Four Roses is the pinnacle of what every distillery should model. They actually have attainable product that is top tier at every price point. So sick of allocated bourbons that started as $30 dollar bottles that became popular, then allocated, then 6X in price but the flavor doesn’t hold up to the new price.I’ll take Four Roses all day.
While I have limited experience with 4R, I couldn't agree with you more on the $30->$180 allocation crap. It's absolutely ridiculous. Even beyond the sad reality that people are making these bourbons status symbols, many of these status symbols aren't really all that good. 😄
I was always a scotch guy. I had a client of mine talk me into trying a bottle of small batch and I was hooked. Got my hands on some allocated stuff , but its way too much of a hassle. Especially when you can find four roses everywhere. Great video gentleman 🥃Salud!
Four Roses Single Barrel was my introduction into the bourbon world. In a way, kind of set me up for failure because it was SO good that all the other bourbons I've tried since have been lacking lol!
4 roses sb is awesome! It is also a high rye mash bill bourbon so maybe make your next bourbon purchase also a high rye. Ex, 1792 small batch or old grandad bib, 114. Just a thought.
@@Super804boy My whiskey collection has grown significantly since last year. Made me realize I love a wide variety. I am still a huge fan of 4R products- the barrel strength selections are amazing! I recently picked up an OESQ JE66 that’s over 120 proof. The neck pour was hot but I suspect it will only get better. Highly recommend picking one of those up if you ever find one. ❤
My goto, especially for Old Fashions, ist the Four Roses Single Barrel. They didn't have it at store I was at, wo I got the Small Batch and was pleasantly surprised. I still prefer Single Barrel, but Select is great!
Awesome idea to delve into one single distillery's offerings. When I go to the store I often wonder what the difference is in a distillery's small batch, vs single barrel, vs select, etc. This would make a great series!

Just started drinking bourbon, never liked it when I was younger. Now my rates have changed tried the knob creek 120 proof and loved it. Bought the four roses single barrel and liked that one even more

I picked up a 4 Roses single barrel (warehouse no. - HE)(Barrel no. 78-4Q) after the first pour from the neck I said I’ll never buy another , after it has rested a couple weeks it’s now one of my favorites. Great video!
With the high rye bourbon like 4 roses sb the neck pour can be quite bites! Excellent choice on your part to leave it sit and come back to it on another day!

i like the fact that their entry level is a mix of all their stuff. that already sets the tone. and then, this bourbon is good in every way you can drink it. mixed or not, this bourbon will shine. for me, for 20$ you can't beat that feeling. of course, for a real connaisseur, drinking it dry might be a touch "meh" but honestly, for 10$ more you have the single barrel and there, you have a nice experience. so once again, the pricing is soooo right with them that you can't be disappointed. this brand is part of a collection foundation. you can't pass on the value this brand has. that would be a shame. thanks for the review.

Love Four Roses, usually have all 4 on bar. Never had the Yellow until a few years ago in Boston had one of the best old fashion drinks ever and it was made with the $18 Yellow of Four Roses
My parents always had a bottle of four roses in a lock box in a closet in case any company liked a drink. My dad drank beer, but we were not a drinking family. I like four roses bourbon.

Four Roses is worth every penny! Also the distillery is absolutely gorgeous if you get the chance to visit it is well worth it… plus you can buy some of the single barrel barrel strength bottles which are unique!
Here in my area "Illinois" Small batch $33 Single barrel $38 Small batch select $52 I think the SBS is the winner on taste and single barrel is the best bang for the buck I think all three are a must buy . 🥃👍 Never tried the entry level 80 proof .

IMO 4 Roses is severely overlooked. I can always count on them. I am always looking to try something different but the Small Batch is very underrated. I haven't tried the Select but I am interested in giving it a go.
4R SB has become my baseline all-rounder. Bulleit is my go-to mixer now, but, TBH, I would just as soon have 4R SB and Diet, and it is also super rocks or neat (Bulleit is kinda rough rocks)

I’ve never dove into bourbon too heavy, I just find a couple I like and stick with em and Four Roses is my favorite. For me I just stick with what I like n I’m happy
I like this distillery, too - especially, the Single Barrel. When I consider moving up the price ladder, I think of it as cost per 2 oz pour. 750 ml = 25.4 fl oz. So, a regular bottle provides about 12 pours. A $24 bottle = $2 per pour, a $36 bottle = $3 per pour, a $48 bottle= $4 per pour, and a $60 bottle (my limit!) = $5 per pour. Helps to keep things in perspective. Whiskey is not cheap. Doubt many of your viewers approach it in this way, though. Btw, in Jacksonville, we're seeing the Single Barrel at both Total Wine and Costco for $35.
Their single barrel is one of my favorites. Just bought a new bottle and caught my wife making her bourbon and coke with it! I was not happy. She said she had run out of her bourbon and will buy me a bottle.
I love Four Roses. I remember my Grandfather having a bottle and a Four Roses shot glass in a kitchen cabinet. This was back in the mid 1960s. I just started buying it in the last 2-3 years. I've got a bottle of the 100 proof on my whiskey shopping list. Thanks for your content ❤️

Used this video as a guide for me to make a purchase for a gift to my father. - We don't have much in common, but we both find great enjoyment experiencing new whiskey and rhum flavours. I don't know much at all about US Bourbon Whiskey, thus this felt like a great help for me.
4 roses is a specific flavor profile so don’t try to talk yourself into trying to like something you don’t like. Just a suggestion if you decide to try another bottle pick up the single barrel. Also, for me, it seems the longer the bottle is open the better it gets.
I bought my first bottle of Four Roses and I picked up the Small Batch Select. The tasting notes for me was caramel, sweet fruit almost candy like and some baking spices. I am totally impressed and when my bottle is finished off I definitely will buy it again.
Their single barrel is my favorite burbon. Their regular four roses isn’t bad for the price. I know a lot of people taste different. I personally get a lot of cherry. Almost like a chocolate covered cherry
I’ve had all four. I like 4 Roses also. When I did the tour at their distillery, the host in the tasting facility, called the low end “Yellow Label” their cooking bourbon. It is drinkable also, but one can tell the difference.
In my research their website stated they no longer call the entry bourbon yellow label because they changed the color of the label to coincide with the others. Not sure if the recipe changed or not.
I have had two of these bourbons out of the four bourbons in this video. Here in MA I can pick up Four Roses Bourbon for about $20 bucks. The Four Roses Single Batch Bourbon is very good but a little too much proof for me personally but with a block of ice it is soo good. The Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon I paid $59.99 here in MA. Watched several of your videos and Four roses was always suggested in the comments…. Was not disappointed my brother and I loved the single barrel. Will have to try the others.
4 Rose's Single Barrel was my first "expensive" bottle. I distinctly remember that first bottle because it was the first bourbon I tried with distinct flavor notes. I could isolate a sweet cinnamon nose and taste.
I bought a bottle of the small batch for an engagement party where we used it to make old fashioned cocktails. When I bought it I said to myself, whatever is left over I will use for the next couple of months.. Yea so me and 5 other friends finished it in one night LOL will be buying again!
Couldn't agree more with your assessment of these whiskies. From the entry level to the Select, anyone should be confident to serve them at their bar. If I had to pick a favorite distillery, Four Roses wins!
I'm currently drinking Four Roses Single Barrel while watching this video. If that seems like BS and convenient.. It's not. FRSB is my go to and easily one of my favorites.
Also, I would love to see a Wild Turkey video. IMO, there is no better Whiskey under $30 than Wild Turkey 101.. And Rare Breed is my other go to along with Four Roses Single Barrel.
I'm new to whiskey and the depth of the subject... lol... but as I watch this video I'm sipping the entry level 4 roses... and I'm impressed!!! I literally just cracked the seal on it while watching!! I think it is going to be my new favorite whiskey outside of crown royal. The only one I haven't tried is the small batch select. They make some of the best bourbon available at any price. FRSB is my absolute favorite. Let's do this again with Old Forrester.
The only Four Roses that I've tried is Small Batch, and there is almost always a bottle in the cabinet. The SB Select will need a try. It seems that the brand is a good value and fine product.

I'd add michters to the list. they are the best at making and producing low to high level amazing products
I wouldn't say the entry-level Four Roses Yellow label is "top tier" for its $24 price point, but agree with the rest.
They were top shelf till they got bought out. Now they are bottom shelf.
Four Roses is my favorite 80 proof Bourbon. That's the one I recommend to all novice Bourbon drinkers.

I can actually find this bourbon, and it's relatively affordable. I just tried the single barrel and I liked it.

That is exactly what I thought. I have been avoiding that because of that. Looks like I will have to try them out, especially for the price point.

In my research their website stated they no longer call the entry bourbon yellow label because they changed the color of the label to coincide with the others. Not sure if the recipe changed or not.
Just left the Four Roses distillery 2 days ago. Love them all. Bought the single barrel barrel strength bottle. OBSV
I have had two of these bourbons out of the four bourbons in this video. Here in MA I can pick up Four Roses Bourbon for about $20 bucks. The Four Roses Single Batch Bourbon is very good but a little too much proof for me personally but with a block of ice it is soo good. The Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon I paid $59.99 here in MA. Love the videos. Thanks.

Watched several of your videos and Four roses was always suggested in the comments…. Was not disappointed my brother and I loved the single barrel. Will have to try the others.

4 Rose's Single Barrel was my first "expensive" bottle. I distinctly remember that first bottle because it was the first bourbon I tried with distinct flavor notes. I could isolate a sweet cinnamon nose and taste.

I bought a bottle of the small batch for an engagement party where we used it to make old fashioned cocktails. When I bought it I said to myself, whatever is left over I will use for the next couple of months.. Yea so me and 5 other friends finished it in one night LOL will be buying again!

Couldn't agree more with your assessment of these whiskies. From the entry level to the Select, anyone should be confident to serve them at their bar. If I had to pick a favorite distillery, Four Roses wins!

I'm currently drinking Four Roses Single Barrel while watching this video. If that seems like BS and convenient.. It's not. FRSB is my go to and easily one of my favorites.
Also, I would love to see a Wild Turkey video. IMO, there is no better Whiskey under $30 than Wild Turkey 101.. And Rare Breed is my other go to along with Four Roses Single Barrel.
The sb is a dynamite bottle! Wild Turkey will def be on the list!
I'm new to whiskey and the depth of the subject... lol... but as I watch this video I'm sipping the entry level 4 roses... and I'm impressed!!! I literally just cracked the seal on it while watching!! I think it is going to be my new favorite whiskey outside of crown royal. I'm open to any suggestions on new juice ..lol ... thanks for the video!!

The only one I haven't tried is the small batch select. They make some of the best bourbon available at any price. FRSB is my absolute favorite. Let's do this again with Old Forrester.

The only Four Roses that I've tried is Small Batch, and there is almost always a bottle in the cabinet. The SB Select will need a try. It seems that the brand is a good value and fine product.

Small batch is $29.99 in MA. Hard to beat that for the value. Single barrel a bit more here than you quoted so unsure on that value.
