Fixed the ice maker in about 30 minutes...thanks so much! When I needed the 10mm socket wrench the guy at the hardware store said, don't tell me - a Samsung refrigerator fix?! Oh boy...! Nothing like the feeling completing a fix with the help of wonderful people who share their tips. Thank you!
Thanks for the great instructions; I just did the install. One recent development to note - must've been after this video was made - the icemaker fill tube assembly is not shipped with the flexible rubber thing on the end anymore. You need to save your old one and put it on.
I have the same model of Refrigerator and this video helped tremendously. I saved a ton of money just replacing the Ice Maker Fill Tube. I will say though, it sure did not want to be removed, that was a little troublesome, especially when I pulled the plastic elbow off from behind the frig. I then removed the rubber spout inside the freezer, took a small hammer and lightly tapped until the tube finally broke lose. Oh, before all that, I had to take a blow dryer and try to remove the ice buildup. Running the Frig in defrost was not enough to get rid of the ice around the fill tube. But once the tuber was removed, everything else was easy.
About to go through this myself and am so grateful this video exists. Also grateful for your comment - If I ran into the same problem,that would be my resolution as well. You always feel better knowing someone else already succeeded, haha
Greatest video ever. I replaced both the fill tube assembly and the ice maker. Now I have ice again!! Question- how do I prevent the fill tube assembly from freezing over again?
I just did this, the foam was frozen which made it difficult to remove, I would assume for the foam to get wet and freeze there has to be a leak near the top, I hope I do not have same issue, it was leaking small amount on to floor.
NO where in the manual that i could see that says the light has to be out to make ice.. i even called support and they never mentioned that.. if this works now i owe you big time.. thank you..
@appliancepartspros I bought one online and the rubber piece that fits at the end of the fill tube didn't come with it. The rubber piece that's right over the icemaker when installed.
So I took out the fuel tube , defrost it , the ice came out and worked again , but freezes again ?? Any idea why ?? I also changed the freezer temp from 0 to 5 and still freezes
Bought a house with this fridge already here. Trying to find the filter - red light was on. Turned the red light off, called Samsung and was told this model doesn't even have a filter. WAT? I'm done with Samsung.
Well, I'm sorry you got bad customer service. The water filter that comes with this fridge - assuming its model RF260BEAESR - is in the refrigerator part, near the bottom - not in the freezer. It is just above the full-width pull-out drawer, and in between the two half-width pull-out drawers. Hope this is clear.
Because they want guys like us to either have a grossly overpaid repairman to come to your house or bring it in where it sits for a few days again costing us a great deal of money!! Okay

Pretty sure the tube has a heater in it that probably fails then freezes when that happens

If the water tube is freezing up then you will need to replace the water valve.
That tube it’s in charge of supplying and shoting Dow the water ?
The fill tube is what takes the water to the icemaker. What is going on with your fridge? What is your model number?
I have ice maker but look like I need to wire back in to sink to connect ?
What do you mean wire back into the sink to connect? You shouldn't have to do that.
i press the reset ice machine button, everything moves perfect but there is no water getting into the machine could this be the issue ?
Are you sure the water is getting to the icemaker? If not you could have a defective water valve.

What do you mean by the assembly pipe? Are you referring to the water line or the piece that is attached to the ice maker fill tube?
My fill tube didn't come with the rubber end piece. Can I rob the old fill tube for the rubber piece? Is it removable?
What rubber piece are you referring to? The new fill tube should have came with everything that you need.

You can try and see if the rubber piece you are needing can come out and you can use it if it does.
@appliancepartspros that's what I was thinking. Reuse old rubber piece. Hopefully it wasn't glued from the factory

curious about this too. i have had to defrost the water line with a blow dryer every few months for a while now
It's frozen again because the heating element that warm up the filling tube is bad.
