‘You’ve got to work through the ugly’. ❤❤❤ Your videos are not only helping me become a better artist but a healthier person. My favorite thing that you say in every video is ‘what if’. It’s such a great life philosophy! I appreciate you so so much! Thank you for sharing your time, talents and most especially your beautiful energy with us in every video you make!
Really loving your abstract art. I’ve painted with oils for years but more realism. Now I’m terminally ill and retired from work, I’m trying to get into watercolours because it’s easier with less clean up to save on the energy that I don’t have! But realism with watercolours is something I’m really struggling with. Starting with your abstract art is a great way in for me, and I’m loving trying different media’s out too which I would never have thought of without you! It also frees me up to just relax and have fun more, rather than stressing over a watercolour landscape that I just can’t master! So a huge THANK YOU all the way from Yorkshire, UK 😊x
So glad the way I’m doing things resonates with you. Playing and experimenting and figuring. Out how all your supplies work gets you closer to what you’d love to be creating with out all the pressure we put on ourselves. Thank you! 🥰
Thank you so much Denise, I really really enjoyed watching you create those two amazing and gorgeous pieces. Yes it did look like a Complete hot mess. But it’s not now, all of those pieces are really really stunning too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
Denise, I just want to say a HUGE thank you for introducing me to the color CUBE, because I bought them after seeing you use them & I LOVE using them! (I used to go on Pinterest & fell down a rabbit hole for HOURS just looking at stuff on Pinterest and not actually doing anything artistic, so having the cubes is great because you pick a card and GET CREATING!)
Denise, I have just recently started watching your videos. I have gotten two palettes of paints that I have watched you use. Today I received the Color Cubes. They are so valuable. I can’t thank you enough for your videos. I Love your spirit and I enjoy your enthusiasm so much! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing another fun piece w us. When your saying hot mess, I'm loving the dark maroon boxes. Awesome agian! Back 2 finishing the video! Have a great day
Okay it was a hot mess for a minute Denise but way to turn it around!!! Kudos to whoever suggested the diagonal. I really loved the red and kinda gasped when you put that on. I don’t paint with you but sit and take it all in and because you asked when I do paint I listen to music. But what I really love is listening to your joy and I often giggle or laugh literally out loud and I have to tell my husband that I’m watching you paint on TH-cam. Now my fave thing to say is “Super Fun!”
I feel so much better creating art when I start without the expectation! Then I'm happy where ever I end up instead of being disappointed I didn't' get there! 😊
I love that you keep showing what you, and I sometimes refer to as a hot mess. Trust the process is a good motto, just keep drilling it in my head please. lol
It’s wonderful how it all comes together at the end, despite looking not so good in the beginning. It definitely seems to be helpful to have those mats to find the best place to cut the large piece. Thanks for sharing your creativity!
A great place to find precut framing mats are in pictures at thrift stores. Loved this palette Denise...I hardly use red, but I loved it in this combo!!😊
Hi Denise, I love your videos! Dear thanks for your great work... I ordered the Color cube bundle today through your links and can't wait to start working with it! Hugs from Germany Katja ❤🙏🏼🫶♥️
Denise Love - you crack me up so much!!! 🤣 I usually watch these tutorials first, then dive in and while watching today I was literally giggling outloud - see THIS is your purpose in life, to bring joy to others - mission accomplished! Ok - let's see what I can come up with. You made crazy amazing pieces in this challenge. I LOVE THEM !! Thank you for the joy!
Not that you need a frame, as everything you do is amazing to me. Although it is something how a frame can do so much for a painting. I have been using frames lately and I look at my art differently now. I sometimes surprise myself lol Thank you for your video Denise.
I recently subscribed, bought the Colour Cubes as well… I appreciate you, your challenges and your fun upbeat personality! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!
Im a people and love your 1st cut piece. And, the diagonal piece, girlllll. Was so cool. Wow, great frame pieces. And even extras. It amazes me how colors you never think work. Really work. I get my art room back this week im really ready to begin these challenges. Your skillshare videos are great. Tuvm for sharing.
Thank you so much!! It is crazy how good some of these turn out!! Can’t wait for you to join in. This one was a hot mess… but I loved where we ended up!! 🥰🥰🥰
So pretty. What fun! I was painting while watching you but I was doing my world watercolour month prompt for the day. I like to make bookmarks from my leftover scraps and donate them to the local library. That way the librarian can hand them out to the patrons when they check out books. I also read somewhere that punchinella is the byproduct of the sequin manufacturing process.
🙏Denise, thank you again for all of the inspiring content here on youtube! I received my 🖌 Kakimori nib and holder today along with inks that I’m hoping will give me a new medium to combine with watercolor and acrylics for some interesting art playtimes! I like the idea of cutting up the large pieces. I will use those for greeting cards. Have a fabulous 4th of July🇺🇸🎇
Fun!! I saw recently that the nibs are oiled - and if you will prep it by cleaning it with a little tooth paste - it will hold ink better when you start using it! Happy painting 🎨🎨🎨
I am loving your channel and your passion. I have been building up a supply of various medium but still haven’t found the courage to get exploring. You are really inspiring. Thank you. Viv from NZ

With your page turned portrait, I saw a man with square green glasses in the center of the page. Good video. I need to try your frame method to save some pages of mine that I do not like. Thank you.
Thanks again Denise for a fun color challenge! I joined in and was happy with the outcome. Love this type of no pressure creating and you just make it fun!
Hi Denise if you take one of your larger mats and cut into two L shapes you can adjust your view size to any size you want by moving inward until you find what you like then mark your cutting lines.
These are gorgeous Denise! I have finally discovered your channel a couple of weeks ago, and I’m thrilled I did! You are such an inspiration and are helping me to understand that I can indeed create art, even though my drawing skills stink!😂 I noticed you are from the Atlanta area and I’m in Sandy Springs. Denise, I love the final results. Like you, I worked in the interior design field and colours are in my blood but, I would have never tried those colours. Love the cubes thank you for this fun instructive video once again. ❤. BTW I’m French and truly wish my English is up to par.

Do you recommend a watercolor paper that doesn’t warp? I mainly use the paper (140 lb grumbacher) for very wet acrylic paints. I’m in the beginning stages of my creative journey and would like to up my game. I love your channel!
I experiment on as many papers as I can get ahold of... all watercolor papers warp. Better papers do warp less... and then they lay flat again when they dry. I like cotton papers... so you'll see me work on those quite a bit in my videos. 😊
Just an update for you and your other followers regarding the Kuretake Mica Gold Paste. I ordered it on Amazon Canada June 5th with an estimated delivery date of July 17th and it arrived in my mailbox from Taiwan June 30th.
Hi Denise! Another great video from you! I was thinking as I watched you frame on the painting to see what you might like that these would be great journal covers. I was wondering if you had done that or if you know if they would work well. I’m wondering whether the watercolor paper would hold up or just get dirty with handling and look funky. Any thoughts?
Thank you! I think they would be great covers - if you don’t plan to handle them a lot like making an art book. Maybe inside cover if you want it to be a working journal. Maybe if you wax it with cold wax - but then you’d want to make sure everything could be coated. Watercolor would be fine to wax. Definitely experiment! 😊
