      @@CastIronEric to be honest, amd supporters could easily roast me as my points are too simplistic.
      I'm developing a pc component in depth guide as an amateur pc enthusiast, where I explain it in more detail in case you're interested.
      Point is, Ryzen are generally cheaper and offer better performance in gaming and less power usage, but run hotter. I don't give 2 craps about power usage anyway, 140w vs 60w ain't nothing.
      Also, am5 motherboards that run amd chips will provide further gen upgrades like zen 5, whereas lga1700 obos end at 14th gens.
      Nevertheless, if your budget ain't mega tight and you don't mind running 20 fps slower on some games, I recommend the 14700k.
      Runs cooler, more stable in low fps and crushes the 7800x in productivity tasks.

Boils down to price but you'll never convince a hard-core AMD fan to go Intel and vice versa. You expect top end gear to perform, but nothing like building a cheap system that punches above its weight. Good video comparison though.

      Currently, the only advantage that Intel has is it's Big.little design using P&E-Cores.
      The industry is slowly moving towards optimizing Software to effectively utilize the Big.little design, and this would increase more once AMD releases their own Big.little design CPU's (stated to come with Ryzen 9000 series based on rumors).
      Once that design becomes common place, then older CPU's which are not based on that design would suffer a lot as support for them would be phased out forcing people to buy new systems (just like Microsoft tried to force many to buy new PC to change to Win 11).
      While this won't affect those who are frequent Buyers or Upgraders to new tech.
      It would affect those who buy PC for long-term usage (aka., those who buy PC once and don't bother either upgrading or buying new PC unless something fails or the whole system becomes unusable).

It's beaten by the AMD on pure gaming (not that far) but it largely beats it on multitasking/core needing softs (Blender, compression, editing etc).

      I have a 13600K and keep the e-cores disabled. I notice no difference even playing CP2077 and a bunch of other stuff open in the background. The e-cores end up being a liability because they push package power up a great deal so you're hitting power and temp limits sooner.

    • @MsNyara
      @MsNyara 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@LilMissMurder3409 I have an i5-13600K and I have a 10-15% increase in multitasking + gaming simultaneously with e-cores enabled, and a small 5% improvement in gaming if e-cores disabled and everything else except the game is open.
      My CPU does not go past 80c while trying to fry it with a benchmark for half an hour. I am using a budget $50 CPU air cooler, the Deepcool AG500, and I have 30c room temperature right now. So if you are hitting 100c = temp limit and thus throttling, then that CAN be fixed to unleash the full power of your CPU + greatly increase its lifespan. The guilty are not the e-cores.
      1st = LGA1700 motherboards overvolt the i5-13600K by default, and the CPU has no innate voltage controller like 14th gen refresh after it. Basically the CPU is receiving 20-40% more voltage, increasing 20-40% more its power and temperature draw, for literally 0% performance gain, that is right, absurd. This can be fixed thankfully, google any undervoltage guide for 13th gen Intel, which is literally just access bios and find the option, while every CPU can be undervolted up to a different amount without performance drop, the i5-13600K consistently can always reduce its draw by 20%, which is exactly what Intel enforced with the voltage controller in the identical i5-14600K that followed it. Easy 15c-30c drop.
      2nd = LGA1700 motherboards came with a buckling rounding defect which makes the CPU not have an even surface, which makes it NOT contact the CPU cooler properly, which skyrockets temperatures at times. Thankfully, this can be solved either buying a later 2023 motherboard for new builders, and for olders, just buying this www.amazon.com/-/es/Thermalright-Intel-antiflexi%C3%B3n-generaci%C3%B3n-instalaci%C3%B3n/dp/B0B9WHQ7VL?th=1 or similar from other companies more than solves it, it even comes with high quality thermal paste. People reports temperature drops from 10c to 25c at times.
      3rd = Your PC case likely has some serious flaw on its airflow, like fans not spining the direction they should or so. I have meet people which were hitting temp limits right away and it was always some poorly handled PC case cooling, like having an outflow fan directly to a wall or so. My PC case just has 3 fans running at 30% its power, so it is hardly a topic of upping noise or budget, so make sure to make some quick fact checking if everything is moving as it should.
      4th = I doubt it is the case but if you paired the CPU with a motherboard without VRM (rectangles near the CPU that acts as low power fans), yeah, it is going to be tough to keep it cool. Will need to up the CPU cooler budget to make up for it.

Why do you think undervolting a 7800X3D reduces its temperature so much as to make it run cooler than a similarly undervolted 14700K?
      Anyway, unless you actually undervolt both CPUs and check the resulting temperature of each, nothing definitive can be said about whether this temperature difference can be reduced or even eliminated or not.

    -costs more
    -requires more cooling
    -draws more power

    -requires much faster RAM and tuning

      for AMD:
      stability issues due to non optimised Agesa, CCD layout is terrible and also thickness of lid is immense, so they will run hotter,
      AMD policy about removing warranty even if you do underclocking or undervolting or even expo officialy (for case of 7950x3D you have to underclock non 3D core clocks in bios, so games will always latch on CCD with 3D cache);
      need for bios update, so you wont blow your cpu due to SoC voltage (Asus and MSI boards mainly).
      You have to run Win 10, because Win 11 will slow them down.
      BUT also : has larger cache, which will definitely help in games, still can be cooled with air coolers, less power draw
      Everything has some disadvantiges and advantiges

      @@serq891 none of those things you mentioned are an issue, just FUD spread to hate on AMD. Stability issues with AGESA were patched out in a couple months, thickness of heat spreader has no bearing on the performance as every chip will run to spec and AMD even specified the chips are designed to run at that temperature. Silicon doesn't even run into thermal degradation until ~15-20C above the design limit so no issues there - also just try running Intel on an air cooler and no 240mm+ rad (lol). There is no documented case of AMD refusing warranty due to underclocking or undervolting. Finally 7950X3D works fine with process lasso.

    • @serq891
      @serq891 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Of course. For example you can undervolt Intel cpu by 0,050 or even 0,075 V in vcore offset and apply thermal grizzly bracket around it, so it will really cool down.
      But if you are not doing heavy CPU programs like cinnebench, blender, CAD or such, you wont even get to such high temperatures compared to gaming, where temperatures are way lower.
      If you understand german, I can also point you to this video watch?v=514mX8Onxqc
      That is why, if done correctly, youtube reviews of CPUs are done in 720p or 1080p so CPU is used more, and with nowadays GPU, you probably wont play on such resolution yourself, because it would be wasting money.
      I presume from your statement, that you have AMD cpu, which means it should have 3D cache, If you are just gaming: also you could have 7800x3d which has only one CCD so no process lasso would be needed. If you want more "computational" power, then CPU with 3D cache wont really help with that.
      You should see CPU comparisons on YT: in general programs, intel usually scores little bit higher, and in games, AMD is better with 3D cache, but only in lower resolutions.
      Both sides amd and intel have lots of ways for tweaking and optimising, we could spend lots of time to searching for solutions which does exist, but are not that well known to public
      I also recommend you to look for 7950x3d fix on youtube, so you can ditch lasso completely

    7800X3D is significantly hotter even though it uses half the wattage. So if you care about temps, don't get a 3D chip. Actually, all of 7000 series runs super hot even at idle.
    14700K or even the 13700K is the much better overall chip w/ more headroom to gain performance on top of thrashing the 7800X3D in everything outside of gaming.

      Ryzen 9 7900X and 7950X are better than the 14700K and 13700K by the perfomance per watt alone and productivity can be stronger, you have all 12 or 16 perfomance cores.
