That was epic! We were both giddy watching today's video! You're most welcome. So happy to hear you enjoyed our cooking :D Thank you also guys and we hope to cross paths with you in one of our travels... maybe someday :) Cheers! ~ Alex & Chat
8:20 thats "puso ng saging" or heart of the banana or known as flowerbud of a banana - Banana flowers emerge at the end of a bunch of developing bananas and grow from a thick, fibrous stem, from google. 😅😄😆 15:18 love adding calamansi and fishsauce for palabok 😍 I could eat that all day with cold pepsi coke
I just eaten my dinner when I saw this video. Now I am craving for Palabok, adobo, kare-kare, menudo 😁 Under Armour Philippines should get Tyler to endorse their garments!
Yes I agree. But since they don’t seem to like it. I’m pretty sure they will not even bother to eat them again🤣 Asian foor is not for everyone, unless you have the stomach for it. which is understandable tho. Have a safe and happy trip. Take care you guys. Be safe in the Phil.
Apologies for the staggered replies. Shrimp shell is left when cooked because it’s what gives out the most shrimp flavor. In fact in some dishes, the shell alone is boiled and added to sautéed vegetables to give the dish a shrimp flavor.
@joelwycoco1791 Banana blossom or heart is pertaining to the flower, while if it's the inner core of the banana tree, it's called ubod ng saging or banana pith/ banana stem
many cook kare-kare without salt so that without the shrimp paste there's no saltiness at all. just mix the bagoong in very well (and don't put a lot to start with!) and you won't notice it's there, you just taste the salt and umami. the adobo my mom cooked had both potatoes and carrots---need extenders when you're feeding a family! menu-dough lol. just remember that all our vowels are short so meh-noo-doh
Hey biscuit boys! Besides the authenticity and sense of humor, I also love that you provide constructive criticism while still showing appreciation, which sets you apart from other vloggers who tend to exaggerate their praise. Take care!❤
Oh gosh Im salivating while watching this, That was an epic feast! Bistek Tagalog is also my fave along with menudo, sinigang and tinola. But a pritong GG(fried galunggong fish) paired with a sawsawan mixture of tomatoes, onion soy sauce and sliced chlis , definitely make me eat a ton of rice haha.😂 It's a delight to see you try and enjoy more pinoy dishes and HT kitchen's food looks really delish!
love how good you use the spoon and fork! very filipino hahahah. isaac's plate on his lap is also very filipino in parties and you dont have enough tables and just sit anywhere and put the paper plate on the lap and eat hahhahaha
I'm curious. Out of those saucy dishes, which one has conquered your white shirt Isaac? Haha! Try to saucify your rice when you eat the rest. And yeah, we also put potatoes on bistek and menudo. Knowing you guys are not that a fan of citrusy stuffs, I'm glad you liked bistek tagalog. Cause that's my fave too!
I think original adobo doesn't have potatoes. But I sometimes add it to the recipe just an extender if I got a few meat cuts. But it can replace rice if there's much potatoes in the recipe.
I love ALL the food that was sent to you! They look really good too 😋😋😋 kare-Kare my fave with just a bit of shrimp paste. Oh that palabok 😋 You were sent really good stuff! The lunch box is handy when you go on long journeys (on the bus) and bring food with you. Amazing people who sent you all the food 🍽️🍽️🍽️ PS, the sauces are orange bec of an ingredient that colors it called ‘asuete’ You can visit the newly opened Esplanade and cruise on River Pasig
The Veges with the Kare Kare is the Banana bloom. They call it Banana Heart. Yes I agree you have to use serving spoon to avoid spoilage, Asian food can be refregerated in days and still safe to eat. But if you are not use to this type of cooking or meats, you will bever appreaciate the quality of the taste.
Wow! They sent you a lot of food! 😃 I don’t eat the paste with the Kate-kare cause I’m allergic; the dish is good by itself anyways. My son’s favorite is the bistek or beef steak, adobo and pork sinigang (extra sour). To this day, he always ask me to cook them whenever I visit him
in the Philippines we have our own recipe in every dish, its like different in every household. It doesnt necessarily mean copying whats in, like, jollibee, no! we dont do that. We use to cook thats what in our taste buds tells us. Take for example the kare kare, the veggies thats in there depends on what we prefer and the cooking way of shrimp paste also vary coz for me i dont like the heavy smell, we use to lessen the smell. And also in adobo - some are with sugar but i dont like sweet adobo, im not into sugar, and some have potatoes, some have chicken eggs, and some have quail eggs. Other adobo have sauce in it other prefers almost dried ones (letting the liquids to evaporate) especially meat adobo. And we also have veggies adobo (string beans, kangkong and baguio beans, etc)
Potatoes or boiled eggs in adobo as extenders balance thd flavors altogether😁 They're both perfect complements to the dish, one reduces the strong sourness and saltiness, while the other one adds a different flavor & texture to it. It really depends which one prefers😁
I almost say oh no they're too americano for the taste of shrimp paste but Welp I'm just glad that they kinda like the strong taste of shrimp paste (bago-ong) Filipino cuisine is top-notch when it comes to strong taste... My suggestion is just eat more rice if it is too salty cuz that's the point xD but eating carbs will make your tummy full too heavy ngl
Yes we pronounced it correctly, we pronounce everything correctly 🤣🤣 Sometimes , i randomly remember Isaac saying "dingdong (snacks)? The host of family feud?" Then i'll smile 😆.
That's a very common Filipino food in the Philippines, you guys will do well in there if you like this food it's very common in homes and in Turo Turo (Carinderias) they are age old recipes but none of them are exactly the same from places to places from home to home from their mothers before them👌👍😉😎✌ Note: vegetable you guys can't recognize is actually a banana, a starting bud before it sprout into the clump of fruit you would normally see, they call it "Puso ng Saging" translate to "Heart of the Banana Tree" because it's shape like a heart.. FYI
Hi guys original adobo has potatoes in it, some people just cook their adobos without sometimes due to lack of budget to buy ingredients lol😂 but originally filipino adobo has potatoes and sometimes boiled chicken or quail eggs mixed with the pork or chicken
Leave the cover off the palabok while still warm coz the moist on the cover will make the whole palabok will get stale very quick or eat them all right away
to avoid stomach aches and vomiting, avoid using the used spoon because there is a possibility that the food will be spoiled if you eat it again. You can use a serving spoon. then put the leftovers in the fridge and preheat them in the microwave or pan.
geezzzz was not able to run into guys while i was at Grass Res. Guys in front of Gate No. 3 (right side) visit a guy grilling BBQ and try hes DINAKDAKAN (for 150PHP).......highly recommended!!!! Its really good

Guys, please use serving spoons on each of the foods to avoid spoiling them. Thus, you can still eat them for days 😋 ❤

8:20 that is called banana blossom or puso ng saging in tagalog
Very Fibery texture I don't mind eating on the Kare-kare cuz when It's mixed in peanut sauce it makes it taste richer
I thought it is the heart of banana tree and blossom is the flower pls. Correct me if i am wrong.
@joelwycoco1791 Banana blossom or heart is pertaining to the flower, while if it's the inner core of the banana tree, it's called ubod ng saging or banana pith/ banana stem
I'm smiling at how much you have included rice in your meals.
Can’t go without it🙃

Oh em gee. So delicious Filipino foods. I feel so hungry watching them eating. I want to order them.
We use potatoes sometimes in adobo. And sometimes hard boiled eggs.
When you eat palabok with rice 😂😂😂😂 LMFAO epic.!!!!
i am gonna order food from HT kitchen in the morning
Those dishes are in my top 8 Filipino dishes I love!
The rounded vegetable is the heart of a banana tree.
That's the advantage when you travel to other countries. Your taste buds can explore different kinds of food.
Been ordering from HT since I moved in Mandaluyong, from daily menus (delivery carinderia meals) and sharing sizes for occasion.
Menudo is my favorite!!! ❤❤❤

Adobo really varies. My family always had potatoes and eggs and I now cook this way
I'm curious. Out of those saucy dishes, which one has conquered your white shirt Isaac? Haha! Try to saucify your rice when you eat the rest. And yeah, we also put potatoes on bistek and menudo. I just cooked BISTIK...it's marinated with Calamansi and soy sauce with the spices that's why it's soury
I think original adobo doesn't have potatoes. But I sometimes add it to the recipe just an extender if I got a few meat cuts. But it can replace rice if there's much potatoes in the recipe.
Potatoes serve as extender in adobo. The circular one that you found in kare kare is banana heart. Thank u for enjoying our food.. ❤❤❤

Onions and potatoes on adobo is not weird at all, both are staple additions to your classic adobo!

extra rice please.... those are my all time favorite Filipino foods. missing my Mom's menudo :(
Serving spoons are a must to extend the shelf life especially if you can’t finish eating everything. 😊
Other variation of adobo is with pineapple. The main ingredient is vinegar. Garlic, pepper, bay leaf.

You both are slowly becoming full Filipino. Eating rice every meal 🤣
When I'm hungry, I'll eat anything as long as it's safe. That looks yummy!
have you two been to Aqua Planet? you should check it out before the peak season 🌊⛱☀️
Banana blossoms is also one of the veggies in Kare Kare
Watching from General Santos city phil.
*_the veggie on kare2 is the banana heart or banana bloosoms._*
That's a banana blossom in kare-kare, that's my favorite. 😋
Potatoes and Hard Boiled Eggs are optional in Adobo.
333 years. Imagine how long it was ✌️😂. Especially the adobo ✌️✌️
Before you eat PALABOK, you need to add calamansi juice or lemon juice over it, then mix. On the KARE² you got the Banana Heart.
That circular vegie in Kare-kare that falls apart is banana blossom cut into pieces😊
Putting potato and boiled eggs is common in adobo as well.
8:24 that's banana flower or puso ng sagjng
Its banana heart guys the one that vege taste
Vegetable in kare kare is young banana blossom b4 it becomes a ripe banana fruit
that palabok looks elite
Leave the cover off the palabok while still warm coz the moist on the cover will make the whole palabok will get stale very quick or eat them all right away
to avoid stomach aches and vomiting, avoid using the used spoon because there is a possibility that the food will be spoiled if you eat it again. You can use a serving spoon. then put the leftovers in the fridge and preheat them in the microwave or pan.
actually you can add some hard boiled eggs in adobo, im also adding potatoes or sweet potatoes in my adobo recipe
Cmon bro, the shrimp paste is good together with the sauce of kare kare
Wow, yummy
Try cooking ginisang Sardinas.. so good
putting rice on anything, very filipino-like
thats round veggie in the kare kare is called banana flower
A spoonful of shrimp paste for the whole container, not with one bite. Take only a bit with every bite so it's not too salty.
geezzzz was not able to run into guys while i was at Grass Res. Guys in front of Gate No. 3 (right side) visit a guy grilling BBQ and try hes DINAKDAKAN (for 150PHP).......highly recommended!!!! Its really good
What's that kitchen? Where to find?
Take a stroll in Clark Pampanga And Subic Zambales
Very filipino way..eating noodles with rice 😊
You need a service spoon if you cannot finish the food you can keep it in a ref and reheat it in a oven
filipino really love u
Awesome 👏
Still in Siquijor or Quezon City? Enjoy your yummy treats. Degustation! Lucky boyz! 😋😄🎉
You need calamansi for the palabok. Crushed pork crackling on top
The menudo mainly made of tomato paste guys that's why it red😅we make also an alternative with that menudo dishes which is chicken menudo
