Hello, my name is Jeffrey and I live in Germany. My father died shortly after I was born. I recently found out that he grew up in Quincy, California. His name was Arthur Goodhall. He went to high school there until 1981. Did any of you know him? I would be happy about an answer.
I’m glad you brought up the Dixie fire. It’s a very real threat in Mountain towns especially with drought conditions that persist for decades. Greenville & Crescent Mills & Taylorsville all suffered, & as a survivor of the Camp Fire that burned 90% of Paradise & 33% of Magalia, I empathize with the victims. Quincy was very lucky to escape that fate.
My hometown! Born and spent most of my childhood there, been stuck in the PNW for just over 3 decades. There is so much to that little town, and I miss it severely every day. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!!
You are most certainly welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. It's comments like yours that push me forward. Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment. I wish you the best.
Thank you so much for your comment. I enjoy reading personal stories like yours. I know nothing about the gold mines of the area. Sorry. I'm glad you enjoyed the tour. Thank you for watching.
we loved this! my sister and i thoroughly enjoyed watching your video. our mom and dad graduated quincy high school in 1958. we were hoping you’d walk to the fire station (the opposite way from where you parked) because that’s where our grandma lived. growing up, we felt related to half the town. you would have been more impressed. had you come up the feather river canyon. there’s a beautiful lake and resort area you should visit called buck’s lake you should see. we loved your commentary and think you’re a very cool person. pretty funny. i will subscribe when i figure out how
That's my town, I 💜 it here, for a small lil town there is a lot of events for the whole town like the county fair, the high Sierra music festival, Holiday events etc. on top of all the mountain nature activities, the people are nicer, locals know each other & when we see each other in town (even people we don't know) we actually wave & talk to each other, the local mom n pop shops are friendly, there is very low crime here, I'm originally from the Bay area (about 20 years ago) but I will never go back to live there....this town/mountain & nature living will change ya....the main downside is the fires all around!!!! Other than that please come visit, we love visitors!!!! 😊💜🏞️🌲🦅🐻🐺🦊🦝🦨🐿️🦉🦅

I travel to Quincy almost every summer and each time I have a greater feeling of nostalgia. Both my grandparents lived there and I would travel all around and catch trout for dinner. My grandparents no longer live there and some of the neighbors left. Time flies man. Those summers were the best of my life.
Yes when you first arrived by the polka dot that was East Quincy. Then when you go over the hill and see nice shopping center on left that's Quincy. Same town. My friend grew up there. East Quincy and Quincy same town but rivals lol
That blue and white building used to be an assay office back during the mining days. I worked in that building back in the late 1960's when it was a Bank of America. We still had the old time teller windows where the miners would come with their treasures..

I haven’t been to Quincy since the early 80s! It’s bigger than I remember! And very cute!

Quincy has a lot of mining history as well. The museum is only a couple blocks from there.
I'd like to visit the museum. Unfortunately it seems they're always closed when I'm there. Thanks for watching.
You were in East Quincy when you entered town initially.

And yes, you do have a stop at Lawrence & Cresent st. Where you turned left to go towards the courthouse.
