- tyranny of heaven is a weapon that i constantly get asked about and pressured on to use and try out. so i finally did and i will admit... it is not as cringe as i thought.

i'll post this in the comments as well: this is among the first videos that i've had edited by an editor for this channel. for the past year, i said that i was gonna keep things relatively the same when it comes to scripted content and all that, but that year is almost done. i said in the past that i was eventually going to be rotating to more unscripted content for things like weapon reviews or guides and stuff like that and this is the start, so i hope the format change isn't too jarring. i actually think the video flows very nicely and the editor did a great job considering it was their first video for me. i will still have scripted content on the channel like first impressions, thoughts videos on certain topics and other stuff. but for the in between content like weapon reviews or season events, or more fun stuff like the dreaming city chest video or the imbaru engine, i plan on utilizing editors to give myself a little more time to... myself. we'll talk more closer to my 11 year update video about this more if there are any issues.

The only reason I use Icarus dash is because I legit just forget about it every time. That’s it. It’s really dope and cooler than Icarus dash, but I can’t remember it for the life of me.
It's even funnier cause since he was running Thermites he could've just traded out Touch of Flame for no downsides.
@@adummy9664 Oh my lord that's such a good point. Thermites aren't buffed by Touch of Flame at all.
I am bad about getting knocked back by any enemy that does knockback, so Icarus is a huge life saver for me.

Explosive Head and Incandescent has been my choice, but yes, this bow fucks
why explosive head of you dont mind me asking? the precision hit making ignitions and scorch seems great and dragonfly might just be better in slot. if you have a reason that would be suuuper helpful
@@JustAFishBeingAFish Explosive Head gives more base damage to the bow itself, 15% more I think. It's the same combination as Zalou's Bane, it's like a mini legendary sunshot, but able to do it with a bow.
And while the Ignition is very fun, I don't tend to find much actual use in it? With 2 more shots I clear an area and proc an ignition just the same, and Explosive Head also allows me to be less precise and more run and gun with it, which is how I play anyways.
Tyrrany enjoyer reporting in, this is my most used legendary weapon since that big push for Last Wish farming with goldies a year or so ago. The fact that Incandescent activates off of Dragonfly kills is the magic here. If you have more than 2 enemies in a group, and you Dragonfly them, you just set of a thermonuclear fallout. E-Incandescent is a WILD trait.
I prefer my Under Your Skin if I'm using a legendary bow. The perks are great, whenever we have Anti-Barrier Bowstring on the Artifact, I can pull out my Archer's Tempo+Adaptive Munitions Under Your Skin, too. Land Tank's bonus Resist is just nice for being a tank.

I find that the bow shines in content like solo dungeons and similar, where the enemies aren't quite as tanky as GMs, but you need giga ad-clear without sacrificing your exotic slot.
in that content an smg or hand cannon can easily surpass the bow since there is no draw time and the bazillion solar perks also benefit those should you choose to use a solar one,besides theres no need to be far away with a bow in content where stuff hits like wet noodles.

I really like these legendary weapon assessments that you do. It helps bring more attention to some primaries that are legitimately good, even if in circumstantial situations; and having that sort of attention on these primaries can help kind of shape an understanding on what the goal post should be for a decently designed legendary primary. Thank you for the video!

Dragonfly is my fun roll for sure. Also why I have two crafted rolls.
This, explosive head incandescent is absolutely my 'I want this bow to feel good' roll. Sure you lose a bit off the top end, but your bottom end smooths out so much nicer and you can just spam shots so much more freely knowing anything you do will get the kill you desire, and more things will die thanks to the free extra damage.

Can’t believe you thought we didn’t watch legendary weapon reviews anymore they’re almost more important than the exotic weapon reviews because there’s so many random roles on a lot of these weapons that it’s nice to hear the opinions of different people on what combinations they think are the strongest

But real talk, I run mine with Dragonfly/Incandescent, and that thing just melts, even in high end content. It’s a bow, so it’s gonna snag headshots anyways, and the double explosions are surprisingly lethal.
I use this for gms or master raids as zoulis and forbearance don't 1 shot but tyranny does

Datto, for these more fun videos this is great. Hell, i just wanna see you chilling and talking about stuff in the game. Then for your big exotic vids and opinion pieces with text on screen, I'd like to see your more personal editing touch. A good example, the off the cuff vids of yours I love honestly is you reading through the twab and big patches giving your thoughts along the way.
I can't catch streams as often as I'd like, but this was a great way to see your thought process when it comes to fully maximizing a build or weapon

If you wanna try out another insanely underrated weapon, Epochal Integration is my absolute go-to for legendary hand cannons, legendary solar weapons, and PvP weapons. An actual hidden gem.
In PvE it is basically just a worse Zaouli's tbf. In PvP it is actually decent if you've got harmoniser bumping it's stats - just doesn't have quite as much range as you'd like.
But yeah, for a guaranteed easy to get drop it's really good
Next weapon you gotta try is the Psi Hermetic V with Headstone. Whisper of Rending combined with the origin trait will auto shatter the crystals for you, it’s super fun
Soooo good this season & definitely slept on hard. It works really well w/proc'ing the artifact perk.

I literally just got this roll to drop today, was having fun with it, then I hopped on to youtube and see this video. Can't wait to be able to craft it with enhanced perks
I have a Wolftone Draw in my vault that has over 2k kills because of Dragonfly. I used it a lot in Season of the Lost in GMs and seasonal content.
I do think Tyranny is good, but I think it's overly reliant on the broken solar nonsense in the artifact. It is a lightweight bow. And so in high end content, it just doesn't have the kill power that a precision bow has, and that makes proccing Dragonfly harder than it needs to be.
But I totally agree that for things like Coil or other seasonal stuff, or just stuff with less beefy enemies in general, Tyranny of Heaven is good fun.
Definitely one of my favorite legendary solar weapons...at least before the sandbox changes this season.
Since the sandbox changes though it's really hard to put down my Heal Clip + Incandescent Heliocentric QSC, and I'd honestly like to try one with Frenzy instead of Incandescent particularly for playing on non-solar subclasses.
I've found that with the introduction of Dragon's Breath it's really valuable to have a strong solar legendary to pair with it. One that helps cause ignitions in particular is even better.
Granted I'd LOVE to try a Heal Clip + Incandescent or Onslaught Summoner but I can't get one to drop.
i love this artifact for the ignitions from headshots, the artifact is definitely up there with the season of the lost artifact

when i got mine crafted i started running it with explosive head adagio and it makes it very easy to do both majors and any red bars with bow only. i also run mantle of battle harmony meaning well is almost always up and free damage boost.
Been saying since Strident Whistle's release that legendary bows are basically the only primary with running unless you're using an exotic
If defiently feels like it's edited by someone else but in a good way. ^.^ Still really like how the vid is put together and honestly I like the additional editing flourishes added like the cards for revelent info popping up.
I really like it for master lost sectors, two hits activates radiant with the artifact mod, causing second precision hit, if it is a kill, to: apply scorch, dragonfly explode (maybe killing things, causing incandescent explosions), incandescent explode, ignition explode. Use the fragment to apply scorch on ignitions, and incandescent applies scorch, dragonfly maybe applies some scorch, and yeah tldr lots of fire lots of explosions, can definitely chain multiple times in beefy groups.
Dragonfly itself doesn't apply scorch.

I personally really like using lightweight bows in PvE. I got my Tyranny of Heaven with explosive/swashbuckler (I have incandescent on an adept Pre Astyanax) and my Tripwire Canary with dragonfly/explosive
For all my fellow legendary bow users, this one is also fantastic with swashbuckler in PvP.
Definitely wait on the upcoming nerfs before suggesting any bow. They definitely will survive, but we can't know for sure.
I can't remember the last time I played this game without a Legendary Bow in one of my slots. I absolutely love them, definitely the best legendary weapon type for me!

been running dragonfly incandescent on that bow basically this whole season, any headshot kills just nukes a whole room. combined with the season perks its nuts.
I like Tyrany of Heaven when I want to run Dragons Breath or need to run Gally for the fireteam. If you need an exotic in another shot, this is one of the best alternatives for solar. Always good to have a backup.
A good way to describe it is that it's like Caliban's Hand. It isn't that great agains't higher health enemies, but if there's a group of adds, then they are gonna go BOOM. It's good weapon, but not overpowered.
So seeing this and looking a weapon gun rolls... I KINDA wanna try Nation of Beasts WITH Dragonfly & Voltshot together. I realize that the goal of the bow is to spread scorch WITH the AOE, but I think It will be fun to tag a larger target with Volt AND to pick off smaller ads with dragonfly.
I am also curious if dragonfly synergizes with golden Tricorn OR kill clip. Do AOE kills proc the kill active perks, do the damage perks increase the AOE damage etc.
I think the reality is its never going to compete with an exotic bow. However, it's a decent enough option to enable you to use an exotic special or heavy alongside the bow playstyle.
There was nothing there that can't be similarly achieved on an SMG or Auto with a similar perk combination, and those would far better in a pinch against higher health enemies.
I think you make a great point about *most* legendary bows - an exotic is usually better. But I do agree Tyranny of Heaven is the exception - and to me the big difference is Explosive Head. I think it's a fairly unique perk and helps on solar shielded things/weaker adds.
My favorite setup on it: Natural string, carbon arrow, archer's tempo and then obviously explosive head. Re-draw and aim are big for me.
My legendary weapon this season has been dire promise lol. I have Osmosis and overflow. Which on paper seems dumb, but considering the artifact perks and turning Dire into a solar weapon with a grenade throw, I can proc radiant and then head shot ignition enemies. Which has been very fun

I got the Incan + dragonfly roll last season and even before all of the solar focused artifact mods it was my go to because it really was going crazy lol, nice to see Datto put some respect on its name hahaha
I run this bow with my precious scars solar titan.having this bow and sun spots everywhere,it really pops off. use explosive head instead of dragonfly to get that bump to a one shot kill.doesnt work for every red bar but adding minor spec helps too

I know that we already have 3.0 perks that like incandescent ect. But would be cool if firefly would at least creat firesprites, ionic trace (by itself without the fragment) and void breaches so at least it would synargize with 3.0 subclasses more.
Dragonfly is awesome as a 3rd column perk. That's really the selling point of all the Last Wish energy primaries now. You should try Age Old Bond too! Dragonfly+Destabilizing rounds is awesome

I still use my OG roll of it archer tempo explosive head but sadly you cant get that roll anymore after it became craftable
Datto can I recommend solar with benevolence on warlock with boots of the assembler on grandmaster. The ability uptime is pretty spicy!
Crafted tyrany is comical amounts of fun lol. Feels like an exotic thanks to the perks this season.
Nation of Beasts changed how I looked at Dragonfly. Stack it with Voltshot and it’s my favorite big electric iron on my hip
Now we just need to convince Datto that Pulses aren't cringe anymore either after they've been buffed like 3 times over the past year. :P
Insidous also has left column Dragonfly + One For All so you can get explosions that easily proc OFA for the damage buff, Oversoul Edict plays nice with Swashbuckler because of the Origin Trait so it's good in Melee builds, but my personal favorite is probably Chattering Bone with Kill Clip + Kinetic Tremors since Kill Clip lets you deal with smaller adds while still having Kinetic Tremors for bigger targets. (Jurassic Green with Heal Clip + Frenzy also plays nice since Frenzy is your damage and reload perk rolled together and Heal Clip gives extra survivability.)
I use Icarus Dash everywhere AND YOU CAN'T STOP ME.
Seriously though, I was in the same camp when it came to Dragonfly, because I also was used to how...Underwhelming it used to be and that it relied on a weapon mod to make proper use of it. I changed my outlook on that only quite recently myself. I realized I've been too harsh on it.

apex predator with incandecent bipod is an interesting one, I find use for it in solar gm's, though you're gonna want to put all the blast radius you can into the thing cause 20 br with bipid is tragic

I’m also in the mindset of completely disregarding dragonfly on weapons, including Tyranny even though I’ve seen people talk about it a lot. I’ll probably keep disregarding it but this has changed my mind about the Tyranny roll.

Ha! I enjoy all of my exotic bows in all three slots, but Tyranny of Heaven feels almost like an exotic itself while leaving a slot free for something like Dragon’s Breath, Arbalest, or even Wish-Ender if you like bows as much as I do. I know a lot of people are opposed to double primaries, but Wish-Ender and Tyranny of Heaven have served me well in some Legend and Master lost sectors.
