Thanks for the best, most detailed and helpful appliance videos I have ever seen! None of this was hard, but you did a perfect job of eliminating the unknown in the disassembly process, which is how you keep from breaking plastic parts.
Thorough and informative video on replacing this do-it-youself item. Once I got to your website, I discovered I could just buy the assembled item instead of replacing the heater for only $20 more. Thanks again for your insight, it gave me the confidence to replace this item myself instead of paying someone else $300. ///Ted Alvarez
I want to thank you for making this outstanding video on replacing the Samsung icemaker fill tube heater. Watched your video (I had figured out what part was not working by running diagnostics in the Samsung manual), then ordered the part through your company. Your staff was professional and helped me get the exact part required. I am a rookie at this stuff, but with the clear, step-by-step instructions you provided, I was able to complete the repair in less than 20 minutes. I know have more ice than I know what to do with. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!
Great video. I just changed mine out thanks to Appliance parts pros, took me 15 mins, had to hammer out the old pipe as it was frozen, but it came out with some pulling on the back side. New one went right in. Thank you appliance parts pros! im glad i used you guys!
Thanks for this it was very helpful. I have a slightly different model and I was able to do it without completely removing the drawer but that would have made it easier, especially getting the screws back in when reassembling the ice maker. I also bought the entire assembly with the heater already attached, I think it's worth the extra money to not have to spend all of the time changing out the heater. Mine didn't have screws in the back to hold the filler assembly in, I guess they changed the design a little. I also had to pull very hard to get the old one out as the end of it had started to unwrap and had trouble coming through the hole. I hope all of this helps someone!
Excellent video. My ice maker fill tube was filled with ice and the insulation was frozen to the tube housing. I used a hair dryer to thaw it out. After that I was able to remove the ice maker tube and heater assembly
I also bought the whole unit, heater fill tube with insulation for my 2013 fridge. This was second failure of the heater in 9 years. Last time it took three different appliance companies before I got correct diagnosis. I did not pay the first two. After the first two failures, I was looking for info to do it myself and found out I had an extended warranty with there months left. A warranty appliance company came out to check out the problem. They diagnosed problem as bad heater using info on the wiring diagram, ordered the part and did the repair Going forward 4 years. The ice stopped making ice and I tested the ice maker mechanism and it was working. It appeared the unit was trying to fill the ice tray as I would hear the fill valve operate but the ice tray was still empty. Took the fill tube unit out and the fill tube was frozen. When I took the fill tube out there was no insulation on the heater part except for what looked like about an inch of tape and foam wrapped around the heater at the outside end. I know there are many variations of these fill tubes, but that didn't seem correct. So the main reason for me to order the whole unit was get get the insulation. I expect the heater burnt out because it had to work a lot harder to keep the fill tube from freezing without the insulation. Also, the back insulated panel cover for the fill tube had only one screw holding it as the other screw was too short to hold. Ordered the part from Appliance part pro's ($71) and it arrived in 7 days. As a side note, during the time the part was ordered the fridge electronic display was showing error code 33E. With the error code I could not set the fridge or freezer temps or even tell what they were set at. I could not clear the code by unplugging, turning breaker off, holding certain buttons, etc. The error code went out after the new installation. Upon installation of the new fill tube, I discovered the fill tube opening was frozen up, probably because of condensation. I had not put the old one back in the tube, while awaiting the new part. I used a hair dryer set on high and blew air into the back of the tube opening for about four minutes. The installation on the fill tube was a little difficult and started to bunch up the last few inches. Also, the new fill tube did not have a notch to line up the fill spout so had to line it up manually. Also, it was hard to tell if it was all the way on. After installing the fill tube water line, I had to struggle to get the unit flush enough to get the screws installed. The electrical connections were awkward to plug in even with the top drawer removed. My ice maker does not have tabs that fit into the back as nicely as in the video. I had to shove it back to the edge of a small shelf while trying to get the first screw in.
Excellent video -- many thanks! The only thing I'd note is that both your and my old heaters were originally wrapped with the wire harness exit and foil seam at the _bottom_ of the tube as installed. The video suggests to wrap the new heater with the connector and seam on the _top_, which I did (a) because it seemed logical to be closer to the connector in the freezer compartment ceiling, and (b) just in case there was some unmentioned reason for the change. But with the same 2.5" harness length, I had a little too much wire, and it was trickier to bend and tuck the stiff harness around the icemaker assembly. If I did it again, I'd opt for the OEM way with the seam/wires on the bottom.
I ordered one of these from Appliance Pros and installed it about 2 years ago. The pipe just started freezing up again. I can't find my order invoice but was wondering what the warranty time was? Also, once the element is installed, how do you reset the ice maker to dispense water?
I'm not getting any water into my icemaker but the maker is working fine. Is there an easy way to see if this heater is failed, allowing the fill tube to freeze up??
@@appliancepartspros RF260BEAESR - had it since 2013, but have had issues getting water into the ice maker for the last several years. Originally I thought it was the refrig drain line freezing up issue and I've repaired that.
I inserted the fill tube all the way in and secured after replacing the heater - I guess it was too far in because when dumping the ice, the ice maker fill tray hit the fill tube and cracked in half! Any suggestions?
Samsung Fridge 33 E Diagnostic Error - I was receiving this error which meant the heater around the water fill tube was faulty, but instead of purchasing the heater coil I purchased the entire fill tube with heater coil. I installed the new part and the error message went away. The only problem is that the icemaker is making 4 ice cubes per freezing cycle. So I think this means the water source is either only partially open or the water line is clogged. I have a saddle valve feeding the icemaker, so I tightened the valve all the way and then loosened it. No change. Any ideas as to what could be wrong here?
Mine is the same. I found the foam had iced up and locked it in. I hit it with a hot air dryer for about 5 min around the edges and was able to twist it loose. It pulled out at an upward 45 degree angle after that.
Yes. If you get the 33 E after a power outage, you can try pressing and holding the Energy Saver and Lighting buttons for 5-10 seconds. If you got this code putting the refrigerator into troubleshooting mode, then there is an issue with your icemaker fill tube heater.

Wow this looks super easy to do. I bought a whole new assembly, so it should take 15 minutes or less. Thank you so much for this tutorial.
where did you get the assembly and what was the cost?
Awesome clear installation instructions. my refrigerator is making ice again.
Mine is not filling up the tray with water. I wonder if that is the problem. Was yours doing the same thing as mine?

Is there a replacement of this for GE models?
What a video. Excellent. Is there a parts link?
You always do top notch videos. Thanks

What is the model number of your refrigerator? You could have a defective valve maybe. Do you have a multimeter?

Top notch video!
My fridge has no screws holding in the tube as seen 3:30 into the video. It appears to be glued with an expanding foam. How do I remove it?
Mine is the same. I found the foam had iced up and locked it in. I hit it with a hot air dryer for about 5 min around the edges and was able to twist it loose. It pulled out at an upward 45 degree angle after that.
@@jeffreyrupe1284 Thanks!
Thank you👌🏽😆
Thanks.
Is this the fix for a 33 E error code?
Yes. If you get the 33 E after a power outage, you can try pressing and holding the Energy Saver and Lighting buttons for 5-10 seconds. If you got this code putting the refrigerator into troubleshooting mode, then there is an issue with your icemaker fill tube heater.
Excellent video -- thank you! That heater is just what I need.
Oh no! As of March 2022, it shows the heater as out of stock. I’ll keep checking back, unless there’s a bigger problem with supply chain.
And why do I need to cut off the water supply, "under the sink"?
I can't get the fill tube assembly to come out. Help?
I'm having that issue too.
Great informative video. Maybe have Matt ditch the gloves?
Matt likes to always wear his work gloves for repairs. Safety first! 🙂
Should have worn mittens instead to make it a little easier
Yes 33E gone
