So now we have "First Meals" and "Last Meals!" I like it!
I’m ready for the obligatory “Middle Meals” or just “Meals” for short
@@YOjeremyRaps Second breakfastes
Aka mid life crisis meals@@YOjeremyRaps
@@AJ-ht3kf Just binge eating guilt food like a TV dinner or frozen pizza and talking about how the good old days a FAR behind them
I wish this was the original set for last meals though
A Filipino episode and of course Stewie would say "Tite". Classic Stevie
and “pekp3k”
🎉
Stewie all about that pek pek.
Stewie?
stevie is a guys name though. and im still seeing a box. so her name is still stephany. ffs
I already get so excited whenever Josh drops random Filipino references (which he does more than you'd think) so an episode where he's making and feeding Stevie all the things I grew up eating has filled my heart to the brim. Thanks guys, love you ❤
I’m a Home Depot trucker in Edmonton, Alberta.
One of the stores that I regularly service and drive for has a predominantly Filipino staff base.
From time to time they have staff food festivals in the staff lunch room that I’ve been able to enjoy.
Real Filipino food is the absolute best food ever. ❤
A a Filipino who is retired from professional cooking, a fan of GMM and Mythical Kitchen, and who thinks Stevie is extremely charming, and Josh is smart and funny, this is the best thing I've watched on TH-cam ever! Homerun, Mythical Team! Thank you.
as a Asian who is watching youtube, while eating chicken and rice with his hands, and who is typing this with one hand, I agree.
Haha they made this just for you it seems!
@@jclazeuz8308 lmaooo as a Nigerian-American college kid eating flaming hot cheetos and typing with one hand and 3 fingers, i also agree
It's a shame she drives a Subaru
Love this comment!!
I love the lighting on this one, and the less formal setup. It’s so homey and intimate. Very much like Mom (Mythical Chef Josh) feeding her kid. Such a good juxtaposition to Last Meals.
What device were you using? My phone seemed very dark and I had to bump up my brightness.
I want to agree with you but mine also seemed pretty dark. I’m glad someone else noticed tho
I'm watching at night outside with a porch light and no brightness on and the lighting is perfect.
I actually was thinking I hate the lighting and it's really distracting lol
it's lit well on all of my devices. but they're all OLED
I love the fact that your asking the questions while cooking for the person. This feels nice and warm. I just love everything about this.
Hb jjeje
A Filipina friend of mine in high school had me over for dinner and they served whole salted/fried fish with a side of spaghetti (with the sweeter style sauce) to each person... good news is I was raised eating lots of different things and that you eat what you are served so I didn't even blink twice, just dug in and honestly for a first time it was fantastic, the combination of flavors was great and made me a life long lover of Filipino food. He should have had her also try Halo Halo.
As a filipino, as soon as I heard Stevie's pronunciation of tortilla, a huge smile went across my face
Just got to the moment in the video where we learned why you laughed. Bless her little heart 😂
LMAO I ALSO JUST GOT TO THAT MOMENT
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
i read this comment before watching the video, i fully thought you meant she pronounced it the spanish way like tortiya. but............ yep i thought wrong lol
Pare, so tru talaga, so true
Josh and Stevie is a rare combination and I want more of it
So true! And their chemistry is so good!
I love Stevie and moments where we can see how much she aligns creatively and comedically with Rhett and Link. I feel from a viewer’s perspective that Mythical is so beautifully enhanced and led by Stevie, in all of the different hats that she must wear at work. I love how Stevie stars in GMM as the host, walking alongside and supporting Rhett and Link through each episode, while also being so funny and engaging. I also really appreciate some of her other starring projects BFBA and literal LTAT, which I feel are true favorites of mine. Like come on for real, Stevie is such a star! While I often find myself wishing we saw more of her on screen, it is so awesome to be reminded of so clearly how much her leadership as Chief Creative Officer is serving as a driving force for the company. I love when crew members will comment on camera about what a wonderful boss she is and there’s literally nothing better than a wonderful boss. Kudos to all, thanks for the great videos. ❤
this was so cool!! from the lighting and how it was shot, to the editing and topics you discussed. I really hope this becomes a regular thing!
everytime josh makes a bones reference in the most random situation I feel seen and understood in such a rare and wonderful way
I feel that lol. Huge Bones fan!
YUP
Yes! It’s one of those shows you can just keep watching over and over… although I’d argue Josh is not bones, but a mix of Hodgins and Vincent Nigel Murray with his vast array of knowledge, awkward timing, and natural hilariousness. Lol
Celebrity Lives Dont Matter. stop simping for youtubers. @@sammyw7301
SAME!!!
Josh is so effortlessly witty. He really has the quick mind of a comedian mixed with the food knowledge and skill of a professional chef
He is charismatic as hell, and I'm sure he just looks up random topics to read about. Most people like learning but lack the prep for an interview, and even fewer people can match the energy / pep or have the charismatic ability to segue to a new point in conversation.
I find Josh irritating solo on the channel cause its just him rambling on with random hard cuts, give him another person and its great.
Right, we'd fall asleep if he gave us a monologue of facts. Lily has faked them in mythical kitchen even lol. Having another person helps slowly disperse his information and what he has to offer@@WhatsGahd
I agree that he is a great entertainer, but his culinary knowledge is definitely not on a industry chef level
He's hot too
I actually enjoy MK videos with Josh and this one I found grating and painfully unfunny.
What a wonderful format! I loved getting to know more about Stevie and the casual conversation. Josh always kills it at interviewing
Josh is invited to the Filipino Xmas party -- always love how good he is of representing various cultures including my own 🇵🇭
It started with “Last Meals.” Now we have “First Meals.”
Next up - “Meals I Eat On A Regular Basis.”
That’s kinda pointless really, how about “Meals I’d never Eat” Put Link in every episode.
mid meals
"Meals Josh eats over a trash can/sink"
Call it Daily Bread and he only interviews religious leaders but with the genuine curiosity he has to learn about any and all beliefs
Thanks Josh for the Filipino feature! As a proud Filipino and a Mythical Kitchen fan, you've made my day. I really appreciate your genuine love for our food and culture. More Filipino food content, please!
"Proud filipino" 😂
omg, LOVE this new series/concept🖤🖤 and we all already know josh is an amazing interviewer so i can’t wait for more!!
I really like the format of cooking while talking and the dim lighting is such a chill vibe
This is a fantastic concept and can't wait to see more episodes.
I love the cozy lighting and how it very much just looks like someone cooking for their friend and it's great
@@lukaslazariYou have a winner here and this would make for a good series.
Josh is a good interviewer. This is like a reverse day time talk show but instead of a guest as a chef the host is cooking. Looking forward to more episodes of these.
In the UK we have a show called Saturday Kitchen, and also James Martins Saturday Morning which is exactly this format - it works!
Yes to this new series!!! Awesome job guys and everyone behind it! Can't wait to see more please!
Such a great new format. I can promise you that this is gonna go far like Last Meals has done. Love how casual and chill it is
When Josh whipped out the first IG photo of Stevie, I got Hot Ones vibes and I’m here for it! Ya’ll crushed it with this new format!
And Josh is multi-tasking while having an engaging conversation!
Stevie is so likable, I respect she prefers being behind the camera, but everything she has been one has been good. I have wanted LTAT back for so long.
Ltat was such a comfort show for me, I've prayed for it to return since it ended!
I go back and forth with her. When she's genuine, I love her, but when she's fake, she's like nails on a chalkboard. Unfortunately, she's fake a majority of the time.
agree 100%, i miss LTAT every day BUT there’s gonna be another LTAT special on the mythical society soon! exciting!
@@TheDoctorinspector ???fake???? How?
@@PunkishGhost Is this a serious question? Her first sentence to open up the video was even a blatant lie.
LOVE the format, it has a soft cooking podcast vibe. Very nice
Great idea for a series. There are tons of opportunities out there for great features and I can’t wait to see these episodes!
"Let brown food be brown" the entire UK agrees with you Josh
i am literally eating jollibee for dinner right now 😮 combining "ulam" (viand) is indeed a Filipino thing. great examples would be iconic Filipino breakfast meals like tapsilog, hotsilog, longsilog etc. so eating the adobo + lumpia + rice was completely valid 😌👌🏽 i love hearing how Josh was so into Filipino cuisine and thank you Stevie for being open to trying out Filipino dishes 🫶🏼
also, the way "do you know what pekpek means?" was brought up so casually in this kind of dim ambience was so funny 😭
Same, I stopped at the one near my work in Vietnam.
Aside from seeing those Filipino foods, I've been remembering her to Hayley Williams the whole time I'm watching.
I'm really excited for this series to continue!
Josh and Stevie is an epic duo. His jokes, her laughs. Just a pure delight to watch lol.
LOVE this format, and Stevie is a fantastic pick of guest to start it off
Saw the fried chicken and gravy segment, and I heard “They’re going off the rails on the Gravy Train” with Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train” opening :P
This is really quite a vibe, and I wish there were more of these
Love the new format! Can’t wait for more of this series
As a Filipino fan, thanks for showcasing my culture!! Filipino food is an acquired taste and I’m so happy when I see it being enjoyed by people I watch daily
I wasn't sure if you were a Filipino fan, or if you were literally a Filipino fan
Mythical Kitchen is killing it with these "last" and "first" concepts, it's just infinitely relatable
The way this show is set up is so cozy, the lighting ties it in real nice
Mythical Kitchen is a lovely consulting project. They took the strengths of GMM (the fun formats) + strengths of the kitcheneers and made this beautiful concoction. Love your work and great new format!
I love this not just because it's Josh and Stevie's but because Josh is preparing the food as he interviews. That's just awesome.
the lighting and the vibe for this is so chill, it's got a winding down after recording feel to it
I love the lighting you guys have here. It gives a nice, cozy vibe like catching up with a coworker after work.
i absolutely love this concept, i hope we get more of it!!!
19:38 Josh's head is behind the shelf lol
Finally someone else noticed, I've said it on the Mythical Kitchen Reddit but nobody has batted an eye, lol, they seem to have copied and pasted background over the wall for some reason
Probably to cover up a boom mic if I had to guess. Makes the set look nicer when there isn't equipment hanging from the ceiling. @@tylerjayyt4965
@@tylerjayyt4965Almost 100% certain it’s to mask over where the overhead table camera is
@@mintychipThat makes a lot of sense but it's super distracting to me lol
You can never go wrong with good food and great people. Stevie is such adorable human, together with Josh's humor it becomes magical.
I really like this format. It solves what I've always felt was missing from Last Meals, i.e. the cooking.
Filipino Canadian here, I can't speak for Stevie's Filipino neighbours, but if they or someone else saw hole in the cake after those photos were taken, the most likely scenario that would have happened was
1. They would have found it really funny and not be offended even if it was an accident as Stevie said.
2. Your Filipino hosts would have not only given you that punched part of that cake but also 1/3rd on either side of said punched cake to take home.
3. Quickly slice the punched area of said cake, and say to quickly eat it. After taking pictures of said cake.
Josh, thank you for doing adobo and lumpia! They look so good!
im already in love with this series. from despair in last meals to excitement and wonder in first meals. cant wait for more!!!!
Josh, I'm a Bones head. Own the series. If I didn't already pre order 2 copies of your book, I would do it again. I love how you can be you, same with the kitchen crew!
i was looking for a bones head comment👏🏻 we love josh for having excellent taste in tv
I hope this becomes a whole series it was really good!
Loooooove this episode! Josh's love of filipino food shows and that warms my heart!
lmao the timing of this video with Benny Blanco's Jolibee controversy. Thank you for healing the world
This is honestly a great date idea with the First Time questions aspect and maybe even cooking for your significant other. Thanks for the idea, Josh and Stevie!
This is great I really hope they make more episodes.
This video is amazing, gives me a tv show vibe but instead of acting it's legit talking. and I think they could really do something like that in rather future. because it's so genuine and nice to watch. very refreshing.
I love that he cook it first before serving and not precooked. 🇵🇭 Thank you for featuring our food. ❤❤❤
More Stevie please! Love her personality! Thank you Josh for another great video!! Keep up the good work!!
Love this idea! Excited to see other food “firsts”. Also need more Stevie and Josh together 💯
It's awesome that you introduced some traditional dishes before going for the fastfood awesome ep!
I'll watch anything you put Stevie in. She's wonderful!
@14:34 Stevie finally understood why she puts up with all of Josh's lame jokes
how cozy is this, the lighting, the conversation, jollibee❤❤
Love the new format!
Josh has such an amazing aptitude for interviewing and Stevie is such a perfect person to interview. Truly one of my favorite videos yall have made
Amazing 1st episode! Love that Josh used Datu Puti for that adobo :D
Having gone to High School with Stevie, it's awesome to see her try Filipino foods! Can't believe I stumbled upon the video. Go Stevie!!
This just makes me so happy. My Nanay would make Lumpia for me as a kid every birthday. Love seeing someone try something I love for the first time.
This is Absolutely fantastic! Stevie is the perfect First guest for First Meals. I love it when Josh gets people laughing hard! This episode was pure gold! Keep This series going for a while! I love it!
Stevie is such a treasure
Josh never fails ot make me laugh. Thanks man!!! I need it right now.
I like this new series. I'm looking forward to more.
Josh and Stevie are the two most talented members of Mythical. Getting them together is such a treat.
Love how she said, "Tagalog, which is a Filipino language.." because Tagalog isn't the only language in the Philippines ❤
i already pre ordered this cookbook like 2 months ago on amazon and i cannot wait!!! this will be my first cookbook in like 12 years lol
Love this concept for a show!
Stevie's teacher telling her it's not nice to laugh at people who get hurt made her decide to do it for a living.
I love this idea. We need more!
I love this! Last Meals is amazing and I love it but sometimes it’s a little more serious or intense than I want to watch at the moment so I really like this as a more lighthearted counterpart!
I would love more crew on this show! Seems like a great vessel for them to tell their story if they want to!
I find Stevie charming, and really enjoyed this. I loved that she seemed to genuinely enjoy the food
Yesss. New series as many have said! ‘First meals’ love this!
love stevie love josh love mythical kitchen loved this episode
I love this new format
Love this idea of a show 🤗🤗🤗 Gonna be watching for sure 😍😍😍 Cheers from Slovenia ❤️
Love this spin off. Josh continues to show how good he is at interviewing - puts people at ease and shares enough about himself to encourage conversation without making the focus entirely on him. Aces, Charles.
And speaking of TV references - I decided to write a comment bc I JUST finished a rewatch of all of Bones last night. I loved that show - super formative for my little nerdy science girl self. Boneheaded squints unite 😉
When I left San Diego, a work colleague brought a package of his lumpia to take on my drive. I had always raved about them at potlucks. About any of his dishes he brought, they were excellent. My first filipino food.
He said don't eat burgers, don't eat pizza, eat lumpia. Stay healthy and strong. Another package-chicken, for the cat.
Funny how sometimes you don't know someone is family until you're leaving.
You two are always fun. Thanks for the laughs.
Who is this Dad cooking for Stevie? Love it. I like the bookending of first and last meals. The growth of the Mythical Kitchen team over the last year or so has been awesome. Good on ya.
Where I live we have a very large Filipino community which is very fun bc when people move here they often haven't even had lumpia before and its so fun watching someone try it for the first time and go from skeptical to in awe
First Times is a good contrast to Last Meals, also, there are a lot of people who do eat adobo with Sweet and Spicy sauce.
You know what, every time that there is a Pinoy or Filipino term pop up in TH-cam, we are so intrigued and interested to watch. Thanks for this.
Okay I’m definitely loving this series already too😂❤
I absolutely love this! Josh is so great at asking random questions while staying busy, while spouting random facts at the same time! And it's always great to see and hear from Stevie, as suttle as she is, GMM wouldn't be the same without her!
This is awesome 😊
Delicious lookin food, funny stories and Good times with Josh and Stevie 😆❤️
For me the mythical cookbook is not just a want, it's a need. I can tell how much work y'all put into it and it's a good thing I'm someone who loves to cook, but I'm still going to put it on display somewhere in my house. 😊
Loved this episode!
Best story about punching cake I've ever heard!
Great concept!
From my experience, people might not like Filipino spaghetti right off the bat because it's so different from what they're expecting. But then it grows on and you'll start craving it.
