    This is one of the best videos on this topic. I wish I had seen it before I purchased enhanced auto pilot. I placed my order with the assistance of a sales person in the Tesla store, and they never told me that half of what I was purchasing wouldn’t work with my car.

      Appreciate the comment. Yea, I'm still waiting on those other features to show up.

    Those issues with EAP on the highway do not exist with FSD, it just works much faster. Also I don't even care when it changes lanes, it can see way better than you can, it sees everything.

      I’ve seen the improvement with FSD over EAP on the highway. I’m still not sold with FSD on city streets, but so far so good with the highway drives.

    Having standard Auto Pilot in a Tesla is still way better than having a Ford or GM vehicle equipped with cruise control.

      While I use auto lane change quite a bit, it's not worth $6K, especially if your Tesla does not have the ultrasonic sensors.

    My car came with EAP. Most of the time I disengage to manually switch lanes because it is not smooth or reliable. I do use tacc and EAP regularly, but EAP definitely needs work. It reads speed signs incorrectly. Sometimes it thinks the state rd signs are speed limit signs. Smart summon never worked correctly and seems to have degraded recently. Auto park almost never works correctly. I’m by no means a Tesla hater, but beware if you plan to buy any of these “features”. I hope that EAP receives updates, but being an owner for a year now with no improvements it does start to feel like buyers remorse.

      Haven’t been a huge fan of it either. I mostly use it for longer drives in light traffic. I do like auto lane change, but that’s not worth the cost.

      @@mywifestesla I like it when it works but more often than not it begins the lane change and abruptly swerves back. Really scary when it does that.

    I noticed your in Michigan. I to am a michigan resident. Could you comment on winter range? I have a round trip daily drive of 110 miles. 55 each way. Would a standard range handle this in our cold snowy winter? I have a garage and would charge daily at home. Thanks! Love the channel.

    • @mywifestesla
      @mywifestesla  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks so much. Your commute is very similar to mine, about 45 miles each way, mostly highway driving in rush hour. On those brutally cold days in Jan/Feb, I was using about 22% on average each way. Charged to 100% at night, and I'd get to the office with a 78% SOC (give or take a percent or two). I let the car warm up in the morning, but I never fully pre-condition it. Compare that to my summer commute, I'm getting to the office with roughly a 84% SOC. Bottom line, if you're looking at the RWD, you won't have any concerns with range for your commute.
      Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

    • @KragenbrinkGuitars
      @KragenbrinkGuitars ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@mywifestesla thanks so much! Yes, I’m looking at the standard range RWD. I’ve been told by other online communities that I’ll not get 100 miles on a full charge in the super cold days. I found those claims dubious.

    • @mywifestesla
      @mywifestesla  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Full BS. I haven't had any problems, concerns, anxiety with range. Not sure if you've seen it, but I did a pretty extensive 6 month review of my RWD and did a lot of comparisons to the LR. Take a look at the video, and that may answer any other questions you have.

    So, everything is a gimmick except highway driving basically? FSD is a feature you should buy if you want to see what a 16 year old driver is like. Careful! Careful! No! Ok, I have to take over! 😆
