I had a robotic laparoscopic total hysterectomy for cervical dysplasia two and a half weeks ago. I was hiking daily 5 miles in a canyon for several months prior to surgery. This has helped my recovery tremendously. I walked immediately after surgery and continued to increase my steps daily. After two weeks of daily walking 10,000+ steps, with my doctor's approval, I returned to hiking in the canyon (uphill and downhill). I feel terrific and almost as good as pre-op.
I had a complete hysterectomy 4 days ago. So far I have been able to control the pain with ibuprofen and Tylenol. My recovery is going well, hopefully I will start feeling better as the days go by. It’s important to be prepared ahead and be positive.
@ I hope your surgery goes well, I suggest to go on a liquid diet 2 days prior, have the miralax ready, it will be very helpful. Sending you love and hugs. Enjoy your Thanksgiving weekend and stay positive. God bless you. 🙏🏻
Thankyou for this informative video. Prayers for me. I am having a full hysterectomy except keeping my ovaries. Only a day stay. Scariest part I live alone. My son will stay a night or two so hopefully I will have a quick recovery. My pre Op preperation is to be as healthy as possible. Clean diet and lots of food preparation so I dont have to worry. Drinking lots of fluid and staying positive🙏🏻❤️✝️
Hi! I just had mine ( same as yours) on 9/25 and I live alone too. I had my friend stayed with me for the first two nights, the rest of the time I am by myself, and my friends took turn and come visit on a daily basis. one thing that's very important for us since we live alone- Make sure you have everything you need on the counter top or area you can easily reach, the cup, the smallest and lightest pot you will be using to cook, the foods, the cooking ingredient etc. Also get a case of water in small bottle, you will want to have enough water after the surgery and they cant be too heavy. I also cooked a big pot of chicken soup and some porridge so I some food to get back for the first couple days. make sure you have a lot of salad kits and fruits in the fridge, extra fiber is very helpful. I also stocked two cases of eggs. Since I live alone, I have to force myself to walk around to get to the food, the water etc, the WALK REALLY HELPS you to heal faster. no bath is allowed after the surgery, when you take shower just be careful and let the water go through your body like what the video said. Fatigue is the biggest thing I am still trying to recover from, as soon as I crash, I will rest, but the rest of the time I try to get back to my normal life, as much as my body allows. I am in my 4 weeks, I can already walk around the block for 50 min, I work from home full time, I do modified house work ( avoid lifting anything heavy). Relax and be positive, you will be ok.
Had my robotic surgery 3 days ago, and the worse pain so far had been the shoulder pain. Luckily I was prepared for it. But other than that, I've only been taking Tylenol and Motrin and doing pretty well so far
2:30 pm I wish someone had told me how long bloating can last. I followed all the suggestions mentioned in video but suffered for over 3 months. Time finally made it better. I was distended and in discomfort for that whole time. Don't despair...it does go away. Everyone is different. I am 68 so maybe my age played a factor.
After a year I am still in pain every single day I was never informed I was going to develop a prolapsed bladder, I was left with adeshions which add to the pain. I am a 48 year old and feel like ann70 or 80 in constant pain around my pelvic area, my legs are weak , I have contacted my local GP he could not do anything I contacted my consultant asked her why I never had my follow up her secretary said at that moment she was busy, I said but is there another consultant should have the time to see me and check me her answer was there is other people in emergency situation it means I am not important to them. HELP ME PLEASE WHAT CAN I DO

Glad it was helpful!
If you feel sick to your stomach after taking the pain medication I hear that ginger is helpful…
Absolutely, ginger can also help with nausea.
