Love your fun pieces of art. I am a watercolor, multimedia artist. I would like to tell you a bit about the paper you are using in this video. You had been disappointed about the paper buckling on you as you were painting. If it is a watercolor-type paper, originally, it is designed to be completely wetted, and then taped down with water-tape that stretches it as it dries. Any kind of moisture will affect watercolor paper that is cotton or even a natural type of paper. It is designed to be wetted, stretched, and dried before using it again. This paper you are using with the deckled edges is really beautiful paper. There are other papers that definitely won't buckle as much like using a watercolor block. However, I believe that any kind of paper is prone to buckling when any kind of product containing moisture is applied. Good luck in the future! 💕🌷

I had never heard of Khadi paper before this video, but back in university I did some studies of Mahatma Gandhi and was contemplating going to India for a semester abroad. I learned that Gandhi was promoting self-sufficiency in India, and one of the methods of doing so was to spin and weave your own cloth, which he did, and the white fabric he used to wear as a sort of a wrap was made from this Khadi cloth, which was cotton, but I just looked it up and Khadi cloth can be made from silk as well. Interesting reconnection to my past!

The second one you cut out looked like a potted plant to me when it was turned with the leaves at the top. I know what you mean about living near an art store. I have a Michaels about 30km away but I have pretty well maxed out what I want there. The nearest art stores to me that carry artist grade materials are a 1.5 hr and 4 hr drive away.

I have a sketchbook from India with the same paper. It buckles like crazy when it's wet. But I find that overnight it will flatten out on its own-no need to put anything heavy on it. You can even go back and paint on the other side when it's in a sketchbook.
