I live in Brookings also and would have really liked to know the names of the places she visited in Brookings and Gold Beach. The only three I recognized were Pacific Sushi, the old Zola's Pizza and the off Highway 101 restaurant in Gold Beach.
Thanks man! And thanks for watching. Brookings is awesome. There seems to be a lot of new young creative energy and entrepeneures starting businesses there. And yeah, the Pandemic made a lot of busineses all over the world close, it is sad.
Sorry to hear this, but not surprised. Hopefully Brookings and the rest of the world will get through the pandemic eventually. This video made me want to jump in the car and drive >10 hours from SF!
Love this lady! She knows how to have fun. I live in Eugene and my friends and I were so impressed with our cocktails and we felt at-home at Superfly in Brookings. I want to check out Oxenfre next time I'm there. I hope they have vegan food options. I also really liked Panchos and Rancho Viejo for Mexican. There's also a Thai place I heard is good there in town in what I was told used to be an A&W. Also, in harbor there is Chan's Chinese Restaurant with delicious food and Wild River Pizza Deli is soo good. Please check them out next time. They've also got a good beer selection.
Thank you so much for watching! I am the camer man, the host is my wife. Thank you for the kind words. Yes, this was a really fun film shoot. We camped in the Harbor and did all this in 3 days? Lots of food!!! Yes, I have always enjoyed the lunch special at Rancho Vieja, great value. The Rice Bowl in Harbor is quite good too for Chinese. Wild Rivers Pizza is my all time favorite pizza on the coast and yes, they brew their own beer. I especially like their Imperial Stout. The city of Brookings commissioned us for this shoot so we were under certain stipulations of "who" we could film. I would have included all three of those if I could. And for example I would NEVER include O'Hollerans, they are horrible. The steak on film was not even edible, I was shocked they actually served us this for the shoot, we through it out after wards. If you like Thai food I would seriously avoid the Thai restaurant, period. I gave it 2 chances. It is absolutely NOT Thai food. Which is my biggest problem with it. If they called it "Asian" I might be more forgiving. But it is not Thai, I'm not sure what it is actually. Thank you again for watching and enjoy the coast when you return!!!
Every town really has it's own special thing going on. In the southern part Brookings has seen the most growth as far as younger people opening pubs, restaurants and actually has a "hip Vibe" for the coast. Going north, Gold Beach is not as developed but has a very wilderness feel, the Rogue river and the area between the two towns has some of the most beautiful trails anywhere in the world. Bandons kind of blah, but can occupy an hour or so at the port. Not much going on in Coos Bay. Florence can be fun for a day and they have the Dunes. Further north Newport can be fun, split into three very different areas. A "kitschy" part of town with wax museums, a more upscale part called Nye beach and then an almost suburbia feel along 101. Depoe Bay is cute, Lincoln city can be a real mess. Traffic can make getting through town take 30 minutes but they have an excellent Thai restaurant, go figure?. I really Love Astoria. Has almost a rough, fishing port city vibe. We have had many good times in Astoria. Basically the entire coast has something for everyone depending on your taste.
Thank you for watching! We made this video years ago, maybe around 2015? So some things have changed and Brookings has attracted many new and young business owners. I am sure there probably is by this time good vegan food in town.
Great hikes! th-cam.com/video/McDUmRKD0pQ/w-d-xo.html Fishing is good if you like that. Ocean fishing is usually a guaranteed good investment in time and money, salmon not so much but if you get lucky it is the best salmon in the world, just the guides on the coast are super expensive. You'll basically pay 80 bucks for a salmon, if your'e lucky.
Thank you for watching! We were commissioned by the city to produce this video so they requested no names, it was just kind of here is what is available. Also this was quite a few years ago but most of these restaurants are still open. One note, they had us film O'Hollerans steak house. I would absolutely NOT recommend eating there. Thanks again for watching!
The only descent steak house (very over priced) closed and was redeveloped into office space. The only great food you will find is in Gold Beach. Spinners is the only contender for a dinning experience. Crescentcity is vapid of good food. Brookings has some options but don't come on a busy weekend. No high food options. Good sea food, Catalyst, best brunch Fat Irish.
Yea six years has killed most of these spots. Fat Irish is the only consistent food in town. Always smiles and great food. The pizza is OK in town. The sushi sucked then and its worse today. If they don't have Uni its not a sushi place.
I live in Brookings, and yes, a few of these have closed. However, many still remain!

Looking for some brookings inspiration and this did it. Awesome video.
Thanks! It was a super fun shoot!
Sadly, several of the restaurants and pubs have closed since this film was made. Otherwise, you made our little town seem like a lot of fun. 🙃

Lived here for 12 years. You hit all of our favorite spots. Next time include Mattie' and Oceanside Dinner for breakfasts!
Thanks for watching!!
I love the home feeling and friendly atmosphere

Wow, what a gem! Is Brookings your favorite Oregon Coastal town to visit?

Xplore Film thats great information! I'd love to retire to one of the smaller coastal towns one day.
Brookings looks like a fun place.
Would love to visit Brookings, also never enjoy watching people eat with their mouths wide open. Should have thought that part through.😮
Any update on this city.
Is there vegan or vegetarian food
Thank you for watching! We made this video years ago, maybe around 2015? So some things have changed and Brookings has attracted many new and young business owners. I am sure there probably is by this time good vegan food in town.
Aside from drinking, are there any other attractions and/or things to do in Brookings?

This was PAINFUL to watch -- woke up at 4:30am and am starving! So much good food and drink in such a tiny town.
Its really not like that, but the beer is good.
Is there a list of the restaurants? You don't seem to bother to mention the names?!

I finished the fat Irish's Irish lord and it was good
Thanks for watching! It is good, I think referring to the big one with all the meat? That is an accomplishment!

5:41 I don't know about that pizza looked greasy as f
👍👍
Girl can drink 👍
Looks delicious yet need vegan or vegetarian or whole food plant based
Several of the places you featured are now closed and out of business. Brookings loss!
Indeed, that is an old video

I love seafood but needs to be vegan or plant based whole food
