I think for skull you can make it tie into devour. Have devour give bonus super energy (kind of like ionic traces on geomags now) and give it the devouring depths artifact mod from witch queen (30% super damage if you cast it while you have devour). I would also make it work with nova warp too. This would add a way to get your super back faster (devour) and give a bonus to damage (devouring depths). The refunded energy on kills would work much better with nova warp too, making that super more viable as a strong ad clear option.

Personally, I want to see more exotics have significant changes to certain abilities, in line with Celestial Nighthawk, Pyrogale Gauntlets, Mothkeeper's Wraps, and even Ashen Wake (which should be stronger anyway). For example, using your suggestion of putting current Skull of Dire Ahamkara into Nezarec's Sin, they could make Skull make your Nova Bomb specializations bleed into each other, i.e. Slowva Bomb's submunitions explode into mini Vortex Grenades and Vortex makes things Volatile on hit and explodes a second time when it runs out. Alternatively, Skull could just add Nova Bomb specializations into your Void grenades, making any of them get bonus explosions with Cataclysm or a pull effect with Vortex, where Axion Bolt and Vortex grenades get enhanced effects respectively

it's also very good for Heat Rises sniping; 100 disc Firebolt Grenade has a 32 second cooldown, which EOAW drops to 26, which is a pretty considerable boost to Heat Rises' uptime (15 sec, extended by 5 for each airborne kill--scales with enemy tier in PVE, but guardians are just the baseline 5). The AE is also helpful, giving you 85 while the buff is active, so you can slap Icarus on any sniper and it's good to go for AE. The melee and class ability regen and the marking of targets is icing on the cake.

I have some suggestions for some of the exotics presented in the video and some others:
    - For Eye of Another World, I'm leaning into the "Cerebral Uplink" trait, I think of it as a literal 3rd eye that allows me to see weaknesses and dispose of a target more efficiently.
Perk would read: Aiming at a combatant for a short period of time(think Unstoppable mods, but a smaller delay) highlights/marks your current target. Consecutive shots on that target deal escalating damage to that target(Lucky pants style, with the same 10s window and 10s cooldown). If the target dies, you get a moderate amount of energy for your least charged ability.
Now, this might be a bit complex, since I imagine it working with ANY WEAPON. So...presumably, the damage should scale differently based on what type of weapon(primary/special/heavy) you're using. But I'm not working at Bungie, they can get the numbers down.
    - For Mask of the Quiet One, I'm thinking it's time for an exotic to do something with Barricades and one handed weapons:
Allows you to pick a Towering Barricade and use it as a personal shield. In this mode, you can only use grenades and one handed weapons(Sidearms/Hand-Cannons) and only in hip-fire mode. Killing a combatant with a weapon matching your subclass, while holding the barricade, emits a radial burst that applies an elemental debuff(Weaken, Scorch, Blind, Slow, Sever) and also heals you(I'm torn here on if it should be a full heal or just a chunk like say picking up an orb with Recuperation).
For sanity purposes, the burst should probably have like 3-5s cooldown.
-For the Super modifying/enhancing exotics, I'd like some form of Pyrogale treatment, where they also enhance a neutral part of the kit...be it an aspect or an ability:
-Celestial Nighthawk: Buff the damage a bit and does something with Gunpowder Gamble, it fits into the one shot fantasy: Larger radius, higher damage, leaves mines after it explodes etc.
-Shards of Galanor: Give it innate "Fragment that makes the knives track better", I forgot the name and does something with Fan of Knives, make the knives that explode in a small radius, kinda like the Super does, make it throw 5 knives that give restoration if all hit, IDK
-Cuirass of the Falling Star: Keeps the Super Damage and IDK, does something with Ballistic Slam...Jolt, Blind, higher radius, energy recovery on hits, you name it
-Orpheus Rig: Same behaviour + make Smoke Bomb leave a persistent damage Cloud at the location
-Skull of Dire Ahamkara: Same behaviour + rename its perk to "Insatiable" - While Devour is active, kills with matching weapons have a chance to spawn a mini Nova Seeker that tracks and makes combatants explode. It should deal like 25% of a Legend champion's health in damage...or something relatively substantial.
-Stormdancer's Brace could maybe interact with Ball Lightning or the blink aspect in a way, I don't have a precise idea yet though.
-Ballidorse Wrathweavers: Same behaviour...lose the Overshields and ally Stasis boost(it's too niche which makes it basically worthless) + Hitting a Frozen target with (the charged warlock melee...the name escapes me atm), creates a Shockwave(like the Super's) that shatters other Frozen Targets with a bit more damage and heavily slows unfrozen ones(Think 70-80 stacks).
Now, I know that some of what I wrote is probably a nightmare to code...as it imvolves heavily modifying and probably creating new assets, animations etc.
They're just ideas...and they are probably not as good as I think they are. That's why I'm not a game dev.

As a Hunter main, just give Raiju's Harness current effect to Blight Ranger and completely rework Raiju's Harness into something for Gathering Storm. Two options for a Raiju's Harness-Gathering Storm-centric exotic:
    - Turns Gathering Storm into the Arc-version of the new Void Titan super in The Final Shape. You can still throw the staff for damage and can now pick up the staff in the storm. Picking up the Arc Staff and using it within the Storm adds Jolt to attacks (in addition to Gathering Storm conduit proccing as normal). This would fit better the lore itself of Raiju's.
    - Or turn it into a support exotic akin to Helm of Saint-14 for Titan Bubble's and Phoenix Protocol is to Warlock's. That way we have a "support" exotic for each "support" super.

  • @Deceiver493
    @Deceiver493 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

*Mask of the Quiet One: Grenade Ability damage grants Melee Ability energy, and Melee Ability damage grants Grenade Ability energy. While using a Void subclass, when you are critically injured, you gain Invisibility (5 seconds, must fully regen health to proc again).* This would be a useful ability regen exotic for every subclass, the neutral effect goes well with the lore of the Mask being about "Recycling Death into the Light", and it has a bonus effect if you use it with a Void Subclass, like No Backup Plans. Most importantly, it gives it a gameplay loop that no other exotic currently has, and is only partially emulated by mods.
*Skull of Dire Ahamkara: Vortex Grenades gain Tracking (like Fusion Grenades) and extra damage that ramps up the longer the grenade is active (or it can be a flat damage increase). Vortex Grenade final blows grant Super energy. Nova Bomb: Vortex deals extra impact damage and lingers longer (up to 12 seconds).* This exotic basically did this in D1, granted Super energy when you defeated targets with Grenades. In this sandbox, ability uptime is generous enough to make this an omnipresent exotic that feels powerful. Nova Bomb: Vortex is pretty bad in PvE, so this exotic being tied to it is inherently bad. Making this version of the super do more damage is a no brainer.
*Nezarec's Sin: Your Rift Ability provides Volatile Rounds to Void weapons that pass through the Rift. Void Ability or Weapon kills while in the Rift stack a buff (Abyssal Cleave) up to 5 times (no duration), which increases the number of Seekers made by Nova Bomb: Cataclysm (1 per stack).* Ever since Volatile Flow left, I wished that there was a way to easily access Volatile Rounds again and not be a Hunter with Gyrfalcons. This also sets a healthy barrier between the use cases of Skull of Dire Ahamkara and Nezarec's Sin for Voidlocks.
*Eye of Another World: When in your Rift, you gain extra Reload, Stability, Handling, Accuracy, and Aim Assist. Consuming your Rift Ability grants Truesight for 5 seconds. Causing damage with your abilities grants Rift Energy. Your Rift cooldown is extended (T0 = 2 minutes, T10 = 1m 30s).* This had SOME PvP utility before, it was laughably bad in PvE, just make it a PvP exotic. It fits with the idea of "other worlds" assisting you in your battles. Instead of marking clearly important targets to you, it improves everything (except Range) about how you fire your weapons, and can let you trade that benefit for a really strong PvP effect on demand.
*Blight Ranger: (In addition to what it currently does) Reflecting Damage in your Super extends your Super. Damaging combatants with your Melee Ability grants Melee Ability energy. Your Tempest Strike Melee Ability also Blinds targets.* If you're going to make a reflect Exotic on a version of the Super that is used almost exclusively for add clear, let it just run through them. I don't know how that'd play out in PvP, but I'd not imagine many people would run into Crucible with Blight Ranger on even post-buff. The Melee Ability part of this buff frees up Hunters to use their Marksman Dodge on Arc.

I would love for exotic armour pairing that really specializes into a playstyle, like 2 void titan exotics,
"Rampart: Fortified" (arms): while using wall barricade and Bastion aspect, casting barricade creates a 4 barricades long barricade that gives void overshield to you and nearby allies.
"Sentinel's Charge"(legs): when paired with Rampart:Fortified, hold barricade input while barricade is up to send the barricade forward in a weakening and blinding wave of void light, emitting one pulse that refreshes and replenishes overshield.

My idea for Mask of the Quiet Ones would have it interact with suppression. Suppression is basically the "silence" status effect found in other games that stops magic. The first half of the exotic is fine but the second have could be replaced with devour but how you get it is from defeating suppressed targets. Similar to how hunters getting invis off any void debuffed target. Devour is pretty easy to get from orbs and void wells but I'd like to see more exotics that will help me replace parts of build. This idea was an old one and focused more on the lore side tied to the exotic so it could fit thematically.
Maybe even adding the effect of when you void shield breaks your uncharged melee can apply suppression or release an AOE of suppression like how Feedback Fence does with volt on arc or even maybe just adding the Felwinter's Helm effect but releasing suppression in an AOE instead.
With the Felwinter's route you'd at least be able to use your shield throw instead of the shoulder charge
    TLDR
    *Defeating suppressed targets grants devour
*First part of the exotic stays the same

For eye of another world, to play into both it's marked targets thing and bonus ability energy thing you could make it like Fallen Sunstar but for all subclass pickups (firesprites, stasis shards, Strand tangles, ect). All subclass pickups provide additional energy to all abilities, picking up a tangle gives energy to all abilities, and killing a marked target drops pickups matching your subclass. It could act as a nod back to when you could use a mod to make stasis shards count as elemental wells, thus letting them give ability energy to everything instead of just melee. Now it would do that for sprites, breaches, and tangles too.
On arc it'd probably just be a worse sunstar, but I could see it being good on every other subclass if you want to build into making lots of pickups. Its marking aspect would also give another way for making tangles, which is a nice additional way to make tangles during the tangle cooldown.

Long time warlock main here, and these are some of my recommendations to underperforming warlock exotics as a build enthusiast
For DIRE and NEZ'Z sin combing them is something I didn't think about, and what would be a good route is give both buffs to nezeracs and change Dire to be more of a tank/survivability exotic due to its already 99% in nova so it keeps some identity, I would think like it would be like old Well of Tenacity for a 50% dr on ability kills, and kills with this buff can extend the duration.
I think GETAWAY ARTIST and arc souls as a whole are underwhelming, so i would change getaway artist to allow your arcsoul to jolt targets hit, and once you eat your nade you get amplified (for the getaway part).
I think CHROMATIC FIRE should be allowed to work with energy weapons synced with subclass instead of only kinetic cause I end up only using ace with it (but it is very fun with Ace and void 20k dmg explosions with weaken, would recommend even up to GM content and you can swap ace with another exotic primary as seen fit but firefly goes hard)
APTHOSIES could combine with EYE OF ANOTHER WORLD although I do think that eye of another world is decent enough to be a I don't want to think of a build, I'll take 10% faster cooldowns. Apotheosis could be changed into an old aeons where your abilities refill some of your allies, so you toss a nade everyone gets 20% of their nade, you use a super everyone get 10%. Something like that could work with the current "Idenity"
MANTLE OF BATTLE HARMONY is wack because you only ever want one part of the exotic, so allow both buffs to be active at the same time and just have an overflow to either dmg or super depending on its charge. Like as super is charged you get a 20% dmg boost in surges and if super isn't charged you also get thresh added to all matching kills
NOTHING MANTICLES could get a buff that give voidwalker an identity again after everyone got devour it feels like voidwalker is lacking. so i would give it old dark matter so you get more uptime on abilities, and buff devour to give the old 10% nade on kill.
WINGS OF SACRED DAWN really bad unless a niche use in skips or pvp. You COULD give a second Icarus dash. But that's risky
PROMETHIUM SPUR Rifts spawning away from you aren't that useful in almost any content, so my change would be that they spawn on top of you/ and or buff the radius of the rift/emp rift that it spawns and increase the ability gen with solar weapons in rift and make it solar weapon in general.
BOOTS OF THE ASSEMBLER The Luma buff that it gives is super powerful, small buff would be that the orbs that it spawns will orbit you and then go to any ally near - including those in rifts and own wells
SECANT FILAMENTS - I don't think many people use armor exotics for champ capabilities (other than the ones that also of other buffs that Athrys embrace giving a JUICED throwing knife). and devour is not that hard to come by for void . I think you can change the exotic as a whole to be one that siphons energy from stronger combatants, so when you cast a rift your weapons both give ability energy on hit and some health scaling with the ability class - ie. bosses would give alot of energy per hit, and energy gained should scale with damage not hits
I have a decent amount of ideas for the other classes but i have less experience on them so idk how much ground i have to say on them
BUT, make NIGHTHAWK a one in the chamber (Same dmg buff as current)- each critical hit kill refunds a bullet and increases dmg (by like 20%) and gives you another second in super and do something like CURISASS OF THE FALLING STAR also buff ballistic slam by like 500%. Also on titan i would love if PHENOIX CRADLE is changed a bit to do 2 things 1. have the sunspot follow you and encase you so you are running into battle with fire spiraling around you, and 2 change the buff to be old sun warrior's/tempered metal so it stacks with surges.
And dont get me started on exotic weapons

They’re just universally bad. Damage is bad/locked to a fragment, and their tracking is horrid. You could buff their damage as much as you want, it doesn’t matter if they all throw themselves on one enemy. There’s also no gameplay loop with them, as they don’t count as any particular damage (grenade or melee, etc), so they have little interactivity with mods. Taking a longstanding neutral "improve any build that doesn't have an exotic already" armor and making it subclass specific is a bit yikes especially since people already have eye of another world without having access to lightfall for strand. Imo it should provide an always present slightly stronger version of monochromatic maestro + sustained damage to a marked target with a weapon matching your subclass element periodic bursts of energy to your least charged ability (treat it like a proc of that one boot mod that gives energy to least charged on orb pickup, every say, 4 or so shots.)

Mask of the Quiet One could play into the aspect a little more. The lore button states "Death does not need to be final; it can, in fact, be recycled. What's so dark about that?" as the last line. Why not change the whole thing? Remove both abilities from it, it's been power crept completely out of the game.
The change I'm thinking would be: "Grant devour for 5 seconds on void ability kills. While devour is active, kills will generate ability energy"
This puts it more solidly into the void section, but according, again, to the lore button it's already there "What I have done is found a way to channel the Void to draw that essence in before it is lost to the ether, to return it to Light so it can be properly bestowed back on our enemies."
Granting devour on void ability kills gives the titans a way to get devour easier than orbs of light, and only 5 seconds of it isn't completely breaking the bank. You add +2% ability energy per kill, that's not going to overdo it, but will still make it a viable exotic for void titans.

For Eye of Another World, I'd suggest adding "Your abilities home towards and deal increased damage (30%) against priority targets. While in an Empowering rift, this also affects your weapons." as well as changing how 'priority targets' are defined. Specifically:
    PvE:
Majors and bosses, as long as they aren't invulnerable.
    PvP:
Guardians under 33% HP or who are using their Super.
I think this would fit nicely into its (limited) identity of being a very neutral exotic, while also playing into its flavor text. "When the universe conspires, its enemies cannot hide" fits for an exotic that gives homing, and the extra damage is mostly there to incentivise its use in PvE. As for some interactions:
Special GLs/Fighting Lion: Grants Proximity Grenades while in an Empowering Rift instead of homing. Since you can wait a very long time without detonating the grenade, this is necessary to avoid creating extremely strong mines that home in on anyone at low health. Also, it might make Fighting Lion OP, which is a very strange thing to think about.
Child of the Old Gods: Slowly follows priority targets. Think Axion Bolt but about 30% slower.
Chaos Accelerant: It's *probably* fine for it to stack with Scatter Grenade homing, but maybe reduce its effect somewhat.
Vortex, Pulse, and Solar Grenades, as well as Vortex Nova Bomb: The lingering effect tracks targets slowly.
Void Spike, Lightning, and Tripmine Grenades: Honestly, not sure on this one. The most obvious answer is letting them rotate toward priority targets, but that might get a little too silly for PvP.
Arc/Fire Bolt Grenades: Dramatically increased targeting radius for priority targets. Maybe 50%?
Voidwall and Thermite Grenades: The wall tracks toward targets while being created.
Threadling Grenades: Homes toward targets and deploys the Threadlings much closer to them.
All Melees: Increased lunge distance against priority targets.
    Chain Lightning: Increased jump range.
Well of Radiance: Grants the same buff as Empowering Rift, allowing your weapons (not your teammates' weapons) to benefit from the homing and bonus damage. Also will automatically track toward you slowly.
Stasis Abilities: I haven't unlocked Stasis yet, so I don't know if there's any particularly interesting abilities there that would need a listing here.

Greatly increased damage damage with increased ability regen for x amount of seconds
    or
When using Nova Bomb, it still homes in on an enemy(cataclysm). After contact it creates a singularity(vortex) and sends out smaller seeking projectiles that on impact creates singularities of their own. All smaller vortexes work with the fragment echo of undermining.
I would prefer the second because it is way more interesting especially as an add clear. But I'll take anything to use this exotic again to be worth it.

But at this point, maybe you could play it off as a supportive exotic, similar to Cenotaph? Something akin to, 'Rapid precision hits mark targets. Apotheosis Veil: turn this into a Stasis Exotic: Change the flavor text to "I hear about the veil... but What is the veil? Why, the veil of their cold dead caskets of course!"
New perk: Dominion: When casting a rift, all stasis crystals you have generated detonate and spawn an iceflare bolt. If genade energy is full: add a 10% chance per crystal to spawn a stasis turret. If no stasis crystals have been spawned, all nearby allies gain an over-shield and a +30 boost to mobility for 10seconds.
Skull of Dire Ahamkara: Nova Bombs restore Super energy based on kills, and if cast while devour is active will consume Grenade, Rift and Melee energy to double the number of seekers for Catalysm or double the duration of the Nova Vortex.
Stormdancers brace; the current stuff is fine but it's extremely focused on ads; add in the perk: "Dancing with friends": Every two enemies killed spawns an additional arc soul that follows the player for 30 seconds up to a max of five arc buddies.

[honestly I just want the select target for slowva bomb option inherent in the super... getting sick of my slowva locking onto an ad I didn't see and slowly veering away from a boss]
    *Titan
Mask of the Quiet One- I'd like to see this one reworked to synergize with Weapons of Sorrow, Grenade hits poison combatants, since this is easier to do from distance (safely) make it provide 50% of necro's bonuses and DoT scaling (I would much rather have grenade be the warlock ability that sync's with weapons of sorrow and melee be the titan ability but that may just be too broken in a hammer build)
Peregrine greaves need to steal mk44's perks and mk44 needs a complete rework
mk 44 -gain stacks of 'seriously, watch out' charge with melee hits and kills (kills grant max stats of 5) 6s timer that refreshes with each stack. casting barricade grants to weapons that match your subclass 'SWO' empowered rounds. damage increase matching surge mods for the 1st 4 stacks and then subclass unique buff for the 5th stack (volatile-void, jolt-arc, scorch-solar, slow-stasis, sever-strand) SWO x 5 lasts 12s and can't be refreshed
    *Hunter
Blight ranger - adds jolt to reflected damage that hits enemy combatants, scoring reflective hits restores up to 50% super energy
Raiju's - they just reworked this i thought, so go further into subclass kit, deactivating super make you amplified too
Would also love one of the hunter exotics to tie into weapons of sorrow, but not sure thematically if any could at this point (maybe Kehpri's sting, or wormhusk but those are already strong enough on their own) Sealed Ahamkara rework? - dodging near enemies emits a 7.5 m poison burst (like when a target dies to necro), this bust is double in size when a weapon of sorrow is equipped. Have it provide 75% of necro's bonuses and DoT scaling - less than warlock due to dodge being more frequent ability, more than titan due to having to be nearer enemy and in the fray.

I feel like a cool rework to Mask of the quiet one would be to reduce the player’s shields in favour of their straight health increasing to compensate- also keeping the Hp regen part rather than the energy regen.
What’s the practical benefit? Anything that triggers off reaching no shields, like it’s own heal effect, will trigger faster, and with much more survivability after the fact.
Would still be dangerous trying to use it in higher-tier content however, so there’s still a bit of an issue there.

Mask rework: kills or repeated damage on a singular target that are effected by a debuff(anything subclass related). Generates orbs of powers on your location.
Additionally all orbs of power within a medium sized radius slowly path to you.
Blight ranger:while blocking all enemies will target you aggressively. Damage from enemies will be stored instead of reflected. When the super is reactivated or expired. Unleash a jolting and blinding shockwave. Range and damage are both amplified dependent on damage taken.
Eye of another world: upon rift activation, any ally who passes through the rift will be granted true sight. All ally’s who gain true sight on your team will see highlighted enemies. Kills from anyone with your true sight will grant ability energy to all fireteam members with true sight.
I wanted to keep that free bonus to abilities whilst also making it more engaging. I’m sorry if it’s a little complex

mask-keep original perk, but add one of these:
Abilities charge faster when critically wounded or rapid kills charge your abilities.
Blight ranger-Keep original perk, but add to it:
Blocking damage causes arc projectiles to shoot in front of you and jolt targets.
Eye-Hold any ability button to overcharge it, increasing it's effectivenes, but using super energy. Overcharged ability kills grant super energy.

I just made a comment from reddit (yeah I know ugh yuck and stuff) about how thruster on Arc feels underwhelming when it's not used for proc'ing HOIL. My final thought and idea was to have an exotic functionality of "Using thruster jolts nearby combatants and extends the distance of the thrust (3x its current distance I was thinking).
At first my thought was stick it on dunemarchers because that's the power fantasy of be fast and jolt enemies and maybe it should still go on there BUUUUT my next thought was why not have Bungie merge MK.44 Stand Asides and Peregrine greaves into THE shoulder charge Exotic, then I was thinking Peregrines could get the thruster capability consider it would also fit the "flying" thing with the increased distance you might just look like you are flying (also Peregines at base looks more like an Arc exotic that Mk.44's).
Also with a thruster exotic boosting the distance, would kinda shut up the people STILL going on about Twilight Garrison as it would provide something that would be on par with Icarus + Glide boosting.

Eye of Another World: Grants an additional aspect based on your subclass. Dawnblades get Heat Rises, Voidwalkers get Feed the Void, Stormcallers get (idk the names of any of theirs), Shadebinders get Glacial Harvest, Broodweavers get The Wanderer. Essentially just providing 3/3 aspects for Light classes and giving more flexibility with what you run on Dark classes (but not giving any of the "best" aspects, so there is still some choice to be made).

Nighthawk- Now causes delayed ignition upon hitting a target, increases all ignition damage sources.
Now that might not sound as much BUT. Some might know ignition damage can scale based on the source of it and counts as kill with that source ( AKA ignition from super counts as super kill etc ).
Bungie could make the Nighthawk in to this Leviathan Breath like super dealing more damage on the ignition than the shot by scaling it more for super sources, that ignition kills would also count for the super regen part of the exotic.
On top of it you can buff your Gunpowders Gamble or Conditional finality since both cause ignitions ( obviously damage increase for these would need to much lower than Nighthawks ).
I feel like these changes could breath it 2nd wind.

    REWORK- Exotic Armor- Blight Ranger:
    Miscellaneous Changes-
Increase the amount of things that can be reflected. Melee attacks and stomp attacks from bosses, for example, can have their damage reflected back on the attacker. Ally attacks can be shot at the Whirlwind Guard to increase their damage.
    Exotic Perk-
Voltaic Mirror- Attacks you redirect with your Arc Staff deal 1300% damage and generate Orbs of Power for your allies. Using Whirlwind Guard does not consume extra Super energy and will grant Super energy based off of reflected damage when you stop Guarding. Redirecting damage will stack up Gorgon’s Visage that increases the damage and duration of the damage boost after Whirlwind Guard. Gorgon’s Visage stacks 3 times, up to a maximum of 6x damage and double the duration.
    Purpose/Aim of Rework-
In its current state, Blight Ranger is useless and outclassed. Its current 650% damage buff sounds good on paper, but it only performs slightly higher than a regular trace rifle, which is embarrassing for an entire 9:16 Super. Thus, the current damage boost is doubled to 1300% damage, which should make it a viable choice for reflecting boss attacks.
Two other issues are present, those being the fact that such high damage stuns enemies and prevents them from attacking, and the fact that this Exotic does very little against moderate enemies like minibosses or Champions. These two issues have been solved by the addition of Gorgon’s Visage, an amplification of the damage boost granted after using Whirlwind Guard. This would come into great effect after stunning an enemy, allowing you to unleash even more damage when the main reflect ability is useless. This dramatic damage boost also allows for high damage against minibosses and champion enemies, even at Gorgon’s Visage x1 that does 4x damage rather than 3x. Raiden Flux is the offense-oriented Arc Staff exotic, Raiju’s Harness is the defense-oriented Arc Staff exotic. This new design of Blight Ranger aims to be the jack-of-all-trades pick, for power in both aspects, but not specializing in either.

Mask of the Quiet One: Suppressing a target recharges your grenade ability. After your shields are broken grants DR.
That way it has a neutral effect that is similar to base effect, but also has it's place in both end game and PvP.
This also works like Sunbracers, but not infinite grenades and you're not stuck with just Suppressor Grenades by suppressing targets with Shield Bash or Collective Obligation.

I've always liked the idea of a Warlock exotic that splits Nova Bomb into 3 smaller bombs that are tossed like you fire Moebius Quiver, that do much less damage in their own and are smaller, but would have an interaction if you fired one at another and stacked them, giving you both some area coverage or more precise burst damage. Something like that on Skull could work as a way of modifying it to work with a specific super.
You could also add something like kills against a specific debuff or while Devour is active grant stacks that makes hitting the bombs into each other cause seekers to spawn or a bigger explosion or better pull in effects or something like that. I'm super interested in the types of exotics that change the character of a super like Nightawk and Pyrogale and think one that turns a one shot and splits it out could be a cool spin on that.

First idea that comes to mind for skull: base effect + void soul also grants super energy when it ticks damage + super regen is faster if Nova bomb didn't kill anything. I like the idea that it just lets you yeet more nova bombs. I feel that's a super that could be super fun if you could keep getting it back fast enough to use it almost as neutral game. Maybe even let it give nova bomb a sort of charge effect where you charge it fully and no special effect, but half-charge comes out like D1 lance, but half the explosion, half the damage, and half the energy used while still adhering to it's base and proposed effects.

Okay, I'll start off with an exotic. One I want to return, Voidfang Vestments. The exotic functionality wasn't great in D1, a grenade on respawn and extra tracking. They could do SO much better with Axion Darts or even a different grenade. Maybe even supers.
Onto the other reason I'm commenting, I'd love to see Dire Ahamkara buffed, or at the very least changed to be usable out of power creep. Same for Nezerac's Sin. Both helmets are honestly really cool it's just their synergy with Void 3.0 isn't good enough to warrant them over something like briarbinds or a different subclass entirely.

In the back of my mind before you mentioned it, I was wondering what to do about super exotics. On the one hand, we don't want supers to become as crazy as they did in Forsaken. We can all agree that it was really rough to have content balanced around near infinite super uptime. On the other hand my brother was using Phoenix Protocol, and combined with my tether, we had near infinite uptime in the Mars BG Grandmaster because we were able to communicate and coordinate. So it's a weird spot where we have super focused exotics that are good, and for certain content work fantastically, but on the other hand some that are not worth using over an ability focused build.
My best idea for Skull, Nighthawk, maybe even Pyrogale, would be giving them a big buff as Champion Killers. Maybe massively increased damage to stunned champs to gaurantee a kill, maybe inherent anti champion traits? For Skull of Dire Ahamkara specifically, a change that removes the seekers from Cataclysm Nova Bomb (kinda like Nighthawk removes extra shots), and increases damage for placing your bomb well would be great. If they were able to reliably kill a champ in a GM, with increased uptime for utilizing them well I would consider them more heavily in my builds.
As for Blight Ranger and Raiju's, combining the effects and having one focus on reflecting, and one focus on the throwable arc staff would be a good idea; it could also steal the idea of reworking an existing exotic to work with the new abilities in the Final Shape.

Ballidorse Wrathweavers definitely also fall into the category of super buffing exotics that dont really buff the super. • @ButterIsPro

I wanna throw my idea out there as well, I think being able to combine both Felwinters helm and Karnstein armlets would be awesome. But this would play more into the support role for solar Warlocks. My idea is since Felwinters is based only on powered melee attacks and Karnsteins procs on any melee kill, being able to kill enemies with uncharged melees only heals you right now. However if you get a powered melee kill, that would proc Felwinters weaken blast, but also make Karnstein give cure to allies around you. This would work with any subclass, but if you use it with a solar subclass, the charged melee will then instead give restoration to your allies. That way you can run heal nades but also heal melees. So if you used a powered solar melee like celestial fire, then you would kill the target, cause a weaken blast and then heal yourself plus give your allies restoration for 3 seconds. I think they would make both of these exotics make the most sense combined and will allow for an interesting play style since as a warlock you are considered the "support/utility" class so they would help that fantasy even more! And of course it can be even better with Monte Carlo :)

I'd love to see Nezarec's Sin become the Devour exotic. There are a lot of ways that you can buff Devour via NS:
-Devour final blows grant class, melee, and super energy in addition to grenade energy
-While Devour is active, your Void weapons are granted Volatile Rounds
-The aspect "Feed the Void" allows void weapon final blows to activate Devour
-Devour kills to also provide a Void Overshield

Mask of the Quiet One - Knife's Edge: Gain increasing damage resistance as your shields are depleted. Taking damage generates ability energy, escalating significantly as your shields and health are reduced. Defeating targets with melee or grenade abilities heal you.
Basically you play in the thick of it, at low health, in exchange for having very tanky DR and crazy ability regen. Each ability kill starts the regen/DR loop again.
Balance for PvP to make the DR essentially useless (like an equivalent counter to the "low-health" buff that Foetracer Knucklehead gives), but the ability regen would give you a worthwhile burst of energy in any close exchanges.

    Long Warlock spiel incoming
Eye of Another World is one of the best exotics in the game hands down, because it indiscriminately gives you 33% off all 3 of your ability bars permanently. It doesn't care what you do or what subclass or fragments you use, nothing like that. A small added bonus, you can see invisible targets if you damaged them already so those Marauders on Exodus Black aren't going to backstab you as much. I would say adding something to give it flavor would be a good idea though, because this is the table salt of exotics.
Apotheosis Veil on the other hand is next to worthless because of how fast Warlock gets their abilities back from doing literally anything, add the fact Legendary armor can get higher stats and can use helmet ornaments and you've dropped this thing into F-tier. My suggestion was giving unlimited abilities to you and allies for a period after your super *ends,* meaning you still have a power boost waiting when you're done and even works great in raid scenarios where you're using instas for DPS.
Promethium Spur is such a wacky playstyle, I really don't have anything to say about it. I suppose it could increase in value if spawning the Rifts didn't use your ability energy, could lead to some interesting stuff where there is an ocean of glowing white circles across the floor. But for practical purposes, Vesper or Sanguine Alchemy performs much better for less cost.
Stormdancer's Brace can be merged with Crown of Tempests and replaced. Perhaps some sort of passive charge that resists a hit and makes a lightning storm or a knockback pulse when being damaged, or letting you use multiple Arc Souls. Personally I think Lightning Surge is weak as an aspect, and we got nothing but the universal melee exotics to buff it.
Winter's Guile (and Wormgod Caress for that matter) should have durations doubled at least or something else to make them viable: Titans have Synthoceps, Warlock melees aren't generally good at multikills. The damage boost after you've spent your melee is too little, too late.
Lastly Wings of Sacred Dawn. Its cool and good, but kills your mobility in air even over Heat Rises. Either: give it the Heat Rises flight effect, make the suspension works on all subclasses, increase frontal damage resistance while aiming, or merge it with Rain of Fire (or the other way around) and turn it into something crack-cocaine like Promethium Spur.

  • @lycaeo
    @lycaeo 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

For Skull of Dire Ahamkara, an easy addition that would make this exotic insanely better is if you got a *stacking* void overshield for every kill against a void-debuffed enemy, like volatile, weaken, or suppressed. This would still keep the identity of the exotic being a survivability exotic, but now not survivability in the super but survivability in neutral game. Hell, you could even get the max stack overshield on super cast.
This would give warlocks consistent access to overshield (except for the mediocre fragment, which you will see pop up once a minute max), so this would be a must-pick for GM's so you dont get 2 shot by everything, but still rewards tactical gameplay.

Easy change for Mask of the Quiet One: Make it work like Wellspring, where having more of your abilities off cooldown makes it restore more ability energy. Then on the other end of the exotic interaction, make it so the heal you get is greater the more abilities you have on cooldown. I also have to quickly bring up, that I do not see it as an exotic that only works on Void, as I've always thought it worked as a Solar exotic too and Banner of War makes it nice to pair with Strand.
I personally think Blight Ranger should have the "return up to 50% of your super" gimmick. Too many people put WAY too much focus on this exotics increased reflect damage, which I think should be ignored for the PvE. What people should look for is the orb generation mechanic for PvE. It does a rather good job currently turning Arcstaff into a weird "support" super, as the uncapped orb generation is provides allows everyone on your fireteam to immediately get their super back. I used to love using Energy Converter with it pre-Lightfall, as it essentially made me a super battery for my allies in GMs. They could also give it an additional gimmick to further lean into the support aspect of the super, like if reflecting a lot of damage would grant "Jolt rounds" to nearby allies.
I think an interesting gimmick to give to Raiju's Harness, would be to make it deal damage to enemies you get close to when blocking (effectively becoming a murder ball). They could also make it so you can move faster whilst reflecting damage.
Overall though, I do think a lot of super exotics need to gain additional gimmicks. It's kind of weird that we live in a world where Celestial Nighthawk only buffs your super (with one of the two supers it works on being garbage), and then there's Pyrogale which buffs both super and melee. The only justification I could give for this, is that Nighthawk also gives back a third of your super (or two thirds), however that's only on kill (I also hate how they removed Nighthawk's ability to punch through a bubble and kill the Titan inside).
On the topic of Skull of Dire Ahamkara, or Novabomb in general, I feel like it'd be cool if we had another exotic like Star-Eater Scales, but with a caveat. That being: Instead of picking up additional orbs to build damage, you should build damage by keeping Devour going or by getting kills whilst Devour is active.

Apotheosis Veil could just have intrinsic x1 hands on, x1 ashes to assets, and grants super energy on rift cast. This allows people to build into the exotic and it would have a gameplay loop of casting your super and releasing all of your abilities to then gain super energy.
Dire skull of ahamkara could give you super energy on charged grenade kills like a x2 ashes to assets. You could also have it grant allies devour (Allies who don’t have a void subclass wouldn’t be able to refresh the timer while its active)

  • @greeny1033

For Mask of the quiet one, I have always wondered if something including "suppression" is added to it, perhaps something like, "when a void overshiled is broken, release a suppresion nova around you, killing suppressed enemies grants stacking damage resistance" - the resistance could be up to 25 or 30% - and the nova would be on some sort of cooldown, maybe youd need a full overshield for it to happen again, or have it just be a 20 second cooldown.
Whirlwind guiard has always confused me, why it drains your super FASTER while deflecting I have no idea, if it gave it the raiden flux treatment of "Reflecting damage extends the duration with kills giving a bigger chunck of time" (Obv worded a bit better) - as it is fun TO defelect things, but there must be SOME behind the scenes thing as to why Bungie is so apprehensive to make this work better...
There are so many Helmets for warlock that need to be changed - Apotheosis Veil or Eye of another world; I have thought something involving the "pulling around" aspect of the void 3.0 subclasses could be fun to mess around with on a helment. (would probably be completely annoying in pvp) but something like, Void special or heavy weapon kills while devour is active now pull enemies to where the previous one died" - make something more crowd-controll-y without it being just about bigger explosions or more damage.

Here’s another idea for mask of the quiet one:
Melees or something grant devour on kills, and then kills grant the normal grenade energy on devour, as well as energy to other abilities.
This might be a little boring in concept but it could also unlock some fun playstyles for void titan. Wether or not it works on others is up for debate. (Because mask of the quiet one on strand titan or something would be stupid good)
Also just throwing this out there for shards, imagine if you could instead consume only a portion of your super to throw out a few explosive knives instead of the full effect, turning it into something more ad clear based. (In pvp this would have to work differently somehow)

An idea for Blight Ranger is to take its present effects and give it to Raiju’s Harness, replacing it with the ability to modify Arc Hunter’s alive melee to reflect damage instead of causing a damaging arc wave. The initial cast of the slide melee would just cause a reflective barrier to spawn for a moment, costing half the melee. If you successfully reflect damage then you can spend the other half of your melee to throw your arc staff, detonating on impact; Using an animation similar to activating gathering storm to give time to react in pvp and a small damage resistance against pve combatants, requiring a direct hit with another player to one shot them at full health.
Reflecting damage with the slide melee will also amplify the affects of Gathering Storm when cast before hitting the ground, improving the damage of the initial impact and cause the lingering aoe to blind targets that get hit (the effects building up while in the field).

Mask of the Quiet One could grant increased ability energy based off the damage you take. Survived a sniper shot in PvP? Took a Boomer Knight's attack to the face on Arc Threat? Significantly more ability energy than before. It's currently 5% for any damage with a 1 second cooldown. This can incentivize smart plays - push into a dangerous lane or peek out at a Vandal sniper in a GM because you know you can survive.

With the arc subclass having the fragment that gives ability energy when you're at critical health, and the jolt on taking damage one, Mask of the Quiet One feels like a really natural pairing for arc to me. It'd be really cool if Bungie made it easier to proc several things when taking damage at once, so you end up with this really aggressive playstyle where you face tank damage and get your abilities back faster because of it, punishing your enemies for hitting you.
Maybe they could even make it give more energy based on how much damage you took, so if you survive a massive hit, then you get a good chunk of ability energy back instead of just 5%.
I also think a good buff would be to allow Mask of the Quiet one to proc off of self damage, because I want to use Riskrunner and throw a pulse grenade at my feet and go to town.
All I know is if they made it exclusive to void, or took away the taking damage identity of the exotic, I'd be really bummed.

Nezerec's can have the super refund, as for Skull
Perk: Actual grandure: Collecting an orb of power grants you additional super energy. Collecting an orb while your super is full grants you a stack of "Whispered Wishes." Casting your super at max stacks (4) will grant your super an additional effect based on your subclass.
Solar: Create a damaging solar explosion on cast, combatants killed by the blast Ignite
Arc: Enemies killed by Arc super damage detonate into blinding explosions.
Void: Casting a Void super makes you briefly invisible, damage from Void supers weaken combatants. (Regular 15% weaken)
Stasis: Targets defeated by Stasis super damage leave behind a Stasis shard.
Strand: Strand super damage Unravels Targets on hit.

Skull and shards are a simple fix, have them be damage based not kills based or have them effect an aspect as well: for example getting a kill with chaos accelerant or gunpowder gamble grants super energy (maybe something like 8~12% with an internal cooldown of like 10 seconds to avoid nutty stuff from happening)
The hard ones are the ones that have little to no identity since you basically need to rebuild them from the ground up but I agree there are plenty that can be rebuilt or combined considering a good amount of the older exotics have been power crept out of existence

Eye of Another World, I feel like it could do a cool thing with a specific gun type. Tricksleeves, Cenotaph's, Stronghold and such.
As far as I know, there's no D2 exotic that buffs sniper rifles, so maybe have it do something there.
(Preferably something that's not increasing Aim Assist. I get sniped in PvP enough already.)
Apotheosis Veil, I feel it's having an identity crisis because it's half a Super exotic and half a passive-assist exotic.
I thought about it leaning into subclass effects and came up with this idea: when you cast your Super, you and nearby allies gain a random subclass buff for 10 seconds (which can be from any subclass. From Woven Mail to Devour to Stasis Shard Overshield to Unraveling Rounds, even if neither you nor them have any Strand weapons equipped).
Nezarec's Sin, I think that that is *the* voidlock PvE exotic.
Put it on with a Funnelweb or another Void primary weapon and you're big chilling in anything that's not a GM or PvP.
BUT if you wanna combine it with Skull of Dire Ahamkara anyway, I'm not gonna say no.
As for Skull of Dire Ahamkara, I've given some thought to the idea of it giving you Volatile Rounds after casting Nova Bomb. I've also thought about it empowering both Nova Bombs by granting Weaken and Suppress on the initial explosion (Suppress so Hunters can't just dodge out of the way, Weaken for the extra PvE damage).
I'll let you draw your own ideas from there, because I can't think of anything else.

here's an idea for a 'new' nezarec's sin:
if you're using a light subclass you get 'insert benefit here that revolves around the use of light subclasses'
if you'r using a darkness subclass you get 'insert benefit here that revolves around darkness subclasses'
maybe add anti champion functionality surrounding the use of certain subclasses, for example if you use strand you get unstop rounds baseline, then if you're using solar, you get anti barrier rounds baseline etc.

Maybe whatever exotic is left over from the blight/Raiden combo can either do something to tempest strike or allow the use of a blink knife from the new arc super every so often? As in allowing you to blink to a marked spot in exchange for a grenade charge.

Skull of Ahamkara should completely change how your nova bombs work. Cataclysm would be like the handheld supernova you get from the aspect with magnetic grenades where it launches a super void dmg push that also sends out nova bomb seekers. Be super fun for pushing a lot of adds and major enemies about at a much larger scale. Vortex could get an implosion effect where after it sucks in a bunch of enemies, it implodes at the end doing a bit more dmg and maybe pulse one more suction inbetween since the first suction never feels strong enough.

I'm going to out myself as a Stormdancer's Brace enjoyer. I honestly prefer it over the other Stormtrance options. I use it to clear adds and make orbs, it's simple arc warlock build.
Honestly, when I was playing my Hunter for a season I couldn't help to notice a lack of PvE options:
-- Gemini Jester could apply blind rather than disorient, then you add on a few other effects and synergize with arc blinding builds for Hunter. That seems like an easy win.
-- Ophidia Spathe could have two melee charges, rather than just knives and locking you into solar Hunter. I'm hesitant to give this exotic the Claws treatment, but idk maybe some Hunters would like their version of Claws. Maybe take a page from Elemental Charge and grant melee energy.
-- Oathkeeper's and Mechaneer's fall into such a PvP niche that I'd be fine leaving these alone. However, I can't help thinking these could be combined into a "master of primaries" type of exotic.
(That's all I could of for Hunter.)

I honestly have too many thoughts about the exotics in the game so I'll keep it to a few I think could use some love as well as minor tweaks to improve functionality.
Precious Scars - the burst of healing effect that comes on the exotic does not trigger with ember of benevolence which it really should. If the healing was changed to cure or if ember was made to synergize with generic healing effects the exotic would be in a fantastic place (its already got some neat use cases.)
Mask of the Quiet One/Crest of Alpha Lupi - These exotics should be merged into one, preferably into Mask. Maybe they could make the passive ability regeneration happen on matching weapon damage. The increased orbs of power effect on Crest are pointless as it is a literal armor mod.
Crest of Alpha Lupi - The D1 counterparts were based upon reviving teammates faster which does not feel like it has much of a place in the game right now. The orbs of power on super cast are a helmet mod and a burst of healing on using barricade is neat but is so power crept by other exotics it might as well not exist. A twist on the D1 and D2 perks could be instead of having a super generate more orbs, make it so that healing effects that are generated by the player have increased effectiveness or generate an orb of power, stronger heals generate a more potent orb, and then keep the burst of healing on barricade cast.
Skull of Dire Ahamkara - Revert the nerf to super energy regained that was implemented during the season of the drifter. The only two exotics that refund super energy that seem to work well at all are Orpheus Rig, Phoenix Protocol, and Stormdancer's Brace (which I think is somewhat slept on.) Keep the energy cap at 50% just like all the others, but make the energy gain consistent.
Blight Ranger/Raiju's Harness- Go all in on the reflecting damage fantasy. If you're going to use an arc staff to reflect damage, make it actually do something. I don't know how the PVE damage calculations work considering how much damage we deal versus our low health bars but crank that reflect damage up incredibly high to lean into the fantasy. Could also combine Raiju's Harness into it to cancel early to save some energy and keep the blinding explosion but have it deal minimal damage. The other option could be to merge them into the chest piece, so it competes with Raiden Flux and have the Blight Ranger helmet do something interesting to Gathering Storm/New Arc Hunter Super.
