    Great video. This is where I would get stuck because I would worry about "ruining" any parts I like! Thank you for letting us in on your process.

      Hi Susan you are very welcome. If you notice I’m refraining from judging although when I add another layer I might be looking to do more of what I like or cover those elements I don’t like- it will be quite a few more layers before I worry about composition though!

      Hi Andrea and welcome. Thank you so much for taking the time to message and for your positive comments. Paint on clothes is definitely an occupational challenge! I have clothes I change into but sometimes I forget and it doesn't end well!! Out and about when working on location I have started to think more carefully about the paints I use. I hope you continue to enjoy my channel and don't forget to check out my website too. And I have a number of online courses. You can see them all here: www.lizackerleyart.com/for-artists and if you sign up to my newsletter you won't miss you work/tickets/announcements. Best wishes Liz

      Yes it could be used just to play and explore asking the question ‘what if’ to push the mark making but it’s also a great way of starting paintings and getting the painting going! - something to respond to if you like!

    • @LizAckerley
      @LizAckerley  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi there I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. I enjoyed creating it too. Yes with small panels it’s so easy to get to fiddly so it’s an attempt to help with that. Moving forward I will probably work on them individually but I guess it depends!

    • @jillayne2263
      @jillayne2263 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@LizAckerley I think what I really like about working on them that way is that not only can you turn the whole "cube" of them as you work but as they are individual panels they can also be turned on their own - perhaps not whilst you're working on them as that could get messy, but afterwards, as you're assessing them. Because of that, you really don't know all the possibilities until the session is over and you pull them apart - could make for some very interesting "surprises", and another means of not controlling the outcome at the beginning?

    • @LizAckerley
      @LizAckerley  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jillayne2263yes all of these ways of shaking things up can be really helpful. The treating them as a single is much like using tape- because you don’t know where the edges are there’s more room for surprise.

      Hi Denise I’m so glad you are enjoying the Ramshackles series - funnily enough I was starting to wonder whether collectors would want to buy work about this subject! I’m not sure if you’ve seen the other videos I’ve produced about this subject- you can see them in the playlist here: th-cam.com/play/PLnyTfaOwD3Ks2QHdXtmcLwvnaVgidEggO.html&si=NbzX8cGOTVR-1m6y

    Very pretty even at stage 1.. what will you paint the sides in Liz?

    • @LizAckerley
      @LizAckerley  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your comment Christine these panels will change and evolve so they definitely won’t look much like they do now as they develop. The sides will be painted to connect in with the finished work, perhaps using one of the neutrals or something that harmonises with them but it’s too early to say what colour they will be.
