    Thank you for this, subscribed! Looks like free autopilot might be okay for me since I think I would want to drive on the streets.

      Thank you for your support! Yup, if there’s a lot of street driving where you are, then I would say the free autopilot is enough and you won’t need to get full self driving.

    thanks for the explanation! does the autopilot / enhanced autopilot work equally well at night?

    • @JustAnotherTeslaGuy
      @JustAnotherTeslaGuy  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In certain cases, I would say it needs more work. For example changing lanes at night doesn't seem as quick as it is in the day, might be the cameras needing a little bit longer to actually see that it is clear. In some cases, it does a great job, like with on coming traffic and bright lights from the other lane which makes it hard for me to see, FSD beta is able to navigate perfectly

    I am waiting delivery on a new Model X. Like you I expect to have hardware 4 and not have ultra sonic sensors. I typically keep a car for about 10 years. My driving skills are likely to decline over the next 10 years, I am 72 so staying safe and maintaining my mobility are big concerns of mine. The question is does the current FSD make you a safer driver or does it come with some increased risk. As FSD improves at some point I assume it will significantly improve driving safety? As FSD improves the cost is likely to go up as well. Paying $12k now for something that may not be of benefit for a couple of years could still be a win if prices go up.
    Thanks for doing these videos.

      Congrats on getting your Model X! I am sure you're excited just I was when I got my model 3 delivered. As of right now, November 2023, I would say FSD does mostly a great job on the highways, every now and then it might have phantom braking, or it would slow down a little bit when it sees another merging into the lane next to you. But other than that, it is smooth sailing on highways. On the streets, I would say it still needs more work, especially in crowded and dense areas. If you live in an area that is not as populated, it might be good to use but please stay alert when using FSD. I think if you plan on keeping your car for 10 years, the $12k might not matter that much in the long run. I do agree that FSD will only get better and the price will most likely go up. With it just being cheaper now, it might be a great time to purchase it. What you can do is subscribe to for a month for $200, and if it works well for you, you can opt to purchase it.
      Thank you for your support, definitely let me know how you like your model x when it gets delivered! Which options did you go with?

      Getting the $7500 tax rebate version so color was the only choice. Stealth Gray. I think I get FSD for 90 days because I used a friends referral code, so should be able to play around with it before buying.@@JustAnotherTeslaGuy

    Now on the enhanced autopilot how far or long can you let go of the steering wheel while going on the highway and it maintain its line or lane on the highway only

      I haven’t timed it. But I feel like with enhanced autopilot, the notification pop up to apply pressure appears less frequently than full self driving. I drove quite a bit of miles on the highway tonight in the dark using autopilot (not enhanced) and the notification pop up barely appeared.

    I have a free 3-month trial of FSD, using it a lot and super impressed. The only reason I won't buy it is because it might make me a complacent driver, and I usually get a new car around the 3-year mark.

    • @JustAnotherTeslaGuy
      @JustAnotherTeslaGuy  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah and FSD is tied to the car, not the person. If you purchased FSD, it is not transferable to the new car. This makes renting it a good option, definitely something you can try doing if you're going on a long road trip. Which model you have?

      @@JustAnotherTeslaGuygot my fsd transferred when I bought my new Tesla at the end of 2023 Elon gave this incentive to boost sales before the quarter end.

      @@lilweezy110 That's great! Which model did you end up getting? Yeah I think Tesla should tie the FSD to the account and not the car. Like what if I rent a Tesla, I could sign in and access FSD. You're right, I think they only allow transfers to boost sales, like for this new Highland model 3

    Thanks for the video. i think I'll skip all 2 together because it's too cumbersome for one, second is i like to drive myself and not rely on technology too much. The free Autopilot is simply Adaptive Cruise Control, and I use that everyday, even in local streets with my Lexus and Audi. Save me 6-12k and I get to save gas with the new Model 3. 44k is reasonable, assume they fixed the build quality issues

    Does it change lanes when using the turn signal on the highway?

    • @JustAnotherTeslaGuy
      @JustAnotherTeslaGuy  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Depending on which version you’re using.
      Free autopilot - no lane changes when you turn on the signal
      Enhanced autopilot- yes lane change when you turn on signal
      Full self driving - yes lane change when you on signal

    I’m just going to get enhanced, my first car was manual. I feel like I’m getting further and further away, I miss driving manual. Im not even 30 yet, I don’t think FSD is for me.

    • @JustAnotherTeslaGuy
      @JustAnotherTeslaGuy  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Which year Tesla model do you have? If you just have vision, then I won't even recommend you to get enhanced. The features like autopark, summon, they won't even work on vision only cars. And the basic autopilot that comes with Tesla is enough for highway driving.
