Fun thing for you is Chris has so many more beautiful melodies and interesting lyrics! Soundgarden is known for unique time signatures as well. Check out The Day I Tried to Live which is a companion song to this one. 😊❤
Yeah. They were a grunge band, one of the big 4, and the oldest of them. They predated Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and Nirvana (the other three). If I'm not mistaken, they always considered themselves just atl rock or alt metal, but grunge came to be their tag in the end. Heavy rifts, meaningfull, beautiful, clever lyrics, odd time signatures and weird tunings. And four amazing, wellrounded musicians and songwriters; best of them all, probably Chris himself. That's what they were. Fun fact 1: the audio is the actual audio from that recording season. Fun fact 2: this was, I think, like the fourth try of Chris to fit a melody on his lyrics. He finally made this one, thanks to the amazing talent of his mates. If you like this song so much, check Chris solo work, his first and his last albums especially. I think you may like them the same.
Not me. SG is the original, not PJ. I suggest you go down the SG catalog...you'll see there's no comparison. SG used alt tuning that makes them sound more distinguished then there contemporaries. Start with Screaming life /Fopp, then move to Ultramega OK, then go to Louder then Love album. You won't make the same comparison afterwards. Cheers...Soundgarden is DOPE!!!!!
AWESOME REACTION MY DEAR!! CHECK OUT SOUNDGARDEN'S SONG "OUTSHINED" IT'S INCREDIBLE!! I ♥️ GRUNGE!! SOUNDGARDEN, ALICE IN CHAINS AND NIRVANA AND MY FAVORITE BAND PEARL JAM!! RIP CHRIS CORNELL 😢 🙏 WE MISS AND LOVE HIM DEARLY. THERE'S IS ALOT OF PEARL JAM AND EDDIE VEDDER HATERS OUT THERE, IT'S REALLY SAD. 😊💓🔥🤘✌️ SORRY ABOUT THE ALL CAPS I CAN'T SEE VERY WELL SO I APOLOGIZE.
Another favorite of mine-much faster pace: Soundgarden - Rusty Cage th-cam.com/video/pBZs_Py-1_0/w-d-xo.html You will love this song by Chris: Audioslave - Like a Stone (Official Video) th-cam.com/video/7QU1nvuxaMA/w-d-xo.html 1.3 billion views
Well Matt Cameron joined Pearl Jam as their drummer in 1998, after the breakup of Soungarden in 1997. He was in Pearl Jam until 2010 when Soundgrden reunited. so you can say Temple of the Dog was Pearl Jam with Chris as the lead vocalist.
Soundgarden got their name from a piece of outdoor artwork in Seattle. Just a fun fact I've always loved. Another great reaction!
Thanks for the info!

Chris Cornell is an Icon of rock, one of the best voices ever and such good bands supporting him over his career!
Like a Stone from Audioslave is definitely worth checking out. Chris Cornell with Rage Against the Machine collaboration
