Why are Finns happier than Swedes? In terms of society, we are quite similar countries, so there is no big difference. So as a Finn, I answer that wars and history are the reason and the distinguishing factor. Because of the past, Finns are less satisfied and value more the basic things in life, such as independence, freedom and life in general.
Thanks for sharing such a deep and meaningful insight! 😊 It’s incredible how history can shape a nation’s outlook. The way Finns value independence and freedom as a result of past struggles is truly inspiring. This definitely highlights a unique aspect of Finnish happiness! 🇫🇮❤️ We all should learn from history to build a better future-it’s such an important reminder.
@@TheEliplanet Thanks. ❤️ Time will tell if this will change in the future as time passes. If we are honest, Finland has always had to fight for its independence. We have always been our own people, with our own language and culture. But still, Finland has only been independent for more than 100 years. It's a short time in history. So from a historical point of view it is still fresh in our memory. Will it still be like that 100 years from now? I hope so, because the sacrifices have been hard for the grandparents. And history tends to repeat itself if it is forgotten.
@@Pataassa The sacrifices of earlier generations are a powerful reminder of the resilience and strength of the Finnish people. I truly hope these lessons and values remain alive for well over 100 years-and ideally forever-as long as people continue to learn and read about history. And you're absolutely right-remembering history is crucial to ensuring its mistakes aren’t repeated. 🙏 Thank you so much for sharing!
That’s an interesting point! 😊 How would you say the countryside life is different from life in Helsinki-more relaxed, or in a good or bad way? I'd love to hear your perspective on it!
Few cities can compete with Stockholm in terms of cuisine. But it's not cheap anymore either. But these prices require a big wallet. Ok, he probably visited the least affordable places but still.
That's true, reindeer meat is lean, which can make it a bit dry, just like Alaskan caribou! It’s got that unique flavor though. Have you tried it in a stew or with sauce? That can help keep it moist! 😊
@@TheEliplanet The plate you ordered was, btw, very strange... Usually, we eat sautéed raindeer with mashed potatoes and lingonberries, and with a lot of meat juice. Much better and juicier than what you got! And the prices at Market Square seem to be really high.
Thanks for the feedback! 😊 I wasn’t quite sure how the authentic Karelian pie should look, so I just went with what I saw in the Old Market and what Finnish people recommended for me. Can you share how the traditional one is supposed to look? I’d love to learn more!
Yes, it did, but there is something wrong with the ones you buy. It is an extremely long process to cook them and I think they take shortcuts. Then it is a fresh product. They should preferably come straight from the oven.

If you want dive deeper you have to go to the countryside. The life in Helsinki is very different from the countrylife.

Why is Finland happier than any other countries?
Surprise surprise, reindeer meat has no fat, so it's dry, like Alaskan caribou.
Taste only the taste of pure natural meat. No artificial ingredients at all.
