    Older fujifilm cameras are great options for photographs looking to experience the fujifilm system at a much more affordable price point. Today I go over the fuji film cameras I have used in the past and share my experience with each. The cameras mentioned in the video are now a couple years old but still perform well in todays standards!

    I once walked in to a pawn shop. Saw an x100t on the shelf. Immediately fell in love with the form factor. I turned it on and it still had pictures of a young couple. My word, those pictures!! It was just normal things like she was washing dishes. Out in the road, but the look of those pictures immediately led me to buy the thing right then and there. People would always ask me about it. They always thought it was an old film camera. Unfortunately I sold it to fund other camera purchases. I also loved the Fuji look but I wanted more lens variety. So I picked up the x-t1. With adapters for my old Minolta and Nikon glass, and also a Fuji 18 f2. And it’s almost. Almost like going back to my beloved x100t. I miss that old friend, but the xt1 is holding its own quite nicely.

    Nice review. I have an X- Pro 2 and use it professionally all the time for all kinds of stuff. I also use an X-T3 for when I need faster AF and tilting screen but the X-Pro 2 is the one I "love" as opposed to "I need". It´s an excellent pro camera that can be had very cheap these days.

    I’ve owned and/or reviewed nearly every Fuji X camera ever made and the X-T1 and X70 are my favourites. Shout out to the X-A1 as well. Super affordable and an amazing starter camera. My X-T30 only gets pulled out for client work.

    Had an XPRO-2 but sold it when I was moving country. Heartbreaking. What a camera!
    Have the XT30 now and it’s suuuuper underrated. I used to shoot with a Canon EOS R and honestly, fuji just makes me happier to shoot with.

    I have the Xpro2 and quite honestly it still a major contending especially those who are itching for a digital, modern rangefinder camera.

    I loved my X100S as well! I wanted another Fuji body that was able to swap out lenses so I could choose different focal lengths, so I bought an X-E3. Then after shooting that for a few months I decided I wanted to flex and get the latest and greatest (at the time), so I sold off the X100S and the X-E3 for the XPro-2! Needless to say, I will keep this camera forever. But after shooting the XPro-2 for almost a year, I craved the look that was more film-like (something that the bayer sensor from the X100S gave me), so I saved up once again and bought the XPro-1 as a secondary body and more for personal type of photos! Now I have the best of both worlds.

    Fuji fan here
    I love my x100s. I've had x100, x100s, and an x100V. I think the best Valued x100 is the x100s. if you don't need the fastest focus and want a vintage look to your images, You can't go Wrong with it!

    For me the XT1 was the way to go. It has the better AF than the cameras mentioned, great EVF, tilt screen, and is a bargain on the used market. Also since it has the battery grip option you can double your battery life.
    An alternative to the X100s is the X30 (not XT30). Has a way smaller sensor but for daylight shooting is very versatile with a 28-112mm zoom and a f2-2.8 lens. Has an EVF and tilt screen.

    I use an X-E2 and love it for how compact and easy to carry it is. I also use an X-H1 and I bought this camera specifically for the stabilized sensor, which provides all my adapted vintage lenses 2-3 stops of image stabilization. The X-H1 is also my sports photography rig, with battery grip. I love the Fuji X cameras.

      I’ve been really tempted by the xe-2 they had it brand new for $600 Canadian but I have no idea if it’s worth it or how good the camera is.

      @@Schoolofshots1 You can find used copies on Ebay for around $300. And you can get cheap adapters for nearly any vintage lens. Or you can find used Fuji X lenses, like XC 35mm f/2 for about $170.

    Have a xt20 and I absolutely love it. Honestly amazed by the fact that it even kept up in todays requirements for video shooting as it shoots true 4k ~~. The dynamic range, color, resolution, speed and ergonomics made me really happy and it felt very intuitive to use. Recently got hold of an xpro2 from a friend and just felt in my hands the buildquality I have been missing out on. The damn thing is built like a freaking tank and specs are totally up for pro shooting. It left the itch of wanting either the xpro2 or even an XT2? The optical viewfinder is just magic and it might even be charming enough to pull me to the rangefinder side even though I am very used to the features and ergonomics of the xt line.

    Had an X-e3, wanted to try xpro1. I really liked it be with the xe3 I knew what I was missing. Broke my heart selling both to fund an xpro2 but no regrets, I absolutely adore this camera. I shoot a lot of film (mainly Leica m2 and IIIf) and the xpro2 is the perfect digital alternative, the vibe feels very similar

    I had pretty much all the Fuji cameras from X family up until the X-T3 and X100F. had a lot of fun with them but always found my X-T1 to be the best out of them with that sensor and the size etc taken into consideration too. had most lenses as well and found i got back to 16mm, the 35mm and the 56mm lenses as my core and most liked Fuji lenses( 90mm being in that family too). fast forward and along the ride owning Leicas and always had Nikon system on the side too, i wanted to start adapting takumar lenses and other M42 and searched the market and internet for the best fit to get into that world the best and most affordable way possible.
    I landed on the X-T1 again and was very happy when i found a mint body and started adapting lenses, and had SO much fun. remember why i liked the X-T1 as much as i did. Its of course AS good as before, and always will be if you dont get fooled by all the bells and whistles of the newer bodies and marketing with stuff you basically dont need to create great images, those are just more "crutches" to disable your own skills and try to do everything for you :)
    The only Fuji lens i got myself this time around happened to be the 23mm F2 as well hehe. Had the exact same plan, to have a weather sealed family lens to take everywhere with me and perfect size too :)

    Used Fujifilm cameras are such a hot value. Within this past year, I paid $170 for a silver X-E1 and $175 for a X-T10. I paired the 50-140mm f2.8 with the X-T10 to shoot youth hockey. Solid buys for sure.

    Being long time nikon ff dslr shooter i`ve kinda lost enthusiasm in photography, just took my camera twice a year to shoot some motorsport or oldtimers meetings and thats all. But bought x100 original "just for fun" during pandemic lockouts and found myself more attracted to street photography and cityscapes, bringing my camera with me almost everyday. Now changed it to xpro2 with 23f2 and 35f1.4 and happy to say, that my interest in photography returned back to me. Dont know how fuji did it ^)
    ps. wonderful colors with portra400 filmsim, would be great to see, how you made it )

    I just want to say something about the X-Pro system : the prices are way up compared to the other fujis. The cult following of those cameras are creeping the prices up and that's kind of annoying.
    Typically, if you'd want to buy an X-T1, it'd be cheaper than an X-Pro 1... despite being 2 years younger, having way better AF, controls, a tilt screen yada yada yada.
    Same goes for the X-T2 compared to the X-Pro 2 : both use the same sensor and processor, take the same lenses and batteries, but the X-T2 ditches the OVF for a larger and better EVF, adds a tilt screen with 2 axis, has nice video specs with HDMI outputs, have access to a battery grip option and keeps all the other things from the X-Pro 2 : weather sealing, dual card slots, AF joystick etc.
    You could think that the X-T2 for being the same thing but better, would be more expensive than the X-Pro 2. Nah forget it, the X-Pro 2 is at least 50% more expensive than the X-T2. So unless you RELLY want that OVF, I'd really stay away from the X-Pro line if you're starting out. If you absolutely need a rangefinder style camera, you can still pick one of the X-E cameras (X-E1 is equivalent to the X-Pro 1, X-E2 equivalent to X-T1 and X-E3 equivalent to X-T2/X-Pro2), or if you want a camera being able to get some pro work done, well the X-T2 is by far the best value.

    • @footballmans2124
      @footballmans2124 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. Was looking for an xpro2 but was shocked by the prices. Got an xt2 for half the price, which has been a sensational value with all the same features besides ovf. The extra large evf is a blessing for me with manual focusing practice. I’m pretty sure xpro2 prices have even gone up since then 😳

    • @paullin4393
      @paullin4393 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      think of it other way, it means the camera keeping its value better than XTs ... when you sell it the price won't drop as much.

    I loved my x100s, it’s what sparked my
    Love for Fuji, I used a canon 5D mark ii at the time and it collected dust!! i ended up selling my L series glass and canon portrait lenses and picked up a XT-1 and a 35mm F2 WR, unfortunately I absolutely HATED the XT-1 and was kinda nervous about getting rid of my canon gear, I ended up selling a Mamiya RB67 and x100s and picked up a Xpro2, I kept my 35mm f2 and paired it with my fruit xpro2…I loved it, it was such a fun camera, but unfortunately I HATED the EVF at the time, and the OVF was “good” but wasn’t good for use EVERY single time I wanted to shoot…so I was actually able to trade it for a X-T3, used that, then a X-H1 and fell in love with the EVFs from Fuji, finally got another Xpro2 and I can finally use it to its full potential…it will be my camera till it dies…and then probably will pick up another one 😆 I can’t justify picking up the Xpro3 cause the design is TERRIBLE…I get the fact behind it but the Xpro2 clicked all the boxes for me…cameras from 2014 till now still produce amazing images..even my Canon 5D classic I had produced some of my favourite images…sensors and processors are subject to good images..it’s how comfortable you are with your camera and how you use it! The xpro2 might not be good for you or George in Kansas, but for me its the perfect camera!

    1:53 also you can print beyond what the resolution is (or starts to show). It's no different than analog photography: If you print too large you're going to see the grain. But most photo shows the prints are pretty modest anyway. Like 12x18 is pretty average. But you could go much bigger especially if you're not right up examining every pixel. There's no rules to it. Back in the day, seeing the grain was a big no no. Now people who shoot analog are often going for a lot of grain. Would actually be pretty fun to get a 4 megapixel camera and make a big print out of it.
