great video but the torque specs to be wrong. 100nm is far to high for the e12 bolts. our bolts snapped well before 100nm and from our research the torque spec seems to be closer to 65nm. not sure about the other bolts but i would double check before using any torque specs from this video.
Just got my second 328, after crashed the first one on the Nürburgring. You're channel is just awesome guy ;) Keep up with the good work ! Cheers from France
Thanks heaps! Zellus Cars! Wow, it would be a dream to drive on the ring! Sucks that you crashed it but good that you have another one now! Thanks for watching!!
Real nice presentation, enjoyable, and so informative. Thanks so much for making my morning less stressful. I will be doing this this week to install a higher gear ration.

Done this yesterday following the instructions from this video. Perfect! Had it removed in under 2 hours, with most time spend with sway bar bolt on the exhaust side (really helps to have someone to counter lock the bolt). Thanks a lot!
Dude's making this look pretty easy, but I found it to be not quite so. Skill maybe differs, so there's that. Took me half a bloody day, and it also for nothing, was trying to get rid of a whine which I thought was coming from the diff, but it turned out (later, unfortunately, after replacing the thing) it was actually a wheel bearing. Which was another pig of a job, taking me another half a day to do. P.S. Love the vids man, keep it up! E36 fan as well! *thumbsup*
Nice motivational video, Big brain time for those not wanting to get out from under the car a thousand times, wheels off stick a screwdriver in the rear discs (vented type) this will enable you to remove the half shaft bolts without using the handbrake.
Hey nice car bro.I love my 328i .I need to do my subframe bushings and i am putting in a new shorter ratio 3.07 diff.Good content for me watching people who have been there and done that!!
great video. just bought an e36 and the rear diff bushings need replacement, I found a 3.91 LSD on marketplace too, so I'm thinking of throwing in while I'm at it.
nice video! just a tip but you should say the side of the bolts when you go over the instructions, this was me/viewers know what size wrench to grab makes it 10x easier. quality video
Did you have any trouble getting the diff removed from the driveshaft the first time you did this? I have been trying and trying and it's as if it was fused together. All bolts are removed just can't get it to budge.
great video. looking at getting a 3.91. feel a bit better doing it myself . keep up the vids! do videos about intake, throttle body, throttle cable, etc.
I've been wanting to swap the 3.91 out of my car. It's just too short for daily driving imo. It's hard to avoid the engine revving too high just trying to get to speed and cruising at 100kph is over 3000 rpm. I'm sure it's worse for fuel economy.
@@sigmaoctantis_nzbroo I’m having the same problem at 60mph I’m 4000 rpm! I burn so much gas and I stay off the highways. I ordered a 2.91 e30 medium diff off eBay and I’m going to install it this week pray for me
Thanks for the video mate, this helps me out allot. One question, I've heard the bearings in the American diffs are weak, mines already making noise with 115k miles, would you recommend having them replaced at a differential shop or replacing the differential for a used one? Thanks again
+Gabriel Sandoval I guess it depends how long you are planning to keep the car. If I was you, I would buy an LSD while you are at it. If you are keeping the car any length of time, I would go new bearings. Thanks, I am glad the video helped you :)
Nice video man, i have a question, the switch of the cover, the one that is beside of the filling bolt. I think its named inductive sensor, is it for the velocimeter ? Thks man
Appreciate the video for sure. Was wondering if you would answer a question for me. I got one stripped bolt ...tried near everything...im looking at either cutting the boot off to get that runber out of the way to get one good bite on it and hope for the best or cut it off and drill it out and peoceed from there? Thank you for your time.
Greta video man!! What tool did you remove the driveshaft bolts with? I tried a ratchet and breaker bar but they are stubborn! very limited space in there too
+Euro Touge thanks dude! I linked two spanners together for more leverage. They are stubborn aye! Guess you don't want them coming off aye haha All the best dude!
How would you remove the half shafts from the diff if the entire rear end is out of the car? i.e. can't put in in gear or use handbrake. I picked up an open diff to replace my welded diff and it came with the axles (half shafts) and im trying to take them off but it just spins
I finally saved up for an lsd. I went to go swap it for the welded diff I have now. But I can’t get any clearance to the two bolts in the very back. Axels and other mounting points came off nice. I just cannot figure out how to leverage the car back two. It looked a lot easier in the video but idk man
Hello beautiful how are mate I’m about to do my 92 320i diff and I need to know how long it take to replace it the on I have in my car I just bought is wielded and I have to replace it to pass inspection.
I need help plz i changed my engine from e36 318i automatic to m50 engine manual transmition but i don't swap the dif and i noticed that he can't give me the acceleration i need it My question is if it is recommended to swap a 325 dif ?
Anyone who has a bimmer whether e36 e46 e90 many bolts are torx bolts especially inside the engine I highly suggest getting a set even if you aren’t doing a diff or just doing the diff because you will need em sooner or later
hey question my buddy his old diff locked up and his wheels can't move would I have a problem getting to some of the bolts? we are swaping it out for another one but since this old one on his car is locked being the wheels can't move how would I be able to make the wheels move to get to some of the bolts will I have a issue? thanks
+Iam Moetic good question man. Not too sure tbh, maybe someone one here might be able to help. You will need to figure out what is actually locking the wheels up to start with and go from there. Try checking the brake calipers to start with :) Hope you get it sorted man!
thanks bro we got it it started moving outta no where lol but dude a pain to put it it back in to get it to line up to the bushing but we got it after all that bench pressing lol

great video ,you have given me the confidence to change my diff
+STEVE JESSOP awesome!

Bought a '98 328is a a few days ago, will be putting an LSD in it in the spring, just wanted to say this video is super helpful, thanks for posting!
+Jeremy Webber awesome! That is a very nice car bro! Glad this video helped you :)
Jeremy Webber i have the same car, what diff should i choose for power....not drifting?

Great job! I'm not taking my diff out and rebuilding it again, but I am gonna replace my diff bolt and put in a 14mm. I think my 12mm snapped.
Nice motivational video, Big brain time for those not wanting to get out from under the car a thousand times, wheels off stick a screwdriver in the rear discs (vented type) this will enable you to remove the half shaft bolts without using the handbrake.

Channel is underrated, very entertaining.
Great video helped me out a lot better than many of these bigger Channels keep up the good work
great video. just bought an e36 and the rear diff bushings need replacement, I found a 3.91 LSD on marketplace too, so I'm thinking of throwing in while I'm at it.
Awesome! Glad we could be of help! Enjoy the E36!

Sometimes the flange can stick even with the bolts removed. I suggest using a big pry bar to pry them apart. Hope that helps, thanks for watching!
great video. looking at getting a 3.91. feel a bit better doing it myself . keep up the vids! do videos about intake, throttle body, throttle cable, etc.
+Anthony Castro thanks man! Ohh that will spin up the wheels real quick 😉
Yeah we will see, trying to save money to put toward the e30 project atm :)

my 323i diff took a shit recently and im having to replace it. hoping i can put a 3.91 ratio in mine with no issue.
Nice video man, i have a question, the switch of the cover, the one that is beside of the filling bolt. I think its named inductive sensor, is it for the velocimeter ? Thks man
Thank you for this video. Now I can start my Diff-Project.

Those Car Dudes I mean wouldn’t have. Haha

How much time did you need to change the diff?
Great work btw
Took me 2-3 hours with smoke breaks and a buddy to help

Hello beautiful how are mate I’m about to do my 92 320i diff and I need to know how long it take to replace it the on I have in my car I just bought is wielded and I have to replace it to pass inspection.

My question is if it is recommended to swap a 325 dif ?
Tq very much bro..u teach me how to open the axle
+Muhammad Daniel all good bro!
Anyone who has a bimmer whether e36 e46 e90 many bolts are torx bolts especially inside the engine I highly suggest getting a set even if you aren’t doing a diff or just doing the diff because you will need em sooner or later
Are those 16"s Stilauto ? planning to get a pair of them for my w202 :)
+Fustos Silviu ooh interesting choice! Nice man!
Seeing your car in the rear trailer video, I think I like the gun metal rims best.
Good video, helped me a lot on swapping mine! subbed
Hyped! Glad it helped Brad!
Does an e36 m3 diff fit non m3 e36 without modifying anything tho?
Output flanges are different size. Swap out non M flanges or upgrade to M3 axles
Thanks for making this vid very helpful and detailed

This is an awesome video
Thanks Dain!
ended up stripping one of the torx bolts on exhaust side.. recommend taking exhaust off.. I don't know where to begin to get this bolt off now lol fml
+Andrew Kromer they can be a real pain aye! Might have to sacrifice a cheap socket and bash it on there with a rubber hammer
All the best man!
Those Car Dudes cheers mate, went ahead and ordered a couple new ones for the reinstall.. it was one of the last few so I was almost done lol
Well done!

Same!!

Hard out! haha
U skipped to many important/ hard parts
does anybody knows how to get rid of shaking after changing diff to another from another e36. driveshaft was ok and new diff was ok too.
Hmmm, hate to point out the basics, but have you checked everything is tight?
Those Car Dudes checked it twice and still. i even replaced that driveshaft bearing and that rubber thing between driveshaft and gearbox
Lmao...4 years ago...ya right
All e36 are lsd
Nope, all M3's are but only 'winter package' non M3 E36's are from my understanding. Correct me if I am wrong :)
Dude you could do less talking about other things and more about the goal your trying to achieve
Which wheels are those ?
