This video was so helpful. I was completely scammed by a repair man referred by Samsung, and decided to just do it myself, My model was slightly different, but the information here was a lifesaver. 5 minutes, 5 screws and 2 plugs later, I am up and running. Thank you so much.

Thanks again for offering this most excellent TH-cam channel for home appliance repairs.
Great and helpful. I am not a great DIY with appliances, but this video was almost perfect. What you did not mention, and I picked up from Amazon reviews when buying the part, was that the two screws that attach the base plate to the original ice maker, are too big for attaching to the replacement part. Somebody made a design error on the aftermarket part design. My solution was cheap and easy. At Lowe’s, I bought a small pack of #4-40x1/2 inch machine screws and nuts. These work fine, but are longer than the original screws, so just screwing two nuts on to the machine screw will increase the size of the screw head and shorten and allow you to tighten thescrew I have had ice for 24 hours, so we’ll see how long the part lasts.
This video was GREAT and I love his accent ...:) I completely changed out this component and my fridge is making the right sounds so hoping I have ice again by tomorrow. I'm a 73 year old "girl" and if I can do this ANYBODY can !
We used this video and site to order a new ice maker and install it on our Samsung refrigerator . It was very helpful. I could not believe but it is impossible to find a repairman for Samsung appliances. So, this video was “ Priceless. “ We just did it, so hopefully we will have ice again soon.
Thank you! Ice make Auger has just gone on mine so ordered a new assembly and was worried about the install until I saw this video. Now I'm confident I have the ability to replace it without any issues.
At the start of the video, the base plate that he unscrews from the bottom of the maker and then puts onto the new one is really important to transfer over. It is a "heat shield." If you don't put it onto your new one, then your new one will not work consistently. I have only just learned this after dealing with ice maker issues for a year after installing a replacement assembly. (I had watched a different installation video that didn't include that information so I threw the heat shield out!!!) If you managed to do what I did, the replacement base plate/heat shield cover part for this 12 pin assembly is called DA63-04355A Refrigerator Ice Maker Heater Cover.
I just finally installed the ice maker I got from you guys. Other than it really took a good yank and push to get the big mount off the door. It was fairly easy. Thank you for the video, had my iPad by my side in the kitchen. Now it’s plugged in and chilling back down. I’ll edit when it starts dumping ice. Joe Edit: It is making ice. Yay! Took a while for it to settle down, but it’s dumping ice. Now let’s see how long this lasts. I’m not confident but we shall see. I will never buy a Samsung appliance again. @@appliancepartspros other than it’s really slow. It’s working better than the original part. I expected more ice from overnight. Still very little. Like two row dumps. Make sure the temperature is between 0 and 5 degrees for the unit to make ice properly. It can take up to 24 hrs after install for the unit to get back down to the proper temperatures to make ice properly. If it has been that long and the temperature is good, make sure the ice maker is filling back up with water after the last cycle. Great video. Do you have a video showing how to replace the auger motor? My ice maker is working, but the auger motor seems to have failed and no ice comes out from holding bucket. Please help!
Does the ice maker somehow send a signal out to ask for water from the water inlet valve? I'm still not getting any water in ice tray, I've already replaced the water inlet valve. No blockages anywhere.
Excellent video. Original screws to the old heat shield were too big as others commented. Screws for a bassoon fit 😂. Never know when you need a bassoon repair kit
Thanks Simon, precise details needed for replacing ice maker. I’m now getting error 26 though still getting water dispensed, what should I do next? Thank you for your assistance.
Excellent walk through. Only issue I had was the screws to the old heat shield did not fit the replacement. This is the second we’ve had to install, otherwise the Samsung has been splendid. And we did not buy it through this website, though it looks identical. In reviewing the old one I see I butchered it in there last time, enlarging the thread into the body of the ice maker. I think it may be that the original was a different diameter (0.7 not 0.5) but a 0.5x10mm socket cap screw, with a washer, fit well. I guess 8 mm length might work but the head of the socket cap is a bit small so the washer was doubly helpful.

when i press the test button for more than three seconds water is not released to the freezing chamber. is the valve to open the water line part of the ice maker assembly or is it connected to another part of the refrigerator?
Yeah, I figured it out, and it makes very little sense. The icemaker 'comes and goes', sometimes at long intervals, like a month or more. Right now, it's working fine. The strategy I've learned is to take a table knife and make sure the 'lever' is 'up' and free of any ice. I know that's not helpful but it's working for me right now. Weird. Idiosyncratic. But it's working right now. And was cheap! I don't expect this solution to hold up, if past is prologue.
@@appliancepartspros RS267TDRS, it just stops making ice from time to time for days on end. If the ice is full.... then I drain the ice for a large container, it may or may not restart making ice without having to reset the ice maker.
My ice dispenser jams due to a slight over pouring of water. I cannot find a calibration or adjustment procedure for this very same ice maker. Any ideas?
I removed both the ice maker and the hopper and sat them out to allow any ice that was potentially preventing something from moving freely to melt and dry. When I reassembled the unit, the white fingers proceeded to turn as expected. I closed the door and a moment later I heard the water dispense into the ice maker. After that I heard a chime from the control panel. It never pushed the ice out into the hopper and the ice froze solid in the ice maker. Am I to assume something is stripped or broken and it’s time to replace that component?
