Despite how they went their Separate Ways... there is no denying the extraordinary timeless music that Jon, Steve, Neal and the rest of Journey created together - a once in lifetime band that was pure magic!. Thanks for sharing Gary!
When this 3 got together Steve, Neal and Jonathan in a matter of days they create music that last forever, the last album that made wrote together it took 15 days to write and arrange 12 songs including “When you love a women” chemistry unparalleled
jon’s message in this story is crucial: songs already exist. you just need the right people, the right ingredients, the right time and space to bring them into our dimension. they’re already here. we have to find them. journey has done an amazing job bringing some of these works of art to us.
Greatest ballad ever written. First heard it in a movie waited for the credits to see the artist went out bought Escape as I couldn't get the single track. At the time I was never one to buy an album on the strength of one song and prior I only heard of Journey by name. Over that week i bought the other albums and have been hooked on Journey ever since. I was 17 years old I'm 58 now and still the music captivates me and Open Arms started it all those years ago
In the day Journey worked so well together in adding new ideas with all the members and they all contributed to the magic of that band then..this is why they are so loved..I really miss that. I know it has been years since, but we still today can enjoy the work they put into their great music. I love to hear about the early days, Thanks Gary
No matter the differences between Jonathan Cain and Steve Perry there will always be the connection of their writing of that song and I just wish they could put their differences aside and be journey and that is what they're missing out on Jonathan cain 😢Steve Perry, Neal Shon😢 Greg Rolie. Make that beautiful music that they know they could go on for as long as they wanted to. We miss the real journey all of them not just parts. Thank you Jonathan that was very kind of you
There was so much great music in the late 70s, early 80s that we got spoiled thinking this music was soft/cheesy. I really appreciate these songs as i get older. Journey, REO Speedwagon, Boston, Foreigner, Loverboy..👍👍👍
Thanks Gary, really like how they do behind the scenes type on the songs. #DSB Everyone! Take Care and be Safe. May God Bless you and yours and everyone else watching.
Thank you Gary for the video. It is good for a band to have combination of both ballads and Rock songs cause then the album will have variety, that is a good thing in my opinion. I think the reason Neal gave was that the song was too soft and he was concerned about what part he would have in the song as a guitar player. I am glad Steve fought hard for the song cause I always liked the song.
I love Jonathan Cain & Journey & I love his wife Paula.. I just have to say lovingly that it seems he has the wrong idea of what the Holy Spirit is and does. This is very curious because he is married to Pastor Paula so he should understand it very well. Holy Spirit will only glorify The Father.. that's the sole purpose of The Holy Spirit. It grieves me to see Jonathan confused about this. As I said, I love both him & his wife.. If the song Jon wrote was about The Father I'd be more inclined to believe that the Holy Spirit wanted Jon to share this with Steve. Confusion can be a dangerous thing.
Wonderful collaboration between two amazing musicians
LOVE OPEN ARMS!!!!! MY FAVORITE ALL TIME LOVE SONG EVER

You guys couldn’t have done a better job with this impeccable melody, lyrics and instrumentation.

Great story. It's always interesting to hear the process and to hear that even the legendary songs have obstacles.

Thanks Gary. The more info about Journeys “nuts n bolts”, the more a person can see what was lost in their separation.
This was AMAZING to hear, love Journey

Stive Perry forever.
Guys, please put your differences aside and make music again. You guys were special
💕
Too bad that Steve Perry is no longer the singer. Journey has never been the same for me. 🤷♀️
I totally agree 💯 with you. Journey will never be Journey without Steve Perry
Wow, where did this come from?
