Both cameras are still relevant in 2019 if you forget about video. The X Pro 1 though produces unique stills that are outstanding in b&w. The X Pro 1 and the X100 are unique cameras. Thanks for the review I appreciate it!
Thanks for your feedback! I agree, both are fantastic cameras, and hard to beat at their current price point. I haven't got the chance to use the original X100, but it's definitely on my wish list.
@@Caracalaba That is re-framing for parallax. If you want to disable that you can in the menu but it does give you accurate framing for closer subjects.
I chose xt1 for photojournalism; for faster, quick, precise focusing using the Nikon lenses. Plan to add the xpro1 for the excellent black and white images they produce.
Mark, I struggle on deciding which one to get. My heart says the xpro1 my head the xt1. I would use it with MF vintage lenses, pairing it with the Nikkor glass I have on my Nikon FE. I don‘t care about MP, AF speed etc, it is for my own enjoyment, documenting life around me. I think the better EVF on the XT1 is the trigger fir me, makes MF with peaking much easier I think then on the XPro1. If they had the same evf I would get the Xpro in a hard beat. @@lizda7 Liz, I got the XPro1, shot a lot with it, paired with vintage glas, also the Fuji lenses. The 35/1.4 was great. Bit slow to focuss but great images. Liked that combo. I purchased the X-T1 because of the upgraded sensor. X-Trans II vs the x-Trans 1 on the X-Pro1. I had the original sensor on the X-E1. The X-T1 is like 18 months newer. I do like the rangefinder window but I have real rangefinder cameras so didn’t feel like I was losing a lot by going with the X-T1

They do different things and compliment each other very well, they both earn a place in my camera bag, and with with the 18/35/56 lens weigh next to nothing.

Barney, if you had to just have one. For documenting life around you, and pairing it with vintage glass, which would you keep? I have a hard time deciding. My heart says xpro1 my head xt1. My only concern with the xpro is the evf, regarding manuall focussing. I heard the evf is terrible. The xt has a much better evf apperantly and makes focussing much easier. What is your experience? Thanks for your help. Cheers from switzerland
Nice Video, thanks! The Best 1:1 Comparsion between these 2 Fujifilm Bodies. Just one Question - did you use the latest Firmware on both of them, before creating this Video? I do love them both, but for Zooms, and general work, i'd clearly say X-T1, for the Rangefinder Experience, and a 23mm F2 (or any other prime) i'd go for the X-Pro1. Into the End, i'd love to have them both. ;-) I'd like to mention, that the X-T1 records RAW into 14-bit, whileas into ES (Electronic Shutter) Mode, it goes down to 12-bit only. The X-Pro1 in contrast, records into 12-Bit RAW Mode always.
Yes, I did use the latest firmware update on both cameras. I also agree with your assessment, the X-T1 handles zooms much better, whereas the X-Pro1 is a joy to use with primes. I did not know that information about the 14-bit RAW shooting, thanks for sharing that, and thanks for watching!
@@GinoriYT Exactly, therefore, the X-Pro Series is being made for usage with small Primes, but not Zooms, usually...even my X-E1 was being sold with the XF 18-55/2.8-4 back into the heyday, the X-E Series are also best being used with Prime Lenses.
Which one do you recommend for someone that wants to start learning photography? I want to learn videography as well but heard these two models aren't very good at that so maybe a used xt2? Cheers.
Hey I want to pick one of these..XT1 Graphite or Xpro1. Both sealed box and sells for usd250 each. What would you recommend purely for sooc Jpegs. Thanks
If you’re only shooting jpegs then I would go for the X-T1 as it will give you the Classic Chrome film simulation. Still, you can’t go wrong with the X-Pro1 either.
Both cameras are great for photography, but I personally prefer the colors that come out of the X-Pro1. That being said, the X-T1 focuses more accurately and feels more responsive. Also, the X-T1 has the Classic Chrome film simulation, whereas the X-Pro1 only has the original 5 film simulations. In the end, both are great for photos. It is up to you to decide which features you value the most. Hope this helps!
Unfortunately, for fast subjects I would not recommend the X-Pro1. I mainly use my X-Pro1 for travel and street photography, which do not require fast autofocus. If you truly need fast autofocus then you might want to take a look at X-Trans III sensor cameras, and those will vary in price depending on which body you chose, but needless to say, those will be faster than the X-Pro1 and X-T1. I hope I was able to answer your question.
thank you very much for your reply. Im a canon shooter and as of now Im thinking about switching to fuji because of its great color and also the weight. Im using a canon 5d mark 3 for weddings and just bought myself a Fuji XE1 for travelling so I wont have to lug around the 5D.
Your welcome! I've only used the X-E1 once, but from what I can tell the performance is very similar to the X-Pro1. I would say that if you're used to the AF system on the 5D MKIII then you may find that the older X-Trans I/II sensor cameras are not up to the level of the 5Ds. X-Trans III/IV sensor cameras have made significant advancements in AF performance that is very similar, if not the same as with DSLR AF systems.
man thanks for the info. Was going to buy an XT1 this week 2nd hand, didn't know the AF cant still keep up with the 5Ds. Aside from the color the AF speed is important for my style of shooting. Glad I watched your video. More power to your chanel!
I have not used the X-T200, so I couldn’t say. But the X-T1 is still a great camera, and still very capable. That said, an X-T2 or an X-T20 will give you the best price to performance ratio as of 2021.
I see so many folks having these red and black plastic things on their cameras however I don't know how they are called and what they are for. Can you tell me?
Truly nice and authentic comparison. To me both cameras have their own character, incl the X-E1, beside the fantastic pictures they give to me. The "1" series of FujiFilm is simply great, nothing else needed - to me. Thanks.
It all depends on what you're going to photograph. A good all-purpose lens would be the 18-55mm f/2.8-4 if you're looking for versatility, and on a budget. It's not the brightest lens, and it isn't the sharpest either, but for the price is hard to beat. If you're looking to get a prime then take a look at the newer 23mm f/2 or 35mm f/2 for some versatile, and inexpensive primes. If I could only have one lens, and money was no object then I would go with the 23mm f/1.4. It's a fantastic lens, and also very versatile for many shooting scenarios.
The X-Pro1 usually sells for around $300, and the 18-55mm also goes for around $300 used, so you definitely got a great deal for that combo. Hope you enjoy it!
I plan on doing a more in-depth comparison between X-Trans I/II/III/IV soon. I will look at the raw images side by side in different scenarios, so check back in a few weeks.
Yeah, all camera prices went up during the pandemic, and they haven’t gone down again. Honestly, you can get the 2s which have better features, and give you the same shooting experience at a similar price, so it’s a tougher sell now. The fun in using cheaper cameras is a thing of the past now.
